I'm taking a Chinese/Japanese calligraphy class this semester (it's one of the required electives I can take for my second major and/or minor) and this is some Semi-Cursive/Running Script I did yesterday, my first day of learning Semi-Cursivs, and I'm really proud of it! It's of the character 無, which means "nothing" and is the traditional form of the character 无！My professor and I are in agreement that this is My Style that I'm gonna be good at and it's my favorite style so I'm pretty happy about that.

音を適度に崩してカッコよく書きたいと参考にしたのが、こちらの「音」。「立」「日」の崩し方は他でも使える。

The Shoin rock garden (書院石庭) is a wonderful dry landscape garden at Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine. Showa-era gardener Mirei Shigemori created it. The stone lantern in the corner of the rock garden dates back to the Kamakura period.

沢山本屋さんに訪れて、楽しい本と、その本屋さんの雰囲気と、日常を楽しみたいと思った本でした。沢山本を読みたいと思います。

I was supposed to have uploaded this yesterday but somehow I forgot to do it.

Today's painting is of Accelerator and Last Order. This time I wanted to play with more red and blue hues as well as lighting. Perhaps adding some light glare would do well, but I really want to see what I can do with just my brush which is why my art looks the way it does. Last minute I decided to add in a certain other pair.

25年1月3週目

海洋散骨しにハワイへ。行きの飛行機が今までになく空いていたので、2座席に横になれた。ただ足を伸ばせないのと、6時間半くらいの間に食事やドリンク出しが2回あるので実質横になれるのは3時間くらいでこれはどうしたって眠いよね。散骨は初日の午後に予約していたので、飛行機トラブルで遅れないかどうか、果たして伝えられた集合スポットがすぐに分かるかどうか、時間にちゃんと人が来るのか心配だったけど、どれもスムーズにいって執り行えて良かった。大好きなハワイでずっと揺蕩っていられるの羨ましい。2日目はカイルアまで。自転車をレンタルしてラニカイビーチまで足を伸ばした。3・4日目はほとんど予定がなく、買い物をしたり、散歩したり、ビーチのホテルに入ったり出たり。予定が詰まっていなかったおかげでいつもよりのんびりできた気がする。

旅行中に『百年の孤独』を読み始めたけど、またたぶんしばらくお預けだな。

行きの飛行機は『名探偵ポアロ ベネチアの亡霊』を観た。これはストーリーを知らずに観たけれど、ホラータッチだった。ケネス・プラナーの他のポアロシリーズと同様美しい映像が良かった。帰りの飛行機では『ウォッチャーズ』『タグ』『あの人が消えた』『実写アラジン』を観ていた。なぜだがアメリカの往復の飛行機でエド・ヘルムズの出ているコメディを知らずに観がちなんだけど、今回の『タグ』は彼が出てる作品で1番良かった。純粋に汚物や吐瀉物が出てこないからかもしれない。あとジェレミー・レナーがかなり作品を締めていた。
