I've been thinking about the Goblin Camp and how each of the Dead Three's Chosen had their own 'chosen' True Souls within the camp and have been trying to draw the line between Gortash and True Soul Gut--like sure, maybe he just took the one in the chain of command leftover once the other two picked theirs, but somehow I doubt it.

Honestly I'd like to think he picked her because of her position-- she genuinely does good for her tribe, she's their healer. And they are enthralled by her, a lot like a decent (if not majority) of the city is absolutely adoring of Gortash himself. Now that could be his influence, same as Orin's bloodlust on Minthara, which would be very interesting-- Two ambitious and creative people who genuinely want to do right by their people, even if their methods are less than noble at best and straight-up evil at worst.

Idk man, I just think Gut being Gortash's charge is a hell of a concept and kinda clever parallel-wise.

ANNELISE & HER VIEW ON COMMONWEALTH NATIONS.

Much like her colonies (current and former,) Annelise has always held a motherly attitude towards them. As she's grown older & many of them have become nations of their own, she's rather.. cold & distant. She views them as her personal failures & would do best to keep them in the back of her mind. It is not that she doesn't care nor love them, she just has no further use for the charade of being a parental figure to those who should know better.

The Commonwealths, however, she still views as children who are learning the ways of how nationhood works. They aren't quite nations, but they have potential & Annelise values their strides to be recognised. They get her more.. softer side, a more tender guidance. It's with the Commonwealth's that her motherly side comes through, but it's often difficult for her to distinguish that while they view themselves as separaete from the country they reside within, they aren't the same.
