               she  was  traveling  with  her  parents  and  brothers  from  england  to  ireland,  very  excited  at  the  prospect  of  an  awesome  month  of  vacations.  she  was  sitting  with  her  brothers  in  the  backseat  of  the  car  the  night  they  saw  the  tree  and  felt  confused  at  first,  then  …  absolutely  terrified  and  heartbroken.

               dark  as  a  wolf’s  mouth  was  the  first  night  rory  osbourne  spent  in  this  town,  the  night  that  received  her.  her  mother  never  liked  them  driving  at  night,  not  on  the  highway,  at  least,  hence  her  father  was  looking  for  a  place  to  rest,  bickering  under  his  breath,  when  they  first  spotted  the  tree.  everything  after  that  was  hell,  and  sadly,  her  mind  remembers  every  bit  of  it  until  this  day.  it  remembers  the  three  and  the  crows  and  them,  in  the  middle  of  the  road,  smiling.  it  remembers  her  father  rolling  down  the  window  and  how  they  lured  him  out,  how  a  second  later  there  was  a  splash  of  blood  tainting  the  glass  and  her  mother  screaming  for  the  lives  of  her  children  who  ran  with  her,  who  minutes  later  were,  too,  caught  by  the  devil  surrounding  them.  she  will  always  remember  how  she  tried  to  go  back,  the  desire  to  fight,  and  the  hand  that  covered  her  mouth  and  the  warm  body  that  pulled  her  inside  the  hole  of  a  dead  tree  whispering,  whispering…  they’re  dead,  there’s  nothing  you  can  do.  there’s  nothing  you  can  do.  so  nothing  she  did,  her  sobs  deafened  under  the  screams  of  those  she  loved  the  most.

WHAT  DID  THEY  LEAVE  BEHIND?  WHAT  WAS  THEIR  LIFE  LIKE  ON  THE  OUTSIDE ?

              i.   surrounded  by  parents  who  loved  her  since  the  first  breath  she  took  and  later  blessed  by  the  laughs  of  brothers  she  adored  from  the  moment  she  saw  them,  an  almost  perfect  life  was  what  rory  osbourne  left  behind.               ii.   driven  to  the  core,  she  was  a  proficient  gymnast  from  age  six  to  the  moment  the  tree  crossed  her  path  (  although  she  keeps  practicing  every  time  she  feels  like  it  because  it  clears  her  mind  and  keep  her  in  shape  ),  and  her  life  was  beautifully  engulfed  by  friends,  laughs  and  memories  that  are  the  only  weapon  she  has  to  fight  the  nightmares  these  days.               iii.   she  was  a  vivacious  girl,  full  of  life  and  energy  and  mirth.  how  could  be  anything  else  enveloped  by  so  much  love  and  so  much  fortune ?               iv.   good  grades,  a  promising  athletic  career,  and  an  impecable  record,  she  was  granted  a  full  scolarship  to  attend  oxford  the  summer  of  her  last  journey.               v.  her  life  was  good,  her  family  loving,  and  she  lost  all  of  that  after  the  tree  and  the  crows  and  them.  she  was  never.

Além disso, se parece muito com uma celebridade do Antigo Mundo chamada Gavin Leatherwood. Você não acha?

Acredita-se que “tudo o que um Sánchez toca, apodrece” e, talvez, os boatos não estejam tão errados, afinal, são poucos da família que obtém algum sucesso em ter uma boa imagem. Seu pai desde então, decidiu voltar a atenção para os outros filhos, que eram um número considerável na época e que só aumentou com o passar do tempo. Já a mãe da criança, ao notar que não poderia mais se gabar de ser a progenitora do possível futuro príncipe — ao menos que quisesse ser motivo de chacota — , voltou para os seus afazeres de concubina na corte tão logo efetuou o desmame, deixando Callisto aos cuidados dos vários empregados do castelo e dos irmãos mais velhos dele, estes que — ele tem suspeita — só o cuidaram porque tinham a certeza de que ele não era uma ameaça para a vaga ao trono. 

“Quando um monstro é considerado um monstro desde que nasceu, tem como ele ser algo diferente disso?” O terceiro Sánchez até tentou fugir desse ditado, mas para todo lugar que ia parecia que a profecia o perseguia. Todos sempre esperavam o pior dele e quando não o tratavam com indiferença, era com medo. Isso o incomodou até o dia que ele se cansou de querer provar para todos que estavam errados e enfim aceitou o fardo que lhe foi dado desde o berço. Muitos já foram provas oculares da selvageria e brutalidade da qual o rapaz é capaz quando suas vontades não são atendidas ou quando simplesmente se encontra entediado e busca qualquer tipo de motim e confusão para se divertir. Existe inclusive boatos de que inúmeros veneficus foram vistos uma última vez prestando serviços ao rapaz, antes de desaparecerem da corte, mas ninguém nunca teve interesse em investigar isso a fundo, afinal ele ainda é um Duque. 

A verdade é que Callisto passou toda a infância em um ambiente precário de afeto e, estranhamente, não consegue se ver em uma realidade diferente agora. Aprendeu na dureza que o mundo, no fim das contas, sorri apenas para quem nasce com sorte e para sobreviver a isso, ele precisava ser mais esperto.
