A video made for Sukeno Yoshiaki sensei compiling messages from fans all around the world! Congratulations to Sukeno Sensei for the completion of Twin Star Exorcists! 🎉🎉
I’m not the least bit disappointed by the beautiful conclusion Sukeno-sensei has given us. A loving couple who managed to overcome fate, and a prophesied son who managed to reconcile with his parents. A happy family back together, able to live a normal life free of blood and strife.
I’m not disappointed; I’m just dissatisfied. I only have one complaint: ShiMayu was not made official.
And following the content of the final chapter, it makes sense; with Sayo practically on her deathbed, Shimon is wallowing in grief and hopelessness, not exactly a right time for romance. And Mayura realises that, which is why she is patiently waiting till he is alright, rejecting marriage interviews for the past ten years.
(That’s some real dedication, but this is Mayura we are talking about. It was her first 10-15 years — I’m just guestimating here — of persistence in her feelings for Rokuro that got her so far, however unsuccessful.)
But still, with all the teasing Sukeno-sensei did of this couple, you would expect he’d make it somewhat official. He even made other couples (Human and Basara) married with children, even couples we didn’t know were going to get together (like Ringo and Kimihiko, which was expected; or Beru and Yamato, which was a huge surprise to me, ngl)
So yeah, to heal my broken ShiMayu shipper heart, I’m delving into some art:
I plan to post it on my Insta once it’s done. For now, all you ShiMayu shippers out there who feel the same way I do, I hope you enjoy!
