I had the honor of being Mixi’s secret santa for this event and I really loved being able to make art of their mysterious and spooky fanfic🩸🌲I enjoyed every second of reading it!!

A few things I especially loved about it was the imagery is done so well and really captured the mood, and also the interactions between Will and Prospero

I’m curious where the story will lead to next and I’m definitely looking forward to future chapters!!!

If any of the artist I made this for see this, I hope you like it even maybe a portion as much as I do. Maybe more. Genuinely, each of these three artists inspire me to continue my hobby of making art. The reason I even do this hobby is to share it in hopes to inspire others. As much courage as it takes for me to even make these much less post them is just proof to myself how far I've come in terms of social interaction. I thank my friend, my mom and teacher for supporting my hobbies and specifically convincing me to make this. I'm off on a ramble, apologies.

I really do hope you like this. Each character has something I added to them, and I explain in their dedicated paragraph. Then you also get an overall part:).

MIRA ♡

Necromosss is the second BG3 artist I found on Tumblr and I adore their art. Everytime I see Moss post, I promise you I immediately spread it to my friends just so they get the recognition they deserve.

Mira was the last character I ended up drawing, and is definitely the most hurried and sloppy. I made hers pretty late, close to the time I sleep, yet I do feel proud of how I made her. Imagining Mira in the stories I've created, I believe she'd fit in with Meladonia, a kingdom of ghosts, poison, and death. Overlooking the main theme, Meladonia's queen, Chamixie (and funny enough, my character who romanced Gale), is a very lighthearted, flirty person. She, while respecting death and it's concepts, is always up to make an occasional joke. She doesn't take everything personally, and I think she'd get alone well with Mira. The Meladonia magic is dark magic known at Kalak. 'Mixie (Chamixie's nickname) created Kalak as a form of a way to express herself. Kalak magic is not negative, and it's not harmful. In fact, Kalak magic is meant to heal and embrace your fears to use positively. Most of the time, using Kalak magic causes small white, almost snake-like slits to form in the pupil of the user's eyes.

STAEVE ☆

MAF is the first BG3 artist I found on Tumblr. I can't put in to words how much they've inspired me. Me and my mom both love Staeve, we think he's great, and I can't wait to see more art from Velnna.

Staeve is the first character I drew, and though not as rushed as Mira's, I wasn't confident drawing him. I'm not too sure about how I drew him, though I do hope anyone reading this likes it. Much like Mira, I imagine he'd be from Meladonia if put in my stories.

In case you haven't read about Kalak magic, I'll copy it: The Meladonia magic is dark magic known at Kalak. 'Mixie (Chamixie's nickname) created Kalak as a form of a way to express herself. Kalak magic is not negative, and it's not harmful. In fact, Kalak magic is meant to heal and embrace your fears to use positively. Most of the time, using Kalak magic causes small white, almost snake-like slits to form in the pupil of the user's eyes.

I've, as an anon, told Velnna about one version of my first OC (Broodmother Nera). And she's a version of my main five characters. Her and Chamixie are sisters, four years apart (Nera is 28). Chamixie is a much more sort of flirty person and takes everything told to her with a drop of comedy, unless it's extremely serious (ex: any abuse) as she has experienced negative situations herself. I imagine that she'd want to be friends with Staeve as long as he wants to, but would likely rather protect him even if he doesn't want to be friends. Staeve reminds Chamixie of Alison, the youngest of the five sisters, and was Chamixie's previous life's bio daughter. Even if they are sisters in this life, Chamixie still, while not overprotective, is cautious around Alison. To an extent, Staeve gives off a similar vibe as Alison, and 'Mixie would do more than her best to help Staeve without being overbearing.

I hope this is interesting enough, and that you enjoy how I drew Staeve.

HALION ◇

I have so much trouble remembering how to write this lovely man's name, please correct me if it's wrong, I have terrible memory.

I recently found Bara, and I love all their characters. (No joke though, I ran to my mom to show her your characters). Halion is definitely one of my favourites.

I was the most confident creating Halion, and I genuinely am proud of my art. This is honestly one of the few times I do feel proud of myself. From the posts I read, which is not too many, I love his cheery personality. He makes me believe he'd be from Parfi if he was in my stories. Parfi is the kingdom of the Wasteland, but is known for war, previously known for lust, but after Lord Clemin became the ruler, she changed it to accommodate travellers. While it was re-built for wars, she's made it a beacon of light within a desert. That reminds me of Halion. Clemin, as a ruler, comes off as strong and demanding. But out of all five of the rulers, and as the second oldest sister, she's very soft. Even with her own insecurities, she lifts people up and encourages their positive ambitions. She's actually not very confident, even though presenting as such. Even if she is very silent, and kind of reserved, she'd feel comfortable with talking to Halion.

She created Taei magic, the magic of heat. Taei magic is considered neutral magic, and though she has used it negatively on herself, Taei was meant to be positive. Using Taei magic is essentially holding the essence of a flame, and it's a guiding light to find others. Clemin wants the people of her and her sister's kingdoms to never have to experience what any of them did/do. Using it reflects a flame in the user's eyes.

I hope you agree he'd be from Parfi, and if not, tell me why:)! I also hope you like the art I made for him.

OVERALL/EXTRA

I'm sorry this post is so long, and I wanted to be finish setting up my blog when I made this but I'm just too impatient to do so. The reason this post is so long is because while I could've made art of any artist I enjoy, these three artists inspired me the most. (And I'm an overthinker, so I want to make sure you understand how much I appreciate these artists.)

I hope you enjoy the ideas I had and the art I made. I love all three of these pieces I've made, and I love the original art that they were based on more. And if it's alright with the artists, I'd love to draw more!:)

From worst to best:

7.Secret of Omega Supreme

I know, I know, controversial! This episode is truly more about the titular character than the Constructicons and it introduces my least favorite origin for them. Not a bad episode and it has some cool scenes involving my boy Devastator, but eh... Don't care!

6.The Autobot Run

This episode has a laughably bad premise, even for G1! But dare I say, the character interactions and quips save this from total oblivion, and the Constructicons aren't an exception to that! So many great interactions and lines (Long Haul saying "Finally! We're gonna make little Autobots out of big ones AHAHAHA!" and "at last, conflict!", how can you not love it?). Devastator also has a great fighting sequence! You know, great as in stupidly fun, like him hitting the Autobots as if they were bowling pins. I remember rewatching the scene where they de-combined Devastator over and over again, for some reason I was obsessed with the delivery there.

5.The Core

This episode is shit from the ass in terms of plot, like... We already have a better episode... With the same "plan of the week". I just wish this one focused more on the "Devastator is now an Autobot weapon" side of the plot and was better paced.

That being said, I still adore the Constructicons here! Their interactions are awesome and I love how this established them as friends, like... Waow... I also adore how big of a focus Devy has, he even gets to save the day!

4.City of Steel

The episode where the Constructicons shit-talk each other, make an alligator, and Devastator does King Kong. Perfect.

Not only do I love their banter but this episode has my favorite Scrapper scene: him forgetting the word "damage" for no reason... Like WHY? Love my ADHD king. This is also the episode where Mixy has a stutter... More than perfect.

3.Heavy Metal War

Introduction episode, what can I say?

Despite them being the secondary plot, I very much adore them here. This episode establishes Scrapper as their leader AND introduces the Dinobots as one of their rivals (their superior rivals if I say so myself.) I also love how Devastator comes in as a surprise, like WOW they combine into a big robot, how novel, I'll buy a toy! I also adore how they defeat Devy by making him shit his pants in fear of another combiner... Girl, you're so pathetic...

2.Triple takeover

My favorite G1 episode... And it just so happens to have the Constructicons there! What a joy!

I absolutely love traitorous Constructicons as a concept, these guys do not care about Megatron at all ahahah.

This is also one of the episodes where we have Scrapper building a THRONE out of near-dead Autobots and sitting on it... You're awesome, Scrappy...

Of course, the best part is the Constructicons busting in on Blitzwing and demanding him to own his part of the deal... And the fucking idiot curses off the six guys who turn into a giant robot... Great stuff.

Also... How did Megatron defeat Devastator? Is he that pathetic? My big loser is actually a loser?

1.The Master Builders

THE PERFECT CONSTRUCTICON-FOCUSED EPISODE! If you're going to watch something with them, watch this one.

I love moody Grapple and reserved Hoist, such a cute duo of characters already AND THEN you put the Constructicons with them? Perfect!

This is also the episode where the Constructicons are shown to be two-faced bastards who change on the turn of a dime, and well, I find this better than brain-washing, sue me. I also love their personalities here, cheery Scrapper casually convincing Grapple to let them work on his project, and then acting the same after they decide to betray Grapple on Megatron's command... Wtf is your problem.

I also adore the Constructicons making Grapple do their work for them, ahahah. They remind me of older engineers/technicians messing with the new guy at work for kicks and giggles.

I also love how much of fuckups the Constructicons are... Good job on conspiring behind Megatron's back then immediately getting caught red-handed and making up a fucking lie on the spot, you're terrible.

Devastator is also at his peak here. This is the episode that inspired my characterization of him... He just messes with the Autobots and is outsmarted by them and defeated by the Constructicons' own work... The irony... Is rich. Like, how much of a jerk can he be?? He laughs at Optimus Prime, he dismisses Cliffjumper and he SMIRKS when he falls on the ground and somehow grabs warpath.

I need him dead. Immediately.

I need to hear your thoughts on Will and Eulalie as friends… they have so much potential and I am rotating them around in my brain. Like, did you see how they interacted in the manor arc. I need Eulalie to talk to Will and see how lonely he is and actually like get to know him. I need him to listen diligently as she talks about all the cool things she knows. I need him to braid her hair, and ask her questions and follow her around like a lost puppy. I need them to talk about their backstories and empathize and learn and grow thanks to their conversations. Both of them seem to me to be caretakers and I need them to talk abouttt it. Augh I’m goin insane!!!

(it’s also my personal theory both were at least tangentially involved with the foster system/orphanages, and I’d love to hear them talk about it and how they could relate to each other… even if they had nothing to do with that sort of stuff I need them to talk about their pasts) whoops, sorry this got away from me!

Mixi this is you and I know it and yet even still I am so overjoyed because YES. My gosh Eula has such a general approach of gentility that Will hasn’t really seen. I need him to see her as a safe place to go with his questions because she seems to answer him quite earnestly. She treats Will as though he hasn’t actively hurt them, and in a way she sees him as exactly that sort of following puppy and that’s why she expresses that her hatred was never meant for him and it was mever his job to take the blow and get skewered. And yet I feel as though she’s one of the few people who will consider him as truly useful, when he’s tossed a side she’ll extend a hand because that was all he ever needed. She’s loved and cared for one broken porcelain doll before, what is another that will turn to her and offer her that loyalty Will holds in endless bounds?

also oooooo foster care system for them would be wild, Eula who takes others in due to it, and Will who is always looking for a place where his heart may rest and lie. Searching for a home, and sheltering those who have none, that would be crazy sickkkk agh and they would just have such PERSONAL conversations I soooo see it

How to remove Magic Mixies Pixie Supremes from their box without going through the gimmick

Pro tip: Don't. Do not do this. It is not worth it. Just cover the confetti hole and go through the gimmick reveal, it will be a thousand times easier than the surgical extraction I just went through.

My journey started by removing the screws from the back of the magic mirror case. Be warned, some of them are set in deep so you'll need a long thin screwdriver to reach them. (I had to go out and buy a new one) There were about a dozen screws total at this step. Now you can remove the back plate to access the insides.

There are more screws on the top and bottom, also recessed but with some tugging and jostling of the outer case you can reach them with your long screwdriver.

Do not mess with this thing. It's the spring-loaded confetti that launches at the end of the reveal. I tugged on it and the confetti went everywhere which was, coincidentally, the exact thing I was trying to avoid.

Here you can see the top, and some of the screws that need to be loosened. All of these screws you're unscrewing are to pull the front casing off. Now, on the front of the case to the right of the mirror is a door you can force open (it's propped closed with tabs like door jambs, but pull persistently with gentle force and it will open). You can also push on the mirror to move it back and make more space between the front casing and the doll compartment.

The doll is on the right side of the mirror, held in place for her reveal. All that's stopping you from opening the door all the way and getting her out are two of those white pegs, one on the top and bottom, holding the door shut. I don't think you're meant to ever get in this way, so I just sawed through the side of the peg holder with a sharp utility knife. Again, I do not recommend doing any of this.

With the white pegs no longer holding it together, you can pop the whole front of the case off so you can fully access the doll and cut her loose. I highly doubt I could put it back together and expect it to work again.

(And after all of that, her stand is bent and her mouth is off-center)

I actually really like her, her hair is pretty much the usual Pixlings quality, which means nice soft nylon, and I find the off-center mouth placement endearing and unique. I got her on sale on Amazon for about 35 bucks, but as someone who is not going to interact at all with the magic mirror gimmick, I would still consider that way overpriced for the quality of articulation and clothing, not to mention the amount of waste generated. I didn't get a picture of it, but these magic mirrors are easily five or more inches thick, they're MASSIVE, and you are very clearly not meant to access the doll by any means other than the gimmick reveal.

I kind of destroyed this one figuring out how to open it, so as much as I like the doll, to buy another one I would have to find it on sale for far less than thirty dollars, which I don't imagine will happen. This one is Skylar, the amazon exclusive, and I believe she's still on sale. I got her because I like her face the best and she's the only one to come with a second dress. If you get her, please don't destroy the gimmick and just donate it to a thrift store or a kid in your life or something. I actually feel gross and very guilty for how much waste I made here. Brb gotta donate to charity or something.

Nothing vintage but I am really happy for the Barbies color reveal -especially the elusive Ken ^^ - because I'm trying to have all of the mermaids from the different waves, I love them! The Magic mixies plush is so cute, I hope it can work without the wand! (and I also need to change the batteries)

Kaleidoscope made it to the finale, so here's my propaganda speech...

Kaleidoscope (or M&M) has never canonically interacted, nor is it possible for them to do so.

But that's what's so great about it, the fandom has taken one look at these two blorbos and went, "Yeah, they could be a thing" and made these beautiful headcannons and fanon things for them to be together.

Kaleidoscope lives purely off of non-canon ideas and stretched/ignored canon and in the end, isn't that what "non-canon" shipping is really about? Finding two little guys that could never be together and saying, yes they could?

What makes Kaleidoscope more impressive is that, unlike the other ships, we have no idea of their dynamics and interactions. With canon ships you can see how they interact and build off of that, Kaleidoscope is - once again - built off of the fans ideas, theories and headcannons.

Their story/trope dynamic is also hella cute. An artist who can create anything they want × A "demi-god" who can't control the colours/structures they create.

A person who is from a dull one coloured town × A God who can use any colour anywhere

Some fanon things that are also hella cute for them:

Communicating through colours and textures, Malitae not being mad about the Wack - and even growing to appreciate it, artist buddies, Malitae sort-of knowing Midas (post-finale) as they would remember Quixis (Mixis,), Showing each other things from their worlds...

Also their ship name is super cute!? And explosion of shapes and colours, it's literally them! And they even have a second ship name, (M&M) they're little colourful, chocolate lollies! What's not to love!?

All Magic Mixies Genie Lamp Variants

Hey y'all! Welcome to another upcoming holiday season of Magic Mixies! This year's theme will be an interactive magic genie lamp. Just like the previous cauldron and crystal ball, you won't know which variant of each color you'll receive until you unveil them!

As of the time I am writing this blogpost (so August 2023), the rainbow edition is sold through Argos only. Also, there is no glow-in-the-dark edition as far as I can tell. If another color edition does show up, I'll update this chart.

What are Magic Mixies?

Consider this yet another recommendation for a safe replacement for That Wizard Book...

Magic Mixies is a line of interactive toys, with its main gimmick being that you can CREATE your own familiar by mixing ingredients in a cauldron!

I've already talked about them here on this blog some time ago, but here's a video explaining its mechanics:
