A "Little" About Myself

Rambling about my interests, and what I'll eventually end up posting about.

I'm 19, a music major, and going into my fourth semester of community college (I would've been on track to graduate in December but I failed two classes in the Spring👍). I'm a bass player, but I dabble in piano, guitar, and drums.

I have a YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/@ma1kayl , that you can check out if you want to. I don't upload very often but I try to at least sometimes.

I'm really into Japanese music right now. My favorite bands and artists are Banshimoku, Bump of Chicken, Shishamo, Ano, Yui Ninomiya, and Machico.

I'm learning Japanese, but I'm kind of in an intermittent period right now. I've been using Duolingo for about two years, but it's not really doing it for me anymore, so I'm saving up a little to buy the Genki textbooks (if anybody sees this and has any other ideas, I'm open). In the meantime there's a couple different groups in my city that I'm a part of and attend events with. It's pretty cool.

I was really into anime/manga for about two and a half years but I got bored so now I'm trying to branch myself back out. The tentative top five is One Piece, KonoSuba, Monogatari Series, Hunter X Hunter, and Bleach.

If I had to pick my favorite video games they'd probably be NieR Replicant, Persona 4 Golden, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and NES Tetris.

As for movies/TV, I'm still working on that. Though I can at least confidently say both Classic and Modern Doctor Who, Seinfeld, and the new Denis Villeneuve Dune movies. I'm also reading Dune, I'm about halfway through Children of Dune. Banger.

I collect DVDs and video games. I was doing manga too, but, again, kinda got bored. And it's just way too expensive. $11.99 for a manga that will probably take me half as long to read as it would to watch a movie I can buy for like three bucks at my local store is insane.

I think that about covers it, but there might be a few addendums to this post later on down the line.

Will probably start posting for real tomorrow (it technically is tomorrow already but I don't really care).

Yui Ninomiya Asks The Meaning of Life in The World's Finest Assassin OP Theme MV

    Voice actress/singer Yui Ninomiya has posted a full music video for "Dark seeks light," one of the lead track in her forthcoming double A-side second single. The song carrying vivid lyrics that question the meaning of life will be featured as the OP theme for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Rui Tsukiyo's fantasy light novel The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat. The music video was directed by Keigo Inoue, known for his collaboration works with Kizuna AI.  

  20-year-old Ninomiya is best known as Ema Hinata in Aikatsu Friends! and Luvelia Sanctos in Peter Grill and the Philosopher's Time. She made her solo singer debut from Lantis with her first album "Ai toka Kanjoyu" in January 2020.

  Her double A-side second single "Dark seeks light / Sanbunteki LIFE" is set to be released on November 3, 2021. The single's another title tune "Sanbunteki LIFE" (Prosaic Life) will be featured as the ED theme for the TV anime Tesla Note, which will premiere in Japan on October 3, 2021. It means she provides two anime theme songs in the upcoming fall 2021 season.

      The TV anime The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat, directed by Masafumi Tamura (The Misfit of Demon King Academy) at Silver Link and Studio Palette, is set to premiere in Japan in October 2021, and will be also simulcast on Crunchyroll.
