In Defense Of Lanolin, A Post About Perspective, Flaws and Development. (Part 2: Lanolin's Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice.)
Tumblr media
Read Part 1 Here!
Like I said, the OG post was so long with JUST me bringing up the specific events I had to, eventually, make a part two. In this part I'm gonna be discussing Lanolin as a character! Moreso why she's probably the way she is currently! I'll also be discussing her role as a character.
Posting this here as well! I'm not saying that people disliking lanolin is bad but I do think the hate is over done!
Tumblr media
Lanolin was introduced to us in issue 2 (WOW she was early in) She didn't really have much of a role at the time. She was a background for a while before being being re-introduced with a whole new look and personality during the Urban Warfare arc!
However she does go through more than that! In multiple arcs you can see her in the background. Most note worthy being her outfit change becoming more battle ready more time you see in the metal virus arc!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her sense in style goes from something you'd wear during the summer time for a nice day out to something you'd wear for battle. I think that says a lot about what she went through. She goes from the jittery little thing to someone more strong.
So let's get this out of the way, Lanolin is traumatized by the badnik raids and probably even more so by the Zombot virus (and EVERYTHING ELSE she was caught up in)
Tumblr media
"I never wanted to feel so helpless and unprepared again."
I feel a lot of Lanolin's "bossy" and "brashess" comes this. She acts the way she does because she doesn't want herself feel that way ever again. Trauma changes people, speaking from experience.
Whisper is also an example of this being shown in IDW sonic. She seems much bubblier in the past but now she's quiet and reserved because of the death of her team mates. I also want to add something ELSE to this (not to pull these events out again).
"I didn't want ANYONE to feel that way."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
cut to me in a therapist chair. I believe a lot of the causes of Lanolin's biggest blunders does come from a place of not wanting anyone to feel helpless in the way SHE did. It's why she goes to protect the "new scared guy" (and manipulator with years of experience). It's why she reacts with such fear when the track breaks. It's all done out of this desire.
It's her moral code.
Also I think whenever she fails this it sends her into a pit of self loathing and I have the panels to prove this check this out. Take a look at this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THAT right there is Lanolin's guilt. Can we talk about Lanolin's Guilt? PLEASE sonicblr I've been dying to talk about Lanolin's guilt with you ALL DAY okay?/ref
Lanolin openly acknowledging that she's afraid of failing others (in the sense of making people unsafe) in Urban Warfare (I feel at least) is a small but important key to understanding Lanolin's mindset. Lanolin feels GUILT every time she's done something to hurt others. It's why her eyes go so ghost wide when the track breaks.
Because she's put people in danger.
NOW I think Lanolin's biggest flaw is that she's not only blunt but I think she forgets that she can ALSO put people in danger (on accident, of course). When she realizes it I think it mentally comes crashing down for her. Girl DOES NOT handle failure well.
Tumblr media
(screenshot added because it's cool, her powers are cool)
Lanolin's role in the comic is pretty clear as day, at least to me. She's the straight man! (Well probably not straight and not a man) Basically a straight man in media is someone who takes things seriously. It's their job to point out the utter bonkers stuff going around them and go "what?????"
Which is one of the first things we see her do in the first scenes she's in! I personally love how much her personality clashes with the others, adds some nice chemistry to the mix!
Tumblr media
Characters that are typically characterized as "serious" will ALWAYS clash with the goof balls. It's the charm of the dynamic.
I don't know why people hate her so much, genuinely. She shares a lot of character traits with some fan favorites! I do think there might be a uh... bigger reason as to why people hate her.
"Max. What the hell are you talking about?"
Haha. Well. There's two characters I want to discuss for this that do share traits with her and are fan favorites. Other than characteristics.. there is one key difference I want to discuss between Lanolin and these two characters. And this is the hard part where despite the meme I talk about more difficult subject matter.
"What's the main difference between lanolin and these fan favorites?"
ah! Well uh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their Genders.
(and well alliance for Starline shurgs very loudly)
Yeah this is unfortunately discuss fandom sexism. It's not lost on me that people absolutely ADORE Shadow and Starline. Characters that are often ones to resort to whatever tactics they deem necessary to achieve their end goals. These tactics can include violence. Hell we know Starline is down right PETRIFIED of failure (issue 50). Shadow is also known for taking charge on things and boldy assuming stuff (SA2). Hell he even assumes himself to be an android at one point.
These are both characters that share a LOT character wise with Lanolin. I know for a FACT if Shadow was the one who kicked Silver out of team dark he'd still be loved. If Starline was in Lanolin's place you'd have people going "Oh guys hear me out owo,,". You know it's bad when I've seen more genuine hate and vile spread about the traumatized teenager than the grown man who canonically helped caused a zombie outbreak (and so much more!!!). I'm saying this and Starline is my favorite Idw character! Keep that in mind while reading all of this!
People would've adored Lanolin if she was a guy. I'm betting it RIGHT now. She wouldn't be "bitchy" she'd be "determined and strong". She wouldn't of "gotten what she deserved" there would've been posts about how it "wasn't his fault <:[[[[".
Why do I say this? Because I've seen this happen in fandom.
Tumblr media
Again
Tumblr media
And Again
Tumblr media
And AGAIN.
HELL Even to the extent that people have called Mabel Pines, A 12 YEAR OLD. A Manipulator. Princess Bubble gum wasn't being nice to Finn she was "leading him on". Rose Quartz wasn't a morally gray figure she was "a reckless person".
Lanolin isn't "just doing her job and making a mistake" she's "being a bitch and getting what she deserved".
I'm gonna keep it real with you guys, I was considering deleting this last part of the post but I genuinely think it needs to be said, Lanolin's hate feels SO deeply rooted in sexism. Espically with all the talk of her "getting what she deserved". I'm so stuck on that because it feels so... gross. Saying you want her cooked. Saying you want her dead. Feels so gross. She's a teenager, most likely. Even then she openly acknowledges she's inexperienced.
She's learning, let her learn. Like everyone is letting Surge learn.
Tumblr media
Am I saying everyone who hates Lanolin is a sexist? No. Am I saying that Lanolin would've been given more slack if she was a man? Abso-fucking-lutely.
WHOA that got super serious real quick haha! Well!!!! That's the post! Sorry guys I tried to keep this one light hearted but I genuinely felt like I had to get that last part off of my chest. I really hope the next "character deep dive" I make is more light hearted. Thank you for reading!

Lanolin The Sheep
Well since the new issue dropped I decided "hey why not throw gasoline onto an open flame?" so this is my totally unwanted take on Lanolin, her characterization, and how I think issue 63 and beyond could've been fixed by swapping two characters roles around so uh-- Yeah! (Also light spoilers for the newest issue/issue 69 but only the Lanolin portion/the stuff you've probably already seen/read.) tbh, this is kind of a fix-it/wishful thinking/thoughts I hope the writers have in mind in the future for issues going forward as steering Lanolin back to being a "likeable (but bossy)" character is going to be difficult. And is also so I can get my own thoughts out of my head.
Anyway here goes (sorry if I don't articulate my points succinctly in advance btw) I think Whisper shouldn't have been the one to see "Duo" kick Silver but Tangle. Like swap Tangle and Whisper in the story kind of- (trust me I'm going somewhere with this) and here's my reasoning.
Tangle doesn't wear a mask that records what she sees unlike Whisper. So if it was Tangle who saw Silver get kicked she wouldn't be able to jump right to "It's Mimic" or at least she wouldn't have any reason to believe it was Mimic (even at the "eyes changing color" topic. Albeit this should be used to make her suspicious which leads to them spying on Duo.)
Now I think it should've been Tangle and Silver spying on Duo rather then Whisper and Silver for two reasons: First- Tangle's been shown to be actually really bad at stealth. (Ms. Sneak Sneak song, anyone?) So it makes sense that Lanolin would know they were spying on the cat the whole day. Secondly- It doesn't make Whisper look like she's bad at stealth when she's the literal SNIPER. (Like seriously- half the job of sniping is hiding! It doesn't make that much sense that she'd be bad at it and I wholly blame Silver for getting them caught.)
Of course they get caught (Tangle and Silver) by Lanolin and now it's here I'd like to veer a bit more into her characterization and how she handles her interactions with the cast (Specifically Tangle). Which is with a level of reserve/mild dislike in the form of Tangle. Let's not kid ourselves here Tangle and Lanolin don't get along as much as we (and Tangle herself) would like too. Tangle's bouncy and energetic, Lanolin's a no-nonsense spoilsport so it would make sense if she doesn't believe Tangle or heck even dismisses her in regards to Duo after the incident earlier with Silver. (As this would be an actual "he said, she said" situation unlike in canon where the mask that records is right there- seriously if it doesn't come up in canon or is otherwise properly addressed in the story I'm gonna be really disappointed.)
Anyway Lanolin doesn't like Tangle, that's the baseline we're going with here. (Or at the most generous reading Lanolin finds Tangle to be "taxing".) Point is the two aren't nearly as good of friends and Lanolin's dedication the job would be more substantial here as nobody by this point has any reason to suspect Duo is Mimic.
So cue the argument, Whisper shows up/comes to defend Tangle when Lanolin inevitably tries to lecture/chastise her and Silver claiming the lemur would have no reason to be suspicious without good cause. The argument continues and BOOM! Tangle drops the tidbit that Silver said that Duo's eyes changed color and now Whisper's suspicious. Leading Whisper to try and shove past Lanolin, now also a bit more paranoid. Cue the whole "act like soldiers not children" line with Lanolin grabbing Whisper first and the scuffle ensues with Duo rushing off and Silver "hurting" him when nobody's focused on them.
Now why do I feel like it should be set-up like this instead of how it was in canon? Well obviously because in canon Whisper should've also been punished like Silver. Possibly just as severely but isn't because again- plot. (Like c'mon, Whisper technically assaults a commanding officer, she should have gotten in some trouble regardless of context.) But with how this is set-up now Lanolin instigated the fight by grabbing Whisper so punishing the wolf for the fight is out of the question and Tangle would like in canon- rush to Whisper's side once she was downed, not fighting at all meaning beyond stalking their new recruit Tangle didn't do anything worthy of getting "kicked out" for.
Meaning Silver getting kicked out still happens (hey, got to find some way to make it end the same way it did, right?) But now Tangle and Lanolin have more reason to be antagonistic towards one another. Leading to the most recent issue where Tangle and Lanolin are dealing with Sonic and co. after the boards went haywire. (Like I said super minor 69 spoiler.)
Ergo I think Lanolin's character arc should've be more focused on her actually viewing her friends as well- friends. And I feel like exploring the relationship she has with Tangle is probably the best way to go about it because of how they've interacted so far. (Or use the lemur who more then likely would forgive her in ten seconds to get the sheep a bit more on the others wavelength.)
That's just my thoughts on the whole debacle concerning Lanolin and I really do hope the writers figure out a way to make Lanolin enjoyable to read again cause right now she just comes off a little mean-spirited with little reasoning for her actions beyond "strung-up military type" (Which is a great trope btw and it can be written extremely well). I guess I really just hope they nail down the blocks making up her character in a satisfying way.
Anyway this all just sorta popped into my head after reading issue 69 and glancing in Twitter's general direction for five seconds I just hope this riders arc ends up being really good because Eggman's drip is (As Starline would put it) Immaculate.

Talk Derby to Me
Alright, another Juliet ep, and it’s… fine. It has some good moments. Im trying really hard not to be nitpicky but its only because it had so much potential to be one of their best eps, but instead, it falls a little…flat. BUT this is a great opportunity to finally talk about juliet! So ill do it in two parts: the first, discussing juliet in the ep, and the second, who she is in the show.
So, to be completely honest, part of the reason this episode is kind of meh for me, is that the acting from our supporting players and even a bit from maggie, kind of takes me out of it. The one time i believed juliet was a badass though, was when she was protected shawn, but at that point shes not trying to be a roller derby girl. Shes just being her badass cop self. I think her undercover work gets better as the show progresses so this isn’t necessarily a criticism, but more of an acknowledgment of where she started at.
Tumblr media
Juliet is adorable in this ep, though. Plus i like that her and shawn both got to give the chief the wrap-up in the end.
Tumblr media
I wish juliet would have gotten an aha! moment and more participation in the solve. Like, sure, have shawn put it together in the end, he is our main character, but i think she could have gotten part of it at least, in her own way. For instance, she could have seen the green lubricant too and put it together that it was wilde, then gave that clue to shawn. Yes, she did find the scanners, but then immediately asks shawn about them instead of taking a second to work it out herself. I think this would’ve helped make them feel like more of a team, since it was mentioned explicitly by the chief. I think this is why it feels too much like a girl power ep and not a roller derby ep for me. That could also be a product of the format though, since the shows focus is shawn (and gus) after all. Plus, again, i think they get better at this (theres a moment coming up this season that ill mention specifically)
I think they could have developed the tension a bit more between juliet and shawn too, since her being “bossy” was part of the drama of the ep. Though, i dont understand why shawn didn’t tell her from the beginning it was a music video and was instead telling her to trust him blindly. I think instead, they should have gone one of two ways with this:
1. shawn tells her its a music video, but juliet cant, as a cop, ignore a lead simply because he “divined” it, then when she gets in trouble we could see shawn feeling guilty that he couldn’t prove it to her without casting doubt on his ability and thats why he takes the blame.
2. they could’ve had shawn try more tactics at distracting her with romance, and have her tell him essentially that now was not the time and ask for more support from him in solving the case instead of trying to woo her. Which again, would provide a reason for him to take the fall for the music video debacle.
Also its chivalrous, i guess, for shawn to take the blame but it kind of goes against juliets character not to be honest. I wish they wouldve let her come clean. That being said, it was funny to watch juliet in the background staring at shawns feet and then snickering at lassies expense.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, overall, i love juliet as a character! I love that they didn’t try to make her this like super badass and unrealistic woman. Juliet is flawed, and fun, and naive, and tough, and competitive, and feminine, and proud, and sweet. Actually, my favorite thing about her is just how sweet she is because of how that contrasts with her job. She is a full person and not just a love interest or plot foil to shawn. She would still be an important character to the show even if shawn wasn’t in love with her. Plus, how they portray juliet gets better and better as the seasons progress- or at least thats my memory of it, so im curious if thats still the case years later.
Obviously im going to talk about this moment:
Tumblr media
I hated it.
Just kidding. It’s cute ☺️ but imo, not entirely earned in the episode, though certainly more earned than their almost kiss in bounty hunters. Personally, i would have preferred this moment to be more of a friends vibe, and have them like laughing together over him falling on his ass or something- but im a sucker for the friends to lovers trope so thats my own bias haha
I randomly heard one of the background ladies roller derby name was Miss-anthropy and its arguably the best one there and its not even a main character.
Lastly, the fact that shawn could take Gus’s test for him and pass, is honestly incredibly impressive and its so funny to me that its played for laughs. Like gus didn’t go how the hell did you pass that test without studying? But is straight up pissed because he had him fret over it all week for no reason. This goes to show though (because i doubt he opened a book) that Shawns been paying attention to gus’ little explanations and studies :)
Heres a random thought, do you think Gus was ever jealous that Shawn could remember stuff so easily? Like, as they were growing up, and gus is fretting over his studies for hours, only to find that his best friend didn’t have to study at all and simply remembered everything the teacher said but didn’t care enough to try- like personally i would be pissed lol. Gus is smart in his own right, but its not without hard work.
P.S
This moment is always a highlight for some reason haha idk why exactly, its barely a joke

Day 23 ~ Flowers
Tumblr media
On the day of Pete and Penny’s wedding you wanted your hair braided with flowers in it. (Reader = 16)
“Come on dad we are going too late to your own wedding. Move it.” You giggled as he quickly walks towards the church doors. “Okay little missy, whose fault will that be huh?” he sassed back as he stopped before the church and you just smiled at him and shrug your shoulders. “Not mine I was done hours ago.” He said again with a teasing smile. “Someone had a problem with everything that they did with your hair.”
“Okay first of all you were done half an hour ago. Second of all I wanted a specific look for my hair okay.” You sassed with a grin. “Thirdly if they listened to me the first time they wouldn’t have to change my hair the whole time. Fourthly I can be a bit mean so that is why I apologised the whole time I was sitting in that chair.” You grinned up at your father.
Tumblr media
“No that is not what I wanted. Please fix it.” You said at the stylist with a sigh lifting your shoulders to work out the kinks. “I want it moved up please and the flowers must be like the image I showed you.” You pleaded and the stylist just nodded. “Sorry for being so demanding but I have wanted my hair like this more a while and I want it perfect.” You said with a guilty look on your face. “It’s really no problem miss Mitchell. You are one of the calmer client’s hair I have done.” She teased and you just giggled.
“Okay thanks.” You said and she started back on your hair. A while later your dad walked into the room with a grin on his face. “Are you still busy? I could use some help.” He asked holding up a tie. “Give us like 10 minutes mister Mitchell then she is all yours.” With that your dad nodded and you looked at him in the mirror. “Why don’t you ask one of the guys to help you dad.” You question with a confused look on your face.
“Oh yeah I forgot about those guys.” He said rubbing his hand over his face. “Was this just a scheme to see how far I am or if I am being a bit of a control freak.” You asked with an eyebrow raised and he just laughed. “You caught me. Just wanted to see if she hasn’t pulled out your hair for being such a bossy teen.” He chuckled and the stylist just giggled. “Hey!” you exclaimed with a finger pointing at Pete. “I will have you know…” you started but cut yourself off when you had nothing to say. “Yeah that is what I thought.” Maverick said and the hair stylist just giggled along with you.
“Okay get back to your boys I will be done in a while then I will come and find you.” You said pointing at the closed door. He nodded and off he went. “Dads.” You sighed with a small smile and Amy just nodded. “Yes that is exactly what I wanted.” You said looking in the mirror. “Thank you so much Amy. I love it. Again I am so sorry for being so demanding.” You said hugging your arms to your chest looking at yourself. “No problem Y/N. I am glad you like it like this.” She smiled at you.
Tumblr media
“Okay dad let’s get you married.” You said as Amelia joined you at the door. “Mom is almost here so you can go in so long Pete. And you my future sister look super beautiful.” Amelia gushed looking at you. “And you my future little sister look absolutely stunning.” You giggled gushing about her beautiful baby blue dress. “Okay ladies let get this show on the road.” Pete said looking at his watch seeing that it is almost three o’ clock. “Good luck dad. I will see you inside.” You said hugging the man and pushing him towards the doors. “Okay behave you two.” He wiggled his finger and you and Amelia just laugh at his antics. “Get inside old man.” “Hey!” he yelled. This caused you and Amelia to burst out laughing as Pete walked away shaking his head muttering about teens and giving him grey hair.

Fuyuhiko And Nagito Witn An S/O Who Uses Dark Humour
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu X Reader Nagito Kamoeda
Requested: Anon
Request: Hello again, Do you mind if i request headcanon Nagito and Fuyuhiko from Danganronpa with s/o who is play joke (sometime it is dark humors) anytime to hide her true feeling because she don't want everyone to worry about her?
Bossy anon
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu
🐉 When he first met you the humor annoyed him, he honestly just found it an inconvenience to an investigation or discussion that happened around you. 🐉 He’d often tell you to stop talking or that listening to what you said would be a waste of time. 🐉 There have been a few times that he promised to carry out whatever you had joked about but that only seemed to make it worse. 🐉 When you got to know each other better and he was more receptive to having friends he worried more, he kept a better eye on you and noting whenever you disappeared so that he could go looking for you. 🐉 However he started actually asking you if you were okay when you started dating, he worried far more after you became official but you looked at him like he was confused. 🐉 With your lighter jokes, he’ll often just roll his eyes as you laugh loudly, holding your stomach and struggling to stand. 🐉 He preferred these jokes but they were never easy to clean up and while he might laugh at something you do sometimes he’ll make sure that you're the one that cleans it up and also makes you apologise if the victim of the prank didn’t find it funny. 🐉 He was very aware of you so he made sure that you were somewhere he could see you so he’d never become the victim of one of your plans. 🐉 He often became the victim of a specific prank, one where you didn’t answer the door straight away, he almost always worried that something had happened to you and almost broke the door down but you’d always open the door smiling wide and skipping past him like nothing happened. 🐉 “Will you stop that!?” “Where’s the fun in that?”
Tumblr media
Nagito Komaeda
🍀 Nagito thought of you a lot after your first meeting, you were the only person that he seemed to understand given his own true feelings. 🍀 His coping mechanism was a little more tiring than yours and he found himself leaning on your own tricks to get himself through the day as well. 🍀 Nagito never directly involved himself unless he was the victim but you very rarely targeted him for whatever reason. 🍀 He never scolded you or asked you if you were okay because he could often tell what was going on with you, just by looking at you. 🍀 He was basically just a bystander before you started dating. 🍀 When you started dating Nagito would take most of the heat off of you and redirect it to himself a lot of the time not that anyone ever understood that, eventually it became fair knowledge that if Nagito claimed to have done it then you were probably the real culprit. 🍀 It didn’t take long for him to start joining you in your little jokes, it was one of the only times that he’d really smile, mostly because he could see a true smile on your face at his participation. 🍀 People were wary of being around you when you were together because you were always planning something and you were both very good at keeping secrets when you wanted to. 🍀 You could both go back and forth with dark humour if the time called for it with everyone around you wishing that you’d both shut up because they’ve never been more worried about either of you in their lives. 🍀 “What are you planning, little clover?” “Just a little prank, do you want to join me?”

Okay, I watched the live-action One Piece.
I actually don't hate it.
(Mostly.)
the things they did wrong
The fishmen. The makeup is really, really horrible. They went for "realistic"-looking skin and it just does. not. work. And the prosthetics are just bad. Really, really bad. Arlong isn't big enough. He keeps threatening to bite people but his mouth is so small relative to the rest of his face (especially because of said prosthetics) so you can't really take it seriously. It's just bad, y'all.
The den den mushi. Sooooooooooo creepy. The texture is awful and they need better puppetry.
The emotional moments don't quite hit it like the original story does. Each of my absolute favourite moments from the original have been changed juuuuuuuust enough to not give quite the same punch.
Luffy doesn't feel like Luffy. There's a very specific sort of whimsy that Luffy exudes and this guy just doesn't have it. To be fair! it is a very difficult thing to pull off! But it's also, like ... really integral to the whole story. He's got the wrong kind of smile and we never hear him giggle. He should be 100% guileless and he's just not quite there. Nami doesn't feel like Nami. She's not expressive enough, or bossy enough. She keeps trying to be the holding-everything-in-stoically type and that's just not Nami. She holds back as far as information goes, especially in the beginning, but her feelings are pretty much on her sleeve otherwise. Zoro's personality is off just a bit. He's just a bit too grumpy. We see him smile like twice. We never see him get really excited, and the one time he gets moderately excited he's still pretty stone-faced about it. Also, not letting him get genuinely happy about booze makes him come off less as really enjoying one vice and more just being a sad alcoholic. And he doesn't fully commit to the crew soon enough. He's the type to be all or nothing, so he needs to be all in from the get-go. Sanji can't do a French accent, which is kind of hilarious because he just sort of goes for An Accent and so he'll start a sentence with something that's, like, vaguely British? but then if the sentence is long enough he'll find Vaguely French halfway through.
Everyone is too old. Kaya is supposed to be 18 but that actress is in her 30s for sure. Even the kids are kids that are too old for the parts they need to play.
Except for Mihawk, who's a bit too young. Also his fake beard doesn't look great.
Some of the effects for things like Luffy stretching and Buggy coming apart. Again, tbf, this was always something that would be a problem in a live-action recreation, so it's only a minor annoyance. But there's definitely a couple of little things they could have changed that would have made a big difference in believability.
A lot of the crowd shots have a case of Main Character Syndrome. This actually helps the audience pick out important people at Gold Roger's execution, but it's kind of funny when you see Zoro among his classmates at the dojo or Nami and Nojiko with the rest of Coco Village and are like "HMMM I WONDER WHO THE MAIN CHARACTER COULD BE."
Trying a bit too hard to interconnect everything. They keep both Buggy and Arlong relevant for too long (Buggy by keeping him after his arc, Arlong by having him show up early). Garp being around for the whole show is sort of interesting and funny but it makes me wonder if they're even planning on getting to Water 7, and how they're gonna do that if they do.
the things they did right
Verbally acknowledging Zoro as the first mate. The original never dies that even though he totally is.
The wanted posters. They did a great job of recreating the posters, and the little effects they do overlaying them when they introduce new characters is fun.
Pretty much everyone's physicality. Especially Zoro and Sanji. They're very accurate to the original. Just the way Zoro stands and walks is 100% Zoro. Captain Kuro managed to be cool and creepy instead of looking stupid. Usopp's face is surprisingly spot-on.
On a related note, the fight scenes were well-choreographed. And there were a few cool shots where the camera followed someone who was jumping around.
Anything that can be a practical effect is a practical effect. It doesn't always pay off *cough* fishmen and den den mushi *cough* but it usually does, and I very much appreciate the effort.
Each arc is one episode long. 'Nuff said. Y'all know how long these damn arcs can stretch.
The Vibes. They did a really, really good job of making it ridiculous without making it ridiculous, if you know what I mean. A lot of that is thanks to the abundance of practical effects. A lot more is the lighting. They also had fun with camera angles and focus/blur to just keep things feeling not-quite-real in a way that helps rather than hinders the suspension of disbelief. They also made the show overall darker than the original, which I usually hate but in this case it really works: You can't take things like the Chop Chop Fruit or Zoro's penchant for cutting people up out of a cartoon and into a live-action without it automatically getting creepier, so leaning in to that was absolutely the right choice. It also kind of made Buggy's arc feel more real and high-stakes.
All the little details. There were a lot of them. All the characters are at least vaguely the correct nationality from Oda's Q&A tidbits. When Zoro is laid up, Nami reads him Liar Norland. You can see Mihawk's ship in the bay outside of Roger's execution. At one point you can hear "Binks' Sake" playing in the background. Just about every single costume was accurate to the original, and the sets were incredibly detailed. There are so many little details in every single bit of it that tell you that the people who made this were paying attention, and frankly that alone makes me far more inclined to forgive any mistakes I feel they've made.

Note
Lol, so this is basically an explanation for the headcanon(s) I have for the Dobbs siblings via a whole analysis of the games and realistic situations. I randomly think up entire backstories for the most obsure characters. But I know you'll understand because I was the anon who had the 'Lisa Conspiracy'! Hope you like what my brain cooked up!
After seeing both canon and fanon interpretations of the Dobbs siblings (mostly Sally, for that matter), I feel like reading in between the lines leads to a pretty grim situation for them, at least in my opinion. After listening to Sally's voicelines in the character section of the '97 and '98 games specifically, she says that 'she is very mature for her age'. which causes me to imagine that the reason her and Ronny's dynamic is how it's shown in the games is because at one point Sally had to mentally or emotionally mature more quickly than her peers. And with how little is said about their parents, I can still imagine that their parents are not really the BEST for them. I'm not saying they are totally abusive, because I doubt such a serious thing would be on the back-burner in a sports video game for kids. I just think they are negligent in the sense that they could possibly believe that it is the older sibling's job to take care of the younger sibling. And that they don't think or are aware of how this can take a toll on Sally and Ronny.
When listening to Sally's voicelines in any game that she is in, she is either asking about, scolding or going on about how 'fragile' Ronny is, She also talks down to the player the way someone her age would believe a person of authority would (for comedic purposes, but it is also related to my point, so I'll include it) and once again talks about how mature and responsible she is. While she may be too young to understand that taking on parental responsibilities as a CHILD isn't exactly a good thing, I headcanon that she hides her anxious and unheard feelings about her parents and having to take care of Ronny. which could lead to potential negative feelings towards Ronny??
For Ronny, However, I headcanon that he is too young to understand the place that Sally was put in, and instead views her as an overly annoying older sister, which is why he tries to rebel so much as he can for someone as young as he is.
Hi anon,
Yeah I 110% agree with a lot of this. I can honestly see Sally (and Ronny to an extent) dealing with something like this, based on in-game lore (and headcanons). I would imagine that the parents are either slightly negligent, or they are too busy to raise two kids (they probably both have jobs), or both, so they just end up putting most, if not all, of their responsibilities into Sally's hands. That probably explains why Sally is so bossy towards him, aside from the fact that she is a kid; in a way, she probably takes out some of her stress on Ronny by bossing him around, which leads to a domino effect-type thing where Ronny finds Sally "mean" and wants to avoid being around her. This headcanon makes the Dobbs siblings' lore much darker in hindsight.
I also think that several of the characters deal with some form of trauma in different ways, and the Dobbs siblings are FAR from being an exception. I have also heard some people say that the Delvecchios also deal with trauma.
Thank you so much for sharing this headcanon, anon!
(And again, the Lisa headcanon makes sense too!)
(also my apologies if my response is poorly worded.)

Dumb rant, and I'm fully aware I'm not a perfect human being, and I can be a jack ass at times
Also, this is the account my friends don't know about
(SA trigger warning ⚠️ and SH warning ⚠️)
For context, i was screwed over for the entirety of my first ever relationship(6 months). I didn't tell any of my friends the messed-up things my ex did. When i finally broke down and told my best friend(a HIGHLY sugar coated verson of hSAing me), he told me I had to break up with my bf (no shit, been trying to for 3 months at this point). When I finally did, my ex was completely an asshole about it and tried to gilt trip me. Thankfully, I used some of the techniques from therapy and was able to cope.
This is where the current problem started(last November). After breaking up with my ex and telling everyone, "He was a jurck, and I do NOT want to elaborate." Some of my friends didn't get the memo. Specifically, 2 of them.
(Friend 1) was in a club with my ex and friends with him. When she found out she (despite the fact that i was vulnerable and actively crying) tried to GUILT TRIP ME INTO TELLING HER!!! When I say that, I mean despite the fact that my ex was known to make 'krill your self jokes' towards my best friend, and i said I broke up with him for treating my poorly, she INSISTED that I MUST tell her specifically why I broke up with him so she can decide whether she wants to stop being friends with him or not. (I never said she had to stop), and it was like 2 seconds after she found out we broke up) She felt that she was entitled to knowing because he was her friend and she had a right to this knowledge( for some fucking reason) and wouldn't take "ask him" for a answer.
Then my wanna be mom friend (friend 2 is really just bossy) decided to join in. She kept insisting I tell everyone on why because how are my friends supposed to help me (I didn't want help, I wanted to cry and be by myself). (Friend 2) tried to make it sound like she just wanted to help, but she has a track record of getting people to open up and then dumping them on to other people. She constantly tells people they need to get better at setting boundaries when all she dose is break them. This friend also trys to act like they are a "therapist" when their one of the only people in the group who haven't even taken a psychology class.
The breaking point was my BEST FRIEND agreeing with them. (He really just wanted me to feel like I could confide in them if I wanted to).
So despite not wanting to air out my dirty laundry and be known as someone who let herself get SA, I give in after saying no multiple times, I tell them.
Then, because I'm such a mess, I confide in my one friend, only for him to start flirting with me and saying how he would never hurt me like my abusive ex so I think he is a safe person. Only when we start dating, he completely changes. He makes fun of my getting SA. He is rude and controlling. He tries to talk for me constantly. And I found out that he cheated on his ex, AND he was still with his ex when he started flirting with me. He also lied about no longer being friends with my ex. I end up breaking up with him after a week, and he is still convinced we're getting back together (since last December).
Once winter break started, I proceeded to lose months of progress from therapy(definitely not good). Won't go into too many details, but I started SH again after months of work, and now my clean streak is ruined.
I've been back at school for 3 days. Day one, I accidentally let it slip that I was mad at someone other than my ex. My best friend forced me to tell him. I told him about our 2 friends and he agreed that it wasn't cool. The next day, we get into a stupid argument. I'm a loud person, sure, but I wasn’t yelling at him.
He mentioned (friend 1) being upset.
I say I didn’t care because she was rude.
He takes that as me thinking (friend 1) was because for venting in the group chat and is condescending when telling me that she wasn't rude.
I think he means in general, and I get upset because gilt tripping is MEAN. So I get defensive.
He's upset that I'm mad and apologize for not understanding, but he doesn't lose the hostility.
I'm upset, want to cry, and was all worked up. I think who cares and confusion dealt with, but I'm still frustrated. I say 'whatever' and end up leaving cause he needs to catch his bus, and I need to meet up with my ride
He's upset shouting something about saying he was sorry as I'm walking
And I'm like,'doesn't even matter. I'm not doing this right now.
When I got how I cooled off. I texted him an apology and offered to sit somewhere else at lunch. I was left on 'delivered' and assumed he was busy. When I returned, I saw that he vented on his Tumbler that are friends fallow him on about how shitty his day was and how his 'best friend' yelled at him for no rest and he mentioned that I 'apologized but now I wanted to sit somewhere else for lunch' he would only know that if he read my text. He was too petty to click on my message and mark it as read and still blow up about what I said on his Tumbler. I sent another apology and explained that I didn't want to upset him more by sitting with him. IM STILL LEFT ON FUCKING DELIVERED! I say fuck it we'll fix it tomorrow we alway do he just needs space right now.
Today I didn't see him in the morning because his bus was late. I didn't see him at lunch when my friend and I looked for him before getting lunch. I shot him a total of 3 new texts today, saying that I hope he made it to school safely and that the group was going to the commissary.
I walk to my next class missing my best friend only to see him in the hall way. He ate lunch alone. So I'm asking I'd he's ok and he brushes my off. I then say that I was sorry in person this time and say that he doesn't have to forgive me...
I go to advisory, and I'm trying not to cry the whole 90 minutes. At the end of the day, I go to return his jacket to him(i always wear his jacket). he acts cold to me and tells me he doesn't want it. So I leave and try not to cry.
He's condescending and rude and says that he knows I'm sorry cause I sent him 900 messages. 8 over the span of 2 days isn't a lot(we normally spam each other with hearts), and he left me on delivered for all of them. We go to our class, and since it's an online class (we're all on laptops), he asked to work in the other room(we sit next to each other in that class). So there I was sitting there by myself on the verge of tears the entire time. When I saw him in the hall, he made it obvious that he wasn't looking at me.
I'm still left on delivered BTW

Chapter 12 temperature
The temperature had dropped so much by the time they reached the valley that Eiara's teeth were chattering and she shivered so hard she began to stumble on the path.
Loklan, too, had begun to suffer from the cold.
He didn't shiver, but his limbs grew cumbersome. His blood seemed to pump more slowly.
It was a short enough walk to the nearest greenhouse structure, but the temperature was well below freezing and Loklan didn't want to risk any more time in the elements. He scooped Eiara up and carried her the rest of the way in long, purposeful strides, forcing his cold muscles to work.
The earth here was flat and dry—hard-packed like the mountain path instead of soft and sandy as it had been on the cave side.
Eiara didn't even protest being carried. She just curled against him and continued to shiver.
"We shouldn't have dallied," he grumbled, clutching her closer. "That was idiotic."
"It was w-wonderful," she said into his neck, muffled by the hood. "I'd d-do it again in a h-heartbeat."
"Shut up," he said, without sting. "Save your energy."
"I l-like it when you're bossy."
Loklan smiled despite himself.
The first greenhouse structure was enormous—big enough to house fully grown trees of nearly any variety—though many of its cloudy panels were missing or broken.
There was no door on the side where they approached, so he walked along the panels until he found one with a crack in it.
Eiara jumped when he kicked it in. It made a sound like an iceberg cracking; the glass was thick and crystalline in structure. He'd seen the technology before. The panels were powered using spells, so the sunlight could be filtered to specific parameters.
He stepped inside with Eiara's torch spell trailing behind him.
The woman in his arms lifted her head and gave a soft, regretful, "Oh."
Inside the towering structure, the earth had been tilled and planted. The corpses of hundreds of trees stood like skeletons in long rows, their branches dark and leafless.
It was warmer inside. Eiara wiggled in his arms and he put her down.
"I w-wonder why they all died," she murmured. Her hand slipped into his, fingers still icy.
He folded her fingers in his, but Loklan's own flesh was too cold to warm her. He felt stiff and slow. He'd never experienced such cold before. Was this how lizards felt before they crawled from their cold dens to sun themselves in the mornings?
"It was a terraforming project," he said. "I’m not sure why, but Elandan put a stop to it. The Asatyri had to leave halfway through. I guess the trees couldn’t survive without them."
She sighed, gazing at the branches above them.
"You're still shivering. Let me carry you."
"I'm fine. Walking will warm me up." She gestured toward the opposite end of the building. "Let's go find a way inside."
Grudgingly, he let it go and they walked together between two of the rows. Eria's hand warmed slowly in his. By the time they reached the wide double doors on the opposite wall, she wasn't shivering anymore, and some of the stiffness had melted from Loklan's joints.
"Please don't let it be locked," she muttered.
"It won't be. There's nothing to keep out."
"Good point."
Loklan released her hand and strode up to the doors. They slid open the moment he touched the panel.
"Is there still power?" Eiara exclaimed.
As if in answer, the lights in the hallway beyond flickered laboriously on.
"Must be solar." Loklan stepped into the broad passage and looked both ways. "Three doors," he said. "Judging by the view from up the mountain, that one—" he pointed to the door at the end of the long hallway, "—leads to another greenhouse. One of these others ought to be the entrance to living quarters." He looked back at Eiara. "Shall we split up?"
She tilted her head to one side. "What if one of us finds a table?"
It took him a moment to figure out what the hell she was talking about.
Cheeky woman.
"Eiara, you need rest. You're recovering from hypothermia."
"You promised, though."
He fought not to smile. "I most certainly did not. I threatened."
"You can't renege on it now, Loklan. I really had my hopes up," she said reasonably.
"I can't renege because I made no promise," he returned. "We'll make use of a table tomorrow."
She gave a deep, martyred sigh and followed him into the building.
"Which one?" he asked, having decided arbitrarily that they wouldn't split up after all.
Eiara didn't question it. She took his hand again and pointed to the door on the left.
It opened into a large storage room with shelves and shelves of metal crates, each one labeled in the language of Asatyru.
"They're seeds," she said, looking at the nearest shelf.
"Hmm. Best try the other door then."
Sure enough, the second door led to a series of underground living quarters cut directly into the earth and lined with smooth grey stone. There were four units, each one branching from a large central room with a kitchen, dining area, and lounge, clearly designed to accommodate several families. Affluent ones, if he wasn't mistaken. The units themselves had generous living spaces and several bedrooms apiece. Everything was furnished simply enough, though with quite luxurious materials—similar to Eladani style, but with softer, earthier tones: greens and browns, copper and bronze metalwork, polished wooden bed frames and couches with silk upholstered cushions, heavy woven blankets with rich forest imagery.
"Where are the baths?" Eiara wondered after they'd toured the second unit.
"Good question."
They went back to the kitchens and found another sliding panel in the floor that led down into a startlingly elaborate community bath. The broad rectangular pool was lined with brightly painted tiles and the ceiling had been carved into a series of graceful arches, each one decorated with more tiles.
"Well, this is decadent." Eiara bent to test the water. "It's warm!"
"Must be spring-fed. That or they hooked it up to the greenhouse system and they've been piping in solar heat. Toilets are over here." He pointed to another panel. "Seems there's no need to return to the cave, hm?"
Straightening, she smiled at him. "Fancy another bath?"
Without waiting for an answer, she started stripping, hanging her cloak and tunic on the hooks set into the wall beside the entrance.
Loklan watched her peel off the leggings with a combination of lust and reluctance. The lights in the metal wall sconces were soft and warm, which made her skin glow a rich, golden hue.
"If I get into the bath with you, there will be more than bathing," he warned.
Her only response to that was another smile. "Do you think there's some soap around here somewhere?"
Loklan tore his gaze away from her delicious body and turned to scan the room. There were several showers on the wall to the right of the pool. Beneath each spout was a small shelf.
"Here," he said, crossing to the showers. Two of the shelves held partially used bars of soap. Loklan turned one of the taps and then moved aside as water gushed from the spout above.
"It's warm," he said, letting the water splash off his fingers.
Eiara appeared beside him and stepped under the spray. He watched for a while as she let the water sluice over her head and down her back, sighing happily. He'd never really gotten a look at her body in full light, so he took his time with it.
He hadn't been exaggerating when he'd said her breasts were exceptional. They were firm and perfectly formed: very round and gently upturned. Soft, slightly puffy nipples that only protruded when touched or suckled. And the color drove him wild, for some reason. Her areolas were almost the same color as her skin, but the very tips of her nipples were pink. Every time he looked at them he wanted to suck them—to bite and pull and generally abuse the tender little things. She’d healed herself today and his bite marks were gone.
He ached to make new ones.
No woman had ever inspired such sexual aggression in him. No man, either. It puzzled him, though not unduly. Perhaps it was because of her size. She was quite petite compared to most Eladani women. There was an elegant sort of symmetry to her limbs that many women lacked, though. An exquisite balance between feminine softness and athleticism. She could stand to put on a few pounds—her ribs stood out a bit and her belly didn't have the rounded softness he favored—but even so, her hips and thighs made his mouth water. And her arse...Goddess. Sweet little upside-down heart. Firm and smooth.
With a week or two of proper diet, she would be positively maddening to look at. Even better to touch. Just thinking about it made his blood pressure rise.
Now and then he thought about how they must look together—this gorgeous, coppery little priestess and he, with his violet skin and reptilian eyes.
But she looked at him like he was beautiful. Touched him like she couldn't get enough, scales and all. He was starting to believe this form was beautiful. Then again, if she liked him as a Zenopelti, he couldn't help thinking that she would come to want his Eladani form even more.
And for some reason, that made him not want to change back. He didn't want her to prefer white skin to lavender. Was that crazy? The sight of his body—his fingers, his cock, his hips thrust against her—had become a special sort of pleasure.
Purple against copper, Zenopelti to Asatyri, monster and woman—the contrast made him wild.
Perhaps he was developing some sort of fetish. That would explain the insatiable, overpowering quality of his need for her.
Then again, he also wanted to kiss her and hold her hand and cuddle her mercilessly—none of which were entirely sexual urges, he'd begun to realize.
But he didn’t pursue the thought any further.
Eiara picked up the soap then and turned to him with her hair slicked back and little beads of moisture clinging to her eyelashes. "Wash me?"
He growled. "You know where this leads."
"Yes, I do." She looked down at the front of his trousers. "We're halfway there already."
"I told you. Tomorrow."
"I'm perfectly fine," she said, smiling. "I promise. You could use some rest though."
"Oh, really? And yet here you are playing seductress."
"I said you need rest, not that you're too depleted for sex. The cold doesn't seem to have done any harm to your system. You're perfectly capable of making love to me again." She held out the soap to him.
"I know I am," he drawled, taking the bar from her. Then he leaned one shoulder against the wall and gave her a smug look. "But I haven't got any rope."
She surprised him by flushing a little bit, but her green-brown gaze remained direct. "You're strong enough to hold my wrists in one hand."
His body pulsed with need. Blasted woman. One day of making love to her and he was already addicted.
"Not here," he growled. "I want you in a bed."
"Don't forget about the table."
Loklan started stripping. "Believe me, I won't.

Werebelushi:
I am just going to clarify this…I have never been transphobic and neither has Nathan, what happened with my anime rant was that I was actually specifically saying I found it odd that some anime tf writers used two pronouns, I was not refering to anyone and I am not lying to cover up my own ass here, what I am saying is the truth. The only reason I didn't like the anime tfs I had read is because of the mind changes, look I have nothing against commissions, far from it, it's just stuff like character tfs where the victim's mind shifts and stuff like Avianine's work that makes me hate those kind of transformation.
I know Avianine's fans love commissioning their OCs to be her latest victims but I view that they all portray their OCs as to stupid to know any better, I mean come on…Deiser gets his human OC transformed by her almost every time and he should have by now not to touch items she owns or makes. Here's the thing, when Nathan commented on those pictures he was in character and he admits he is ashamed to admit he liked Avianine's work. He used to like it up until she started doing Changed, Avianine called him out for not liking her Changed stuff and called him bossy. Excuse me? Bossy? I'm sorry but Nathan only said he hates Puro related shit popping up on Deviantart and finds Changed to be creepy and overrated, and it's not like that comic got any better ever. Oh look, a random victim who likely is the commission er's OC standing around, oh look there's Ciel as Puro, oh look, here she comes, here she comes to strip them of their identity, oh no…Ciel is forcibly transfurring them and erasing their minds, oh gee look at them now they're transfurs and obey her every command.
Oh yeah how do I say this? They were all the same thing. A dragon OC turns up only to be turned into a non-flying transfur, we don't see him again afterwards. Brainy Kong's human counterpart turns up, he gets transfurred, and we don't see him again afterwards. There's a subplot about Ciel as Puro needing a host, that never gets brought up again. Oh look, there's a squiddog transformation, squid-dog transfur doesn't appear again afterwards. I could go on and on. Look, having a different opinion isn't harrassment. I dislike Forrest Gump, but do I hear people going 'Oh my god, you hate Forrest Gump, you're Tom Hanks-phobic!'? No I don't.
And before you say 'But doesn't Mel forcibly transform people against their will and brainwash them too?', I am going to say no because she is the opposite of Ciel, Ciel is clearly a villainous character who is viewed as a good person even though she does horribly shit to other people and forcibly transforms others regardless, and Mel is actually good, she is a good person who is sometimes villified or viewed as a pest because of her actions even though she's the city's heroine and she has to stop evil-doers in the monster world, she only punishes criminals and villains and is polite when it comes to transforming people. Mel wouldn't go up to someone and force someone to be stuck as a Pokemon, well she used to exclusively do it to people she didn't like, but specifically only people who have harmed her or her friends, or just characters she hates in general like the clown fetish guy or the world domination obsessed guy. And if she actually did go after anyone online, it was mainly uses on the Deviantart forum who in the past were assholes to Nathan just because Nathan, even on the praise forum he had this problem. Like one user who very much said that he was a 'tool' for roleplaying and did a bad joke to prove it…because hurr hurr get it, 'you should identify as a nail and a board because you're a tool, get it?'
And the stupid person who very much mocked him for a story he did which he admitted came out terrible due to what happened with one of his previous computers, you see that story was written on one of his previous computers before that computer crashed and he got hacked, hence why it came out a bit rushed in the end. He had no control over that really.
I simply must explain that what I said in my anime tf rant in its original form was a mistake and I admit I was being ignorant as to what being trans or bigender meant as I wasn't clued up, have I made a few mistakes like that in the past…yes, I have, but I learn. And also I am going to say this, people who act like using a character to vent is cowardly are stupid, like if you don't care about these rants why do you even bother commentating on them? Why do you act like there is a damn point to make in these? Look, this is a comedy rant show NOT a documentary. If you want a thorough intellectual indepth look at something or someone, just go on Youtube and watch video essays, I am not an essay writer, I don't 'write thoughtful analysises' I don't 'give TED talks', I don't do 'video essays', I am not here to give you insight on anything. This is a comedy show.
A comedy show with rather subjective material, yes but still a show. Here's the thing, if these people truly didn't care about my rants they wouldn't have commented on the first place, also I don't get how these people think 'vent art' is cowardly, like what is wrong with using a character to express your feelings? Yes I know using an avatar of a fictional character or a real person instead of a photo of yourself is an entirely different thing, but I didn't need to be lectured on it or given the 'cancer culture' treatment because of it.
I am just saying…wrestlers use personas, musicians have stage-names, actors have stage-names, reviewers have personas, it's common, trust me. I should be allowed to have my opinions. I don't care if these assholes have nothing better to do than to call someone a coward for using an OC, if they didn't care they shouldn't have commented.
Nathan's comment on that Pokemon drone headshot got a 'no one cares' comment on it and I immediately thought, well clearly you did care enough to comment about not caring about something that you clearly thought needed to be cared about. Here is the thing, Nathan was expressing his opinion, Nathan was clearly stating he finds drone tfs and drones to be creepy and also overrated, and the shark one…yeah, i'm sorry but he's right about sharks being an overrated tf species, like with bears.
It's like the only fish species to tf into that some people can think is a shark and that's it, probably because they think sharks are badass. Sorry, but Jaws lied to you. There are other fish species to tf into. I am going to give you this re-made version of my anime character tf rant to clarify things: 'These stories in question are commissioned to almost always be the same thing, some YCH of the artist who comissioned it being forcibly turned into an anime character and losing their minds to the transformation, please note I am not against the gender identities of any of these people, I am simply objecting to how these stories are done, if the artist asks for this, sure, I can buy that but there are some people who don't like mind changes who might be turned off by these type of stories. At the time of the original rant I wasn't familiar with the animes being used for the store so I apologize for being ignorant and stupid about it. I am just saying to those who don't like losing their minds, could they maybe get a version for them? The stories are decent, well-written, I just don't like the mind change element.'

“So damn bossy,” I say, smiling softly at you. I peck your lips once more, still getting up with you. I take your hand in mine, walking you towards the door and giving you a warning glare because I didn’t want to hear you lecturing me anymore about not going back to bed. “I can’t wait to rant and rave to him about how amazing in bed you are. He specifically suggested that he and Alexis take Noah for the night so I could wine and dine you. I think he just really wanted you to get laid,” I giggle softly. “Have a good day at work, my love. I am sure I will see your face at some point today when I stop by for my iced coffee. Although if Jess makes it again, I might throw a fit because he doesn’t make it as sweet as you do,” I tease you, giggling softly.
Seb was about to say something about you getting up but the look you gave him made him think better of it, knowing he wasn’t winning this battle today and he just needed to drop it... for now. “He’s a great friend. I’ll have to thank him personally. Great wingman he is.” Seb chuckles as he gets to the door with you, smiling sweetly at you. “Don’t worry, Jess knows where he stands in the iced coffee hierarchy. He’ll never make you another.” Seb smiles, leaning down and pecking your lips a few times. “I’ll see you around, sweetheart. Have a good day.” He pecks your lips once more before opening the door and walking out to his car, the sun just starting to rise now.
__
Emma frowned when she called her ‘Miss Swan’, feeling bad that she pissed her off but it was making her angry that she was going to blow off work to flirt with you. That was supposed to be Emma’s distraction right now. Or at least kissing you.. But, she also was so confused about what she was doing with you. She could not care if someone else wanted to flirt with you. She knew from experience that you were a great kisser and she should encourage Regina to go for it with you. She deserved to be happy and her friend was ready and willing to give you something when Emma couldn’t decided if she hated you or hated herself more for kissing you repeatedly. She finally gathers herself and heads to the station, in a worse mood than ever. She shot a death glare at Neal when she returned which shut him right up and she just dived into paperwork, which she hated more than anything.
The lunch rush was just ending when Regina walked in, my heart fluttering at the hope of Emma being behind her but unfortunately, she came alone. She talked to me for a while, smiling at me and being sweet which was very out of character since multiple people shot her a weird look when she laughed at something I said. She asked me questions about myself and my life before Storybrooke and told me all about how she became mayor, mentioning Emma a few times which just made my heart race. I hated myself for it, but I kept mentioning the sheriff, wanting to know more about her since Emma was such a closed book and I did not know the way to unlock her like Regina seemed to. She ordered another iced tea for the road, not noticing her slight frown when it just had ‘Regina’ with a single underline written on it. We exchanged numbers and we said goodbye, watching her as she left, feeling a bit confused about what just happened here but I was making friends which was exactly what I wanted. I start cleaning up to prep for the after work/school rush, my mind stuck on Emma, wishing she’d come in and drag me out back to kiss me again, unable to shake the feeling of her lips against mine.

I don’t have title, I only have anger.
These days I have so much anger in me that there is nothing could make me feel better. And I didn’t have a choice but to keep it to myself.
It feels like the world is hating me, playing tricks on me. I always thought I have so much patience (and many says so) but lately I believe, well, the otherwise. People around me (aka my coworker) has better coping mechanism every time they’re angry. They shout it out loud, they throw shady stuff to each other or simply talking about the person that pissing them off. And I can see it helps them to feel better.
Then there is me, I don’t have much guts to express it out loud. Like today, I became very mute and silent even to my close friends because how heated my head was. One of my coworker asked me to prepare something for client immediately. And I know it is important, I couldn’t say no.
I almost have to stay up late yesterday but I decided to just come to the office today (even though today isn’t my shift). Let me tell you, going to the office means you have to put up so much work. You have to wake up early (when you are sleep deprived for weeks), dealing with traffic jam, spend money on the go, putting up make up, dealing with people that you don’t actually want to meet. Friday was supposed to be my rest day, at very least working from home.
Then this person, the one who asked me to prepare a work in a very short amount of time, isn’t a person with the best attitude. She is that kind of person you meet at work who is very smart and hold pretty important title in the project, but is very hard to be nice at people. She talks to her coworker like she is the best, she knows best, she always does the best. To her team, she is more of a bossy leader who assigns each person to their task and she waits them to deliver before she delivers it to the client. She is actually one of the key people, but her attitude? Well not so much.
I have never actually had trouble with her, but today she really pissed me off. I knew that the time was ticking, very limited, and she became very nosy because her client starts to become annoying as well. They asked her to deliver the job at that very moment, I said to her wait a little bit the boss just arrived. She waited, and she asked again. This time I became very stressful. The thing is I have so much things to do at that moment and I have tried my best to deliver the job immediately. As if it wasn’t enough, the internet got down at that very moment. Fuck me. She wanted me to move very quickly and the words she said wasn’t very pleasing to read.
She said, “If you don’t deliver it right now, Katlyn, then it will be useless for us processing it today.” As If I didn’t know that, fuck? Of fucking course I know! You just need to fucking wait, for fuck sake. It wasn’t like I didn’t do anything to actually deliver it as you and your client please. You are not the one who wake up in the morning to go to the office, wait up for the boss to sign up, dealing with ten thousand others task that need to be done at the same time as well. I have never been angry to her but I really got mad at her and snapped right away with text.
She didn’t reply.
And I processed to deliver the job in four minutes.
She said okay thanks.
If I can be honest, I imaginary smacked her head right away. And I became mute the whole day just to press down my anger and sadness. I can understand to be called out if I did something wrong, if I neglected something, if I slowed down my job, if I gave hundred reasons to avoid doing something. But if you lecture me, talking as if I don’t know the urgency of something at the moment when I actually do the job, I’m gonna be pissed. And I have the right to feel so.
All I can say, the long essay I just wrote down is only one of many shits that went down on me this week, specifically since yesterday. It sucks to only have tumblr being the only one who gets to know the detail of my misery, but at the bright side is tumblr can only read or listen, and it doesn’t give bland nor shitty response to my thoughts.
That is a bit comforting to me (and sad, actually).

i feel like there’s a lot of people that don’t know that much about this version of elena and i wanted to share a look into who this character is and my own opinions on her and the way i write her on this blog. as a forewarning, this post is rather long.
“Elena had been like a force of nature: take her or leave her for the passionate, cynical, idealistic, self-centered, generous-to-a-fault, girl that had been her mortal self. A wild tropical storm rising in a millpond. An orchid in a field of daisies; a gryphon in a herd of sheep. Elena had never been like anyone but herself.”
Elena is the quintessential golden girl, the girl next door. Initially and especially when she was younger, she can come off as selfish, competitive, proud, and headstrong, however, that does not take away from the fact she can be a good person below the surface-- her general alignment being chaotic good. To this end, she has referred to certain students as ‘minions’ as they would readily do bidding for the most popular girl in the school and had been willing to spread rumors to further her own agendas. That said, Elena also showed a willingness to help her friends and protect others when various threats arose which would see them harmed. Some of Elena’s more positive traits are that she is: outgoing, confident, brave, optimistic, ambitious, loyal, protective, and strong-willed. She is a very good leader and as a result, is good at leading most situations which require solid leadership.
“Noblesse oblige, Meredith said softly. If you’re going to be queen of the school, you have to put up with the consequences.”
________________________________________________________
“Somewhere in the middle of it, Elena realized that she was going to be all right. She was herself again, not lost, not a stranger, but Elena Gilbert, the queen of Robert E. Lee.”
Elena, especially in high school, cares about her social status, willing to do research and find out details in order to use them against enemies if need be. At times, this means Elena may be willing to manipulate for what she deems is a greater good or to maintain her social standing, however, in most cases, she still has lines she will not cross to achieve these specific goals. Elena is a girl with a plan for everything, sometimes not as readily willing to accept other's motives as pure unless she knows them well. She is a Queen Bee, bossy at times even giving edicts from the grave. Still, she would never change herself or do something she did not think was right (by her definition of the term).
The girls in the senior class, even the ones that had been nastiest and most spiteful, were crying and holding hands. Girls Elena knew for a fact hated her were sniffling. Suddenly she was everybody’s best friend. There were boys crying, too. Shocked, Elena huddled closer to the railing. She couldn’t stop watching, even though it was the most horrible thing she had ever seen. Frances Decatur got up, her plain face plainer than ever with grief. “She went out of her way to be nice to me,” she said huskily. “She let me eat lunch with her.” Rubbish, Elena thought. I only spoke to you in the first place because you were useful in finding out information about Stefan. But it was the same with each person who went up to the pulpit; no one could find enough words to praise Elena.
________________________________________________________
“A lot of people weren’t nice to Elena after Halloween,” she said, wiping her eyes and going on. “And I know that hurt her. But Elena was strong. She never changed just to conform to what other people thought she should be. And I respected her for that, so much…” Sue’s voice wobbled. “When I was up for Homecoming Queen, I wanted to be chosen, but I knew I wouldn’t be and that was all right. Because if Robert E. Lee ever had a queen, it was Elena. And I think she always will be now, because that’s how we’ll all remember her. And I think that for years to come the girls who will go to our school might remember her and think about how she stuck by what she thought was right…” This time Sue couldn’t steady her voice and the reverend helped her back to her seat.
In fact, Elena is intensely protective of her friends and town and will typically not betray a loyalty unless she has been betrayed first. Even then, as seen with Caroline, even though Caroline had stolen her diary, plotted against her, and even tried to turn the town against her and Stefan, Elena still was compassionate toward her and wanted to help her. Another example of Elena's ability to be compassionate can be found in the final book when Elena goes back in time and, knowing what will happen to Vicki, makes the choice to include her within her friend group as the girls get ready for the dance. Elena also always fulfills her obligations, as Stefan has said ‘even to the undead’. She is fully aware of the dangerous game she plays at times, her being very emotion-driven can, at times, lead to her taking action without considering others or the fallout from her decisions. That said, she is usually willing to take responsibility for these actions and choices and she is not above admitting when she is wrong.
“…she had been a different person then. Ice-cold outside, manic inside—or was it the other way around? Still numb from the death of her parents so long ago. Jaded by the world and by anything to do with boys…A princess in an icy tower…with a lust only for conquest, for power…”
While having been nicknamed “The Ice Princess”, “Ice Queen”, and “Snow Queen” by many, for she sometimes possesses the impression of appearing cold, distant and aloof towards others, as time goes on her character evolves, learning to sacrifice for those she cares about and becoming a warmer and more mature person as Elena and her friends face various trials. She demonstrates a willingness to put her life at risk to protect others though is also, at times, willing to risk the majority to save one. There are examples of this in the series such as when she threatened a guardian (angel) that she would not use use her powers to help humanity if they didn’t change her mission (which had been to kill Damon). She is extremely stubborn, so much so that when presented with the doom of those she cared about and her own death, she literally refused it and convinced a guardian to allow her to go back in time and alter the chain of events which led to this, thus changing the entire course of the series and resetting the timeline.
“I’d better stop writing now. Stefan’s leaving, and Matt and Meredith and Alaric and I are going to see him off. I didn’t mean to get so into this; I’ve never kept a journal myself. But I want people to know the truth about Elena. She wasn’t a saint. She wasn’t always sweet and good and honest and agreeable. But she was strong and loving and loyal to her friends, and in the end she did the most unselfish thing anybody could do. Meredith says it means she chose light over darkness. I want people to know that so they’ll always remember. I always will.”
While Elena has openly admitted at the beginning of the series that she always used boys and treated the opposite sex as if they were prizes and trophies to boost her confidence and self-esteem none of the boys that she has ever encountered, met, or dated (including Matt) has ever had an enormous, unusual, life-changing or highly influential impact on her the way that Stefan Salvatore, in canon, has. While having developed on her own, it must be acknowledged that, at least in part, Stefan has inspired her to become more open-minded and spiritually awakened.
“I wanted to ask you something and it’s a little embarrassing.  I remember one thing Elena told me, and that was that you used to—well, to take on her discarded boyfriends for a little while, to comfort them, before turning them lose in the world again.  And I was wondering—could you think of me that way?”
Meredith’s eyes flew open and her held breath exploded in laughter.  “You!”
“I fulfill all the requirements, I’m sure.  Low self-esteem.  Can’t sleep, can’t eat.  I think about Elena night and day.  I can’t picture myself—ever—wanting another girl—”
Meredith laughed and laughed and the tension that had been holding her rigid broke.  “All right, all right.  You’re an Elena’s-ex.  Join the very large club.  But what can I do for you?”
In respect to Elena's love both in canon and in some ship verses on this blog, many are driven by a key concept of the novels: THE SOULMATE PRINCIPLE which is an ancient theory frequently used in most of L.J. Smith's trilogies and book series. "It is the theory that two people who are true destined soulmates are connected by a 'silver cord', only visible to the destined soulmates themselves." It does not always mean that your connection to that person will be a romantic one, but could be that of a friend as well. The key point is, they are destined to be a part of your life in some fashion, to challenge you and to impact you in a profound way. Your soulmate can awaken more of yourself through your interactions with them. "Through the silver cord, soulmates can often feel what each other are feeling if the person concentrates through the strength this connection and how long it takes to uncover may vary... Exchanging blood is one way for a person to find out they are soulmates. Soulmates can often enter each other's mind and see their memories, thoughts, and feelings. Thoughts and memories can be blocked, though this takes concentration-- if the concentration lapse during the time that one person is in someone else's mind, the blocks will fall down to allow the other person to see everything. It is the idea that for everyone in the world, there is ONE soulmate who is perfect for them. You don't have to look like your soulmate, act like them, be the same age as them; you don't even have to like them at first, but from the moment you meet them, you know that you'll never be completely happy without them."
“Involuntarily, Stefan glanced up.  Yes, he’d had the strong feeling of her presence here tonight, too.  Elena.  Still scheming from the spirit world.  Elena couldn’t help him any longer with her blood, but that wouldn’t matter to her.  She had three humans that she could still influence, and that was fine.  It wouldn’t matter to her that Meredith got a bit of a shock or that Bonnie might be playing with fire, or even—well, she wouldn’t have done anything to destroy his friendship with Matt, but he hadn’t known that before.”
All in all, Elena is a complex character who many often misjudge both within the series and by readers. She may not be perfect, she can be selfish, and she is not always agreeable, she even may not be the character that everyone even roots for right off the bat, but she does evolve. And as it's often said, she is not anyone but herself. She does not apologize for being who she is but she does own up to who she is and the choices she makes. Elena knows loss and is challenging and daring and brave. She learns and grows and becomes a woman who can be vain but giving, who can be selfish, at times, but still willing to sacrifice.

I really don't know how to fully express how much comments like this mean to me! The fact that you spent all of this time and effort to tell me exactly your thoughts and reactions is simply amazing! I've had comments like this from different people during my time posting online and I'm telling you that I remember each and every one! They are so lovely and detailed that I take an hour to read them fully simply because I get so excited and bashful during it that I have to take breaks. Not only that but it sparks my inspiration and motivation to increase tenfold and that is not an exaggeration. It is a reminder to me that all of the time and effort I put into crafting these characters and their stories has not been for nothing, that there are truly other people out there who appreciate it.
Sincerely thank you so much! I can not say that enough! Your support has made me giddy and happy in such a special way.
Anyways, now that I've done my time sobbing over this, here are some responding thoughts.
/He considered going over to reprimand them, but resisted./ Broooooo, it's a party. YOUR party! Chill tf out 😂
Hahaha Kxolo soemtimes does not know how to chill. Then again, I would say that part of his cause here is from not getting laid for a long time.
/He knew pushing Neteyam to Vamai would come back to bite him./ and /Thinking of the omega practicing such an erotic dance Kxolo knew it had Vamai’s name written all over it./ YOU LEAVE MY GIRL'S NAME OUT OF THIS! SHE'S NEVER DONE A SINGLE THING WRONG IN HER ENTIRE LIFE
This made me BURST OUT LAUGHING! It's true, Vamai is just a good friend that happens to love dancing and love encouraging Neteyam to join her. Kxolo has such an interesting relationship with this fact because he LOVES to watch Neteyam dance, he LOVES TO DROOL OVER NETEYAM DANCING, and he LOVES to join him in saucy dances. However, another part of him DOES NOT LOVE to think of other males witnessing this art too.
When Neteyam began to shudder and shake, eyes clenching shut with a cry, the Olo’eyktan simply cood out mocking praises and kissed his sweaty temple./ The 'mocking praises' are what I live for omggggggg they can be so fucking hot
Mocking praises make me WEAK in the knees. If a man like Kxolo ever said half the stuff I've wrote in Ma Neteyam I would simple fall into a puddle on the floor
heir tails wrapped together until they were intertwined.  “Deal.” The omega whispered before connecting their lips in a soft kiss./ Their tails wrapping around each other like a pinky promise 🥰
Awww that is so true and so adorable *sobs in the corner*
“You will finish, omega. As many times as I decide.”/ AHHHHHHHHHHHH 🥵🥵🥵🥵
I wrote most of this fic in a PUBLIC library and I remember getting to this part specifically and just STRUGGLING to keep my composure
He did, however, not miss the way Vamai and Neteyam exchanged a secret look, the other omega nodding in response before running off to speak with the musicians./ Vamai best wingwoman everrrrrrr
This story truly owes her SO MUCH!
“I too am neither required to put up with your bossy attitude, paskalin.”  “So you think.”/ This whole exchange is so funny to me cause Pulo's being waaaaayyy bold with how he's talking Kxolo and I keep expecting Kxolo to be like 'alright chill tf out with how you're talking' and instead its Resaal who has to put her mate in his place lmao. Their banter is so cute - I love when couple's can have easy and fun banters back and forth like this.
Pulo and Resaal have a very dramatic enemies to lovers romance so they actually spent years claiming to hate each other. Now that they are mated they still aren't afraid to call each other out or push one another's buttons. Resaal is VERY comfortable teasing and pushing him and Pulo vice versa. This push and pull dynamic is something that secretly makes them feel satisfied and draw closer together. They are both too head strong to enjoy something easy. I'm glad you enjoyed this exchange as much as I did!
This is such a Neteyam thing to do! Not only as an omega who are stereotypically kind/caring/thoughtful, but I feel like canon Neteyam would also do this for his partner. He's a quiet observer, he watches people (mostly Lo'ak in the movies) but you can see how he just watches everyone and then steps in if he's needed. I think that would translate into his romantic relationships as well and would be one of those 'how did you even know I liked this specific kind of soup' moments. Plus canon Neteyam is a sweetheart - you can't tell me he wouldn't do all he can to celebrate his partner's birthday.
ABSOLUTELY! Not only because he is thoughftul and observant but also because he is used to doing everything in his power to make things perfect. He trains until he knows the skills perfectly. He organizes things until it's good enough to make his parents proud. And now that he has a true mate in his life he obssesses over ensuring that their birthday is amazing. It is one of the many ways he shows his love. Kxolo finds it incredibly heart warming and apprecites it fully, but truth be told that boy could hang a dead carcass as a celebration and as long Neteyam is his, Kxolo is delighted.
OMFGGGGGG I HATE when parents (or things like religious guilt or the like) get in the way of moments that are supposed to be fun and pleasurable and private. There shouldn't be any guilt when it comes to sex in general, but as much as I hate it - I love that you added this part in cause it makes it all the more realistic. I empathize with Kxolo for his struggle to deal with his father's words and probable disapproval. And the resulting bond that creates for him with Neteyam is all the more stronger because of it and I love that Neteyam is someone that he can finally feel safe with enough to be himself instead of just the person he has to be in order to be Olo'eyktan.
THIS. THIS is exactly what I was trying to convey, thank you for understanding it so fully. Kxolo doesn't like to talk about it but his upbringing was rough and harsh. He had to learn how to value his own opinions over that of his fathers and learn to trust his own judgment. It was incredibly difficult but its what makes Kxolo a wonderful leader and confident man, as well as knowing how to show empathy and love (especially to Neteyam as he understand that pressure the omega puts on himself to make his parents happy).
/It began to grade at his nerves this game of ‘you can look but you can’t touch’. At one point he swiped out to catch Neteyam’s tail but the omega tripped slightly and glared back at him./ Let the poor baby finish his dance, Kxolo! He worked really hard on it! 😭
This rehearsed dance is going to be staple between the two. Kxolo is ready to beg on his knees if that is what it takes to have a performance of it whenever he'd like. However, seeing it for the first time is such a beautiful mix of heaven and hell for a man that hasn't gotten laid in weeks
As he gripped those hips and watched the way bioluminescent lights bounced off of Neteyam’s swerving body, Kxolo swore this was the longest song in existence./ Kxolo is so real for this 😂 I'd be impatient too
Kxolo's love language is 110% physical touch so watching this beautiful dance is exciting to say the least but when you tell him he can't touch and manhandle his mate the way he would like, now he has a problem
Anyways, thank you again for these wonderful thoughts! I will always cherish them and you<3
(Also I didn't proofread this so sorry about the mistakes that I know must be there)
Would you be willing to write a chapter where Neteyam gives Kxolo a lap dance? hehehe 😏😏😏👀👀👀

Kxolo shifted the feathers laying across his shoulders again. Wearing the ceremonial clothing had always been an honor and one that the alpha never took lightly but right now it felt as if the material was going to suffocate him. Still, he couldn’t let the appearance of his annoyance shine through. Especially not on a day like today. His birthday.
A day where the entire clan had come together and decided to throw a festival lasting from mid afternoon until deep into the night. He knew he had Neteyam to thank for many of the details that went into such an occasion. His sweet omega had been running rampant for the past moon cycle, organizing every little surprise and delight in secret until the big day. More times than one he had found the boy huddled in the healer’s tent to speak with his cousin in hushed whispers.
Try as he might, Neteyam had been relentless in keeping every morsel of this day a surprise and truly he had to admit that it had been perfect. His favorite food, people, music and location all rolled in together in spectacular celebration.
Kxolo subconsciously ran his thumb over the new smooth leather of his knife sheath. The same one that Neteyam had woken him up with this morning as a gift. His little mate couldn’t wait another five minutes before nervously presenting the hand crafted gift. His old sheath had been completely thrown aside and forgotten in favor of this personalized one, something he knew would continue to be the case. However, before he had the chance to thank his mate properly, they were interrupted by friends already putting into play the first part of the day’s festivities
It had been a real strain to put on a wide smile and act like his closest friends weren’t being the worst cock block imaginable.
As much as he loved the effort and true love that had gone into the celebration it was also the main thing that had kept Neteyam busy and away from their hut for the majority of their days. The boy had been zipping back and forth across the village with only small kisses to give before slipping from his grip to do the next task.
The last time Neteyam had wiggled himself off of the alpha’s lap amid passionate kissing, Kxolo had been dangerously close to insisting on canceling the lavish events just so he could have his omega back for more than five minutes. However, he could never do that. Not when Neteyam looked up at him with those golden eyes that sparkled with excitement and mischief as he once again denied Kxolo’s request to be filled in on details. How was he supposed to take that away from his little love?
“Brother, I can tell that extra year has already aged you into an old man.” Pulo settled beside him on a stump, handing over another wineskin full of strong drink. The party continued forward with a blurry of crowded dancing and intoxicated youth slipping off to hide their drunkenness.
He considered going over to reprimand them, but resisted.
Let the boys have some fun. It’s a party after all.
“I fear it is this mysterious concoction from Epok that has brought me there.” Kxolo responded but took another swig regardless. Even with his experience drinking the alcoholic fermented fruit, he had to admit that this was the strongest batch Epok had made in years. He made a mental note to keep the substance away from Neteyam. No doubt the sweet boy would be toppled over within a few sips.
“Soft as a flower, you’ve become.” Pulo teased, earning him a playful jab to the ribs. “Your little omega is already running circles around you.”
Kxolo’s eyes shifted back over to where Neteyam was continuing to dance without a care. It was a good look on him. A rare sight to behold, the eldest Sully child letting himself go. So far it had been the Olo’eyktan’s favorite part of the night, especially when Neteyam rolled his hips sensually to the beat of the base drum. At some point however, the dancing had turned into such erotica that Kxolo became ever more conscious of any wandering gazes.
He knew pushing Neteyam to Vamai would come back to bite him.
“He’s been doing that for weeks.”
“Ah, I see.” Pulo mused. “Someone missing their one on one time?”
Kxolo’s eyes shot like daggers to his chuckling friend. Leave it to Pulo to tease him on his birthday without a hint of remorse. However, Kxolo couldn’t deny that he appreciated how easily Pulo could read his emotions. Many times they required little words to communicate with one another.
“Wait, does this mean you didn’t like our little surprise this morning?” Pulo let out an overdone gasp, hand placing over his heart with a feigned wounded expression. “Surely our mighty Olo’eyktan would never wish to be away from his People.”
Kxolo rolled his eyes before swinging them back to his dancing omega.
“Of course not.” Another swig of alcohol and it burned just as much as the first.
His internal pouting, however, was cut short when Neteyam stumbled over towards him. Not willing to let the opportunity, or rather omega, slip away, his arms reached out and snatched the boy onto his lap. Neteyam’s drunken giggle rang through the air as he allowed himself to be manhandled across the Olo’eyktan’s muscular thighs.
“There you are.” Kxolo drawled out along Neteyam’s ear. Pulo’s little snort was ignored as he continued to run his flat nose over the column of his mate’s throat.
“You stopped dancing.”
“I enjoyed watching.” Kxolo reviled in the way Neteyam still blushed at comments like that, even after all this time being mated. He nosed at the rising tint blossoming over his cheeks.
“You’ve liked your birthday then?” Neteyam attempted to turn his face and get a good look at the male but his alpha was already nuzzled into the crook of his neck.
“Mmm very much so. It’s perfect.” The feathers magically no longer itched as he was embraced with the sweet warm scent of his love. He basked in the swirled of essence that had been oh so missed over the last few weeks.
Neteyam on the other hand apparently had decided this distraction would be the chance to grasp at the wineskin in Kxolo’s hands. The alpha just barely managed to whip it away before those small fingers could clasp around it.
“Ah ah, this one’s not for you, baby boy.” Kxolo struggled to hold in the deep chuckle at the sight of Neteyam’s pouting, scrunched up expression. It was clear the boy was already tipsy from the watered down communal alcohol. One swig would be enough to swirl him into incoherency and for sure then their night would be over. “Trust me, you don’t want it.”
To prove his point further, the open bottle was brought under Neteyam’s nose. Instantly the omega scrunched up even more and turned away. Kxolo’s laughter rumbled against the boy’s back.
“I asked Epok to make the drinks but if you don’t like-”
“It is perfect. Mawey, sweet one.”
Neteyam visibly relaxed but a hint of that mischief still shined through.
“So perfect that you won’t let me try it?” Despite Neteyam’s batting lashes and lip bite Kxolo was compelled to once again deny his request. Instead he opted to playfully nip at that trapped bottom lip. Neteyam blushed a deeper red, pushing back at his alpha’s shoulders. He was not easily swayed, instead wrapping his arms around the boy's waist and pulling him closer until the omega couldn’t escape the persistent kissing.
Contrary to Neteyam’s outraged little squeak, his tails flickered with excitement.
“I suppose here is as good a place as any, but do let me know if I should herd the children away, brother.” Pulo smirked but it was short lived as a harsh yank pulled at his braids. Pulo’s mate did not back down from his responding hiss. Resaal flashed him a cunning smirk.
“Leave them be, won’t you? Olo’eyktan is not required to let your jesting slip by, no matter how long you have known him.” Resaal scolded but it only lit a fire in Pulo’s eyes.
“I too am neither required to put up with your bossy attitude, paskalin.”
“So you think.” Resaal purred, back away when Pulo reached for her hips. With confidence bursting from the seams she gracefully lured the other alpha away from the pair, a welcome intervention in Kxolo’s opinion. He made a mental note to think twice before sending Resaal away with a scavenging party for months on end. He loved his friend, but Pulo often became restless without his mate to challenge that fire out of him.
“Sweet peace.” Kxolo sighed before diving back in to leave kisses along Neteyam’s throat.
“Wait wait, I have a surprise for you.”
“So many surprises, baby boy. You have done enough.” Kxolo leveled his voice to sound sweet and endearing but he couldn’t deny that a part of him dreaded another celebratory surprise, especially with his omega already so sweetly perched in his lap. So close to the goal and yet his own birthday seemed to be getting in the way of what he wanted most.
“You will like this one. I promise.” It was the waver in Neteyam’s voice that caught his attention. Hesitation clearly spanned over the omega’s features and it made his own tail perk in alert. “Come.” Neteyam demanded, taking the alpha’s larger hand in his own to pull him away.
Finally realizing that his wishes were about to come true, Kxolo let himself be pulled along. Excitement ramped higher as the omega began leading them towards the outskirts of the party. He did, however, not miss the way Vamai and Neteyam exchanged a secret look, the other omega nodding in response before running off to speak with the musicians.
The only thing growing faster than his curiosity was Kxolo’s lust as he abashedly watched his mate’s hips side to side with each step. It had been too long, far too long and Kxolo suddenly remembered what it was like to be an insatiable teenager again. He hadn’t so desperately yearned for physical affection from Neteyam since the first few weeks he had stolen the boy away.
It was an experience he had no desire to repeat, every day feeling like a battle as he held himself back from acting on his most carnal yearnings.
Neteyam led them deeper into the forest until they were out of sight of any clan members but the music still rippled through the trees.
When Neteyam gently pushed his shoulders down until Kxolo was sitting on a stump the alpha wasted no time in pulling his mate onto his lap and connecting their lips once more. He allowed his hands to wander greedily over the omega’s soft skin, squeezing at the plump flesh of his exposed ass.
“You are right, I do enjoy this surprise, little one.” He breathed out, barely letting their lips disconnect for a second. Neteyam on the other hand was slowly starting reel back and fumble a sentence together.
“Wait, yawne. This is not-” He gasped when Kxolo teeth sunk down on the exposed hickey lining his throat. “N-not the surprise.”
The alpha simply hummed in response, already getting to work on bringing the bruise back to its full color.
“Wait w-wait wait.” Neteyam rambled before somehow wiggling out of the alpha’s possessive grasp. Kxolo went to stand up and follow but he was gently urged to stay seated.
“Neteyam,” Kxolo drawled, voice on the edge of a deep growl.
“Just stay for a second.” Neteyam pecked his lips but that nervous demeanor had returned. Curiosity once again took the reins so Kxolo reluctantly listened to his orders. It was rare to see the boy so demanding and he was not about to scare its appearance away.
Neteyam took a steadying breath, nerves already flashing over his angelic features but the omega’s hands told another story. They skated over Kxolo shoulders and along the vibrant feathers. He was ready to bask in the touch without the barrier so Kxolo rashly shrugged the traditional attire off.  For a moment he swore he could hear his father's rough voice scolding him.
An Olo’eyktan must always remember his status.
An Olo’eyktan does not carelessly toss such symbols.
His fingers  twitched, tempted to place it back over his shoulders but then there were Neteyam’s small hands tracing every vein along his neck and collarbones. His father’s brash voice floated away and there was only Neteyam.
Only Neteyam.
The one person that Kxolo could truly be himself with. The only person that was able to wash away the burdens of leadership simply with his soothing presence.
His father was not here, it was only them.
Kxolo’s hands did their own exploring, marveling at the boy’s tapered waist and curved hips. Each male petted with a reverence that sung out like a silent prayer of appreciation. Although he could already feel his member straining against his restricting loincloth, Kxolo allowed himself to sink into the slow build up of the movement.
Neteyam’s hips swayed, but this time not from simple walking. Instead they whipped to the beat of the drum. In perfect accordance with the music, that beautiful form curved and rolled sensually. He had seen Neteyam dance before, especially when under the influence of strong drink, but this was different.
It was unashamed.
It was erotic.
One leg swept backwards in a drawled semicircle along the ground before placing his foot on the other side of Kxolo's thigh. Now practically straddling the alpha’s leg, Neteyam dragged his inner thighs along him. It rippled a shiver up Kxolo’s spine and when he looked up to find Neteyam blushing profusely, it only tempered another flare in his heart.
His perfect omega.
It was undoubtedly new territory for both of them. The closest thing that the couple had participated in were a few forbidden sensual dances at celebrations. Although Neteyam's nerves were ever present, the boy continued to grind and roll to the rhythm perfectly.
His smooth transitions spoke volumes of the time that Neteyam had no doubt put into practicing this specific dance. Thinking of the omega practicing such an erotic dance Kxolo knew it had Vamai’s name written all over it.
He went to rise and join his mate in this explicit dance but Neteyam shook his head once more, making the male sit down with a huff again. A flurry of emotions raged through him and when Neteyam turned the other way so he had an obstructed view of his perky backside, Kxolo swore he was on the edge of ruin.
His sultry gaze couldn’t stay away from the beautiful display before him, not with his omega’s sweet scent now evermore present than before. It infiltrated the Olo’eyktan’s senses until there was nothing left but the throbbing of his loins.
Kxolo went to pull him back towards him but this time Neteyam required little persuasion as he bent to hover his backside over his pulsating erection. Instead of sitting fully, the omega swiped his tail and ass gently over the area, creating figure eight patterns. It was a soft type of torture, the smallest touches creating an ravenous rush through him.
As he gripped those hips and watched the way bioluminescent lights bounced off of Neteyam’s swerving body, Kxolo swore this was the longest song in existence. The harder Kxolo dug his fingers into Neteyam’s flesh the higher the omega’s confidence slowly grew. Gone was the blossoming blush, now replaced with a flushed countenance and blown out pupils.
Kxolo was sure his little mate would deny it but there was surely a part of him that enjoyed torturing his alpha. It was evident in the way his eyes sparkled every time he had to refuse Kxolo’s demands to sit down fully.
He was tempted to stamp that mischievous fire out, to show what happens when naughty omegas taunt their alphas, but he let him continue. No matter how impatient and downright desperate he was becoming, the Olo’eyktan did not want to associate retribution with Neteyam’s new attitude too quickly. There was something all too satisfying about the push and pull of such interactions; not that he could let Neteyam know that.
Kxolo swore he no longer had control over his hands as they wandered over his body incessantly. It was extremely rewarding however when a sharp tug to Neteyam’s nipple had that familiar gasp rising to the surface. The omega stuttered slightly in his movements but didn’t let it deter him for long.
He was starting to question whether or not this was a surprise or a punishment when Neteyam stood back up and slipped out of his reach. The hanging crystals making up his shall worked perfectly to glisten in the moonlight and bring attention to every movement.
A mental image of ripping those beads off with his teeth came to the forefront. Of course Neteyam would be upset. He would also be upset at Kxolo messing up the intricate designs painted across his chest and thigh, but he would recover. The Olo’eyktan was willing to take the consequences in any form that it came, as long as it meant having his way with the boy finally.
It began to grade at his nerves this game of ‘you can look but you can’t touch’. At one point he swiped out to catch Neteyam’s tail but the omega tripped slightly and glared back at him.
Kxolo was on the edge of pinning the boy down when Neteyam finally sashayed back over to him. Sitting backwards on his lap and circling those sinful hips once more, Kxolo did not wait to be invited to have a taste. He bit down harshly at the back of the omega’s left shoulder.
The responding small mewl was a greater symphony than the entire song combined. It laced the contours of the drums increasing build in a perfect masterpiece.
Neteyam struggled to continue the choreographed movements as his mate’s groping became strategically calculated. Those long fingers tickled and swirled along his most sensitive and private areas, ones that only his alpha knew by heart. When a warm palm slid over the front of his loincloth to cup him, Neteyam jerked back with a little shriek.
“That is not part of the show.” He managed to quip back.
Kxolo simply chuckled, hand now slipping underneath the waistband.
“Perhaps the encore then, little one”
“Let me finish.” Neteyam whined, hips already bucking upwards on the contrary.
Kxolo’s hot breath tickled at his ears until those soft lips were tracing his right ear’s shape.
“You will finish, omega. As many times as I decide.” That dark promise sealed his fate within a breath. It was endearing to watch the way Neteyam still squirmed and insisted on getting to the end of the song, even as his small cock twitched with each stroke against it.
He would make it up to the boy later, let him do the dance to his heart’s content, but Kxolo was tired of waiting.
Even an Olo’eyktan has a limit to his patience.
“You keep trying to run off, rude little thing.”
Neteyam whimpered, muscles in his legs finally giving out as the pleasure became too much.
“Just b-been busy.” He exhaled out an exaggerated breath, finally letting the alpha dispose of his loincloth and get to work. “Wanted to make it per…ah…perfect.”
“It is perfect and so are you. Now stop trying to steal my omega away from me. Otherwise I can’t promise to always play nice.”
Neteyam started to rut up against the male’s hand in rapid motion, but all that did was rub him back against Kxolo’s member tortuously.
“Or fair.” Neteyam gritted out between clenched teeth.
Kxolo chuckled darkly before tucking his chin over Neteyam’s right shoulder, giving him the perfect view of his mate’s twitching cock in his grasp. When Neteyam began to shudder and shake, eyes clenching shut with a cry, the Olo’eyktan simply cood out mocking praises and kissed his sweaty temple.
It became ever so clear that he was not the only one wound up after so much time apart.
Neteyam’s body had become familiar terrain for the alpha. Even a shift in his scent could trigger how close his omega was to finding sweet relief. It was a fact he took advantage of quite often because there was nothing more addicting than pulling out new sounds from his mate’s lips, that is besides the feeling of Neteyam’s tight heat milking him for all he is worth.
“P-please c-can I…hmm….need to….”
“Perhaps.” Kxolo mused, placing another kiss to his shoulder blade as he sped up the pace.
“Daddy please!”
A feral grin spread over his lips.
“Cum for me.”
Neteyam followed the order almost simultaneously and when he did Kxolo gave in to his intrusive thoughts. With sharp fangs he gathered a chunk of beads and strands and ripped them away violently. The beads went flying in every which direction but now there was a no layer of protection between Neteyam’s soft skin and Kxolo’s torment.
When his fangs sunk into the supple flesh, Neteyam shook uncontrollably.
He took his time nursing and sucking at the mark until his mate was whining and trying to pry Kxolo’s hand off of his overstimulated length.
The omega’s chest heaved up and down in a rapid pace but Neteyam’s wafting scent told him everything he needed to know. It spoke of that still ever rising desire, a flame that was easily recouping to match Kxolo’s own.
“Soaked for me already.” Kxolo whispered, rolling his own hips up until Neteyam’s arousal was staining the front of his loincloth.
“Alpha…” Neteyam reached back, fingers trying to grasp onto something; anything. They found a hold on the alpha’s waistband and that was all the encouragement Kxolo needed to rip off chuck the garment away.
Were this any other night the Olo’eyktan would watch that neediness grow, appreciate every shift in Neteyam’s demeanor until his omega was so fucked out that pleas bled from his lips uncontrollably.
Tonight, however, Kxolo found himself just as insatiable. Every minute without that tight hole wrapped around him was another of the alpha’s torment. Neteyam only made matters worse as he began to rub back against him, almost as if he could find a way to slip his alpha’s cock inside of him just from grinding.
Kxolo’s hand snatched the front of Neteyam’s throat so fast it expelled all the oxygen from his lungs in a burst. Eyes rolling backwards, he rolled his head backwards to rest against the alpha’s collarbones.
“Baby boy.” He growled. Using the other hand he reached beneath them and positioned the tip just barely at Neteyam’s slick entrance. “You’re going to take all of me, aren’t you?”
Eyes glistening with tears, Neteyam nodded hazily while pushing back.
Not good enough.
“Say it.”
His bulbous tip slipped just past the rim and Kxolo had to bite back a plethora of curses.
“Daddy I want to take all of your cock. Please!”
With one smooth thrust, Kxolo seated himself fully inside of the omega.
Who was he to deny such pretty pleas from his little mate?
“Great Mother, Neteyam! How did this little hole manage to get tighter?” His chest rumbled fervently and Kxolo once again felt another oral fixation coming on. The pretty marks covering Neteyam’s shoulder captivated him endlessly. Refreshing the color could never hurt.
“R-ready. Ready ready ready.” Neteyam babbled.
It was tempting to tease it out longer but Kxolo’s hips seemed to have another idea in mind as it took all of his concentration to not buck up into him. When he did, however, the result was electrifying. That clenching cavern fit him so perfectly, letting him carve out the space until there was not a doubt that this angel of a being was his.
No matter how many times they intertwined so intimately, nothing could ever erase the awe that washed over him every time Neteyam allowed him inside. The awe that they had finally made it, that they were mated and one before Eywa.
It was as if Neteyam could read his mind because he was quickly reaching back behind him to connect their neural queues hastily. As with every other time, warmth crashed through him boldly. It was the greatest satisfaction to feel his mate’s pleasure strumming through the bond, to know that he was pleasing the love of his life.
Their movements quickly became messy, spiraling out of control as Neteyam tried to rise up and down in tandem with Kxolo’s thrusts. When their lips found each other once more it was nothing but animalistic, a frenzy of urgency that neither was willing to live with. Had a clan member found them now, Kxolo was sure they would be shocked to see their naturally composed Olo’eyktan so untamed, unable to gather the slightest restraint.
That was the beauty of it.
Neteyam from the very beginning had brought out a side of him that he could express nowhere else.
Those special pieces of him belonged to his omega and his omega only.
Kxolo had to admire Neteyam’s rebounding sex drive. His fragrant essence was already tipping towards that natural burst of ecstasy quickly.
“Look at you. Already to the edge and ready for more.” Embarrassment was far from Neteyam’s mind, simply content to soak up the praise without objection. “What did I say?”
He plummeted to that special bundle of nerves and Neteyam couldn’t hold back his vibrant cry.
“As…..nahh….as many times as you decide.”
“Good boy.” Kxolo’s eyes shut on their own accord as his hips snapped upwards frantically. “Don’t hold back on me. Want that glimmering cum painting you inside and out.”
“Yes Daddy.”
If the trembling was any indication his mate was just as close to coming undone as he was. A new resolve sparked within him. The Olo’eyktan increased his efforts tenfold but then there was a small hand grasping his jaw. Neteyam’s tongues forcefully pushed its way past Kxolo’s lips and to the alpha’s surprise, claimed that area with ease. Their groans danced heatedly into the kiss until it was hard to recognize which taste was his own versus Neteyam’s.
The omega’s gummy walls squeezed around him just as Neteyam bit down on his lower lip. The pain rippled into a beautiful harmony with the height of his pleasure as they both reached peak together. Kxolo’s body took control, arms reaching out to make sure that not an inch of space could be formed between them.
Pelvis flush against the omega’s ass, warm seed painted those inner walls.
Through the bond he could track the moment Neteyam felt that primal claim. Even when Neteyam’s own release died down he was forced to ride out his alpha’s release through the bond. It shook him to the depth of his core.
Kxolo slumped forward against him, body shaking from the aftermath.
Several long moments passed with only heavy breathing to fill the silence. It was borderline painful to still be seated inside of such a tight channel but Kxolo didn’t dare to allow a gap between their bodies.
His stamina would ramp up again and once it did, he didn’t want the slightest chance of his omega teasing and running off again. Not that it would be possible in the first place. From the way Neteyam laid back against him completely limp, he figured it would be out of the question.
“I hope you aren’t too wrecked yet, baby boy.” He mocked, lips flickering up into a grin.
“As if.” Neteyam’s confidence wavered in its execution as his voice still trembled.
“Glad to hear because I know one last birthday gift you can give me.”
That perked Neteyam up, their eyes meeting finally.
“My omega all too myself.”
Neteyam’s lips parted.
“No more chores, no more late night tasks, baby boy.”
Neteyam giggled softly.
“I hope you don’t have any plans tonight or tomorrow because the only place I want to see you for the next day is in my bed.” Kxolo didn’t hold back the possessive growl lacing every word.
Their tails wrapped together until they were intertwined.
“Deal.” The omega whispered before connecting their lips in a soft kiss.
“Happy Birthday, Ma Kxolo.”
“Happy indeed.”

— Drew’s POV —
I held Amelia’s little hand as we passed the gates of her school’s entrance, walking right to her classroom. It was filled to the brim with more 6 year olds than I’ve ever seen before.
From the moment we entered the class, all eyes were on us. Sure, it’s not everyday you see a 6’2 guy walking around, but all of the sudden attention from the parents scared me.
I was dragged away from the entrance by Amelia as she brought me along to say hi to one of her friends.
“Cami! This is my daddy!” Amelia exclaimed as a smile took over her face.
“Hi Cami. It’s nice to meet you” Amelia suddenly slapped my leg to get me to bend down to her height as she whispered “Don’t be rude, daddy. Say hi to her mommy” I nodded at her sudden bossiness.
“Hi, I’m Drew. You must be Cami’s mom?” I held my hand out to greet the woman in front of me.
“I’m Carly, Cami’s mom. Nice to meet you, Drew” She smiled awkwardly at me. It was kind of scary if I’m being completely honest.
She was beginning to speak again when we heard the announcement to begin boarding the buses for the schools field trip to the local zoo.
Amelia grabbed my hand as we made our way onto the bus. All parents were instructed to sit closest to the aisle, which meant all children sat next to the window. This led to Cami and Carly sitting in the seats next to us. Though Cami and Amelia were further away from each other than they would’ve liked, this only made me and Carly sit closer than I would’ve liked.
She had started speaking to me and I wasn’t fully paying attention. I was talking to Amelia about the different animals she wanted to see today. I guess Carly still assumed that me and Y/n hadn’t gotten back together because she started asking questions about my personal life.
“You seem like such a sweetheart” she said as she placed her hand on my arm. “Are you available tonight for dinner?” she kept her hand in it’s exact spot before beginning to mess with the light hairs on my arm.
I gently grabbed her hand and moved it off of me before answering her.
“No, ma’am. I’ve got plans tonight” I forced a smile as I looked back toward Amelia to continue our conversation. I wasn’t lying, I did have plans for tonight with Y/n and Amelia.
“Oh that’s a shame… What about tomorrow night?” She now placed her hand on my shoulder. I turned my head to look at her before, once again, removing her hand.
“Sorry but I’m not interested, Carly” I scooted as far away from her as possible as I apologized to Amelia for cutting off our conversation.
Carly didn’t try speaking to me anymore for the rest of ride to the zoo. We all got off the bus and we got placed into groups. Unfortunately for me, we got stuck with Cami & her mom. I tried to suck it up and not ruin the day for Amelia but it was really difficult.
Carly’s voice began to annoy me after only a few short hours of knowing her. Anywhere me and Amelia went, hand-in-hand, Carly & Cami followed close behind. We couldn’t get a break, specifically I couldn’t get a break.
After exploring the zoo for about 2 hours and seeing so many animals, our group made it to the final exhibit: The Crocodiles. Amelia was absolutely fascinated by these animals. I carried her on my shoulders so she could get a better view of the creatures in-front of her.
While listening to Amelia tell me all about the crocodiles, I felt an arm swing around my torso and I tensed up. I turned around and saw Carly, not caring at all that she was invading my personal space or being disrespectful.
I slowly carried Amelia off of my shoulders and told her to wait one minute as I turned my attention back to Carly.
“Carly, can you please stop? I-” I spoke before a lighter voice interrupted me.
“Misses Cami’s mom, keep your hands to yourself!” Amelia shouted as she stepped in front of me and pointed toward Carly, causing her to immediately remove her arm and hold them up in defense.
“Can’t you take a hint, woman?” Amelia threw her hands up in the air dramatically. “You know, if my mommy were here, she would have no problem putting you in timeout for being a bad girl” She scolded the grown woman in front of her as I struggled to keep in a laugh.
“Oh wait- I didn’t know you guys got back together-” Carly attempted to defend herself.
“You should’ve stopped the first time I told you that I wasn’t interested, Carly. Plus, you’ve known that me and Y/n got back together because you and every other mother here talk about us. Please just leave us alone” And with that, I grabbed Amelia and we walked back to the bus, not speaking to anyone.
Carly & Cami didn’t try speaking to either of us for the rest of the day, though I’m 95% sure Cami didn’t talk to Amelia because her mom told her not to.
“I’m sorry for ruining your field trip, princess” I apologized to Amelia who was busy comparing our hand sizes.
“It’s okay, daddy. Plus I got to be a big girl like mommy and tell people what to do!” She squealed as she shook her arms in excitement. I could only smile at how extra she was… just like her momma.
“Oh and that reminds me, thank you for sticking up for me today” I held her close as i held her wrap her little arms around me as much as possible.
“Of course, daddy. Anything for you” She smiled into my chest.
“Just wait til mommy finds out” Amelia giggled into my chest causing us both to erupt into full-blown laughter.
