I was recommending this in my Instagram stories but decided to do a fanart as well:D this is Tayama from Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You (スーパーの裏でヤニ吸うふたり) I can’t stress enough how much I like the vibe of this manga xD it’s not even that the story is amazing (it’s great don’t get me wrong) but the vibe of just them sitting behind a supermarket and talking about random stuff is just out of this world. Also, Sasaki coming back from work just thinking about having a smoke hits straight in the heart.

Amazing stuff go read it before it has like a bajillion episodes and you will have 4 years of story to catch up on:D

Before and after the storm.

Positive thing: I finally got my replacement credit card and got to buy some groceries.

I got lots more snacks to help make it through internship, so hopefully that'll make things easier. I also got some frozen samosas on sale and I'm excited to try those.

I skipped work (I had a training scheduled that I finished already and just decided to have the day off) and used Zoom to go to class instead of in person, so I got lots of rest today. I did have to go to a Fulbright related writing workshop online but that wasn't too bad, and it was actually pretty helpful. There's so many essays I need to do. Good thing I still have a few months left.

Internship feels so imminent. I wish it didn't take over 2 days of my week. I really need to get on finding another place for the Fall.

Oh yeah - I began reading and got caught up with the current chapters of スーパーの裏でヤニ吸うふたり (Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You) and I really enjoyed it. It has a lighthearted but very earnest and kind presentation of its characters, especially the main leads, which I really like. Also I think I'm just a sucker for beautiful witty women and men who are so so polite and both of them also being silly. I wish it was complete so I could binge all of it and not be in manga limbo, but alas. It'll have to join the ranks of "manga updates I actually need to keep up with" alongside Skip and Loafer.
