( zuri reed , twenty8 , cis woman , she/her ) ⎮ would ya look who it is , haliyah moore in the flesh ! dude , i heard they were a dj for kiss 89.5 at that place across town . yeah , no , they’re the one that’s really gutsy and warm-hearted but my buddy said they’re super uncompromising and a bit excessive too . i wonder what they’re doing over here though ? c'mon let’s go back to my place and i can show you their myspace profile , it autoplays this must be the place (naive melody) by talking heads when it boots up , it’s great . ⎮
full name: haliyah corinne moore nicknames: hali, yaya birthday: august 16th (28 years old, leo) hometown: columbus, ohio gender and sexuality: cis, bisexual woman education: bachelor's in communications from nyu occupation: radio dj for kiss 89.5 pets: moose (shih tzu mix rescue, 3 years old) favorite hobbies: autumn roadtrips to watch drive-in movie double features, keeping up with her favorite soap operas daily, playing dungeons & dragons, volunteering at the public library to spread wholesome chaos, reading tea leaves and tarot cards, sliding on her socks on hardwood floors
about
haliyah moore (hali to her loved ones) grew up in the suburbs of columbus, ohio wishing she was in new york city. like most little kids, she dreamed of wearing a feather boa down fifth avenue in defiance of the fashion elite and living in a park-view apartment with her best friend where they could complain about the horror of modern dating. what do you mean, that wasn’t most little kids? alright, it wouldn’t exactly be the last time hali wasn’t like most kids.
with dreams of new york like hali’s, columbus was a small pond in comparison. she was the free spirit, the dreamer, the rebel; the kind of person who got bored of following the rules and started playing by her own rules instead. her mothers were both biologists who studied at nyu and hali’s twin sister was the future valedictorian, so it only made sense that hali took a hard left into the absurd. she was the court jester of her high school’s theatre department, speech & debate team, and its worst garage grunge band (not to mention the band’s guitarist).
when hali and her sister graduated, her sister had a full-ride scholarship and a summer internship lined up, and hali had a buttercup yellow 1970 convertible beetle and a dream. that dream: spend the three months she had until new york road-tripping through the continental us. every corner, every nook and cranny, haliyah wanted to explore it. bars she had to sneak into, tires she had to change on the side of the freeway in the middle of nowhere, the tears she cried when she broke her arm in texas and realized she was on her own; she cherished every moment.
by the time hali finally reached new york, even with the most summer behind her, it was clear that this was still the beginning of something new and terrifying and enchanting. and she was positively enchanted by new york. nyu and a whole host of student loans took her in with open arms. it quickly introduced her to improv comedy, late-night college public radio, jungle juice, and college boys, and the rest was history. her senior year heralded in her first real adult relationship and her most important decision to date: accepting an internship at a dinky little radio station in brooklyn.
six years later, she’s only had to hop between three stations, most recently landing at kiss 89.5 in columbus circle. it’s been three years at the station and she’s finally got a decent timeslot, but she’s never stopped dreaming of being the dj on all the billboards; the one everyone tunes in for rather than just her die-hard fans and the mildly interested listeners who didn’t really care whose voice they heard. something inside her keeps on believing that if she could just get the rest of her life together, she could really have it all someday.
for now, awful blind dates, drunken trips to see her local bodega cat at two in the morning, and the constant search for a new manicurist after spilling too many of her secrets again will just have to do.
connection ideas
the neighbor next door she borrows sugar from and almost certainly has a crush on
the ride or die bestie who keeps her sane in the city and knows her coffee order by heart (and vice versa)
the listener who doesn't realize hali is the voice coming out of their radio
the bartender who has seen her at her most and least charming
the found family that makes her feel whole and seen in the chaos of the city
the meet-cute she keeps running into and having three quarters of a rom-com interaction with
the blast from the past that knew her in ohio
the college sweetheart - or maybe just roommate? - from nyu (she attended between '93 and '97)

꒰⠀⠀⠀⠀brianne tju. twenty-five. non-binary. they/them.⠀⠀⠀⠀꒱ hold your f*** horses ! delaney lu has just been spotted walking into revolution headquarters. they are best known for being the drummer in kalopsia and have been signed with the label for two years. they share a lot of interesting things about life in the music industry on their social media, so make sure you don’t forget to follow them at @laneboylu. fans know them for being goofy but i swear they’ve got a tenderhearted side as well. maybe that explains why they’re always associated with winning prizes twice their size playing carnival games, lazy smiles in a haze of heady smoke, & finally falling asleep while the rest of the city wakes up. stan twitter even voted them most likely to get taco bell with fans after a show. we’ll see how they live up to that reputation.
full name: delaney xin lu
gender & pronouns: non-binary & them/them
sexuality: pansexual, panromantic
date of birth: april 1st, 1997 (25 years old)
zodiac: aries sun, leo moon, taurus rising
hometown: san francisco, california
occupation: drummer in kalopsia
positive traits: tenderhearted, curious, resilient, affectionate
negative traits: goofy, immature, dopey, half-baked
[ learning disabilities tw, drugs references tw throughout bio & wc ]
delaney lu – where to begin? the second child of the incomparable mei lu, star of the stage and screen. okay, star of one soap opera that lasted five years in the late '80s - early '90s. in reality, a good actress who decided she hated los angeles and moved back home to san francisco when the show imploded and abruptly ended. soap opera tapings were replaced with leading roles in eccentric local productions and one-of-a-kind one woman shows in historic bay area theatres.
perhaps even more than she committed herself to the stage, mei committed herself to motherhood. she supplied her children with her own surname rather than their fathers' and made it crystal clear that half-siblings were siblings just the same as any other. there was never a doubt in anyone’s mind. their three fathers were never in the picture, but it left mei to run the most camp, free-spirited, and ridiculous household a kid could ask for.
each of the siblings had their own specialty interests (obsessions) and expertise, and delaney's was clear from day one : everything music and making a whole lot of noise. delaney's homemade drumkits went a lot further than pots and pans, but the dream was an actual drum set. it's no wonder they hardly cared about anything else after they got their first real kit. from that day on, they were a neighbor's worst nightmare. and proud of it.
laney's unconventional childhood made them the odd duck out in plenty of life's many facets, but it also taught them to love playing the role of the clown; the fool. book smarts weren't exactly their forte, but high school was good for plenty of other adventures. san francisco was wide and wonderful, and by the time they graduated, they knew the city better than they knew themself. as beautiful as it was, it no longer felt like exploring, and that left delaney with a little bit of an empty feeling.
college was never going to be an option for laney, who insisted their hatred of school was fueled by their disdain for the man rather than their frustration with their learning disabilities. besides, who needs higher education when they've already found their calling? fate brought them to the other members of kalopsia and laney never thought about missing out on college again. since then, they've been living their first and only dream - living for the music. there's a laundry list of things they miss about home, but if the truth is simple:
there isn't anything in the world they would trade this life for.
in search of...
the chaos twin: a fellow connoisseur of mischief and anarchy for laney to hatch up insanely dork plans and wild but (mostly) wholesome pranks. a pinch of munchies, a dash of bong rips, and splash of bill and ted create the ultimate partners in crime. a desire to eat popcorn while drama goes down (figurative or literal) is a plus.
opposites attract: an unlikely pair made up of delaney and a much more serious artist (or simply person) in desperate needs of a little letting loose. they probably have a lot more to lose than delaney does, but they still slum it and trip with laney anyway. acid, mushrooms, the strongest weed you've ever smoked... another one of laney's specialties.
strangers in each other's dms: they followed each other on instagram without listening to each other's music or realizing they were in cahoots with the same label. there have been conversations back and forth and a lot of likes mere minutes after posting to their feeds or stories. if anyone expects laney to be graceful about it, they've got bad news coming their way.
an accidental enemy: the road is a crazy place ! people are constantly coming and going from delaney's life, it's impossible to please all of them. that being said, they could've tried a little bit harder with this person. instead, laney managed to piss them off straight to hatred (real or otherwise). but hey, what are the chances they would meet again? whoops ! clearly, higher than they anticipated.
anything under the sun ! : beloved old friends, bitter old friends, parental figures, sibling-like friendships, family friends, tarot reading friends, a "will they, won't they", adrenaline junkie buddies, smoking buddies, one night stands, someone teaching them to cook, someone they're teaching the drums to, and anything else that sounds good !

full name: Simone Isla Dawson (she/her)
nicknames: Sim, Dawson's Creek
birthday: October 10th, 1993 (29 years old, Libra)
hometown: Providence Peak, Colorado
neighborhood: Downtown
gender and sexuality: Cis, bisexual woman
education: Bachelor's in Secondary Education / Theatre from NYU
occupation: Drama teacher at the local high school
dependents: Haliyah Dawson (younger sister, 19 years old)
pets: Kirby (Shih Tzu mix rescue)
hobbies: Binging old reality shows all at once but keeping up with soap operas every day, open mic nights bc she doesn't really get to perform anymore, really any group activity (sip & paint, axe throwing, 5k bubble runs, house parties), reading tea leaves and tarot cards, drunken online shopping, sliding on her socks on hardwood floors.
aesthetics: Eating cake batter right off the whisk, clothes that could've been taken straight from Stevie Nicks' closet, the loudest cheer and best toast in the room, flecks of dried paint on soft hands, maximalism as a way of life, handwritten notes attached to baked goods made with love.
tldr; Theatre kid from Providence Peak goes to college in New York, moves back to town to be her old high school's new drama teacher and takes in her younger sister. Six years later, things have calmed down a little bit but now she's got new problems – problems like finding love, reuniting with her parents, and finding what makes her happy. C'est la vie!
(tw: panic attack mention)
Our Simone grew up right in Providence Peak; the daughter of two professors who taught at the local college for most of her life. They were open-minded and encouraging, but both regularly put their careers and studies above their children. Simone's younger sister Haliyah was a happy accident that came about when Simone was ten years old, and they were inseparable from day one. Simone was the spirited theatre kid constantly told she had a future in “the biz” and Haliyah was the piano prodigy their parents showed off at dinner parties. Ten years between them had never mattered for a moment. They bonded over music and the pressure of their parents' expectations, but around the time Haliyah hit her pre-teens, Simone could tell the pressure was already harder on her younger sister than it was on her.
Leaving for college (read: leaving her sister to fend for herself with their parents) weighed on Simone, but when she was pulled off of the waitlist and accepted to her dream college, no one (even herself) would let her pass up the opportunity. New York City felt like it was on a whole other planet, but she acclimated to the unknown environment in no time. Just like in high school, Simone was equal parts exuberant and helpful, and stole the hearts of plenty of co-eds and theatre audiences alike. For the first two years of college, she studied performance and had the stars in her eyes, sure she would make it on Broadway or the silver screen. It took those two years for her to figure out that she wanted to teach, not subject herself to the harsh industry her parents had always dreamed of for her. And it was a trip home to Providence Peak High's drama program that made her realize it.
The old drama teacher from Simone’s own high school days, easily her favorite teacher, was still working at the school and became her mentor after that fateful trip. Then, after her college graduation, she had a choice to make: accept a high paying job near the college she attended in New York or take a teaching assistant job in Providence Peak with the hopes of someday becoming the teacher herself. The decision was immediately made in her heart, which belonged in Providence Peak, but when her father was offered his dream job as president of his alma mater in Ohio, the issue became vastly more complicated. Her baby sister Haliyah begged her to take the job in Providence Peak so she wouldn't have to move to Ohio with their parents. A summer of arguing with their parents later, Simone and Haliyah moved into an apartment of their own downtown and waved goodbye to their parents' moving truck.
It's been six years since Simone moved back to Providence Peak, and six years of raising a teenager on her own; much harder and altogether more exhausting than she could've anticipated, and worth every minute. After five semesters (two and a half years) as her mentor's teaching assistant and one semester as their emergency substitute after a broken hip, Simone was offered the drama teacher position permanently. The drama classroom became Dawson's Creek, christened by a banner painted above the door, and Simone became Sim – the cool, young drama teacher who had pride flags in her room and knew how to take care of a kid's panic attacks without embarrassing them. If all she can do is create the safe space she always knew the drama department to be, then she reckons that's more than good enough. Now if she could just add a stable relationship, and to the equation, she’d really have it made.
♡
wanted plots
The Bartender Bestie – Being a teacher or a parental figure would be hard enough, but being both is a struggle. Simone has a couple of favorite haunts in town and absolutely has a favorite bartender - a true sight for sore eyes after a long day.
The High School Sweetheart – Simone grew up in Providence Peak and left right after high school, though she did return right after graduating college. There’s nothing quite like first loves, especially in a place like Providence Peak.
The Found Family – The relationship Simone has with her first family, as she calls them, is complicated and still unraveling. The family still in Providence Peak is made up of her sister, her best friends, the people she feels safest around, and the people she works hardest to keep safe. All people are welcome in this family!
The Self-Care Spa Day Squad – Decidedly not a "girl squad", but instead a trio / quartet / quintet of people that regularly get blasted at brunch together, plan long weekends in wine country, and are regulars at the nail salon.
The Parent Teacher Conference – The classic “I met you at your kid's parent teacher conference and see you on field trips & dances we both chaperone plus sometimes the coffee shop”. Whether it’s just a vibe that adds a little spice to the day or something with potential, it’s like living in a rom-com a couple of minutes a day.

victoria justice. cis woman. she/her. ━━ there goes aurelia cortes leaving their home in seagate district. the twenty-nine year old from austin, texas works as a party planner & entrepreneur. i’ve heard that they are exuberant & generous but can also be chaotic & unrealistic. they remind me of the cheer that accompanies a toast in a crowded bar & buying your favorite flowers for yourself as a form of self care.
hi - diddly - do, neighborinos ! your friendly neighborhood maeby (26, they/she, mst) coming in hot and so stoked to be here ♡ i’m bringing my wildest, best time - iest lil pea, aurelia ! so without further ado…
STATS
given name: aurelia ruth cortes nicknames: aureli, reli, lia zodiac: sagittarius sun, libra moon, aries rising identifies as: bisexual, biromantic cis woman favorites: sunset color palettes, extra sweet palomas, metallic letter & number balloons, wheatgrass shots and smoothies loaded with unnecessary boosters to cure hangovers, disco naps, the spot, mama cass elliot, vintage shops & 70s aesthetics hobbies: picturesque nature hikes, karaoke nights, fulfilling the wildcard category on her trivia team, drunken online shopping, throwing the most extravagant birthday parties for her friends, harmless flirting, axe throwing and rage rooms, bartending at other peoples' parties, getting impulse tattoos at lucky four
BIOGRAPHY
(tw: childhood cancer, hospitalization)
No one knows or loves a good time like the Cortes family. Even when it was just the Cortes parents, Mateo and Linda-Mae, before they were parents, every dwelling they occupied was the life of the neighborhood. Aurelia was born in ‘93, followed by her sister Marisol in ‘95, and the party just kept going. Things were hard outside their four cozy walls – heck, they owned a barbecue stand and catering company, two of the most risky business ventures an entrepreneur can undergo. But they never let it impact their life at home.
Then Marisol got sick. The sweetest kid in the entire world, and there wasn’t anything Aurelia could do but watch from the sidelines. One day, something just clicked inside her. She brought all two dozen of her Barbies and GI Joes to Marisol’s hospital bed, and put on the musical theatre production of a lifetime. No longer would she sit idly by and let her sister go through it alone. Aurelia was a clown, a comedian, an entertainer, a storyteller, and anything else she could think of to get a laugh out of her.
Even after Marisol went into remission in ‘07 and Aurelia’s life became more about herself than her sister, she hung onto that deeply extra personality. After spending the majority of the last four years cooped up, she overcorrected and went full speed ahead into a wild phase she never grew out of. At first it was just sneaking out of the house, sneaking into concerts, sneaking a cheeky klepto treasure every now and then, but as she grew older, the petty rebellions just weren’t enough. It had never been about rebelling against her parents and had always been about making the most out of every moment she was lucky enough to have.
College opened all new kinds of doors for our adrenaline junkie, and when she got into UCLA, it seemed she was destined for a truly legendary four years. The prophecy was fulfilled and she left college with a degree (somehow, she’s still not sure), four years worth of insane memories, and all the skills and experience necessary to start planning genuinely extravagant parties in the city. After planning one of her friends’ wedding with the help of her college best friend, a Mellott Beach native who introduced her to the town, she was sure there wasn’t any party they couldn’t handle.
Now, seven years later, business is booming and Aurelia is still in love with the thrill of the hustle. Don’t get her wrong, Aurelia still finds time to spend holidays with family, take vacations with friends, and devote a lavish amount of time to self-care. But after going going going for so long, the hustle was starting to take its toll. Moving to Mellott Beach was a much needed change of pace. The drive to the city was still doable (an hour commute is nothing in Los Angeles), but relaxing her shoulders and just being able to breathe made the burnout that had once been inevitable drift further and further away.
Turn’s out, there’s more than enough adventure in Mellott Beach to keep Aurelia on her toes. And that’s what she calls the best of both worlds.
CONNECTION IDEAS
employees & regulars at the spot, the hanger, or the corner; aureli's favorite hangouts ♡

bienvenidos to my intro, cutie patooties! i’m mars (she/they/any) and i can’t wait to plot & write with everyone here! it’s been a very hot sec since i’ve been in a group, but i am for sure already falling in love with all of your characters. without further ado, will you please welcome to the stage... jiya!
BASICS
full name: jiya farah dhawan
gender: cis woman
pronouns: she / her
sexuality: bisexual
age: twenty - one
birthday: march 4th, 2001
zodiac: pisces sun, cancer moon, leo rising
hometown: sunset hills, ca
residence: midnight park
major: illustration & animation
tldr; jiya is the only child of two s.h.u. professors and has always loved the school, but 0% knows what she’s going to do after she graduates. you’ll never meet anyone with more school spirit than her. she’s just stoked to be here, guys. continually doing double duty as the friend group’s weirdo and mom friend.
AESTHETICS
the roar of good friends when the lights flick on at a surprise party, cherry blossom petals fluttering through the spring breeze, the buzz of getting too excited about something nobody else cares about, a slice of perfect lemon cake paired with a perfect cup of chai, giggles that turn into snorts halfway through, loudly singing a well-loved song around a crowded campfire, first kisses with red noses in gently falling snow
BIOGRAPHY
jiya was born on march 4th (”the only day of the year that’s a complete sentence!”), 2001 at 3pm, gracing dr. tanvi patel and dr. imraan dhawan with their first and only child. both drs. were – and still are – proudly professors at sunset hills university, home of the manta rays. go rays!
growing up under two academics – her mother in agricultural studies specializing in sustainability and her father in world literature with a focus in poetry – was a challenge. a challenge jiya accepted with the same determination with which she lived her entire life.
there were plenty of good things to combat the stress of her parents’ expectations for her academic success. dressing up for their university dinner parties, where they had brilliant conversations unlike anything else she’d ever seen; where everyone begged her to follow her dreams.
at the end of the day, that was the thing she took from her parents and their friends most seriously. they had all achieved so many of their dreams, what could possibly hold jiya back from doing the same? that ambition lit a fire under her that couldn’t be put out.
it didn’t matter what happened. through her first breakups, bad news from her family, hard times at school, she never stopped going going going. art club, soccer, drama, piano lessons, summer camp... if there was something she wanted, she went for it.
despite how much of her life revolved around it (or maybe because of it), going to s.h.u. was the thing jiya worked hardest for. there was no way she was letting anyone think she got in because of her parents (even though she almost certainly did). all she wanted was to be a manta ray.
to absolutely no one’s surprise, jiya was the most enthusiastic freshman s.h.u. had seen in... maybe ever. no matter the sport being played, the play being put on, or the boredom at risk from going, jiya would be there with bells on; literal bells.
she generally lives by the motto “my studies can wait, what’s going on tonight?” it might not be her parents’ favorite philosophy, but she does have the record for most games attended by a single student and they are proud of that achievement.
now that she’s more than halfway through her degree, people are starting to ask what she has planned for afterward. unrelated, she’s starting to realize she’s going to have to figure out who she wants to be outside of her love of sunset hills. or what she wants to do. pixar, maybe? illustrating children’s books, maybe? animating her own show, maybe? how are people supposed to figure this stuff out?
PERSONALITY
jiya is absolutely the self - appointed spirit master of sunset hills. she shows up to every game (for every sport) she can, completely decked out in face paint, pom-poms, and an outfit sure to inspire any manta ray to feel that good school pride. she may have a love / hate relationship with the person in the school mascot costume for unknown and probably stupid entirely justifiable reasons.
she is maximalist to the core and could not handle minimalism if she was paid to. everything in her room is done up to the nines with endless color, texture, lights, ambient white noise; the whole lot. her dorm looks like a macramé arts and crafts class blew up inside.
one thing jiya doesn’t take well is rejection. the last time she was broken up with, she threw all of the clothes her ex had left at her place out the window and announced it was “the defenestration of sunset hills”. she really is such a sweet girl, but that fear of rejection runs deep.
WANTED
roommate – babe is living in midnight park and i would love for her to have a roommate! she is probably the best and worst roommate you’ll ever have. there are baked goods and dumb jokes and themed drinking game movie nights... and 4am dance breaks when she’s procrastinated an important essay and has to finish by 8am.
study buddies – speaking of baked goods and essays! jiya definitely organized a study group her freshman year and still brings them muffins every wednesday for their standing study date. and it’s not at all because i love community or legally blonde. nope.
trivia team – a classic group of friends who show up to their favorite bar for trivia night every week. are they really just there for the bar snacks, drinks, and company? almost definitely. do they still take things a little too seriously and get overly competitive? ...also almost definitely.

high school sweetheart – jiya grew up in sunset hills and there’s no doubt in my mind she had a very sweet high school romance. she definitely would’ve been the cheerleader type that (unsurprisingly) showed up to all of their games or band’s practices or academic decathlons.

💥💥💥 [ adele! ]
Send 💥 for a headcanon I’ve always wanted to talk about, but haven’t had the chance to yet.
Adele has undiagnosed Histrionic Personality Disorder (HPD). The manor is actually well aware of her mental health concerns, but purposely have chosen to ignore it in her case and not tell her. The reason being is that her disorder is beneficial for the program she is enrolled with at the manor. The widow progress is specific to the femme fatale stereotype; using beautiful women and training them to fight and steal information. A Histrionic diagnosis is helpful in this program because she is instinctively overtly-sexual, attention-seeking, prideful and highly manipulative. The manor has tailored her training to bring out more of these factors and less of the negative ones. The negative being that she often gets carried away in work assignments and mistakes simple attention for attraction. She often gets into fleeting, toxic relationships and has difficulty staying monogamous as she will be with whoever give her the most attention. Adele has been used for these traits by members (Silas in particular) who use their power to persuade to do certain things. It is easy to see how this can make things complicated due to her misunderstanding of when she is being used and when she is being loved. Hopefully, one day, she would be willing to hear about her short-comings and learn how to address how to properly deal with her mental health status.
Adele ranks number one in her language skills as she is fluent in over six languages: Spanish, English, Italian, Russian, Madarian, French. She was highly adept in learning to communicate in multiple languages. Driven by the notion of wanting to not limit her availability of partners, she tasked herself with becoming fluent in as many languages as possible. The Manor, being interested in expanding the information they could gather, encouraged her to learn to her heart’s content. Adele has the ability to read, write, and speak in the six languages above. She has currently learning Japanese and Korean, but has unable to focus due to her volume of work. Though she regularly will translate documents and information for the Manor when needed.
Adele’s profession outside of the manor is a professional make-shift partner. This is a bit nuanced, but she likes to be in the company of people. Her talent of being able to blend herself and disguise herself when needed. When not swamped with work, she is hired for people of all background to be whatever they need her to be. Sometimes she’s an ex-wife/girlfriend, a cousin, a sister, a girlfriend, a wife, a daughter, an assistant and whatever people may need. It is like an acting gig except more personalized for a specific events, meetings, and personal endeavors. She finds it fun and often prefers it over working for the manor.

𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕
a short drabble detailing the maverick and avaleigh's rehersal dinner, and how this event was the beginning of the end
For the first time in what seemed like ages, there was happiness abound in the Wellington Manor. The first generation had officially graduated their programs. Not only that, but two of the top students, Maverick and Avaleigh, were officially allowed to marry. The pair had been together for as long as anyone could remember; their budding relationship starting at the early ages of elementary school. Maverick could remember that even in his youth, he was drawn to the presence of Avaleigh. There was something about her heart. She wasn't born with the cruel nature that most of the children found themselves torn between; even himself. It was the hope buried deep within her. The love that she felt for the other than managed to make the horrors of the manor not sink as deep. They had managed to create their own little world inside of the dark abyss. It was impossible for the others not to notice it. The others couldn't help but envy that grew inside of them at the thought that they would never find a deep love like the saw in the current pair. However, no one's jealousy burned brighter than Everleigh's.
Everleigh loved Maverick the minute she had set her eyes on him. He wasn't like the other boys in the class who cowered in fear in her presence. The male was impervious to her cold stares and wicked behavior. He didn't fear her in the way most would. Even her parents were frightened by the coldness of their eldest daughter. It was partially the reason why they designed the manor in the first place; a legal and physical reason to disown her so that the girl could be the hired helps problem. Her mind and behaviors were dangerous to most people. The worst part is that it managed to convince her that Maverick viewed her as an equal. An equal that must be her lover. Only soulmates were equals to one another. Maverick was the only person she could tolerate so he must be a part of her in some way, considering her only comfortable company was herself if she decided to lie. It was impossible for their relationship to not translate into love. It was in he psychotic nature to misinterrupt Maverick's internal sense of disgust towards her immorality as love. It was the same psychotic nature that convinced her that Maverick didn't love Avaleigh; it was just a manor marriage.
With the celebration in full swing, drinks were abound and there seemed to be genuine laughs that spread across the nearing lake. It was a good time, for everyone except for the ginger. She was burning inside and out. Her anger had her red enough that people assumed that she had a bad case of sunburn. Maverick felt her beaming daggers from across the room. It was impossible to miss the feeling on the back of his head. Everleigh sat with her arms crossed at the table, fuming, while she wished that he was dancing with her instead. Maverick never seemed to catch onto her lust towards him (it was partially why the rouse lasted as long as it did)). He figured that she was upset that he was the first to marry in the manor. Being the leader, most assumed Everleigh would have a suitor much like everyone else. Silas even had a fiance at the time. The red head happened to be the only member of generation one without an engagement. There wasn't even a potential suitor outside of the Manor either. It was a silence rule to not speak up about it. Most were afraid of Everleigh lashing out in some way. Maverick didn't really follow that rule. He was the only person she felt comfortable talking to about it. After a few dances with his lover, he figured it would be best for him to try and make her feel better.
Maverick subtly notioned her to follow him with a simple headnod while they escaped to sit on the edge of the dock by the lake. He kicked his feet for a bit before he spoke,❝ It's a lot right? Tomorrow shouldn't be too bad. If it makes you feel any better, you can skip the ceremony and just come to the dinner.❞
His voice was smooth. Tomorrow was the moment that he was looking forward to his entire life. It was the one step that he could make towards his dreams. He hoped to build a life outside of this orphange he called home, and build his own life. Avaleigh and Maverick were already planning on having children right away. They had dating long enough to pass the point of waiting. He wanted move on with his life. He didn't want to be tied to the Manor forever. This marriage was a part of their escape.
❝ You know I have to go, Mav. I'll get in trouble if I don't... ❞
❝I figured that you always manage to get your way around here or you make one. I'm sure you can figure out a way to sneak out and back in. ❞
❝I can't just skip my best friend's wedding—— ❞
He couldn't help but abruptly cut her off. There was a tinge of confusion in his voice, still airing on the side of caution,❝ I'm your best friend? ❞
Everleigh instantly felt her cheeks flush before timidly responding,❝ What else are we supposed to be? ❞
Nothing. He thought. Nothing at all.
The thought of anyone considering them friends almost made him sick. He wanted nothing more than to be seen as aquintances. Business partners would be the more appropriate title, but friends? He didn't hold her in any regard of a relationship. Friendships meant there was an inherent trust. The person wouldn't break your boundaries or intentionally hurt you. No one trusted Everleigh; she was a loaded die. Guessing her response or reaction to anything was a deadly match of Russian Roulette.
Luckily for him, Everleigh didn't catch the fact that he didn't seem to respond positively. She busy focusing on the water in a drunken haze. Anything to rid her of the negative emotions she had towards him.
The moon happened to glow a cool warmth on the pair just as she suggested, ❝ I can call off the wedding, you know... If you want me to? You don't have to be forced to marry her. I'm sure they could find another bride for you. ❞
Maverick couldn't help but instantly get cotton mouth. He couldn't tell if this was a kind gesture of hers or a veiled threat of some sort. Maybe she legitimately believed this was a manor arranged marriage? It partially was, but Maverick and Avaleigh were dating for years up to this point. Everyone knew they were going to get married which is why they used them to establish the marriage program. It was a win-win for all parties. The only person who happened to not get the memo that this was an arranged marriage made in love was Everleigh.
He managed to clear his throat before shaking his head. Looking away as the light of the moon seemed too bright to be natural. Maybe it was his internal emotions that reflected his dread upon her through the moonlight. ❝ No need to... I actually want to marry her. ❞
If a person was quiet enough, a person could hear Everleigh's heart snap in that moment. How could he want to marry someone who he was set up to marry? How could he not love her instead?
❝ Why? ❞
There were a lot of questions that came to his mind at her simple retort herself. When has she ever been this interested in his love life or relationships in general? First, she calls him her best friend and, then, she threatens to cancel his wedding. He couldn't understand why she would suddenly choose now to reveal this information to him. It was unusual for a woman as calculated as Everleigh to be this... sloppy.
❝ Why wouldn't I want to? ❞
was the only response Maverick could come up to without going into the details about what he loved about Avaleigh. He didn't want to spill his guts only to end up dead at the bottom of the lake.
Now Everleigh was stumped. For years, the ginger had tried to figure out what it was that made Maverick so interested in Avaleigh. She tried everything. Dressing like her. Mimicking her actions. Hell, she even dyed her hair brown for a brief stint to prove that he wasn't discriminating against her for her red hair. She couldn't make up for the one thing that Ava had, she couldn't pretend to have a heart. Everleigh was a true psychopath. She couldn't love Maverick in a healthy way. Her definition of feeling loved by him was his polite rejection of her. It was obsession. She didn't know how to love a person nor, did she have any common interest with Maverick in anyway. She had no desire to leave the manor and start a family like he did. The manor was her kingdom. All she wanted to do was usurp the throne from her parent's hold and reign. Everleigh wanted to dominate. Not just all the people at the manor, but the world. It was only fair that a woman of her prowess teach the world how to act, think and behave.
It was in this moment that she decided her next steps. If she could've have Maverick, no one can. She was willing to wait and play the long game. She'd let him have his moment of happiness. Something to hold onto before she would begin to strip him away. Chip away at every single point of anger and frustration until his whole world would fall apart. And when he was at his lowest point, she would be there to save him.
Embracing the cool warmth of the moon was the catalyst to Everleigh's impending madness.
This moment was just the beginning of the end.

💥💥💥 [ catalina! ]
Send 💥 for a headcanon I’ve always wanted to talk about, but haven’t had the chance to yet.
Catalina is one the only high-ranking member of the Wellington Manor without a familial tie. Her lineage hails from Cuba; her family was, at one point, one of the biggest crime syndicates with ties to the government. In the Manor’s attempts to shift the global market, her family was on the list. It wasn’t much of a concern to her parents until the news spread about the orphaned children of crime dynasties began disappear. Catalina was their last surviving child (that they knew about) and they were willing to do anything to protect her. Unfortunately, they were ambushed by a mole in their own ranks and Catalina was there to witness the event at the young age of five. Despite her trauma from moments before, she managed to memorize every location that was tied to her family. The memory stayed with her long enough to eventually reconnect with her maternal grandmother nearly twenty years later. It was that meeting that she learned the truth that the manor had hidden from its members. The truth about it’s inception, which sparked Catalina to search for answers and work towards her decade long goal to bring down the manor.
Catalina has a verity of hobbies, but one she enjoys most is playing poker. Most people assume that she isn’t into gambling, but she was the one who brought Manuel to the gambling business herself. She is a bit of a thrill seeker and poker is the easiest way to get a hit without getting herself in trouble. She learned a lot about psychology, people’s tells and business by playing the game. Catalina would admit that she learned more about getting over on people from poker than she did through the Manor’s program. Before she was married, she would often take missions from the Manor on the West Coast to be close to Vegas. She is a real night owl and truly thrives in late-night/early-morning thrill seeking.
Catalina doesn’t work on Thursdays, ever. One of the stipulations for getting married was to have more flexibility in working for the Manor. She can choose when she works but she has a minimum of doing two missions a month. She usually does around four as a favor and balances that in between keeping up with Manuel’s estate. However, every Thursday she has off from both Manuel and the Manor’s things. She often uses this time to go out and party though she tries to do that every night. It is her way to take the edge off and escape. She actually owns a few night clubs herself, but she travels anywhere there is to party because she loves to dance. Thursday’s is often when she sneaks out to entertain her various flings as well. It’s the only day she isn’t being carefully monitored by either parties which gives her the freedom to live a bit.
( BONUS HEADCANON ): Sometimes Manuel will occasionally go to the club to watch Catalina dance with other men. It is an interesting dynamic since Manuel doesn’t like the idea of Cat being with someone else, but he likes to see people want her. There is a sense of power knowing that he has a partner that a lot of men desire. He always lets her know beforehand and sits in his special booth that oversees the entire club. There are a few rules that are followed; the first one being that it is in one of their clubs. It’s more for privacy purposes than blackmail. The second is that it is allowed to be really handsy. Surprisingly, the inappropriate touching doesn’t bother him as long as he can see it. There have been times where Cat convinced Manuel’s business partner’s to dance with her. He hasn’t given any one of them anything more than a warning in times were Catalina towed the line. Sometimes Cat has used this opportunity to subtly flaunt her flings in front of him. He has yet to catch when someone is more than just the nightly entertainment.

The stark difference between the generations of the manor honestly have me memorized. the fidelity of Gen Three is literally insane... Most of Gen Threes are apart of the sector called the academy.Bbasically, all children involved were breed specifically to do the bidding of the manor so their view of everything is very skewed. Also the manor is only 40 years strong... The idea was intially planned ten years earlier with Everleigh’s birth, but wasn’t solidified until she was about ten. The creation of the manor was a birthday gift to her.

THIS CONVERSATION WAS BOUND TO happen at some point. They were going to have a future together. She owed the truth to him. Her disappearing act must have bothered him. She knew that he had questions. The reassurance coming from him put her at ease. She believed him. Time and time again he had proven that he wasn’t like the others. Being so used to maltreatment, it always surprised her every time she was treated right. She was wired to be protective of herself hence always having her guard up. Ashley’s sincerity broke her walls down, and he sneaked up on her.
“I know you’re not.” She pulled back, and glanced at him. “I should tell you the story of my life.” Grabbing his hand, she intertwined their fingers. “’l’ll start with how I’m a product of my biological parents’ affair. The moment I was born, I was given away to my mother’s distant cousin. They raised me, but I was mostly left to fend for myself. They hated me, and I found out later on, by eavesdropping, that I wasn’t theirs.” The feeling of being unwanted stuck with her for a long time. “When I was twelve, my adoptive mother had her brother over. I felt uncomfortable around him, and something was off. Until one night, my adoptive parents left me alone with him. He volunteered to look after me, and my instincts told me something was going to happen.” She sighed. “I was right. He—he tried to assault me, and I was in panic mode. So, I stabbed him and ended up killing him.” She swallowed thickly. “They covered up the whole thing. I had therapy, and I recovered. Then I met my first love, Lee’s dad, and we accidentally had her. We decided to be together despite everyone being against it. But reality set in, and we had difficulty with the money. He got into some shady stuff—–sold drugs—–and then he started using. He changed until he beat me up one night, and it unlocked a whole new nightmare.” She was surprised that she wasn’t a wrecked recalling everything. “I got treated and recovered, but it changed me. It screwed up the way I was wired. And then another guy came along, and swept me off my feet.. But he also turned out to be a monster. He was the reason why I lost my second child.” She smiled ruefully. “I’m alright now, though. My mind was treated. I’d say I got stronger, but also guarded. My mind fortunately recovered. But my heart? It was damaged beyond repair.” Her hand reached out to cup his face, and caressed his cheek. “I find it unfair how you met the worst and most damaged version of me. The skeptical girl who runs. Scared to take a risk and go through all of that again. But I’m trying again. . . for you.”
Ash squeezed her hand as she continued to speak. A part of him growing increasingly upset at the fact that she had to go through such a thing. How people who were supposed to be there for her, weren’t. Their lives were parallels in ways that we unexpected. Having to fight for their lives was essentially the essence of their whole being, but Ash couldn’t completely tell her that. That dark part of him was something he left about a decade ago. He didn’t consider himself that man he used to be. Ash also viewed that as being a world behind him. The trauma of losing his wife to cancer seemed to be enough of a heartache tale for most to swallow, and it didn’t beg for further questioning about his past. His daughter was all he had other that Tempest and their new found family. He didn’t want to bring up the manor in an attempt to secure it never showing back up in his life. Pulling her closer as she moved to hold his face,❝ Tem... ❞ He wasn’t sure exactly where to start and what exactly to say. He moved to mimic her motions, brushing a hair behind her ear, ❝ I wouldn’t say that this is the worst version of you. I think it’s the best. ❞ His heart almost ached in how he felt when he looked into her eyes.
❝ Nothing is your past would make me love you any less than I currently do now, and I never want you to think that is would, not even for a second. I love you for who you are now. You’re a caring mother who was dealt a bad hand, but it doesn’t make you a bad person. It shows your strength, and it makes me love you even more since I know I’m having a kid with such a badass. ❞ She smiled before kissing her forehead and pulling her in for a hug. ❝ I’m never going to let anyone ever hurt you again. Your safe with me. I’m not going anywhere; I can promise you that.❞ Hoping that she could feel his sincerity in his tone and in his gestures. He wished he could do more to fight that voice inside of her telling her that she was too damaged for him. That he could let her know that it was really him that was the damaged one, and that she was too good for him after all.

𝕗𝕚𝕝𝕖𝕕 𝕦𝕟𝕕𝕖𝕣 》 the long-con for @decadentias
IT WAS CLEAR FROM THE start that this was all just pretend. But despite that, Tripp genuinely enjoyed her company. There was never a dull moment with Adele. Not wanting to read too much into it, he thought of it as an acting project he liked. Except this had to be convincing, and if it didn’t become a hit, it might cost them something. Overthinking aside, he was confident that they’d be able to pull this off. He trusted her a lot. It wasn’t a hundred percent, consider that he still had to leave room for doubts, but still, it was rare for him to put his faith into someone. It was an odd way of thinking. She was a chameleon, and she played a lot of roles. It would be impossible to know her, but it felt like he did. There must be a little piece of who she truly was in every character she played. “I guess I could consider myself lucky,” he quipped.
Taking on the boyfriend role came naturally to him. It was easy with her. Perhaps it was because of his knack for method acting. An ability that he carried with him since time immemorial. “It has a nice ring to it.” A chuckle slipped past his lips. They didn’t need to give each other pointers on intimacy. Somehow they just knew how it would work out between them. And if ever it got uncomfortable, the option to pull back was open. He pressed his lips to hers, and caressed her hair. He was indulging in this moment, allowing himself to drown and get lost into it. She didn’t push him away, and he took that as a sign to go on and prolong it for a while. The moment she let go, he caught his breath. Inhaling sharply at the kisses peppered to his jaw. He couldn’t care less if there was a stain of lipstick. “That’s alright,” he said huskily. Leaning down, his mouth descended on her neck. He kissed, nipped, and sucked her neck briefly, but intensely. Pulling away, he stroked the raw hickey on her neck. “Now we’re even.”
She chuckled at his words. It was something she would have to get over, but the surprise of it all might make it seem that much more believable. Adele figured that’s how she could play it off. Puppy love. The shock and awe that they were indeed a couple even though it was a complicated relationship. It was just hard to think with his lips on hers. The way that he kissed her made her almost forget what all this was for in the first place. Adele shouldn’t be letting herself get lost in this so quickly, but their chemistry was undeniable. Tripp knew exactly what to do and where to move next. She could feel her temperature rise almost a thousand degrees before the end of it. Yet, she found the aftermath hotter than the kissing himself. Just the sound of his voice, the sharp breath, it was doing something to her. Which is why she let out a soft moan when his lips travelled along her skin. It was completely accidental. Her eyes were fluttered shut and he managed to find the one weak spot on her next that made her moan. Instantly blushing, she forced a breath,❝ Well I didn’t give you a hickey but I’ll let it slide... For now. ❞ Looking in the mirror before fixing up her tossled hair, ❝ Alright, let’s go see your parents before we really piss them off for being late.❞
Adele was just desperate to get hit with some cold air to cool her off. They were already crossing lines. She could tell, it was making her nervous because she shouldn’t have been as into it as she thought. Sure, Tripp was attractive, but there was another reason why she felt a bit shy and nervous about it all. Adele never pictured that they’d be so in sync with one another. It was such a rarity for her to work with someone like that. She didn’t have to tell Tripp what to do. He already was one step ahead of her; it was the most attractive part about him. She was attempting to regain her composure in the 2 minute walk to inside the fancy gala. The probably most realistic part of it all, trying to put herself together with one of his hands in hers, and the other trying to make herself presentable. ❝ I’ll follow your lead for now. You call the shots. ❞ For the first time ever, she felt the butterflies of nerves hitting her. Maybe she bit off a bit more than she could chew. At least, Adele knew she could lean on him for the moment.
