I think I need a break from smut for a few days (and from fucking community labels), so I was thinking of writing a short chapter for Frustration (not counting as Part 4, but as a side chapter) exploring how Miguel first met sweet girl and how and why he got so obsessed with her.

Originally, I had every intention of creating an elaborate post detailing some noteworthy individuals and just how they've made my time here so incredibly wonderful. Unfortunately, that plan fell through. How? My list wound up longer than I could fathom, and I am uncertain of everyone's comfort in being directly mentioned. Besides that, the truth is, every single mutual I have has played a part in the joy I have found here. So instead, this is what I offer you.

I created this blog in the summer, I believe sometime around August. Truth be told, I wasn't supposed to be here. Months prior to making my Stolas blog, I originally created a separate one for a completely different fandom, making a return with a pair of close friends just for fun. We missed writing and had decided, fuck it, why not go back to tumblr? But when I got into Helluva Boss, I never expected this.

My initial presence was meant to be small. I fully anticipated doing round-robin writing back and forth with my two friends, and maybe a small handful of others. But my return to tumblr was meant to be a "soft opening" sort of ordeal after some terrible past experiences and years away. I returned to things being incredibly different!

Something happened, though. Somewhere along the way, actual magic was afoot, and now I am here with all of you. The vast majority of my time here has been so dazzling, I am starstruck! I have been surrounded by so many warm, compassionate, creative, talented individuals, my heart soars whenever I see you all!

Writing Stolas has been both fun and cathartic. Of course I expected to have fun, but I never expected to make so many deep and meaningful connections while here. I suppose, originally, I had intended to keep people at arm's length (we see how well that worked out). I am grateful for not doing so. Writing is an escape for me, and a wonderful hobby full of adventure and exploration!

So anyways. . . . Thank you, my friends, for having fun with me! Thank you for writing with me, for expressing your opinions and sharing your craft, for having patience, for offering kindness, and for the compliments I have (albeit reluctantly) received and accepted. You have absolutely no idea how much you mean to me, and I do not believe I can conjure the words to prove it to you. It just isn't that simple.

May you always find stars even in your darkest nights, carry hope in your heart during your longest days, and feel loved at the hardest of times.

THERE was an annoyed sigh and a roll of his eyes, but aphelios complied. while he'd prefer to somehow do this by himself he'd let his bandmate do so to make it easier. outwardly he wore the posture of impatience and annoyance but internally he found it almost nice to some degree. would he ever actually admit to this? never. well . . . never to kayn directly. to alune? oh, this would probably be part of their next conversation or the one right after that. maybe he'd include some kind of teasing that could result in his twin inadvertently poking fun later on. was this a fickle roundabout way of doing things? probably. but his ways were what made sense to him and he'd stick to them.

aphelios wrote what he said in his messaging app. while his voice was good to use it was more fun to tease with text by forcing kayn to read it. it was weird but it made it funnier. though he definitely appreciated it. who knew he could enjoy spending time with people other than his twin? times sure changed.

“parents from hell & standoff” extended cut

i will never understand why they didn’t keep this version of the scene. it delivers so much more shock and gives neytiri a whole other level of depth in her rage 😭

as much as i loved the second movie the cut they decided for this scene always felt unfinished. she was far too enraged over neteyam to just go “a son for a son”, give spider a small cut, and that be it.

and critics say that this scene makes her just an insane, enraged person, but if you lost your father, sister, son, and home due to humans, i think you’d react just the same way. i couldn’t blame neytiri for never accepting or approving of spider being around her & jake’s children. i think neytiri’s rage in this scene also just exemplifies the rage all na’vi must feel due to what’s happening to their home, even if not expressed outwardly.

i honestly don’t think skora would’ve been able to either. but because of how he cherishes kiri and the other sully children, he’s civil. he knows that kiri has a soft spot for spider (though he despises it). he’d never do anything for spider that he would the others — he creates traditional clothing, weapons, armor, etc for the other children, even makes them medicines, watches over them, gets them out of trouble, etc.

even with the metkayina children we meet in atwow skora is very respectful and helpful. he becomes close with tsireya, aonung, rotxo, etc, and shares his stories and traditions with them just as he did with the sully kids.

despite spider being a child raised by the resistance, skora just can’t let his origins go. his entire clan being wiped out by the RDA is a big factor into this. they have the same enemies but they are not the same, that’s what he always remembers and feels.

THE voice made aphelios freeze. his internal desire to book it so he could lock himself away was overwhelming but given it would be a bigger hassle to do that than to face the music of seeing what kayn was talking to him for. begrudgingly he glanced over to see what it was before the orchid and box were thrust toward him. that in and of itself was a shock and elicited an audible gasp from him. perhaps he stood there in shock simply staring at his bandmate like he'd done something completely ridiculous for far too long but once it processed in his mind aphelios couldn't help but silently chuckle.

a small smile made its way to his lips as he took the gifts before he gave a look that loudly read he was going to use this as fodder to tease him later while simultaneously gave that mocking ' aw, you do care ' look without having to say it out loud with the specific tone that would accompany it. perhaps he could enjoy little things for valentine's day if it was just simple gifts from his bandmates and his sister. anyone else? he was going to avoid like the plague. far too many overwhelmingly loud moments in his youth made him decide on that.

" thanks. " he paused to think before adding. " don't open any of the kitchen cabinets. " he wouldn't elaborate. but this was his attempt to return the kindness. he figured kayn wouldn't enjoy opening a cabinet to a ton of glitter he'd take weeks to get out. he'd try to give back a more proper gift but he'd save kayn from that at least.
