thea just made me think of this, and while i don’t think that layla and will dated for very long, they did date for a couple of days before they both realize she had fallen out of love with him and he never loved her outside of them being friend, best friends at that. she continues being friends with warren of course, and something grows there. she doesn’t see it, but she does begin just spending more time where he works, and they are friends. she complains about will to warren, and then fondly laughs about it. and everyone in school thinks she is still dating him (including warren i think) so, when she realizes that she has actually fallen in love with warren. with his sarcasm and words and the way she notices that he speaks to her. that he doesn’t even treat will like that even though they are friends now. and it mades her so... unbalanced. because now all she can think about is pulling him to her booth instead of across her, so she can kiss him, and hold his hand, and she’s absolutely not alright most of the time, because now she can’t stop thinking about him, and she knows she’s being weird, and he can notice it and she can’t stop because she doesn’t know how to.
