OKAY so i figured out what ray's cats more or less look like. do you think they fit him ... like i KNOW he's a cat person (with an exception for Lilly) but I don't wanna just give him stereotypical black cat ...

(idk who these cats belong to but whoever you people are you have gorgeous cats i envy you )

the names for reference : howl , kim , rocky

asking you because you might know ray more than i do ... i also want rachel opinion

Howl looks very distinguished, Kim's coat is such a rich color, and Rocky is such a beautiful solid chonk. <3

I think a stereotypical black cat is fine for him too, though. I have a preference for him having a calico-colored cat like this one for easily discernible reasons.

But the aesthetics are generally immaterial for me compared to the scenarios they can facilitate.

I enjoy the cats in banana_slug_army's Cat-Eyed because of the commentary they provide for the trio/how they represent them.

And Mars from @iceicevaguely's ficlet I Hate Mars because Gilda subconsciously latches onto the cat for reminding her of Emma during the timeskip in the human world arc.

I also enjoy scenarios where they rehabilitate an animal or take in a stray like in @salsae's to have and to hold with them adopting a three-legged golden retriever.

Things like Ray seeing himself in an animal who was dealt a rough hand and giving them the space, time, and love to heal and a second (or third, or fourth, etc.) chance at life, like his family did for him.
