VERIVERY is making their 2nd comeback on July 31, so this is the perfect time to learn more about the group! 💘💖💞

BASIC INFO

Group: VERIVERY / 베리베리 / VRVR

Company: Jellyfish Entertainment (VIXX, GUGUDAN)

Debut: January 9, 2019

Fandom name: VERRER (베러) - it’s pronounced in a similar way to “better”. It means “If VERIVERY and their fans are together, we can be better” and “People who love VERIVERY”

VERIVERY is a 7 member boy group consisting of Dongheon, Hoyoung, Minchan, Gyehyeon, Yeonho, Yongseung and Kangmin. The name of the group is a combination of the latin word ‘Veri’ meaning ‘Truth’ and the english word ‘Very’. The letters VERI can be also an acronym for Various - Energetic - Real - Innovation

The group was first announced by the company in August 2018. VERIVERY has released a pre-debut song called Super Special which is the OST for their 1st reality show NOW VERIVERY

VRVR has the concept of being creative-dols, because the members are not only outstanding in music and performing but also in composing, writing lyrics, choreography and making videos

VERIVERY debuted in January 2019 with the song Ring Ring Ring and accompanying mini-album called VERI-US

(이제부터 시작이네요.) 1.오늘은 진짜로 그동안 제 글을 읽어주신 분들께서 축복해주셨으면 좋겠다고 생각하여 글로 찾아뵙게 되었습니다. 저를 사회 생활 때 아시는분들은 크게 문사범, 문조경사, 문강사(선생)로 분류해주십니다. 지금은 문사범이나 문조경사로 불릴일이 크게 없지만, 오늘은 제 파트너의 이야기를 할 예정이어서 언급해야 할것 같습니다. 2.초중고대 이외에 문사범때 시작된 인연이 지금까지 이어져오는 분은, 제 파트너(저희끼린 일본어관련 학원에서 만나게되서 아이카타라고 합니다만..)가 유일합니다. 2003년에 알게 된 인연이니 벌써 16년이 훌쩍 넘은 인연이네요. 과거에도 함께했었지만 제가 커피로 힘든시점에서 본격적으로 합류해줬고, 어려운 결정을 하더라도 묵묵히 지금까지 도와주면서 서로 의지하는 그런 사이입니다. 3.오프라인에서 저를 뵌 분들은 아시겠지만 저와 항상 +1 로 다니는 사람이 있었습니다. 제 파트너인데요. 사실 둘 다 극도로 내성적인 성격입니다. (둘 다 낯가림이 엄청납니다.) 어찌하다보니 그래도 외부로 나가는 일이 더 많아 제가 외향적인 면을 연기해야했고, 저희 파트너는 주목받지 못했습니다만, 묵묵히 저와 같이 이런저런 업무들을 다 진행해줬었습니다. (커피를 하는 동안 크고 작은 행사에 보시면 저희 파트너가 다 사진에 노출되어있습니다.) 실제로 만나보시면 아시겠지만, 제가 집-수업-연구-행사 스타일이어서 외부로 잘 안 돌아다닙니다. 파트너는 집-수업-연구 스타일이 저보다 더 강하다보니 많은 추측성 글이 오고 갔었습니다. 이자리를 빌어 밝힙니다만, 제 커피 생활과 연구, 활동에 있어서 지금 이친구가 존재하지 않았다면 불가능했습니다. 4.그런 제 파트너가 최근 일신에 변동이 생겨 커피를 그만해야할지도 모르는 시점이 다가왔습니다. 파트너의 표현으론 지역가입자 건강보험이 날라오는데 간만에 눈앞이 깜깜해지는걸 느꼈다고 하더군요. 평소에 대회는 담쌓고 지내는 저와 파트너였지만, 그동안 몇년간 이런저런 네이버 카페 내에서의 커피 나눔 행사라던가 NGO 라던가 비영리 단체, 국가 행사, J3 로스터기 , 그라인더 등등등의 개발에 있어서 언제나 함께해왔기에... 그래도 이번에 접게될지 모르겠지만 마지막이니 저희가 추구하는 로스팅이라는건 해보자. 라는 심정으로 파트너는 모 대회를 접수하게 되었습니다. 5.5월 중순 한쪽은 퇴사가 확정 된 후, 그리고 저는 퇴근 후 그와 만나서 대회준비에 대해서 이런저런 이야기 한게 생각납니다. 앞으로 뭐하고 먹고살아야할까 라던가 5년동안 같이 커피로 고생하면서의 추억 등등.. 대회에서의 나온 대회 총평은 나중에 이야기 드리겠습니다만.. 저는 열심히 어드바이스하고, 파트너는 최선을 다했습니다. 대회의 결과물은.. 사진으로..^^ 6. 남들은 이 대회의 결과물이 그다지...라고 생각하실지 모르겠지만, 바리스타 & 커피강사 문두환, 로스터 & 커피강사 이동헌. 이라는.. 프리랜서 프로필로 두명 도합 12년 경력에서.. 제 파트너의 이름으로 당당하게 상이 수여된 것은 이번이 처음이기에... 정말로 뜻깊은 결과라고 생각합니다. 7.저의 커피생활에 있어서 저와함께 고통을 반으로 나눴기에 함께 할 수 있었고, 지금도 저의 부족함을 매꿔주는 그입니다. 그의 수상을 진심으로 축하합니다. 앞으로도 서로 고생길이 여러가지로 다가오겠지만, 로스터 이동헌씨가 열심히 잘 해쳐나갈 수 있도록... 이글을 읽어주시는 분들의 많은 축복의 댓글 부탁드리겠습니다. ----------------------------------------------- 지극히 사적인 글인데, 끝까지 읽어주셔서 감사드립니다. 근�� 다른 소식으로 찾아뵙겠습니다. The Cohort facts/profile

The Cohort is also known as UNDER₩ATER Squad, Killer Whales or Orca Club.

“Walk with us”.

They have a clothes brand called Orca Wear (although it is currently out of stock, at least on their official web. If anyone know where to buy let me know!)

They released an album called “Orca Tape” featuring many members of the crew as well as some featuring artists such as G2, Reddy and Paloalto.

Jan’qui, Skinny Mooxe and, Lee Joon Suk helped with the making of “Orca Tape”.

It started with Kangkook and one of his friends from New York who knew Okasian and told him to “join”. Then JayAllDay heard from Reddy and told Okasian about him. From then on the members where naturally added. (They said in some interviews that they got together because they liked the same stuff, it was not really premeditated). 

Not all the members in the crew make music. Some of them are in charge of designing.

OKASIAN

His real Korean name is 김지용 (Kim JiYong) and his English name is Alexander Kim.

He speaks English fluently.

He is 173cm.

He lives in Seoul but he was born in the US. He grew up in Korea and then returned to the US to study in college.

He was born on the 11th March 1987.

He is dating SooYeon, since at least ay 2015.

He was involved in a fight with Dok2 when he dissed “It G Ma” (in which Okasian features). After the diss, Okasian called Dok2 a “fuckboy” on Instagram and told him to mind his own business.

He started writing his first lyrics and recording in a studio when he got into college.

He studied Biology in The Pennsylvania State University.

On the 20th May 2016 he ended his contract with Hi-Lite Records, choosing to be an independent artist.

He is currently signed under The Black Label.

His artistic name is a combination of the word “OK” and “Asian”. When you read it, it sounds as the word “Occasion”.

He had some legal problems in the past due to him being caught smoking weed.

He is mostly known for his song IT G MA (잊지마 'don't forget') featuring KOHH, Loota, Okasian and Jay AllDay.

He is the most well known member of The Cohort.

He had a confrontation with OG Maco because he accused Keith of cultural appropriation and that he stole the basis of his debut single “U Guessed It” for their track. On August 13, 2015, OG Maco collects royalties from “It G Ma” but he refused to be part of the remix rendition that would be made later on.

He is currently signed under CXSHXNLY Records.

At the beginning, his favourite song from “Orca Tape” was “New Seoul”, but after mixing and everything it was “Pluto”.

He directed the intro video for “Orca Tape”.

He is interested in directing.

BRYAN CHASE

He was born on August 31.

His real name is Bryan Choi.

He is from Virginia, US.

He is currently signed under The Black Label.

He lives in Seoul.

He used to be known as Play$tar, but changed his artistic name to Bryan Cha$e.

When he was in High School he liked Jay-Z and DMX. DMX was his main influence to start writing.

He didn’t listen to much K-hiphop, but when he was in the army a friend showed him Dynamic Duo’s songs and that’s when he started writing in Korean.

He doesn’t respect any K-pop idols because he thinks they’re puppets for their companies selling music they didn’t create themselves. He specially dislikes idol rappers.

He is a musician, producer and singersongwritter.

He can play the piano, the trumpet and the guitar.

KANGKOOK

His real name is 강민국 (Kang MinKook).

His favourite song from “Orca Tape” is “Gang-Gook / Kang-Kook” (not sure which transcription is the best), the same as Reddy.

He is one of the first members of The Cohort along with Oscar.

JA¥ALLDA¥

He features in Keith Ape’s song “It G Ma”.

Being a rapper is not his full time job, he does “many things here and there”.

He did the skit for “Orca Tape” while he was a little bit drunk.

He likes “Pluto” from “Orca Tape”, but if he had to choose just one song he would go with “New Seoul” because he thinks it shows The Cohort’s style.

He is not a musician.

He is in charge of fashion (outfits and overall image).

According to JayAllDay he is in charge of visuals.

Some of these facts are from old interviews, I tried to only write updated stuff, but somethings may not be 100% accurate now.

I’ve heard that there is this model, Park SungJin that is also a part of The Cohort, but I couldn’t really find anything about him and, to be honest, while doing this facts it has been the first time I’ve heard of him. I’ve tried looking up some more info about him, but all I got was about Goretexx (Just Music). Is he the same? Does anybody know?
