CANON DIVERGENCE: Contact during the One Year
I can’t remember if it’s ever explicitly stated, but it’s seriously implied that once FT disbanded, everyone went their separate ways (few in a small groups together) and had no contact with each other until the revival.
And I’m here to say....no. Fairy Tail is a guild that prides itself on it’s bonds of friendship and family, as we all know, so I don’t accept that they all cut ties easily when the guild was disbanded. They’re not going to go cold turkey on each other and be all ‘well we’re not in the same guild anymore so i dont care about u’
So, here’s a tweak. Everyone tried to stick around after the announcement, but after a few weeks, they did have to accept they couldn’t keep it up. They did begin to go their separate ways, but tried to keep in contact, which could be difficult at times before the mobile lacrimas became more available.
Levy mostly kept in contact with Jet, Droy, Lucy, Lisanna, and Wendy but did become incredibly busy with council work and become more sporadic.
Lisanna kept up with Mira and Elfman (they were together for the first couple of months and then Lisanna joined BP), and made an effort with Lucy, Levy, and Wendy especially.
Lucy initially kept in contact with Levy, Erza, Wendy, Mira, Lisanna, and Cana (potentially Juvia too, depending on portrayals and she would have tried with Gray if he hadn’t ditched).
As things often go, people get busy and conversations and messages become few and far between.
Lucy in particular did feel incredibly lonely, during the first half of the year especially, even with the bits of contact with the others. She still fell into the deep sadness as canon, feeling isolated and left behind as others moved ahead and became busy. She did pull herself out of it but it wasn’t easy.
What contact and interactions she did have helped her with her project of keeping track of everyone, which she did as a way to feel closer to them and give her a focus.

CANON DIVERGENCE: Guildmarks
Levy, Lucy, and Lisanna, along with most of their guildmates did not have the Fairy Tail guildmark on them after the guild disbanded. As per this post from my other blog, the guildmarks were removed by Makarov in his attempt to get everyone to give up on the guild and disperse.
For Lucy especially, it was difficult to not have the mark on her hand. It was always something that caught her eye and made her smile, made her feel safe and part of something, never alone. Having it gone made her all the more lonely and at times had her wondering if any of it had ever been real.
When Lisanna joined Blue Pegasus, she chose to get the BP guildmark on the opposite thigh to where her FT one had been, as she didn’t want to feel she was replacing/overwriting FT.

RP CANON: Levy - The Formation of Shadow Gear
It all started during X778, when Jet and Droy decided they wanted to form a team. Not wanting to only be a team of two boys, they wanted to ask a girl to join. Levy was the one they saw first and so they asked her. She was still quiet and unsure of herself at the time and didn’t have much faith in her being a good team member for them, but still, she felt good for being asked, even if it was simply because she was a girl. Jet and Droy encouraged her to at least try one mission with them, and so she agreed.
Jet declared himself the leader and Droy argued, their continual disagreements making the job turn into a disaster when they got to it. They were fighting a monster and kept getting in each others way. Levy could see the best solution and tried to tell them, but they didn’t listen, and she had to make it work on her own. She succeeded in stopping the monster by herself, leaving the boys in awe. Eventually they realised they should have listened to her, and they decided to nominate her as leader. She hesitated at first, but eventually accepted and over the years became highly skilled at strategies and knowing how to direct the boys and make the best use of everyone’s individual skills.
Shadow Gear came to be one of the most successful teams of the guild, reliable enough to be considered a ‘backbone’ team.
The name reflected their desire to be quick and seamless like a shadow, while working like gears that move perfectly together.

HEADCANON: Levy - Crushes
In her younger years, Levy was a girl of little confidence but big dreams. Some of those dreams and wishes involved being wanted and liked by others. She’s grown out of it now, but she used to get crushes fairly easily because of those things, often taking a liking to anyone who took an interest in her. There were a few guys in the guild she, at one point or another, had a hint of feelings for.
She had a short lived crush on Natsu when they were younger. He had seen her practice her Solid Script: Fire spell and had been excited about it, praising her magic. Having not been in the guild for all that long herself, it was one of their first proper interactions and she hadn’t even realised he actually knew who she was. The sudden attention made her a little flustered, but pleased, and after that she would often offer her Script Fire to him whenever he complained of being hungry.
She started to pay a bit more attention to him too, thinking him cute at times. But then one day...she was working on translating an ancient text, and he used her finally finished paper as a tissue as he sneezed. Needless to say, her hard work became a smoldering mess of paper flakes and any budding feelings for him shriveled up.
While she did forgive him not long after, and she maintained a friendly relationship with him, she no longer got flustered by him or had those ‘crush’ feelings.
Gray is another she liked for a little time. She was interested in learning Icebergian from him and helping him with Fiorean (he’d picked it up well in the couple of years since he had joined the guild but still wasn’t all the way there and needed help with writing too). He was a little grumpy and didn’t want to at first but they eventually taught each other the languages. It was during those times that she got to see a bit more of what he was like under his rather surly attitude and she thought he was sweet in his own way (and cute too ok). Her feelings for him ended up just fading as they drifted apart once they’d finished their learning together.
Another brief crush was on Laxus because he’s tall. It was a while after Shadow Gear had formed and they were earning a name as a top team in the guild, she was becoming more confident and a little more outgoing. Laxus had heard they had completed a particularly complex or dangerous mission and he scoffed at first, saying he didn’t believe it, which caused Levy to have a rare surge of irritation and she snapped at him. It caught him off guard to have quiet little Levy huffy at him but he gave her a little smirk and said ‘alright, maybe I believe it now’. And that’s when she got the doki doki. But it was perhaps the most short lived of them all, as his attitude as a teen was hard to put up with.
The last main crush was on Freed, who had also heard of her and Shadow Gear’s success around that time. He approached her as she was talking to someone in the guild about a theory she had on an old magic she was learning about. He overheard and remarked on it as promising, and also commended her work as a team leader. After that, she noticed him more. She’d always thought he was quite mysterious and pretty, but being intelligent and elegant too? what was not to like? She got quite interested in him, but as he didn’t come to the guild often, the feelings easily faded.
Crushes in recent years haven’t really happened, as she’s grown as a person and things have changed for her. She doesn’t currently have feelings for anyone, in Fairy Tail or otherwise and she’s not as likely to get them anymore.

CANON DIVEGENCE: Levy - Gajeel
She views him as a guildmate (even though she is no longer a member of FT) and would not enter any other kind of relationship with him (not without Serious and probably super slow burn development). He is a source of pain and frustration to her. She tires her best to put that aside and keep cool around him but even though she can mentally get her head around things, like him being ‘good’ now and all, she still has some instinctive discomfort around him, often that she doesn’t even realise.
He was quite a different person back when he attacked Shadow Gear in the war with Phantom Lord, she can acknowledge people change and she is someone who values fairness, so she was not against giving him a second chance, but that attack scarred her in many ways and is not easy to forget. He is a reminder of her own lack of physical and magical strength, her failures and shortcomings. It took months for her to get used to seeing him around the guild when he initially joined, and it was as if one of her safe places had been taken from her (which it had).
Put simply, gajevy is not canon on this blog. Most of the interactions up to the 7yr skip still stand but some things after do Not.
the mouth-to-mouth incident in Tartaros didn’t happen, she used her magic from the start.
They didn’t necessarily have a lot to do with each other during most of the one year at the council together.
The hot spring incident didn’t happen. i Refuse to subject the poor girl to that
Though she was not part of Fairy Tail when the Alvarez fighting started, she did still end up near Gajeel during his fight with Bloodman and she did see him ‘die’ (this is just default because i do like the idea of her coming in to help him, but it can be omitted depending on Gaj rpers canons). Due to her proximity to the magic barrier particles, she was incredibly sick for a while after the war and still struggles with her health now
And overall, she did not spend as much time as with Gajeel as canon Levy did, but her friendship with Pantherlily remains as they were both two of the more mature members of the guild and got along well.

HEADCANON: Levy - Headbands
Levy’s first headband was given to her by Jet and Droy after they noticed how her hair got in her way while she was reading. The two guys used some of the money from their first job together in order to buy it for her and they argued so much over who got to give the gift to her, that in the end they simply left it for her on the table she habitually sat at in the guild. The card accompanying the headband was messy and scribbled due to Jet and Droy fighting over who got to write their name first and what to say.
She still has both the headband and the card, they are among her most prized possessions.
After particularly difficult or memorable jobs, Jet and Droy would help Levy pick out a new headband to commemorate completing the job. She has quite the collection of them and other hair accessories, which she also loves due to the way they can distract from her somewhat wild hair (which she can get a bit self conscious about it). Jet and Droy would also use headbands/headscarfs that matched Levy’s and they would tie them onto their clothes somewhere, it was something she had suggested and they loved it.
