I need your opinion about Rafe being jealous when he realizes pope has a crush on his sweet girl so he makes sure he knows she’s his (I always imagine this scene after JJ and pope sunk toppers boat and the guys beat them up at the movies, top for the boat and Rafe cause pope’s ogling his girl)🫣 and I probably need this idea in my head all the time everything replaying in my mind 🥵

okay okay so ofc rafe would be jealous, that’s like a given. hes very impulsive and an overthinker. so…

he’d take the druthers and you two would sail around the cut, passing mr. hayward’s store multiple times, making sure pope sees the both of you, his arms wrapped around your waist.

but that wasn’t enough.

rafe’s eyes sharpened as pope handed you your groceries, hands lingering atop yours a second too long. he then had the audacity to ask if you needed help putting the groceries away, as if he wasn’t right there.

politely shaking your head no and bidding him goodbye, you turn your body towards rafe, who looks like he was about to punch the wall next to him. you roll your eyes, thinking that he’s just getting jealous for no reason again.

but he wasn’t.

he bit the inside of his cheek as he watched you and pope by the concessions stand, exchanging some words with one another. it was the monthly movie night on the island resort, and mr. hayward had been in charge of catering. he said something to make you giggle, and his eyebrows furrowed. if pope hadn’t pissed him off then, he’d definitely now.

“where are you taking me, baby?” you drunkly chuckled as rafe guided you up a hill, patting the ground for you to sit down. you’ve obviously had one too many drinks tonight, and he wanted you to sober up before taking you back home. kind of. while you thought you were gonna have an intimate moment with rafe, turns out that said hill was also the pogues’ favorite hangout spot. you began kissing rafe all over his face, giggling at the lipstick stains. he let you straddle him on the curve of the hill, his hands running up and down your body, underneath your shirt

he looked over at the bonfire the pogues were having, and made direct eye contact with pope, smirking. he looked away, staring back at whatever john b, who’d been across from him.

safe to say he never bothered the two of you again.

tensions were high. you take a deep breath as you look below you, the height you were at making you feel queasy. it’s okay, rafe will be here to get you once he’s done.

except you don’t know where he went. you can faintly hear the clashing of the green goblin’s weapons against his webs, but you were all too focused on what was happening below you.

god, you were terrified of heights. too many sensations were happening. you were standing on the edge of the clock tower, your vision blurring at the ground.

where was he?!

deciding to take matters into your own hands, you slowly shuffle your way towards the middle of the tower. it wasn’t the safest, but you couldn’t wait for rafe to save you right away, he was occupied anyways.

feet slipping off the edge a couple of times, you try to not get too nervous. being nervous makes it worse.

making it to the corner, you grip the inner edges of the pillar, securing your way to the middle. you let out a sigh of relief, before feeling a web hit your stomach, launching you off the building.

you black out, your mind being flooded with memories.

memories of your childhood, your teenage years, they all hit you. your loved ones, your friends, you see their faces, their smiles. you hear their laughter, you see your shared memories; good and bad.

then you see your future.

a future with rafe, a peaceful one, you becoming a successful journalist, him eventually giving up the suit to help raise your children.

tears brim your eyes.

you knew you weren’t gonna make it. but a small part of you hoped you would. you could see the ground, you were almost there.

almost there.

you feel another web stick to your chest, and for a fraction of a second, you smile.

you were saved. he saved you.

until you hear a crack, your body flailing inches above the ground, last thing you’d felt before leaving the earth was your spine breaking, and rafe’s cry of your name.

you look up towards the night sky, ignoring the lights from the skyscrapers below you. your hands clutch on one of the pillars, gripping tightly. your chest puffs in and out as you try to control your breathing. you hear them fighting in the distance, hearing rafe’s grunts as he defends himself from the green goblin’s attacks.

looking straight towards you, you try to make the best of your situation. this is an exclusive view, after all. unfortunately, your fear of heights take over, and your body starts shaking and you close your eyes.

but you couldn’t take it anymore. nervousness racked throughout your body.

you shuffle towards the middle of the clock tower, feet barely slipping. turning around and clutching the inner corner, you let out a breath.

this is all of the safety you were gonna get given the circumstances.

then you feel it, a web hitting your stomach, launching you off the building.

you feel the wind as your eyes widen, your vision blurring.

closing your eyes, you hold onto yourself, as that’s all you could really do. feeling arms wrap around your back, your eyes shoot open.

“I got you,” rafe whispers in your ear. he repeats it, over and over again, like an affirmation. you couldn’t believe it.

he breaks your fall, landing on one of his webs. you cling onto him like he was your lifeline, one arm wrapped around his neck while the other gently holds his face.

“thank you for saving me,” you say through your tears.

he sat you up on another web, lifting up your shirt to see the bruise that formed on your collarbone. he lightly drags his finger across it. even though you couldn’t see his face, you knew it was etched with guilt. you put your hand on his shoulder, “it’s okay, rafe.”

he shakes his head, “no, it’s not. I dragged you into this and now I hurt you. you don’t deserve this.”

you sigh lightly, placing a chase kiss on his lips.

“no no, I dragged myself into this, you were just doing your job. now,” you stand up, legs slightly wobbling, “where’s the nearest urgent care?”

“it’s down the street, i’ll take you,” he replies, putting your hand on your waist, guiding you towards the medical center.

you hear the screech of the green goblin from above, and rafe groans. you couldn’t help but chuckle as you entered the medical center, placing one last kiss on his lips.

“go get ‘em, spidey”

so these two would be the cutest ever. rafe would tease the hell out of mj!reader and she would take it so seriously sometimes. like when mj!reader is having a bad hair day rafe would twirl his fingers around her hair and say something like “what’s up with you?” she’d pout at him and then he’d feel bad.

she’d have an internship at her local news station, writing up articles for people to read on their phones. she was obsessedddd with spider-man and would never fail to mention him in all of her articles concerning crime. but when she found out spider-man was actually her own boyfriend, she stopped the antics right away.

she found the thrill of being with spider-man fun. the secrecy, knowing that she’s the only person that knows who he truly is. it made her feel special. of course rafe loved it. he loved seeing that twinkle in your eye, how you would feign surprise when you watched the news together, reporters on the hunt for who the person behind the mask was.

takes the best photos of rafe!! he jokes that “these could be my headshots for when I make it big” ofc mj!reader rolls her eyes at that. rafe would let you take “exclusive” photos of him in his spider-suit so you’d be able to secure a job at your internship.

during days where rafe isn’t fighting crime, mj!reader drags him to bath and body. he doesn’t last long cus of his heightened senses, so he’s holding your big, snoopy tote bag outside of the shop. he gets bored eventually, and when you’re done shopping he’s holding a spider plushie underneath his arms and handing you a chocolate croissant.

when the hunt for spider-man becomes so intense that rafe can’t even go out anymore, you two chill in your little shoebox apartment, having a romantic candlelit dinner. you both end the night cuddled up on the couch, you in rafe’s arms while legally blonde plays in the background.

usually i get inspiration from movies/shows i watch. i’m an avid daydreamer so i pick which elements i want to put in my story and expand/tweak it to make it more interesting. also, adding aspects of your personal life/experience makes the story more interesting/relatable!! like for my rafe texts series, most of those are conversations my friends and I had.

don’t be afraid to write what you want!! i understand it can be a bit intimidating at first, but you gotta let the creativity flow. writing is a journey!!

i found that as i write more on tumblr, i get more motivated/inspired to write. feedback from other people really helps!!
