tyson clay weaver. 40. ranch owner, wrangler and trainer. retired bronc rider now owner of white river ranch due to the death of his father isaac. he loved the rodeo's growing up, always annoying the wranglers to take him to them in town when he was younger, spent more time on a horse than he did his own two feet. knew exactly who and what he wanted to be at a young age, and his parents were supportive of that decision, even if the thought of it scared the shit out of julia. he married soon into his twenties to marissa preston, but as soon as he retired to return to work for his father due to his illness she left him ... enjoying his rodeo life, but not the ranch life. they aren't divorced, just seperated for the time being. she lives in the city, and that's not the life for him.

bryne julia weaver. 26. barrel racer and aspiring country singer. she was an unplanned pregnancy between aging parents who thought they were done having children --- having three prior to her. the pregnancy was high risk due to julia's age, but saw it as a sign and despite doctor's warnings she went through with the pregnancy, wanting the child. julia unfortunately did not survive the pregnancy, opting to save bryne and died a few hours after the birth. enjoys the ranch life but wants something more for herself. she's a damn talented barrel racer, but her hearts in music and that's what she wants to do with herself. tyson thinks her head's in the clouds, but otherwise trying to be supportive of her.

grant jason walker. 28. wrangler and ranch - hand. nephew to tyson and bryne through their sister, lucy weaver. unfortunately at a young age the walker family got into a bad car accident, and the only one that survived was the young grant. sent to live with tyson, who lucy named his godfather as well as giving custody to him in any event something happened to them. he's a bit standoff-ish, preferring the company of animals than that of people, but it makes him a damn good horse trainer. he bull rides when the rodeo is in town, but due to tyson not having any children, he's being prepped to take over the ranch at some stage so he's concentrating on that.

first born problematic child: isaiah. definitely inherited gadiel's meanness. cut-throat and impatient. completely loyal but utterly unpredictable and volatile. shows very little self-restraint. changed because he was dying to sickness and gadiel took mercy on him. spends his days collecting knowledge and keeping tabs on vampire-kind.

the favored one: rosalyn. empathy personified but not to be mistaken for weakness. can cut but often sees no need to. diplomatically keeping her brothers from killing each other over every little trifling argument. sunshine and adored by gadiel aka the only reason he doesn’t get headaches. doctor of the family & fostering many stray animals. changed by gadiel due to injury and life threatening complications.

perpetually lost and fickle but beautiful: asmodeus. frivolous and happy go lucky. not particularly bloodthirsty but very self-indulgent and indifferent to humanity. at odds with isaiah almost always. probably somewhere hungover in europe but calls frequently to keep gadiel off his back. ironically changed by isa during a fit of feeding.

oh purely political arranged marriage could be interesting to see because yeah, of all the characters rj could've chosen, he picked the one guy that was pretty much enslaved and sexual assaulted and yet was willing to sacrifice his own escape to free collared woman. Like sure, that guy would fall in love with a slaver and then even worse, sort of defend the Seanchann. Respectfully, fuck that.

So that marriage could be interesting, especially if it ends with Tuon breaking it off for whatever reason.

Personally, I think the show (and the books) should end with either Mat in the polycule (which ofc is not gonna happen) or single. We don't need to have all our heroes paired off (side-eyeing Moiraine/Thom).

yeah, i think the route the show needs to go is setting mat up as someone who is entering this marriage with the intention of fixing (or destroying) the seanchan empire from the inside. because it's not his character to go in with any other mindset. now, whether that includes genuine love for a changed tuon who will help him fix/destroy things or whether he's working as a solo operator with no feelings for her will depend on how many seasons they end up getting.

(and like, in the books we can headcanon that this is what he would've done post-canon, we can say "oh this is probably the route rj would've gone if he'd been able to write outriggers", but the idea that mat has serious intentions of trying to change stuff in seanchan and use his new position as prince of ravens for good is BARELY there in the actual text, if at all. the show needs to make it explicit. we don't need to witness the destruction of the empire within the show, it's fine to leave that as a post-canon loose end, but we need to feel confident that mat Has Plans and isn't just going to sit around being a slaver empress's yes-man for the rest of his life, because that's not his character.)

anyway, back to the show! i'm sure their 8-season plan includes a proper mat/tuon romance arc, but i think of all the PRIMARY romances (so not counting moiraine/thom & siuan/bryne which totally are not happening regardless) this one's the most likely to get cut if they DON'T get the full 8 seasons. perrin/faile and rand/aviendha will definitely be happening in s3, and the show already announced its rand/elayne intentions with that romantic meet-cute shot. i could see rand/min being cut and the polycule only being avirandlayne if the show only goes to 5 seasons (which may be why the show's withholding the polycule viewing for now, to play it safe in case they can't get to it all), but any more than that and i think rand/min will make it in (not that i would be mad if it didn't............just saying!). egwene/gawyn is also at risk for the chopping block in a less-than-8-seasons scenario since they get together so late in the story, but it IS plot-crucial that they're at least warder-bonded and emotionally connected in SOME way by the last battle.

mat/tuon, though, in addition to being one of the latest-game ships, there is 0 story reason they need to have a significant emotional connection. the only story necessity from that relationship is mat corralling the seanchan army to fight in the last battle, which can be accomplished just as well by a feelings-free political marriage (and in the books even this was mostly accomplished by rand lmao mat barely did shit in getting the seanchan to TLB). so i could definitely imagine feelings-free political marriage, with maybe the Implication that feelings might develop later, being their "fewer-seasons backup plan" for mat/tuon. it will be very interesting to see whether mat gets his marriage prophecy next season and see whether the show is willing to commit to that marriage as early as s3! i think this MARRIAGE prophecy is less risky to include early than the polycule LOVE prophecy, because you can always last-minute cram a political marriage into whatever ends up being the final season but you can't cram in actual love without enough time to develop it.

what does your muse smell like ? Typically some form of citrus, thanks to her shampoo and conditioner, not to mention the soaps she likes to use, but also often alcohol or other things to sanitize thanks to being in the medical profession. If she's not been working, she'll usually smell like whatever she's been cooking!

what do your muse’s hands feel like ? Her hands are mostly soft, but there are a few callouses on her finger pads and some scars on the backs of her hands from cooking and helping her parents in their jewelry shop and workshop. She likes to try and take care of them, but often gets distracted by everything else... and most lotions she'd use end up getting washed off multiple times a day, thanks to the medical profession again lmfao

what does your muse usually eat in a day ? Her diet varies pretty wildly, honestly. It's almost always homecooked, though, with a few prepackaged meals or snacks during the middle of the day if she really needs it. What she actually eats is really up to her mood and what she has on hand. She's very much interested in learning about foods from different cultures, so she's always exploring new recipes and whatnot. Her defaults are Italian, Japanese, and American foods!

does your muse have a good singing voice ? Yes! She's actually a brilliant singer. Her singing va would be Annapantsu from youtube!! Also a good voice for her in general.

does your muse have any bad habits or nervous ticks ? Her worst habit is simply not sleeping because she feels like she needs to continue to get things done. Otherwise, she also has a habit of lying about how she's feeling in order to not "burden" anyone, and for nervous ticks she will tap her fingers, hum, comb her fingers through or over her hair, tug on her clothes, and chew on her lips!

what does your muse usually look like/wear ? Bella typically prioritizes comfort over style, so she's nearly always in a long skirt or dress because pants need to be custom tailored for her and she finds that entire process annoying and expensive! She also has to cover a lot of skin because of her albinism to make sure that she doesn't get sunburned. So lots of cardigans, long sleeves, maxi skirts and dresses...

is your muse affectionate ?  how so ? Very much so. She's a very physically affectionate person, often giving hugs, holding hands, patting heads, even giving platonic kisses on cheeks and foreheads to people she knows are comfortable with as much. Bella is quick to offer physical affection when she knows that the person on the receiving end is comfortable with as much. She also speaks very affectionately, uses terms of endearment, etc.

what position does your muse sleep in ? Either curled on her side or in a free-fall pose. Sometimes starfish.

could you hear your muse in the hallway from another room ? Sometimes! If she's not really thinking about it, she tends to be very quiet. But she is very capable and very willing to get loud if the situation demands it in her mind.

Let's (re)Read The Eye of the World! Chapter 41: Old Friends and New Threats

This chapter has Moiraine's staff for its icon because she is back in Rand's life and she is ready to fix all of his problems by curing Mat. Hooray!

Lamgwin was sitting on a bench by the door, a brindle cat in his arms, when he came running up. The man stood to look for trouble the way Rand had come, still calmly scratching behind the cat’s ears. Seeing nothing, he sat back down again, careful not to disturb the animal.

There's something wonderful about a big man who loves kitties and treats them right. I don't remember if we ever get a Lamgwin POV, but I kinda hope we do now.

“The Queen, eh? You don’t say. We had Gareth Bryne out in the common room an hour or so ago, arm-wrestling the Lord Captain-Commander of the Children, but the Queen, now . . . that’s something.”

I'm sad that Bryne never got to arm-wrestle Niall or at least Galad, because that would be hilarious.

This man stands at the heart of it. Rand felt a chill. “I don’t stand at the heart of anything,” he said harshly.

Rand's capacity for denial is almost unlimited. He's literally having his dreams haunted by Ba'alzamon who he not unreasonably thinks is the Dark One. Darkfriends hunt him at every turn, aided by Shadowspawn and Padan Fain. An Ogier thinks he's ta'veren and an Aes Sedai foretells that he stands at the center of strife and suffering to come. "I don't stand at the heart of anything. They must have me confused for Brand al'Thur from Emma's Field in Illian. Common mistake; I get his mail sometimes!"

“I know,” Loial said. “I still cannot go into the streets without raising a mob shouting ‘Trolloc’ after me. But Mat, at least, only uses words. He has not tried to kill me.”

Fuck you Book 1 Mat.

Master Gill’s eye fell on the stones board and his mood seemed to lighten. “It looks as if we’ll have to start the game over later.” “No need for that.” Loial stretched an arm to the shelves and took down a book; his hands dwarfed the clothbound volume. “We can take up from where the board lies. It is your turn.”

Poor Gil, trying to at least get out of a bad game with some dignity intact and Loial won't even let him get that much.

I’m looking for Darkfriends, a boy from the Two Rivers—

This is actually a nice way to establish that the rest of the party's had enough time to reach Caemlyn now - and so have the Whitecloaks they escaped. These dudes are looking for Perrin and Egwene, wanted murderer and accomplice, and so ironically if they'd been allowed to finish their sentence things would have ended up a lot less tense for Gill (who isn't hiding them) and a lot more tense for Rand.

The scrape of chair legs was loud. Suddenly every man in the room was on his feet. They stood still as statues, but every one staring grimly at the Whitecloaks. The under-officer did not appear to notice, but the four behind him looked around uneasily.

Nothing but love for the inn patrons. I hope each and every one of these nameless heroes made it all the way to the end, and my headcanon says they do!

When he saw Rand, the innkeeper tottered off the chair and over to him. “Who would have thought I had it in me to be a hero?” he said wonderingly. “The Light illumine me.”

This might be a bit of ta'veren pushing Gill around, but let's remember that ta'veren doesn't completely change people, just makes them fall into the pattern. Gill always had it in him and before this series is done he'll do a lot more.

Nynaeve and Egwene ran laughing to throw their arms around him, with Perrin crowding in behind them, all three patting his shoulders as if they had to be convinced that he was really there.

Let's just all appreciate the stark contrast between EotW allowing there to be a quiet moment of reunion that shows how much the EF5 love each other and AMoL going out of its way to prevent any major group reunion and also being sure not to narrate any of the lesser ones that it couldn't help but acknowledge.

“I knew you were alive,” Egwene said against his chest. “I always knew it. Always.”

Rand nodded encouragingly, trying to tell him silently that it was all right. Moiraine was not like Elaida, with a threat hidden behind every glance, under every word. Are you sure? Even now, are you sure?

Usually Moiraine's threats are pretty blatant Rand. Remember how terrifying it was when she said she'd kill you herself if she had to? That wasn't subtle at all!

Rand exchanged a fleeting look with Perrin, who put his eyes down again right away. There was something odd about Perrin’s eyes. And he was so silent; Perrin was almost always slow to speak, but now he was saying nothing at all.

The lack of communication between the main characters is a lot more believable right now because Rand is just happy to see Perrin's alive and, not knowing what's gone down, doesn't want to pry too much about something that seems traumatizing.

Egwene touched Rand’s sword, fingering the red wrappings. “What does it mean?” “Nothing,” he said. “Nothing important. We’re leaving for Tar Valon, remember?” Egwene gave him a look, but she removed her hand from the sword and took up where Perrin had left off.

Rand dear, don't be dismissive. Everyone can tell something's up with this town and Egwene doesn't want to be in the dark in case this comes back to bite her.

“Pretty Nynaeve,” Mat spat. “A Wisdom isn’t supposed to think of herself as a woman, is she? Not a pretty woman. But you do, don’t you? Now. You can’t make yourself forget that you’re a pretty woman, now, and it frightens you. Everybody changes.” Nynaeve’s face paled as he spoke—whether with anger or something else, Rand could not tell.

With all three of the others, Mat seems to go right for the jugular. It almost feels supernatural. I wonder: is his loyalty to Rand just that much stronger than the others, or is it the fact that he was strongly loyal to Rand and didn't leave his side? If Mat and Rand had been separated for weeks, would Mat be coming at him now just as strongly?

One minute Lan was in the doorway, the next he was at the bedside, as if he had not bothered with the intervening space. His hand caught Mat’s wrist, stopping the slash as if it had struck stone. Still Mat held himself in that tight ball. Only the hand with the dagger tried to move, straining against the Warder’s implacable grip. Mat’s eyes never left Moiraine, and they burned with hate.

Lan, you're one hell of a badass. The man might be the best Warder that ever was.

You three have escaped them too long. It looks as if you’ve brought a new Trolloc War to Caemlyn, sheepherder.

Perrin spoke with a soft flatness that gave his words more weight than if he had shouted. “We can’t stop it alive, either, now can we?”

Geez, the death march and nights of torture did not agree with this kid. It's actually impressive how much he'll bounce back going forward because right now he's got enough negativity to equal Gollum!Mat.

This was kind of a transitory chapter, firmly ending the second act of this book to set up for the final stretch, so there's not much to analyze. Next time though... more set-up as the group figures out just what it should be doing. But then... another transition as the group finds a way to leave town. So yeah. Bit stretched out, this section. That's okay though. It's gonna pick up.

Liam Bryne was born in Dublin to a modest family. His father was a teacher and his mother worked at a hotel nearby. His younger years, he spent a lot in the places nobody knew about at the hotel and the people there became some sort of extended family to him. There were no tragic events in his youth, and while he was not the best at school, he managed to stay away from most troubles. This would end when at 18 , his parents died in a car accident. It had been a harsh winter, the road was slippery, the car fell down a ravine. Liam survived but endured being with his parents for more than a day. He realized at the hospital how alone he was, how fast life could end and how lost he was. It took months for him to figure out what to do and get out of the grief enough to think of a future. He sold the house, he sold everything, and left. While Dublin had given him life, it had also taken his family, thus becoming a tomb to him.

He roamed through Europe for a while, trying to forget the accident, the smells, the pain. Liam tried to heal, but it seemed like the more he pushed it all away, the more it ate him. It came to the point where he decided to knock on that fateful iron gate in Paris. The emblem on the gate read “légion étrangère”  (foreign legion).  He had listened to people talking about it and felt compelled to give it a try. Their reputation was worldwide, respected and maybe feared by many, he did find a way in being a legionnaire. The training was intense to the point of him feeling physically sick, but it was also cathartic. For the first time since his family died, he felt like he belonged to this unit, brothers in arms. He would finish top of his class and go become a paratrooper.

By the time the virus hit, Liam acting captain was on a mission in South America. From the company a lot died within the first hours of contact. Long months followed; the orders last in were to go up to Canada. He was honestly not sure they would make it. In the end, only two remained by his side: Tessa and Brady. The trio eventually stumbled on Penny when Liam was wounded by savagers attacking. Even though he was injured, he put a lot of them down before collapsing. A fever struck and they stumbled on Redwood just in time to treat him. Showing the tough nature of being a Legionnaire, he was up and running before he should have. Honestly, he found hope in Redwood, and after discussing it with Tessa and Brady, they agreed that there wasn’t anyone to return to , probably. The radio had been still for a long time. So they joined, as hunters and protectors of the civilians.

They were on a hunting trip when the reavers attacked but managed still come back to defend Redwood. A lot of blood was shed by the legionnaires on that day, who then proceeded to give them a burial themselves. Liam disagreed with a lot of the Beckett’s decisions but kept his anger at bay thanks to Penny. That , sadly only lasted until a night around a bonefire and a revelation that would push him off a wrong end. After a violent fight with her, the day after, he decided to leave, not giving any explanation, not even to David with whom he had bonded closely. In fact, he left things sour with a lot of people as he left. Tessa decided to join him, while Brady decided to remain. It has been months now, but it seems that a familiar face is to make a return to Redwood.

Send a 👫and I’ll write four headcanons I have about our muse’s relationship.

Gadiel, of course, struggles with who has more 'power' in their relationship. Mostly, it's a pride thing for him. Who has the stronger willpower amongst the two arrogant vampires and who is going to bend to the other's will? It doesn't help they have a somewhat agonistic and adversarial dynamic as well.

Despite that, Gadiel has an unexplainable fondness of Garrett (that annoys him a lot of the time). He will still say all his assholey shit but at the end of the day, will have Garrett's back. He just might give him an unnecessary amount of shit about it.

Gadiel is super jealous but tries to refrain from showing Garrett. Although, he is probably failing at this because he probably gets 200% more nasty when jealous or sharing Garrett's attention, evident as fuck on his face. Garrett gonna have a moody not-boyfriend lurkin in the background as he talks to anyone.

They're two peas in a pod. Gadiel swears he has more humanity than Garrett and he might but he is also so mean and cruel in his own ways, something he always calls/considers Garrett to be. He is the pot calling the kettle black 'cause he might not enjoy killing people but has zero qualms about ruining people's lives.

Badd’s cuddles are protective. A lot has happened to him in his life and he’s deathly terrified of losing you. So in the rare moments where he settles down and spends some time with you, his softer side shines through. He loves holding you tightly because it reassures him that you’re here, and you’re safe. Moments like this don’t happen often with how hectic his life is, so he tries to be as loving and caring as possible with you while he can. Lots of soft touches and kisses to remind you that he is here, and never leaving your side.

Bryne takes cuddling way less seriously than Badd. He’s a jokster through and through, and loves to be playful when cuddling. Tends to tickle you a lot because he absolutely LOVES hearing you laugh. It’s his favorite sound in the whole world! He also likes to nuzzle his face into the crook of your neck and just relax. His life is beyond stressful and loves to use any and every moment he can to spend some time with you. When he isn’t feeling his best, he always comes crawling into your arms for a nice cuddle session to improve his mood.

Sebastian is such a shy cuddler! He’s very touch starved and every form of affection you give him makes his face heat up a thousand shades of red. He likes the feeling of being held in your arms but will never say this to you; at least not for the time being. He also doesn’t ask for cuddles because he gets so embarrassed by it.. But being in your arms makes him feel secure, like nothing can hurt him. Also enjoys holding you, too, because he loves laying around and staring at your cute face. It’s a very relaxing feeling for him.

Meanwhile, Bryning is a damn control freak and loathes having people ( with the rare exception ) in the kitchen with him. Everything is where it needs to be, he knows what needs to be done, please don't touch anything.

Someone trying to wiggle into his cooking is one of the few things to make him truly irritated.

He doesn’t smoke often, as he doesn’t want to be disrespectful to others and realizes that smoking in public is frowned upon these days. And when he does, it’s only to give him comfort. The heat, the smell, the flavor — sometimes it was all he needed after a particularly bad day.

Leodegrance was tall enough he came near to passing for a giant. He was broad shouldered and powerfully built too. But there was no temper in his blue eyes. With his dark hair he seemed more like the deepest parts of the sea, full of depth and movement but always reluctant to give up it’s secrets. 

While not incapable of of affection or genuine sentiment, Leodegrance is driven by two things- one) his limitless ambition and desire to advance his family and two) the limitations brought on by having a smaller kingdom.

While outwardly Romanized and Christian Leodegrance and his family are in many ways very Celtic with their fluid approach to loyalty and guile.

Leodegrance himself was friends with Uther Pendraigg and genuinely liked him but still withdrew political support after his marriage to Igraine knowing where it would lead. Even his support of Arthur while partially based in guilt towards abandoning Uther was also motivated by his recognizing Arthur had too much popular support for his opponents to last against him.

He’s not a good father. Guinevere is easily his favorite child (and based on how I write her not unlike him in terms of how her mind works) but he’s not affectionate nor does he seek his children out. With his illegitimate children he’s more than likely to ignore them completely unless he thinks he can use them for an advantageous marriage.
