Bloodborne in Wonderland 01
‪The Plain Doll thought she had never seen such a curious Great One in her existence: its body was sleek and grey, like that of a slug, although from its ‬head sprouted a great many append-ages that twitched when her wooden hands brushed the damp skin.
“Are you cold?”
The little infant of a cephalopod nature twitched, its sleek skin shining in the moonlight as she held it up to peer at its face.
“Oh, Good Hunter.”
.
Remember that piece I did two years ago? Yup I finally cleaned it up. Could use some thoughts on a title for “Bloodborne in Wonderland” though. This’ll be going up on my Etsy shop soon

The Grimoire of the Soul: Protectors of Gensou Town
A group of spiritually sensitive individuals, dedicated to protecting their hometown and friends from Hollows, rogue Soul Reapers, Quincies, and more.
Marisa Kirisame: A kleptomaniac and tomboyish orphan with the ability to see spirits and a big ego regarding herself and her abilities. Substitute Soul Reaper with the Zanpakuto Hakkero. Shikai turns it into a broom that enables her to fly on it like a witch, which is a minor part of its true power, manipulating the power of her Reiryoku to create explosive bursts of energy. Her Bankai, Touhou Hakkero, sends that to its logical extreme, giving her maximum control of her Reiatsu, through an outfit made out of it that resembles a witch’s cloak. However, this isn’t her true Zanpakuto, just a facsimile created by her Reiryoku. Her true Shikai is a smaller broom, as well as a witches hat that enables her to slightly see into the future. Her true Bankai’s powers are still unknown, but it’s been said that it can defy fate.
Release Phrase: “Fly.”
Reimu Hakurei: A Soul Reaper with a very straightforward, exhausted, and money hungry personality and the Zanpakuto Oharai-bou. Her Shikai turns it into a gohei that gives her the ability to fire sealing talismans that paralyze whatever limbs they hit. Her Bankai, Reiiden, activates her ultimate ability, Fantasy Nature, enabling her to float above reality.
Release Phrase: “Seal.”
Youmu Konpaku: A naive gardener with exceptional physical strength and kendo abilities, and a Fullbringer with the Fullbrings, Roukanken and Hakurouken, two blades allowing her to cut through both anything and cut through confusion, causing those she cuts to have their perception slowed down.
Sanae Kochiya: A naive, compassionate, and incredibly eccentric Fullbringer with the ability Everyday Miracle, enabling her to control the wind, as well as being able to give it incredible healing ability.
Sakuya Izayoi: A calm, collected, and bizarre Half-Quincy whose Cross manifests as daggers. Later achieves the Schrift known as the Eternity during the Quincy Blood War, allowing her to control time.
Alice Margatroid: A Bount with the Puppets Shanghai and Hourai. Shanghai holds a sword and, with enough Reiryoku, can fire off energy blasts, while Hourai has the ability to shield the user and cause itself to explode. The two can fuse to form the Goliath Doll, a super powerful Puppet with both of their abilities, at the cost of burning through their own Reiryoku at a lightning fast pace.
Reisen Udongein Inaba: A Quincy with a great superiority complex due to her abilities whose Cross manifests through a gun. Obtains the Schrift known as the Insanity during the Quincy Blood War, enabling her to manipulate insanity and wavelengths.
Eirin Yagokoro: Sakuya and Reisen’s mother, as well as one of the last pure blood Quincy. She’s incredibly arrogant, and genuinely believes she is smarter than everyone around her. Her Cross manifests through the typical Quincy bow and arrow. Her Schrift, gained during the Quincy Blood War, is the Medicine. It enables her to perfectly heal anyone after infusing her blood into theirs.
Rinnosuke ‘Kourin’ Morichika: A former Soul Reaper and caretaker of Marisa with the Zanpakuto Kourindou, which is also the name of his shop. His Zanpakuto’s Shikai allows him to find out the name and ability of any other ability after cutting the individual using it. His Bankai, Kourindou no Shinajina, enables him to temporarily rewrite a rule of a single person’s ability. He, however, cannot make the rule ‘I cannot attack Rinnosuke Morichika or any person he desires with my ability.’
Release Phrase: “Get a good sale.”
Utsuho ‘Okuu’ Reiuji: A dimwitted, yet highly intelligent when it comes to Kido techniques, former member of the Kido Corps who now serves as Rinnosuke’s assistant. She used to be Captain of the Kido Corps, despite her relative stupidity, before being forced out due to the machinations of a Captain 100 years ago, and during her tenure, created a powerful ability known as Shunko, manipulating her Reiatsu to be as destructive and powerful as a nuclear bomb.
Mamizou Futatsuiwa: A shifty and calmly menacing, yet ultimately well meaning former Soul Reaper who was formerly a Captain of the Second Division. Her Zanpakuto is Tanuki, enabling her to transform into anything she slices three times, including fellow Soul Reapers. Her Bankai is Bake-danuki, causing her to transform both herself and others into anything, obtaining their abilities too.
Release Phrase: “Trick them.”

—Llevas tres semanas encerrada, Marisa.
¿Has recolectado suficiente madera? Va a nevar esta noche. Te congelarás.

@arklayraven |🐇| just dropping a mention because I wanted to give a little commentary related to this post you made~!
Was originally gonna say this via reblog— but then decided a new post would probably be better, since the topic is only partly related aaaa—
But anyway— big relate in terms of being a fan of a series that’s unpopular/not widely known— Because I’m a fan of two things like that 💀

Shielded by Chaos
Okay, so I got this chapter idea when I was scrolling through Tumblr and saw a post by @hope-you-brought-kneepads-bitch of Agatha, Rio, and Billy, but I wanted to change it slightly! Credit goes to them!
Y/n = Your Name
Coven of Chaos x fem!teen!reader
The Witches Road had been a long and harrowing journey, but Y/n had come out of it stronger—or so she’d thought. Being part of the Coven of Chaos and the Young Avengers meant balancing two very different worlds. Unfortunately, it felt like neither of those worlds was going particularly well today.
The house was calm with energy, unlike how it usually is with the Coven of Chaos under one roof. Agatha was in the living room, lazily flipping through one of her old grimoires while sipping tea. Rio was in the kitchen, sharpening a dagger that she absolutely didn’t need to sharpen but did anyway to make a point. Lilia sat by the window, meditating with a faint golden aura surrounding her. Jen was sprawled on the floor, sketching intricate sigils in her notebook, while Alice quietly sipped her coffee, pretending not to eavesdrop on everyone.
The mood in the house was peaceful, at least until Y/n stormed in and slammed the door behind her.
"What happened?" Agatha questioned, looking up at the youngest witch.
"Nothing," Y/n muttered.
Agatha narrowed her eyes. "Don’t lie to me."
Y/n dropped her bag on the floor and flopped onto the couch, laying her head in Agatha’s lap and glaring at the ceiling. Agatha’s fingers instinctively began combing through Y/n’s hair, gently untangling the strands. She didn’t answer. Agatha exchanged a glance with Rio, who had wandered in from the kitchen with the knife still in hand.
"Fine! Rio, make her tell us," Agatha eyed the green witch.
Without missing a beat, Rio unsheathed the knife and pressed the flat edge lightly against Y/n’s throat.
"Tell us, abominación," Rio said.
Y/n groaned, shoving the knife away. "Geez, stop doing that! And stop calling me an abomination—it’s not true, and you know it."
"Ooh, drama," Jen remarked, looking up from her notebook.
"Shh, let it unfold," Alice added, sipping her coffee.
"Good, you can still talk. Now tell us why you’re miserable. Your mood is sucking all the good energy out of the room," Agatha pressed, her fingers now tapping against Y/n's head.
"I don’t think some of the other Young Avengers like me," Y/n admitted finally, her voice tinged with frustration. "We had a team meeting today, and a couple of them were ignoring all my ideas. And I don’t like theirs much, either."
Agatha’s eyebrow quirked. "The weird children are making fun of a witch? Well, that’s not surprising."
"What were your ideas?" Rio asked.
Y/n shrugged, avoiding eye contact. "Well, we shouldn’t be going after villains who aren’t committing any crimes. Attacking someone when they’re not doing anything doesn't make sense because that’ll just set them off again."
"And?" Agatha prompted, her fingers now lightly rubbing Y/n's head in a calming rhythm.
Y/n hesitated. Her lips pressed into a thin line.
"Go on," Rio said, moving the knife back toward Y/n.
"Wait! Okay, it’s just… Well, they think that Agatha needs to be locked away for her crimes and that Death shouldn’t be on Earth because it’s unnatural, and she needs to go back to her job of essentially being a cosmic janitor. That’s why I came back early," Y/n blurted out.
The room went silent. Even Lilia’s meditative aura dimmed slightly as she opened her eyes.
Agatha tapped her nails against the armrest. "Hmm."
Rio tightened her grip on the knife, her knuckles whitening.
"Rio?" Y/n asked nervously.
"Can I?" Rio asked, her voice eager.
"How badly do you want to?" Agatha replied, studying her wife’s expression.
Rio’s eyes lit up with a dangerous gleam. "As much as I want to rip Billy's soul from his body and finally get what I need from him."
"Go on, then," Agatha said with a nod.
"Yes!" Rio disappeared in a cloud of green smoke.
"Well, that escalated quickly," Jen said.
"I give it ten minutes before Kate Bishop calls," Alice remarked.
Y/n sat up straighter, her eyes widening. "Uh, where’s she going?"
"To have a chat with your "teammates,"" Agatha explained casually, her fingers returning to stroke Y/n’s hair.
Y/n’s phone buzzed on the coffee table. She picked it up and saw Kate's name flashing on the screen. She hesitated before answering.
"Hey, Kate. Oh… is she? Okay, well… Yeah, I don’t think he’ll say anything again." She hung up and looked at Agatha. "That was fast. She’s pissed off."
"You said she can’t kill, right?" Y/n asked.
"No, she can’t. But she can come really, really close to it," Agatha admitted.
Before Y/n could respond, Rio reappeared in the room, her expression calm and collected. To Y/n’s surprise, she wasn’t covered in blood.
"They won’t ever ignore or argue with you again," Rio declared.
"Thanks?" Y/n said hesitantly.
"No maiming?" Agatha asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No. This was just a warning," Rio replied with a smirk.
"Boring," Alice commented.
"Effective, though," Jen countered.
Y/n sighed, burying her face in her hands. "Great. The next meeting will be stressful."
Agatha’s expression softened. She leaned forward, resting her hand gently on Y/n’s shoulder. "Listen, kid. Those weirdos might be your teammates, but you have us. We’re your family. Never forget that."
Rio nodded, sitting beside her. "No one messes with our girl and gets away with it."
Lilia’s soft voice chimed in from the corner. "The universe can be cruel, but it’s nothing compared to us when someone hurts one of our own."
Jen and Alice nodded in agreement, their usual sarcasm replaced with quiet determination.
Agatha’s hand moved to Y/n’s hair again, her touch tender as she carefully smoothed the strands. "You’ve got more power in your little finger than most of those kids combined. Don’t let their nonsense shake you."
Y/n managed a small smile, feeling the weight on her shoulders lift slightly. Agatha and Rio were overbearing at times, but their protectiveness was a reminder that she wasn’t alone in this chaotic world.
"Thanks, Agatha. Thanks, Rio," Y/n murmured.
"That’s the spirit," Agatha said with a smirk.
Lilia added, "And if you ever doubt yourself, remember that you’re part of this family for a reason. We don’t choose just anyone."

I have had SO many questions since I started watching Agatha all along!
I really wanted to know more about witches, about the lore of this universe, like:
Do witches celebrate sabbats (Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lammas, Mabon, Samhain)?
Or is this something we, human, created? And more importantly, does Agatha celebrate sabbats?
Do witches have familiars?
If so, what are they? Are they animals chosen for some reason by the witch? Are they beings of nature (I mean, obviously yes, but magically speaking) that chose the witch, or the witch choose them?
Do witches perform rituals like Drawing down the Moon?
I mean, the only covens we saw performing any ritual were Evanora's, with Agatha's failed attempt at execution, and Agatha's own, when they sang the ballad of the Witches' Road.
Was Evanora the High Priestess of Agatha's old Coven, or its founder?
I disagree with this one myself, because a High Priestess is the role of a woman who's leading a group ritual. High Priestess is also a title sometimes conferred on female members of a Wiccan coven when they have completed their third, or fifth year of study and practice. Evanora looks more like the founder of the Coven.
Are grimoires only made by Coven leaders?
I BLAME THE FANFICS FOR THIS! Every time someone writes about the books Agatha used to learn magic, a lot of people mention that she stole her mother's grimoire after killing her coven, and I always wonder: "Couldn't Agatha create her own grimoire?", "Does every witch have a grimoire?", and things like that.
Why does the Witches' Road classify witches in the Ballad?
Agatha, Jen, Lilia and Alice are witches, they all have knowledge of spells, they know how to use magic, but why the hell did the Witches' Road classify them specifically as "Spirit Witch", "Potion Witch", "Divination Witch" and "Protection Witch"? In terms of witches' powers, do they have any specific magical specialization? That's why?
Why can ONLY those types of witches enter the Road?
Who the fuck decided that only these types of witches can enter the Witches' Road? And why? Can't a witch be a potions witch and a divination witch at the same time? Or it's because of what's in the Witches' Road Ballad?
Like, I have questions, and NOBODY ANSWERS THEM! I honestly feel a little lost, but it's really fun to have these questions, because this series is amazing in everything it proposes.

How to reference in your grimoire
If you intend on sharing your grimoire with the public or you're a fan of a more academic style of writing then you're gonna want to reference your sources to avoid any kind of plagiarism.
You may have already learned how to reference at your college/uni, in which case follow that method, but if you haven't let me show you what i've been doing in my grimoire.
The referencing style I was taught in my degree is a form of APA 7th edition. This style is best for essays and small research papers and since my grimoire is essentially a bunch of mini contextual essays stuck together I thought it was appropriate.
Here's the format:
Author Surname, Author Initials. (Date of publication/release). Title of source: sub-heading/title of chapter. Publishing company/website. Place of publication/website link. [Format]
So for example, the book I'm currently reading is Buried by Professor Alice Roberts. If I were to reference this book in this format it would look something like this:
Roberts, A. (2023). Buried, An Alternative History of The First Millennium in Britain: Water and Wine. Simon and Schuster. London. [Book]
(Its up to you whether you decide to put the chapter before the book title, it doesn't make a difference, but I prefer doing it this way.)
This reference will need to follow an in-text citation. You can do that by adding a little number in parentheses next to your quote or paraphrase that corresponds to the number on your list of references OR you can make a mini reference following this method:
(Author Surname, Author Initials. (Date of publication). Page number if required)
So following this method an in-text citation would look like this:
(Roberts, A. (2023). p1)
Tips
If you are citing a source with multiple authors, organised them alphabetically by surname, your in text citation only needs to include the first one.
If you're referencing an online upload of an old source like Internet Archive or Project Gutenberg, include the original authors name first, uploaders name/ID second and mark which is which in parenthesis, then the date of original publication if you can find it, followed by the date it was uploaded to the site.
If you are referencing a film/TV episode, use the name of the director and include (Dir) next to their name.
If you can't find a date of publication/upload then write DNA instead.
Always put your references at the back of your grimoire. If your grimoire contains multiple chapters, group them by each chapter and then organise either alphabetically or chronologically. If your in-text citation uses numbers, organise your reference list chronologically. If you're using a mini reference, organise your reference list alphabetically.
This last bit is especially important for practitioners who intend to publish their work. Please please please do not skip referencing! I've read so many traditionally published witchcraft books who's authors don't do this or do it half-assed and I can't stand it.
Readers deserve to know where your information is coming from so they can be the judge on whether or not it's appropriate for them to practice themselves. Not doing so creates a cycle of ignorance among readers and new practitioners that encourages the spread of cultural appropriation, poor media literacy and poor historical and scientific understanding. Always cite your sources.
