I am going to make one hell of a post about this topic. just hold on everypony 🙂☝🏻 main point is that ummm addicts are humans 247 365 nobody will ever be a monster due to their addiction even though yes bad choices that hurt others made in selfish thinking are common and yes there are addicts who are extremely mentally unwell. That is a statement not a theory or a hypothetical.

🙁 what it comes down to is the isolation and assumptions and stigma and lies and romanticized versions of what addiction should be and look like and how it should present in everyone and Ugh LET ME COME BACK TO THJS!

another pet peeve is when I say “stop being mean to addicts” and then get barraged with responses along the lines of “yeah! not all addicts are monsters! what about caffeine addiction? that doesn’t make you a monster!”

and look. I don’t know if this is what people mean to imply when they make such statements. but to me it is one hell of a cop out because it implies that there are some substances that will turn you into a monster. it implies that changing the subject from drugs and alcohol to caffeine will somehow help to humanise addicts more. but what it actually does is say “I think that there are some addicts who are monsters, and they’re all over there taking scarier substances than my beloved coffee”

Well i just want to tell this to someone because it consumes me a little, but a coworker is making my life impossible because i did not agree with something he was claiming, basically because it was something silly and it was proving offensive to my work bestie, so he used that to give me problems this whole week and the week before and the week before that :(, the other night an office mate of mine told me that he was so upset with me because he didn't understand how a woman could be so unsubmissive and that he couldn't stand women like that. 🥴

so i've been dealing with that all this time and my office is a small place and there are only a few of us so we don't have a human resources department as such, this day got a little overwhelming and i cried at my desk,but thank the gods i survived!!🥹
