"i almost drank your blood! i'm dangerous to you --- to everyone!" her voice began to break as she looked at her friend, scared and frightened at how she barely got a hold of herself from almost attacking reggie the night before. usually, betty's words could convince veronica --- but not this time. she was human before, but now she is ... a monster. "i can't be around anyone, i just can't. what if i attack someone, what if i kill someone?"

"i'm the one with regenerative powers and you're only human!" veronica replied harshly, pulling away from betty's touch. the blonde had a point, this is a suicide mission and she knew it. it doesn't matter if veronica could heal from the attack, silver bullets will slow down her ability. "let me do this ... i need to make amends for almost killing you guys."

"you know why." veronica replied, looking at betty painfully. things can't be the same, not after what happened, not after what veronica had become. they were like romeo and juliet if the montague's were a werewolf hunting family and juliet was a werewolf. "i can't risk reggie coming after you, and you can't risk your family coming after me." her chest began to feel heavy, as tears swelled behind her eyes. "i can't take back the things i have done ... but i can make this right and leave." leave you behind, for the better. "i love you betty, always."

she pondered at his remark, thinking over the past few years since moving to riverdale. all the midnight hangouts, dinners at pop's, the homecoming games, and school dances. she wasn't born into this town like jughead and archie, yet it felt like home, where she felt safe and comfortable. veronica shook her head slightly, opening her mouth before closing it again. unable to find the words to explain how she feels. the heiress glanced at him, giving him a half smile. "it's bittersweet ..." she was going to miss this town, she was going to miss jughead and everyone else. but that's what going to college is about, leaving the nest and starting fresh.
