i think it's important to note this for my blog, because the colors i use for my character's dialogue doesn't always match their color palette (usually when it does, it's either accidental, or because i couldn't easily slot them into one of these). but i have a system of categorization with my muses, and why some "orange coded" canon muses (e.g. wolfwood) have green dialogue or "red coded" ocs (e.g. arverni) have blue dialogue.

RED TINTED DIALOGUE is for powerful muses who aren't afraid to show it, but this is often because they end up feeling no need to show it. these are the muses to be wary of, but they tend to not be immediately hostile, regardless of their alignment or possible goals.

ORANGE TINTED DIALOGUE is for muses who find themselves stuck in the past, or otherwise find themselves "Trapped" in some manner. these can range anywhere from a muse who views themselves as a chained threat to society (e.g. luka [red-orange]), to muses who believe themselves ghosts, haunting their body more than they are truly living (e.g. aryin).

GREEN TINTED DIALOGUE is for muses who are truly kind past their exterior (be it harshly deceptive or falsely cheery), those muses who can't help but be kind in their own special way, even if it's not readily accepted, because they're a specific kind of taste for people to get a grasp on.

BLUE TINTED DIALOGUE is for muses who earned their freedom, but at a cost - or otherwise are fighting for a freedom through trial and tribulation; this is the dialogue color associated with freedom, as blue skies are considered good luck and fair weather for travelling someplace new.

YELLOW TINTED DIALOGUE is for muses who follow their word to a T, the loyal, the direct, the ones who you can count on to say what's needed and not what's wanted. these are often the muses who could find themselves in impossible situations and still manage to come out on top through just doing what they always do.

PINK TINTED DIALOGUE is for muses who are often hiding behind a front of some kind, pretending, not showing all of themselves. these characters often feel like they can't truly be themselves around people, no matter the reassurance, and often end up having one person to a few people who are close enough to see the real version of them.

PURPLE TINTED DIALOGUE is for muses that are burdened with some sort of "crown" - as they say, heavy is the heart that wears the crown. that's how that goes, right? anyway. purple is associated with the grief of making decisions no person should ever have to make, and being haunted by them.

CHANGING COLOR DIALOGUE is for muses who are untrustworthy, the cowards and thieves and liars, the BETRAYERS and the MANIPULATORS. they never show their truth, and if they do, you likely won't make it out alive.

DUAL COLOR/OFF COLOR DIALOGUE is for muses for fall into multiple categories, such as one of my muse's having a dark green-based teal, mixing a sort of deep forest green with a seaside cerulean color.

the effort i put into my games is immense but it does make it a lot more intriguing for my players when they're able to do cool shit the way i plan for it to go.

y'know i've been asked by some old irl friends of mine that caught up with me recently who also got into some of the stuff i like ( like trigun and kh and some other stuff ) if i'd ever pick up the stubborn hopefuls. and like. eh. i don't choose my characters. that's the thing about my writing. my characters aren't tailored like a suit to fit my needs. i meet them like people on the street, meet them like passing by in a dream, like gifts from the gods, like accidental moments that turn into lasting friendships. happy accidents and little jokes, turned into forevers and memories i can't forget. every character i have i've had since i made a friend or joined a fandom or connected with an idea. like the recent ones: wolfwood and legato. '98 wolfwood ( oh you know. ) is himself. and legato is such a fascinating ideologist for me, being human and yet shunning humanity for [ oh you know ]. who knows who else i'll pick up. but for that reason, i don't think i'll bump into vash or millie on my strolls. they might knock on the door to my "mental space" to come pick up their friends/loves, but past that? they're not for me.
