@camerica gets a starter
The last two years felt more like a decade, being on the run from General Ross and his team was exhausting, but at the very least Liberty had her dad and their small family of other fugitives.
Dramatically falling onto the spare bed in the crappy motel they'd been able to get, a rarity if ever there was one, Liberty stared at the ceiling in silence for a moment before speaking.
"I know we can't go out and have fun, because of the whole on the run thing, but I am literally dying of boredom!"

"I do... but should we take that kind of risk?" Their current situation sucked but it would suck more if she and her dad were separated.
"We don't need to go out. We can find something fun to do right here."
"You're a good dad, you know."
There weren't a lot of things left that Steve felt guilty for. He'd mostly made his peace with the past and let go of that life. He'd had to if he wanted to survive. But he'd also accepted that any guilt that lingered would probably always be with him. Not being there for the first part of his daughter's life was a big one.
In terms of great kids, he felt he'd pretty much hit the jackpot. Liberty was all the best parts of himself and Peggy and somehow still entirely her own person, and he'd never loved anyone more in his life. "To be fair, you make it pretty easy, kid."

@frozenandhandsome liked for a starter
"We're family, and family sticks together, besides someone has to make sure that Sam and Bucky don't kill each other. So I'm coming too!"

"We barely got out of there alive, and you want us to go back?" @redheadarcher
"Don't tell me you're scared, Barton. Besides, no man left behind, right?"

@amenagerieofmuses gets another starter because I messed up
"I chugged two cups of coffee and half a doughnut. I am ready to roll." Liberty announced as she climbed into the passenger seat of the car her dad was driving.
"Plus I call shot gun, so Sam has to sit in the back."

"Oh you know, my mom is dead and my life is over, the usual teenage angst stuff." Liberty said sarcastically, she didn't want to hurt his feelings but she was pretty upset.
"I blame Tony. If he hadn't signed and split the team in half, none of this would have happened."
@americasdaughterย asked: "Hey, can't sleep either, huh?" (Steve)

"Yeah. What's troubling you?"

"No!" She wasn't a super difficult kid, but she would be when it came to this.
"What home, Dad? There is no home without you anymore. I'm going with you. We have to stick together. That's what Mama would have wanted."
"You forgot something." (For Steve, please?)
"I did?"Steve answered looking through his duffle bag. "What did I forget?"

"I don't believe that." Liberty said, just a guy would not put his neck on the line for anyone else. This guy had willingly gone up against Iron Man and team. Had been sent to The Raft for it, in the blonde's book that made him more than just a guy, it made him a hero.
"You were a great help, my dad and I owe you one."
"You're the guy from the airport... I hardly recognized you when you weren't... huge."
"I get that alot actually- " Scott grunted as he ate a potato chip from the family-sized bag. "Not sure if I'm meant to be recognizable, I'm just a guy." He answered honestly, he wasn't a super-solder, not even a normal soldier. He just 'yes' to a heist and became the new face for an old title.

"You haven't seen her in the last decade, not when my dad came back, not when I came home, not once." Some small, petulant part of Liberty was jealous of Tony, he had known her mother in her prime, had gotten all her love and attention.
It wasn't that Liberty didn't feel like Peggy had loved her, she had. But now that her mother was dead, she felt cheated since she'd only had a little time with her mother.
"You were one lucky bastard, you got two moms, your biological mom and mine. My mom loved you so much, as much as she loved me. The least you could have done was show up. If not to support my dad and I, then for love of your aunt."
americasdaughterโ:
โNo, you were too busy kissing senator ass and signing your precious Accords.โ The team was being split down the middle by this whole stupid situation, and it made Libertyโs stomach turn.
โAnd you can keep telling yourself that you would have come, but you never visited when she was alive. She asked me about you often, and most of the time I had to lie and tell her everything was great. I lied to my mother, for you.โ
It had been clear to anyone with eyes that Peggy Carter had loved Tony Stark like her own son.
โYou didnโt deserve her.โ
โYes, to save innocent people.โ He argued. It made his own stomach turn at the thought of the team being split down the middle. But if the others couldnโt understand that this was good for them, than fuck them.
He swallows heavily, fighting back the bile that threatened to come up.ย โI did too visit her when she was alive. When I got into MIT i told her and we went out to celebrate.โ Truthfully he didnโt visit her afterwards because he got busy with school and then taking over Stark Expo and Stark Enterprise.
He lowered his head, fighting back the tears of sadness and anger. He wasnโt going to argue with her because she was right. He didnโt deserve her.

"Not without you," If she was going home, then her dad was coming with her. Especially after losing her mom, Steve was the only family Liberty had.
"Either we go home together or we don't go at all." She wrapped her arms around him and hugged her dad tight.
"I'll be good, I'm sorry, I won't mention it again."
"I want to go home."
If Steve had any regrets about tearing the Avengers in half over Bucky, it was dragging his daughter down with him. He'd been against taking Liberty on the run with him. He doubted the U.S. government would come down on her too hard over his actions, given she was still a minor, but he wasn't going to be the one to take more choices from her.
He'd freed the rest of his team from the Raft and split from them, knowing they were too recognizable as a group, and they'd been running ever since. He could barely remember what country they were in right now, and if he was tired, Liberty had to be well past her limits.
He sighed softly, the familiar guilt coursing through him. "Me too, sweetheart. If you want to go back, I'll take you back." He knew very well it might mean getting caught himself, but he'd do it if she asked. Hell, he'd turn himself in if Liberty asked him to. He cared more about his daughter than his freedom.

The files were a surprise, but the fact that James hadn't turned around and turned over these records was something.
She looked up from the files and met James' eyes.
"You want the truth? Help me up. We'll find somewhere safe for us to go so you can get the truth." She held out her hand for him to help her.
"Thank you for saying that about my mom, by the way."
"Well, it wouldn't be the first time a Stark betrayed my family." For three generations Stark men had been fucking the people Liberty loved over.
Howard had up until 1946, owned a vial of her father's blood. Tony destroyed the Avengers because of his own guilt. Needless to say, Liberty did not think highly of the Stark family right now.
"I could almost forgive Tony's fucking hubris, if it wasn't for the fact that he tried to orphan me in Siberia. Days after we laid my mom to rest, may I add. Which by the way, nice of the Starks to show up to the funeral, not like my mother fucking raised your dad or anything."

"I know I should be grateful for the time I had," Liberty said. It's what everyone always said, that her mom wouldn't want her to be sad. That seemed impossible at the moment, at least her dad seemed to understand.
"But I don't want to be grateful, I want her here!"
@americasdaughter
"Okay so what do you think of the new look, Lib?" Steve asked. "Do you think any would recognize me?"
Steve and his daughter were hiding out in Spain. After the accords, Steve had become a fugitive of the United States for not obeying the law. After he broke out of prison, he immediately found his daughter and got on a flight as far away as possible.

โI wasnโt invited or informed that she died.โ Tony growled out, nose scrunching up.ย โI wouldโve went if someone told me she died.โ Tony turns to face her, nose still scrunched up.ย โI visit her grave every day Iโm not busy. I bring flowers and talk to her.โ

Liberty sighed in relief, sprains sucked, but at least it wasn't a break.
"I'm more worried about you running back to Tony and Ross and telling them where we are." Liberty said through gritted teeth, sprains still hurt like a bitch.
"You let them go, great Stark, you're still a liability, I'm just trying to keep the only family I have left safe."
This whole mess had started with Ross, but Tony had made it so much worse. Not to mention Liberty had lost her mother on top of everything else,

โ will you let me take a look? โ @ir0nheir
Liberty weighed her options. Her problem was not with James. His last name might be Stark, but he couldn't help that anymore, then Liberty could help that her last name was Rogers.
She could either be a bitch and not receive help, or suck it up.
She chose to suck it up.
"Okay, be quick."
