 it  shouldn’t  raise  suspicions  that  the  kraken  prince  was  venturing  into  the  dungeons.  he  had  several  people  important  to  him  who  had  mouthed  off  in  the  way  he  wished  he  could  have  ,  and  the  moment  he  spotted  their  names  on  the  list  given  to  his  father  his  feet  brought  him  to  the  place  he’d  yet  to  visit.  steps  echoed  as  he  passed  the  parts  of  sunspear  that  reminded  him  of  hime  ,  and  only  when  more  steps  echoed  the  opposite  direction  did  the  prince  slow.  when  a  flash  of  bright  hair  met  his  eyes  ,  an  eyebrow  raised.  he  recognized  the  other  right  away  ,  and  cocked  a  charming  grin.  “  my  ,  what  are  you  doing  down  here  ?  ”

 “  nobody  has  complimented  me  on  not  landing  myself  in  the  dungeons.  ”  begins  the  prince  ,  lounging  in  the  common  area  of  the  greyjoy  apartments  when  he  notices  tessa  walk  in.  the  prince  knows  what  he’s  in  store  for  with  this  conversation  ,  but  boredom  has  him  eager  for  anything  at  the  moment.  “  i’m  upset.  i  was  on  my  best  behavior.  ”  adds  the  kraken  ,  flashing  a  devilish  grin  to  the  other.

 he  wasn’t  quite  sure  what  to  say  to  his  family  members  ,  his  absence  had  been    noticed.  daegon  had  been  very  guarded  about  the  few  fears  in  his  life  ,  fire  was  not  something  he  took  lightly.  the  moment  the  first  flames  leapt  he’d  pulled  qhorin  off  to  his  bedchamber  ,  a  selfish  and  stupid  move  come  sunrise  when  he  discovered  maery  had  nearly  been  taken.  and  that’s  exactly  how  his  sibling  finds  him  ,  sitting  on  a  couch  in  their  common  space  and  twiddling  his  thumbs  as  the  twins  sleep  on  either  side  of  him.  “  that  was  certainly  more  than  a  vaguely  threatening  note.  ”

𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 : tessaria ( @qcyqoyi​​​​​ )

 the  prince  wasn’t  a  good  father  ,  and  he  knew  it.  he  didn’t  have  a  good  role  model  of  one  ,  a  good  king  couldn’t  be  a  good  father  ,  busy  ruling  a  kingdom  rather  than  coddling  his  young.  his  mother  was  the  balance  ,  but  even  she  couldn’t  be  considered  a  warm  and  tender  handed  woman.  it’s  why  he  struggled  so  much  with  his  children  and  their  mothers  ,  but  daegon  was  trying.  it’s  why  he’s  leaning  against  the  doorframe  of  alissa’s  room  ,  watching  tessa  lay  her  down  for  what  he  assumes  is  a  nap.  only  when  she  turns  to  him  does  he  deign  to  speak  ,  not  wanting  to  interrupt  the  moment.  “  i  came  to  see  how  she  was  ,  but  i  suppose  i  can  check  in  another  time.  ”  voice  soft  ,  unlike  what  most  thought  him  capable  of.

daegon  doesn't  move  when  the  hand  is  dismissed.  he  expected  as  much  ,  he'd  not  seen  his  father  since  before  the  events  at  the  wedding  ,  this  was  long  overdue.  knowing  how  thick  the  room  would  be  ,  it  seemed  the  hand  could  not  slip  away  fast  enough.  daegon  watches  them  go  ,  only  analyzing  each  step  until  they  were  completely  gone  from  sight.  his  head  snaps  back  to  his  father  at  the  words  ,  cocking  his  head  like  the  little  shit  he  was.  "  information  is  the  best  currency  of  the  world.  "  he  doesn't  think  he  needs  to  tell  his  father  that  ,  but  he  needs  to  share  how  he  feels.  "  my  proclivity  for  knowing  things  comes  quite  in  handy.  "  the  prince  far  more  observant  than  he  let  on  ,  intentional  on  his  part.

behaviors from his son had not gone unnoticed , but unmentioned . one would have thought that it had been daegon attempted swept into another's arms to be taken to whatever lair the culprits concocted in attempts of leverage . ❝ leave us . ❞ directed to the hand that advised him on many a thing including his son's demeanor and incidents that came with those that had gained close proximity to their family through his influence . ❝ what will knowledge do that you will do nothing with ? ❞ spoken only once his advisor was out of ear shot , brows raised in manner that suggested quellon desired an answer .

 “  do  you  know  how  much  chaos  i  cause  in  dornish  ports  ?  ”  asks  he  with  a  laugh  ,  already  half  drunk  and  certain  his  sibling  wasn’t  surprised  by  that  fact.  daegon  is  lounging  completely  sprawled  out  on  one  of  the  lounges  in  the  open  common  area  of  their  apartments  ,  seeming  completely  at  home  already.  “  i’d  be  surprised  if  the  martells  didn’t  kick  me  out.  ”  of  which  he  wouldn’t  complain  about.

 “  do  promise  me  you’ll  at  least  try  to  behave  this  time  ,  alarra.  ”  he  knew  his  words  would  likely  earn  an  angered  reaction  ,  but  they  were  a  test  along  with  warning.  he  couldn’t  clean  up  after  her  time  and  time  again  ,  her  actions  at  the  ball  were  likely  to  still  be  very  fresh  in  many  minds  especially  if  she  was  spotted  with  the  lord  again.  “  i  cannot  always  save  you  ,  and  the  boys  are  fond  of  their  mother.  ”

the  growing  babe  in  his  arms  squirms  the  moment  she  hears  the  familiar  voice  of  maery.  deagon  chuckles  ,  setting  alissa  down  to  scramble  over  to  his  sister  in  her  stumbling  walk  that  was  improving  each  day.  the  toddler  quickly  latches  onto  the  other  ,  always  loving  her  aunt.  "  i  suppose  she  missed  you.  "  it's  not  even  the  first  time  they've  seen  one  another  since  she  went  to  winterfell  ,  alissa  has  just  been  clingier  than  normal.

𝐀𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐗𝐀𝐒 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐋  .

remains in sunspear with his wife, sharra martell, and son, oberyn sand ( plus aaliyah mormont and darnell arryn ). eventually they chose to travel around parts of dorne, but do not stray out of the kingdom. happily shows off his home to his wife before returning home to soak up as much time with she and oberyn before they are forced to visit highgarden.

𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐗𝐈𝐀 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐊  .

returns home to winterfell with her family where she dives into preparing things for lyanna and sunwoo's wedding. attends that, as well as the wedding of cailin mallister and helaena florent, has a short visit with their cousins, house tully, in riverrun afterwards. she then returns to winterfell before leaving once more to visit some of the northern vassal houses with her knights, including sebastian manderly. they visit white harbor first so bash can see his family, including alistair manderly. after a few weeks of this they return to winterfell shortly before the travel to highgarden.

𝐂𝐄𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊 𝐑𝐘𝐒𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋  .

travels back to winterfell to settle for a moment before returning to the rills where he also again sees his sibling, vika ryswell. he helps pack and move his children permanently to winterfell. attends the weddings of lyanna stark and sunwoo lannister, as well as cailin mallister and helaena florent. visits the dreadfort at the request of harrion. in his remaining days in winterfell , ced posed the question to harry of legitimization , thus naming his youngest child catlyn a lady ryswell as well.

𝐃𝐀𝐄𝐆𝐎𝐍 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐘𝐉𝐎𝐘  .  

spends his time in pyke with his family, travels with kaelys to suss out suitors, spends time with his daughter, alissa, as well as enjoys a visit from gisele with their twins, roryn and loren.

𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐀 𝐅𝐎𝐖𝐋𝐄𝐑  .  

returns to sky reach to bury her sister. remains there with family for a time before returning to sunspear. spends time there with the martells before going to visit calla tarth for a short period. then returns back home to be with her family once more.

𝐄𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐀 𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐄𝐍  .  

returns to winterfell and busies herself with work. spends time with the starks, helps prepare for lyanna and sunwoo's wedding that she attends. also attends the wedding of cailin mallister and helaena florent before visiting her family briefly. returns to winterfell where she remains the remainder of the skip.

𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐑𝐀 𝐓𝐘𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐋  .  

returns to bury her second brother in highgarden. spends her time in there with her siblings, saadet, ferah and cemal. writes melina hightower often.

𝐇𝐔𝐆𝐎 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐓  .  

travels to winterfell with the starks, and eventually greets his betrothed, katerina blacktyde, accompanied by maery greyjoy. brings kat to visit his family on bear island, where he sees his sister, aaliyah mormont, before returning to winterfell. spends much of the time with kat and the starks.

𝐋𝐔𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐒 𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐘𝐄𝐍  .  

visits king's landing for some time and spends it with willas marbrand and his family that are there ( sans aedar ). makes a short visit to the driftmark to see corlys velaryon before he travels back to summerhall to spend more time with his son, daeron. spends much of his time reading if he's not with his son or being visited by family at summerhall.

𝐌𝐘𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐀 𝐁𝐎𝐋𝐓𝐎𝐍  .

myranda heads straight to essos thanks to aeron greyjoy, spending a majority of her time in volantis but also visiting other free cities. has a short fling with another pirate while there. writes her family often, including brother, soren snow, spends her time with her friends and suedo family in volantis.

𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐀𝐍 𝐇𝐀𝐖𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐄  .

returns home with her family before being sent to king's landing by her father to be with her betrothed, willas marbrand. her older sibling comes as chaperone. writes aranya baratheon and serena karstark often while avoiding her betrothed and spending her days in the great libraries of the red keep. eventually is allowed to go home when willas ventures to visit his friend, calla.

𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐒𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐇  .  

returns to the eyrie with the arryns and helps everyone settle in. eventually is visited by his niece, visera waters. shows her the eyrie and then takes her to the clan redsmith lands with osric arryn in tow. after their visit ends, he returns to the eyrie to continue his duties to the arryns.

𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐍 𝐃𝐀𝐘𝐍𝐄  .

spends his days in sunspear rearranging the guards, assigning those he trusts to watch over ryon, nym and their siblings. makes short visits to starfall and yronwood to see his family and myriah yronwood respectively. much of his time is then spent training his guards, assessing their loyalty, and pining after his princess. nearly visits king's landing several times but is unable to get away from sunspear towards the end of the skip.

 he  never  asked  how  much  something  cost  ,  nor  did  he  really  care.  daegon  didn’t  spend  his  own  coin  much  so  at  least  someone  was  enjoying  it.  “  did  you  have  fun  shopping  for  that  ?  ”  he  didn’t  know  how  it  worked  ,  if  she’d  picked  it  and  had  it  fit  to  her  or  if  it  was  made  custom.  the  prince  didn’t  really  care  to  know  either  ,  his  question  remained.

"  if  i  wish  to  stay  in  pyke  ,  what  shall  you  do  ?  "  drawls  the  prince  as  he  ponders  too  many  things  at  once.  he  didn't  think  it  would  be  hard  for  melly  to  find  something  entertaining  to  do  if  he  didn't  wish  to  sail  ,  but  was  nosy  and  wished  to  hear  what  she  might  be  considering.  daegon  wasn't  foolish  enough  to  think  that  simply  because  he  stayed  in  pyke  ,  his  best  friend  would  too  ,  but  he  wouldn't  lie  and  say  he'd  hate  to  have  the  company  either.

the  prince's  brow  raises  at  the  question  his  sister  poses  ,  unsurprised  and  wondering  what  she  wishes  to  gain  from  this  conversation.  maery  is  a  part  of  his  soul  ,  but  even  still  the  kraken  feels  he  doesn't  fully  know  her  motives.  sometimes  he  wonders  if  she  even  knows  them  for  herself.  "  i  wish  to  be  a  better  member  of  this  family.  "  begins  he  ,  voicing  things  he  had  very  often  kept  to  himself.  "  to  do  so  i  need  to  be  more  productive  ,  sailing  about  and  getting  drunk  doesn't  do  that.  "  a  shrug  graces  his  shoulders.  "  do  you  not  think  it  will  work  ?  "  he  wasn't  sure  what  to  do  yet  ,  but  daegon  had  only  shared  his  vague  plans  to  remain  in  pyke  and  be  of  more  use  to  his  family  than  not.

 strolling  into  the  dungeons  the  prince  was  well  aware  of  the  stares  from  the  guards.  who  would  trust  an  islander  visiting  anyone  ,  after  all.  the  kraken  ignored  them  ,  though  ,  and  only  stopped  when  he  found  one  of  the  people  he  desired  to  visit.  “  do  you  think  they  allow  conjugal  visits  for  husbands  ?  ”  comes  his  question  ,  playful  grin  on  his  lips.  inside  daegon  hates  seeing  the  people  he  liked  behind  bars  ,  but  the  prince  wasn’t  foolish  enough  to  think  he  had  the  power  to  free  them  either.

 “  too  early.  ”  grumbles  the  prince  as  he  stumbles  out  of  his  room  and  sits  himself  at  the  breakfast  table  that  now  likely  has  cold  pastries  left  and  clearly  only  his  sister.  daegon  had  been  spending  more  of  his  time  doing  his  usual  thing  ,  staying  up  late  with  another  in  his  bed  ,  drinking  ,  and  sleeping  as  long  as  he  possibly  could.  but  the  drowned  god  must  have  cursed  him  when  rooms  were  assigned  ,  the  kraken’s  facing  more  of  the  morning  sun  than  he  could  endure.  “  who  ate  all  the  muffins  ?  ”  probably  his  brother.

 “  have  any  of  your  family  been  concerned  with  where  you  might  have  gone  off  to  last  night  ?  ”  his  hadn’t  been  in  so  many  words  ,  but  the  undertone  was  very  loud.  he’d  been  missing  when  maery  had  been  in  danger  ,  and  whether  she  saved  herself  or  not  ,  he  was  no  where  to  be  found.  daegon  battled  with  the  guilt  of  it  all  ,  and  sought  to  distract  himself  the  best  way  he  knew  how.

“  i’ve  sailed  up  the  coast  of  dorne  and  spent  many  moons  in  their  ports  ,  the  taverns  have  nothing  on  the  martells.  ”  he  wouldn’t  compliment  them  any  further  ,  or  even  explain  ,  but  free  alcohol  always  went  far  for  the  kraken.  for  once  ,  it  was  something  he  wanted  to  drink  unlike  every  other  celebration  they’d  been  to  over  the  past  year.
