the third times comes with a confession. she’s AFRAID to tell him; what if he doesn’t feel the same but anyone with EYES could see he did. she was just terrified of rejection. they’re having dinner and she’s being WEIRD, she knows it. he asks her about it and she panics, cheeks FLAMING red and she blurts it out.     ❛   i think i’ve fallen in love with you.   ❜   she waits for an answer and when she looks up his SMILE is more than enough.  she leans across the table, lips PRESSING to his with a smile to match his own and he whispers the words against her lips.

the fourth time is excited. they hadn’t really even realized it, but they’d moved in together. with all the traveling, they pair USUALLY ended up leaving their stuff at his house. easier to go to ONE location after lots of traveling than to just split up. CAIN is the one that points it out, and it takes them only SECONDS to decide, ‘yeah, okay. let’s do it’. kat SELLS her own house, and when that sale finalizes, it becomes REAL. they OFFICIALLY live together and she seals it with a kiss, tossing her phone into the couch as she JUMPS into his arms, legs wrapping about his waist, hands grasping his face as lips press against his.

the fifth time is with a goodbye.  she’s left the team, choosing to join a FRIEND from medical school in opening a private practice. but now this means she WONT be traveling with him and the loss of his COMPANY leaves her with an ache in the pit of her stomach. they’ve been so CONNECTED since they’d gotten together, but isn’t the saying ‘distance makes the heart grow fonder’? she’s dropping him off at the airport and she’s having a HARD time letting him go.  pressed against the car, his lips find hers and she’s CLINGING to his shirt as they kiss, mumbling goodbye’s against each others lips before his TEAMMATES drag him away. she already misses him. he’ll be back.
