His father was a reputable professor of fine art who vows never to paint again when he realized that his son surpassed him when he was just thirteen years old. He was brilliant as a child and was always in quest of that childhood spirit, right before betrayal and disappointment show their ugly faces. “It takes a long time to become young” he once said. I would like to show here a painting by Picasso when he was just fifteen (First Communion) as opposed to the “Reading” that he painted at 41 to illustrate his journey back to the age of innocence and simplicity. I am glad we were able to capture that in a pillow sham.
