12. Do they have a difficult time when separated from each other, or are they fairly independent?

I'd say all of them have a healthy / appropriate distance from each other and are pretty content with it. But I will say, Imani/Nick are definitely the ones who spend the most time together and feel it the most when they're not around each other. I like to think they spend a lot of their free-time together, so whenever Nick is away Imani gets quite lonely and misses him a lot :< it's not necessarily neediness or codependency, she's just always used to him being there and it's nice.

17. How well do they communicate? Are they open with their feelings/thoughts or more reserved? Why?

Theo/Sloane - Their communication is 10/10 but they could work on how they say things! They're both brutally honest (in a jokey unserious way too) so I feel like a lot of their concerns would be addressed instantly. They also strike me as the couple who will openly say whatever thought pops in their head - without judgement - and just slip into random conversations. They just get each other.

Similar thing for Luci/Astur! Since they started off kind of as complete strangers, they'd be more direct about communication (if that makes sense??). But there's never any hard feelings. It's something that's help lay down a foundation of honesty in their relationship. Just being 100% Though I feel like emotions wise they're more reserved. Especially Luci.

On the opposite end, I feel like during their relationships Valeria/Sunwoo weren't very open with each other. Unless it was something negative that needed to be addressed, they had no problem airing that out with each other. As for more soft and loving communication? That rarely happened, mostly due to Sunwoo's hesitance. Val mostly tried to go along with it and be like "yes I'm totally fine :))) " all the repressed emotions from both ends. (also, this has inspired a new headcanon about their relationship. pls see me for more details <3 asjkl )

19. Do they wear each other’s clothes/jewelry?

Lance/Quinn - a hundred percent yes! Sometimes she'll lounge around in his shirts, which are cutely oversized on her. I also feel like Quinn likes to clip little pink bows or accessories onto Lance's clothes for "more color" and he's like 'cute' and goes along with it so Quinn can be happy. and he secretly likes that they kinda match.

Dean/Isa - I think she would like to borrow his jackets, shirts, and maybe hats to accessorize her outfit with. Dean lowkey has a lot of cool clothing tbh. I could also see her lounging around in his pajama pants or sweatpants! On the flipside, Dean would occasionally borrow her necklaces and rings because he likes accessories.

Trinity/Duygu - Trini always lets Duygu borrow or even keep a lot of her clothing items of accessories. It started off as Trinity being like "wait I have just the thing to make your outfit perfect" and now it's a regular thing. They also share lipstick!

31. Do they often go out on dates? What are these like?

Trinity/Duygu - Every weekend and it's non negotiable! They both have very busy schedules during the work week, so they always make it a point to keep the weekends for themselves as much as possible. It's usually always Trinity booking them dinner at a high end restaurant or them going to a brunch or farmer's market in the morning.

Similar to above, Audrie/Luca like to reserve weekends for each other, as long as there's no prior commitments. Sometimes it's quiet dates with each other at a nice restaurant, or staying in to cook and have a bottle of wine. Sometimes they'll do more fun kid-related activities when Mikey is with them. Her favorite is making sunday dinner, where she'll invite Luca and Mikey over for a small, intimate dinner. Very sweet and cozy, they feel like a family

On the opposite end, the couple that rarely goes on dates would be Lance/Lucy. Believe me, he wants to take her out all the time and asks her time after time, but Lucy always has an excuse or an obligation to her actual boyfriend. On the rare chance they do have dates, he plans something very private but also very elaborate so he can 'show off' and impress her. It probably a once a month thing but trust me, he goes all out :') lol

Also !! we haven't done anything with them yet, but Aisha/Mary definitely give off the vibes where Aisha always asks Mary out on spontaneous dates. It's always like "wanna go out to dinner or dancing in like an hour??" or "we're going to paris in a few days wanna go??"

48. Do they talk about their future together? Why or why not?

Trinity/Duygu - Ok so Trin has definitely made hints and references to wanting to marry Duygu and things like that. I don't believe it's been a full blown serious conversation yet, but the way Trinity speaks about the future definitely has Duygu included.

Miyoung/Flynn - Hear me out, they do talk about their future together but not in a serious way. It's almost always just Miyoung making offhanded joking comments like "when we live together we're getting 10 cats okay" or "I like dolphins. we should have them at our beach wedding" - or her sending those cutesy relationship memes about being together forever. It's very nonchalant that Flynn probably can't tell if she's serious or not. Even Miyoung doesn't know LOL

Nothing is inherently magical.

The mage makes objects, situations, and all concepts magical that otherwise wouldn't be. Things are as they are, just existing as they evolved. Salt is a food, dirt is dead nature, and water is a liquid. The Sun is a star, the Moon is a giant asteroid in orbit, and Earth is a planet. Welcome to the Ordinary World.

Perception manifests magic.

Salt becomes a sympathetic link for water as well as a protective element. It is corrosive to negative energy and spirits. Dirt becomes a sympathetic link to wherever the witch picks it up from. From a church it becomes a hallowed object, from a graveyard it becomes a tool for necromancy, from a garden a tool for growth. So get some dirt and do some dirty magic.

From Land to Sea, Sky to Cosmos, all things are magical now upon the Will of the Mage!

So we take our favorite pop-culture characters and use them in our rituals. It is more accepted now then it was when Taylor Ellwood first presented the idea (he's the first as far as I know to make it public, although it is also mentioned in The Paradigmal Pirate by Joshua Wetzel). He says only characters that are from worlds with magic should be used for pop-culture magical purposes.

Fortunately, this is less common, and I am one that uses characters and worlds that are not inherently magical. It is a challenge, but a lot of characters and worlds that have magic built in are often based off of concepts and beings from mythology and religion anyway. Why work with a fictional version of something that already exists in our magical universe? So I made it a point to find the magic where there is little to none.

The Pop-Culture Triple Aspect

Supergirl, particularly from the CW starring Melissa Benoist, started my pop-culture work. Her outfit became a form of color magic, her powers inspirations for extended perception based on psi, the limits of my own strength, and her Kryptonian lineage a view into Atlantean conspiracies and myth, and finally, a delve into UAP phenomena.

Harley Quinn was next where I broke her costume down into color magic forms and functions, her journey from the Joker to finding herself as a shadow work journey to self realization. Her weapons became magical tools, and her hyenas reprsentation of animal familiars. Her makeup became a concept for glamour and her mental instability a line between the magical and mundane, the imaginative and creative.

Although she is great for shadow work, not so much for self love, but good for smashing your heart to bits to cry it out and laugh it off... and do it all over again until the pain subsides.

Lastly, Android 18, or Lazuli, was added to complete the Triple Aspect. The Triple Aspect is important in my practice as I used to be a devotee of Hekate. For a long time she has always been who I return to for devotion and acts of sorcery. I don't worship anymore, but Hekate is always in the back of my mind.

I also broke Android 18's powers down into forms of extended perception and clothing as related to color magic, but more importantly, she is a focal point of unlimited energy, cybernetics, and the possibilities of science. She represents the future after the Singularity as she is an android that was originally human that married a human and fights aliens.

Each of the pop-culture archetypes above and their worlds are shared concepts of superpowers, extraterrestrials, magic, time travel, and pushing the limits. They were born from the imagination and so they make home in mine.

Hello and welcome to comicedit's first ever event, celebrating our favourite women in comics and comic book adaptations!

As women's history month draws near, we want to give everyone the opportunity to celebrate their favourite women in comic-related media. This event is structured with very open themes each week, allowing for everyone to have enough time to create their material. Multiple submissions for the same theme are not only accepted, they're encouraged!

WHAT DO WE ACCEPT?

Gifs, graphics, moodboards, video material, virtually anything visual is accepted!

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?

We will track our usual tag, #comiceditblog, as well as #cewomen25!

RULES

As usual, we do not accept material regarding the Elizabeth Olsen portrayal of Wanda Maximoff, or Gal Godot's depiction of Wonder Woman.

THEMES

Week 1, 1st to the 7th of March → Favourite female character(s). Self-explanatory!

Week 2, 8th to the 14th of March → Favourite women-led project. This incorporates films, television shows, solo comic book titles, all-women teams, etc. Any piece of comic book media that centers on a woman is accepted! Examples; Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Wonder Woman (1976), Dazzler (1981) by Tom DeFalco, etc.

Week 3, 15th to 21st of March → Favourite female relationship. Wherever it's two best friends, a mother and a daughter, or a romantic relationship, anything is accepted here. Non-canon ships or team-ups are also accepted. Examples; Harley Quinn/Poison Ivy, Sue Storm-Richards and Valeria Richards, Scarlet Witch and Zatanna team-up.

Week 4, 22nd to 28th of March → Favourite obscure / underrated woman. This is for your supporting cast favourite, your 10 minutes of screentime darling, your 25 appearance queen. This is the time to show love for the forgotten women in comic book media, but we know everyone's definition of underrated is different, so we aren't too strict! Examples; Lady Dorma, Helen Cho, Lyta Trevor, etc.

The remaining three days are free; if you want to put out extra work, or catch up on a missed prompt, please feel free! At the end of the month, we will collect everything in a round-up post, so everyone can check out each other's beautiful work.

Guys say hi to my newest OC!

Her name is Martina, she's Montague's twin sister and I ship her with Valeria!

Here's a few fun facts about her:

She loves twenty one pilots. You can probably already tell just by looking at her clothes...

She's a thief! She's changed heist crews multiple times, and has teamed up with Antonia & Maria, Loveless, Cassidy Quinn and Melee & Moissanite!

She actually stole the necklace she's wearing from Valeria before they properly met!

I got the name Martina from one of @lances-wife's OCs!

Despises her brother, but is best friends with his wife(?) Melee.

Dated Cassidy Quinn for a little while, didn't end very well (Cassidy stole her car).

And now her general story!

It starts when Martina was fed up with how the Society was run, and decided to join the Underground with Hope. There, she could be herself. She already sneaked out to go on heists, but now she didn't need to worry about getting caught trying to get out. One day, instead of going out to steal something, Martina decided to go spy on Valeria, to gather information.

But she was caught by one of Valeria's guards.

Before she even knew they were there, the guard snuck up on Martina and covered her mouth and nose with a rag, knocking her out. When she woke up, she was tied up on a chair in Valeria's basement.

"Look who finally woke up..." Valeria snarks. "Martina Montague. Long time no see."

She was interrogated for hours at a time, Valeria was digging into her life, trying to get any information about the Underground out of her. And in the time they spent together, Valeria was getting softer. She still had that same ambitious flame, but she wasn't as cruel as she was when Martina was first captured. And Martina wasn't as sassy. They had grown fond of each other.

And then one day, something happened.

It seemed like a regular day, just more interrogating. But then Valeria told the guards to leave the room.

And then she closed the vault door.

"Martina... I need to tell you something." Valeria says as she lights the candles around the room with her finger. "I've been thinking about you a lot. And I need to tell you something." She places her hand on the back of the seat Martina was strapped to. "Martina, I love you. You're all I can think about."

"Valeria..." Martina smiles. "I love you too."

Valeria unties Martina, letting her wrap her arms around her waist. Valeria's hands grab the back of Martina's head, pulling her closer and kissing her.

And from that moment on, the two were inseparable.

— ❥ Having grown up watching movie musicals with her mother, who loves them, Ria has dreams of putting another notch in her musical belt by performing on a Broadway stage one day. — ❥ Since moving to Nashville for her music career, Ria has actually become a big fan of the Predators, and goes to as many of their home games as she can. She has even worn a Preds jersey to a few Canucks or Devils games she’s gone to for her cousins, just to have some fun with them - in fact, she was wearing one when she went to the Devils game where she first met Nico, and later she jokes that it’s a miracle he ever wanted to date her at all if that was the first thing he ever saw her wearing.

✪ QUINN AND VALERIA ( + NOAH )

✪ IMPORTANT FACTS

➪ quinn and valeria started dating their freshman year of college (2017)

➪ the two always knew that during his sophomore year he would be drafted but they didn’t pay too much attention to that

➪ right before quinn left for vancouver, he broke up with her out of the blue(-ish)

➪ when he told her why, she argued and said that they would be able to make it work but he didn’t want to do long distance so eventually she just didn’t want to fight anymore

➪ about a week later she found out she was pregnant with noah

➪ she ended up flying out a week after and was grateful quinn was still there despite the season being over

➪ when she told him, he wanted nothing more than to be there for her and their kid, because even though he left he still loved her and was flooded with guilt that his anxiety and insecurities took over the love he had for her

➪ they’re a very laidback kind of couple

➪ they are always choosing to stay inside rather than go out on flashy dates

➪ he does get her flowers all the time

➪ they will read books together, it’s one of their favorite things to do together even though val isn’t a huge reader

➪ he takes after val in the sense that he likes simple things and that his favorite color is green

➪ he takes after quinn because he has a love for books and hockey

➪ he inherited quinn’s dark and messy hair and valeria’s hazel eyes and slightly tan skin color

➪ he is also a huge foodie, loves to try different kinds of foods 

➪ his current favorite interest is dinosaurs and rainbows (a very interesting combination)

➪ and his current favorite movie is cars and finding nemo

➪ his room is underwater themed

➪ despite his current fixation of dinosaurs, he loves turtles

➪ quinn loves to take him fishing during the summer

➪ valeria will always take him to bakeries and different buildings that she likes 

➪ he did also get quinn’s charms

➪ in addition to their son, they do adopt a baby golden retriever in 2022 named winnie ! (yes as in winnie the pooh)
