just learned that the way we (in the US at least) typically learn japanese conjugation is almost completely different from how it actually works

I don't think I know enough yet to explain it fully but basically for example た (like when we say 行った or 食べた) and ます (like when we say 行きます or 食べます) can be conjugated themselves bc they're actually 助動詞

so that's how we end up with words like いらっしゃいませ bc the 〜ませ is a conjugation of ます

and also when we say 食べたら there's actually two conjugated pieces here which is the 動詞 (食べ, a conjugation of 食べる) and 助動詞 (たら, a conjugation of た)

After escaping Karafuto with Ogata, he became significantly more clingy. As they say, shared trauma results in strong bonds. With everything we had experienced together, from Abashiri to almost losing each other, our relationship had developed onto another higher level. The vulnerability and possibility of losing each other was thrown in our face. And during this time, there was nothing more that we wanted than just to be together. To be as impossibly close to each other.

This takes place during the Tanabata festival. Ogata is wearing the same Yukata as the collaboration for the event. He was very needy that day, wanting nothing more than to bury his face into my chest. Although, i would say it is not very comfortable due to not having a very big chest. Nonetheless, Ogata didn’t care. He would always reassure me, that nothing was more comfortable to him them being there right on me. Laying his head as he nuzzled his face on my chest and hearing my heart beat.
