goodbye reverse : your  muse  kissing  and/or  hugging  your  my  goodbye.

it  shouldn’t  be  a  time  to  get  all  emotional.    tearful  goodbyes  had  never  been  his  thing,    he  really  hated  the  whole  idea  of  people  crying  all  over  him  or  vice  versa.    it  so  wasn’t  his  scene.   though  maybe  the  passing  years  had  made  the  boy  turn  soft,     at  least  when  it  came  to  those  that  mattered.     it  wasn’t  like  it  was  goodbye  forever  for  crying  out  loud.    but  it  was  his  time  to  move  on.    he  had  a  family  of  his  own  on  the  way  he  needed  to  look  after,     and  while  he  cared  deeply  for  the  family  he  was  leaving  behind,    it  was  a  step  he  had  to  take,    one  that  was  highly  encouraged  as  well.    they  would  be  returning  back  home  and  he  would  be  staying  in  new  york  permanently.   

arms  wrap  firmly  around  the  older  gentleman  as  he's  pulled  into  a  tight ,    firm  hold.    how  much  grief  had  he  given  the  poor  man  in  the  past ？   it  was  almost  funny  how  much  had  changed  over  these  few  years.    ❝  farewell  old  man.    you  take  care  of  granny  for  me,   alright ?    if  anything  happens,    well,    don’t  forget  i  know  where  you  live.  ❞    his  humour  falls  dry  as  he  all  but  clings  into  the  embrace.  he  doesn’t  even  shy  away  from  the  kiss  being  placed  against  his  forehead,    the  man  knowing  to  be  ignorant  of  joseph’s  senseless  comments,    and  give  him  the  affection  he’d  often  push  away.    it  wasn’t  just  the  goodbye  that  had  him  feeling  sentimental,    but  everything,    his  journey,     the  final  closure  for  their  family,     all  of  it.     he  never  understood  jonathan’s  consistent  and  firm  tutelage  over  him  as  a  boy,    but  now,    maybe  he  finally  understood  those  values  he’d  tried  to  teach  him.     maybe  joseph  just  had  to  experience  it  first  hand  to  actually  grasp  what  they  meant  for  him.

he  has  to  wonder  if  this  whole  show  was  necessary,     though  perhaps  that’s  simply  the  moments  fluster  creeping  up  on  him,    stubbornly  ignoring  the  fact  that  he’d  lingered  in  the  memory  of  her  lips  pressing  against  his  cheek.     had  he  known  any  better,    he  might  have  thought  her  actions  to  be  flirtatious,     though  he  wasn’t  that  much  of  a  fool   -------   if  anything,    it  reminded  him  more  of  the  affection  shown  to  him  from  his  grandmother.    maybe,     that  just  made  the  gesture  more  meaningful.

 ❛     i   know  that.    i  do.     maybe  that’s  why  i  find  myself  worrying.    ❜     it’s  a  rather  sombre  moment  for  the  boy  who’d  always  run  his  mouth,    so  arrogant  and  overly  courageous   --------   that  light  within  his  soul  losing  spark,     as  pain  instead  replaced  his  confident  persona.    he  sighs  heavily,    running  a  hand  through  his  long  bangs,      his  posture  not  as  slack  as  he’d  wished  it  be.     it  should  be  comforting  to  hear  that,     but  it  wasn’t.     the  joestars  didn’t  have  a  good  run,     that  was  their  legacy.     even  if  his  grandfather  avoided  it,      it  only  seemed  to  pass  down  onto  the  next  generation,    and  even  then    ...    was  his  time  short  also ?    hamon  aside,     age  and  misfortune  could  sneak  up  on  you  when  you  least  expect.
