When I was younger and watched "The Emperor's New School", this was my favorite shot of the entire opening song. They are both being so playful and flirty with each other. Kuzco teasingly trying to sneak at Malina's work while she covers said work, just as equally teasing. It's just so cute.

Kuzcarnival time!

[Starter for @smartylina] "Wait, wait, wait-- go back." Matching blank looks meeting him, council members and village leaders alike chancing a glance at each other across the table at the surprise interruption. After a moment, one finally speaks up once more. "Uh, the funding--" "No! Not that, relax Motto you'll get your money-- the other thing. About the carnival?" Kuzco stands so abruptly his chair almost tips backwards on him and plants his hands on the table top, leaning forward in interest. "Oh, it's the time of year again for fundraising to begin, so the Kuzcarnival is coming back to--" That's it! The Carnival! The empty straw he's been chewing on out of boredom during the meeting falls from his mouth, and Kuzco beams as he slaps a hand down against the table and slides out from behind the table. "Meeting adjourned, or -- whatever. I've got some very important business to attend to elsewhere." He spins back around to shoot finger guns at everyone in attendance, all the while backing out of the door. "Thanks for coming, don't forget to visit the gift shop on the way out!" Then, he's gone-- completely missing the exasperated facepalms of his council members, and the confused stares of the village leaders he leaves in his wake. / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / Knock knock knock knock knock. "Come on, come on-- " He's panting, hands falling to press against his knees where he's bent over trying to catch his breath in front of the modest wooden door of Malina's hut. Ordinarily his robes are lightweight and cool-- breezy even, where it cuts off at the knees-- but today they stick to his sweaty skin, sweltering and oppressive regardless of his much he pulls at the neck of his tunic. His crown teeters dangerously atop his head the further he bends over, and Kuzco straightens just enough to keep it from falling off while he waits for an answer.

Kuzco peers at the unassuming little hut from further down the road, dutifully ignoring the confused stares, and conspiratorial whispers of passing villagers as he hides behind a llama-drawn rig-shaw filled with hay. From the looks of things, the coast appears to be clear. The front door is closed, the llamas are all grazing in the shade of a tree and there's no sign of anyone outside.

He nearly jumps out of his robes when the llama suddenly begins to move, startling him so badly that he almost trips and falls down the hill. "Sorry Emperor Kuzco!" The peasant calls out, and Kuzco glares at the back of his head as he attempts to play it off, brushing his hands against his tunic and setting off towards the hut in question.

Delicious smells linger in the air the closer he gets, the tell-tale scent of baked pastries and. . . is that Kuzcake? leading him by the nose like something out of a cartoon. He's starving by the time he finally makes it to the window, and he props himself up with a grin, excited to see his favorite hottie standing at the stove. "Aww, are you making me a Kuzcake? And it's not even my birthday." He teases, with a playful batting of his lashes.

It's eerily similar to a previous encounter they had, in this very window and over. . . a similar subject matter. Here's to hoping she'll take it better this time around, it took him a week to get all of that frosting out of his hair. "Soooooo remember that date we had planned for tonight? I'm not going."

Kuzco has the good graces to wait until she's finished putting the food out, or maybe he's just waiting so he can get a good look at everything laid out before them, to reach for the plate nearest him and snag one of the finger sandwiches sitting there so innocently without waiting for her to join him. Everything looks incredible, and now that he's staring at all of the homemade goodie, he can't believe how hungry he is. "Love it. You have truly outdone yourself, Malina. It's even better than the hobo set up thing you did when you insulted that magazine guy to his face." He teases through a mouthful of food, ever the dignified one.

"Oh, yeah-- Emperor Osker, right? I do recall a certain hottie swooning over him for winking at her in the hallway." Kuzco snarks, rolling his eyes, but the kiss more than makes up for her little quip and he's smiling by the time she admits that its for her boyfriend. All this time, and talk of them finally making her his OFFICIAL Empress, and he still isn't used to that. "Consider me spoiled. You're too good to me, you know that?" Grinning, he can't help himself but to lean in and steal a kiss of his own; this time on the lips. Now that he can do that, he can't get enough of it! "And to think, you were once worried weren't good enough for me."

Exactly. Just leave it all to her, although, if other kingdoms ask, let's just say it's a secret.

Of course, he'd love himself and all his power too, but it's nice to know he still has her laugh in his 'Kuzco's favorite things' list. It still makes her feel special. Malina stays close to him as both walk towards their destination with a soft grin in return and gets quite dizzy and her knees almost buckle thanks to his little smooch on her headband. "Y-you're right. There should be someone who needs to put our dear Emperor in his place. But hey, he must know she has done so because she loves him." She snorts and shakes her head, joking as well. "You know, Kuzco. Sounds to me like you just love having women fight for you. You just never change, do you?" He didn't hear shit! Shh! She has to agree though, their little teases and constant bullying to each other are her favorite things in the world. Malina's a girl who can dish it out and take it. What was the point in taking things personal? Especially with someone like Kuzco. One sometimes can't take everything he says seriously. Just. Sometimes. So exactly, both are amazing for each other. -------------------------- Is that, he was absolutely right! the jungle pillows are just insanely soft. it'd have been a crime not borrowing them just for a while. Malina glances at him in the corner of her eye, inwardly pleased at how amazed he seems to be with the decorations and flashes him a gentle grin, nodding her head. "Mhm! All by myself. Do you like it?" Okay, fine. Maybe she didn't do everything by herself but... he doesn't need to know that. By the time he joins her in the blanket, Malina finishes taking all the food out from the basket. She raises an eyebrow at his question and snorts. "Bold of you to think that. In fact, it was supposed to be for this other Emperor I'm seeing." She jokes, waiting a few seconds to see his reaction until she giggles and kisses him on the cheek sweetly. "Of course it's for you, silly! I decided to spoil my boyfriend a little."

When the door finally opens, it's to the sight of Kuzco's excited grin hiding behind an Yzmaween mask, which he lowers shortly after to reveal said bright grin, which widens at the sight of his favorite hottie.

"Trick or treat! Give me fudge, or I'll fill your hut with sludge!"

He orders, holding his trick or treat gourd up with his free hand for her offering.
