James grins as he pushes Waylon onto the bed, grabbing his chin and angling him to look at him better. “You think you’re hard to break? How sure are you about that?”

The first time was a surprise enough. That he’d agreed that night had stunned even himself, and he’d privately assumed he wasn’t going to agree again, that something in him had been more curious about what the other was like than anything.
And now James lets out a weak groan as Waylon pushes him up against the door, kissing him back desperately while the other man fumbles for his keys, letting out a soft whine.

Tayen. Maybe he could stop and see her. He’s closer to her place. It’s as good a stop as any... hold up.
James is in a tree, combing the area and getting himself together to keep moving. But he knows those uniforms, and the cart... concerns him. A lot. It’s been awhile since he saw those uniforms... but it’s hard to forget them.
It’s hard to forget anything from that incident.
Stealthily sliding out of the tree once they’ve passed, James follows behind them. Whatever’s going on... something tells him he needs to check in on it.

He brushes some of the ash off the spine of the book he’d found in the ruins of the library. Nope. Useless again. James puts it back and continues walking cautiously along the shelves, fidgeting with an old paperclip.
His head whips around at a noise, ducking down behind the shelf in front of him, peering around it, around the library, pulling his jacket sleeve down more, not saying anything, just looking to see what caused it.

“Hrm. You’re new,” his voice sounds over the intercom. “I can only imagine what brings you to my gates. The question is whether or not to let you past that point. What I do is highly complex and highly secretive, as you can imagine. So, why should I buzz you in?”
James glances up to the camera feed at the girl waiting to be buzzed in. Nervous, a hero probably but one can never be too sure. He was highly sought after for technological improvements-- whether it were for weapons, shields, communications, any of it, a lot of heroes wanted his work.
But so did a lot of villains. And a lot of villains wanted to know what he knew-- secret identities. So, one can never be too sure, that’s why he rarely works with someone new without a reference.

“Hey, Mackenzie, I can’t thank you enough for doing this,” James says as he approaches the other girl at a table just outside the library. “Seriously, I think I’m a lost cause, but if you’re really willing to give tutoring me a shot, then by all means honestly.”

Villains Won AU!
Starring Grayson Fenton, James Hawkins
Nowhere is really safe. Danny and Grayson had learned it well in the decade they’d kept moving. Grayson was caught up to the other ghost now, and planned to keep it that way moving forward. Clockwork’s gift could give them that much.
Auradon was a strange place. One that they hoped would be good for a while. It’s like looking for a needle in a haystack, right?
Wrong.
Skulker’s arrival surprises both, but Grayson turns invisible almost as the bounty hunter appears, knowing Danny would handle the other alone, he always did, he always could--
The blowback sends Grayson tumbling, then looking on in horror, he realizes Danny was losing, that Danny was getting the crap kicked out of him, Vlad must have given Skulker new tools, new--
No--
But he’s powerless, he can’t do anything, he can’t risk revealing himself to Skulker, not here, not like this, can’t put himself in that danger, mom and Danny would never ever forgive him--
Grayson shields his face, but can’t block out the screams, and looks back all the same--
................................................................................................................................
The woods seemed peaceful, it seemed. James stops when Mackenzie does, looking to her, wondering if she’s hearing something but-- then he sees it too.
That part of the woods used to have dense coverage. It looks like a field now. But there’s something different about this, about it. He glances to Kenz silently.
