I saw an art on twt regarding a rarepair of Dr. Ratio and Ruan Mei and it has plagued me all day I need to write my thoughtsss

Imagining Dr. Ratio, most logical, most intelligent, most perfect (in his eyes anyway), falling in love with the very much dense Ruan Mei

"Love is irrational and irrelevant. It's something that I wouldn't ever dabble into." *Ruan Mei enters the scene* Dr. Ratio: ????????????????

They'd probably first bump into each other on the Space Station. Ruan Mei was visiting her little creations and he was just there by chance. He first sees him talking to Herta around the ship and even though they weren't acquainted yet, Ruan Mei offers him a sweet smile that makes his heart thump. He doesn't understand it one bit

He thinks of her as exquisite; perfectly beautiful among the pool of idiotic would-be scientists

He finds himself visiting the Space Station often. When asked what's the purpose of his visit, he'd be using all the convoluting words to explain it to the point that whoever is asking would just wave him off with a nod just to be done with the conversation

Meanwhile, Ruan Mei is inexplicably dense about it

She thinks its adorable to have one of the geniuses of the IPC having an interest on her studies (Miss Ma'am its you he's interested in tho lmaooo)

Ms Genius over here is too focused on her experiments and studies to notice this other too-proud-to-admit genius having a tiny bit of infatuation with her

One day while discussing the reports regarding her little creations, she was talking with one of the scientists that were monitoring their growth and Dr. Ratio stumbled upon the two and decided to linger

"Who the hell is he? What right does he have to stand close to her like that? Who does he think he is???"

His thoughts running rampant as they stand inches apart, Ruan Mei overlooking the little clipboard he had as she reviewed the data

She notices him in the corner of her eye and gives him a sideways glance. Before he could even register that he was noticed, Ruan Mei gives him a beaming smile

Dr. Ratio's heart explodes, not really, he reminds himself, its just a metaphor. I'm still alive, I'm fine, he thought as he feels the blood rush to his face. He turns the other way and buries his face into the book he always carries with him, hiding away the blush that crept to his face
