“Mhmm what time is it?” Mamoru was still rather groggy as he walked out of his bedroom in search of Usagi. Normally he would feel lit when she slipped out form under the covers, but he clearly had been far more exhausted than he originally thought from the battle the day before.

Once he had successfully rubbed some of the sleep out of his eyes, he moved to wrap his arms around Usagi, seeing out the warmth that had left his bed far too soon. “Is everything alright?” he asked softly, placing a gentle kiss to the top of her head, his sleep deprived brain still very much on auto pilot.

“How has she been holding up? Truly...” He knew that Usagi didn’t always tell him everything, always determined to handle every burden on her own if she could, and though she was incredibly capable.. still he worried, he wanted to help ease her burden, and he figured if anyone knew a place to start, it would be Rei.

He had saw the blast a second too late, and knew that there was no chance of him being able to dodge or even counter attack. All Mamoru could really do was close his eyes and wait for the sheering pain and yet it never came. He dared to open his eyes, only to find that it Usagi had jumped in between him and the blast. His stomach dropped as the realization washed over him. "Usako!!"

Sheer panic began to set in as he grabbed for her, hoping that the blast hadn't been a fatal one, he couldn't loose her again. Not again! It always felt like every time they get one another back they are violently ripped apart by fate, and he wasn't prepared in the slightest to loose her again. His hands were gently as he wrapped around her, eyes frantically scanning for injuries.

"W-why would you do that?!" He knew the answer but couldn't stop himself from asking anyways.

“What exactly are you up to?” He hadn’t meant to sneak up behind her, but there he was. He couldn’t help but be drawn in and curious as to whatever it was she seemed to be doing, clearly she couldn’t be up to any good.

Mamoru’s heart was pounding in his chest as he tried to get a grip on his surroundings and shake the nightmare all at the same time. At the sound of the bedroom door opening, he had jumped and immediately on the defensive. Though the moment he heard Usagi’s voice his hands dropped back to his sides and he manage to relax.. if only just a little.

“Usako?..” he managed, still desperately trying to push the horrors he had seen in his dreams to the back of his mind, all while hoping that they were only dreams and not premonitions of what was to come. Finally blinking a few times, he was able to fully look at her and confirm that it was in fact her. “I-is everything alright?” he managed, running a hand through his hair.

“A Swan? Really?” Sure he had heard about geese going around and attacking people, but this was the first time he had ever heard of a swan attack. He hummed softly, trying to imagine such a sight, and there was a part of him that was almost tempted to laugh, but he managed to hold it in. “Well.. I hope he managed to escape unscathed. Where were you while this was all happening?”
