An art gallery seemed almost too normal to introduce into a city like this.
But normal was almost abnormal at this point. Maybe he’d have somewhat of a chance to enjoy the exhibits but...he couldn’t help himself - taking notes was still a natural thing to do in such an unexpected situation. Something could be off about the paintings or the sculptures or...
...or maybe it was just a normal museum. With magical tools that could let you create anything. But a normal museum, none the less. Ballrooms, painting areas, doll crafting zones...a hedge and sculpture garden. That one honestly seemed the most interesting, so it was that way he went.
Though what he didn’t expect was someone who looked like they didn’t know how to use a chainsaw attempting to go at a block of marble.

It took him a minute, to really recognize the person standing across the road from him.
Really, he only spared them a brief gaze before turning back to his notebook, but something compelled him to look back. Out of everyone from home he had seen so far...this was perhaps the largest change in people he had seen. Last he remembered...Jiro Yamada was barely in high school the last he saw him, still short and a younger teenager.
The person across from him had to be Jiro, but...he was taller. Looked more mature, more grown up. Just like Ichiro had - but with a bit more intensity to it. Something strange was definitely going on here and he still had no idea what it was. He hadn’t heard anything about why everyone was looking different...
He’d just have to look into it more.
For now...it’d probably be best to go over to the other, right? Maybe he was lost - or at the very least, it could work in vice-versa and they could help each other get around.
Tumblr media
“Ah...Jiro?” The teen began after crossing the road, holding out an arm to get the other’s attention. “Sorry, you might not remember me all too well - we’ve only met once before. I’m Yotsutsuji...Jakurai’s son? I just didn’t expect to see you here - it seems like a lot of people from home are showing up.”

Sasara Nurude.
Yotsutsuji recognized the man as soon as he entered his field of view. The comedian looked different than what he remembered, certainly, but that seemed to be a trend here with people from his world, and he wasn’t quite sure why. Someone was bound to tell him eventually, or maybe they had all been in this world for longer than he realized.
He had never spoken to Sasara before - he had planned on it once, but was quickly sidetracked - but he did his research on Mad Comic Dialogue...both before and after they teamed up with the Naughty Busters.
Mad Comic Dialogue was Samatoki’s - and Ichiro’s, technically speaking - former group before joining with the Dirty Dawg. He was familiar with both of them - and Samatoki’s sister, Nemu, who often hung out with the former members of Mad Comic Dialogue - but he had never gotten to know Sasara and Kuko.
Things...happened. Suddenly, and without an explanation. Sasara went back to his comedy career and Kuko...well, he thinks Kuko went back to Nagoya, but he wasn’t sure. He had never had the kind of information on Kuko that he had on Sasara. It was strange that it happened so specifically after Ramuda ( or, another Ramuda ) had took out the people they were supposed to battle.
Maybe he’d have an opportunity to ask why Mad Comic Dialogue split up now.

“Pardon me, but...you’re Nurude-san yes? The comedian?”

"I still find it amazing how many dishes they have here...”
Star Trail, as Yotsutsuji had found out it was called, was still one of the more confusing locations here. Perhaps, it wasn’t as odd as that park with the dogs that had tablets for heads, or as the city with a canyon running through it, but an endless-seeming walkway selling foods from across worlds was...hard to imagine.
He had a lot of questions about it - how did they make all the food? How did they know how to make things that weren’t common recipes? Did a new shop just magically appear every time someone from a new world got pulled here? He had never made it to the end of the trail, so he had no idea... - but he wasn’t here to try and get answers today.
No, today he was here with someone he had managed to befriend, just so they could chat while trying some of the foods. Honestly, a break from all his exploring and note-taking would be good.

It was an inconvenience that his leg had chosen now, of all times, to give out on him. It wasn’t anything he wasn’t used to, sure, but it was an annoyance nonetheless. Years of physical therapy and walking around to find himself with proper footing could still crumble apart with the right stimuli.
Like a poorly placed rock he stumbled on while walking around, twisting his ankle as he fell over.
Normally, he could rely on someone else when this happened, but he didn’t exactly know anyone in this new world. He’d just have to wait it out a little - wait for the numbing sensation he felt instead of pain to subside, so he could make his way home.
But it sounded like someone was approaching, so...maybe it wouldn’t be too bad to ask them for help. “...hello? Is someone over there?”

Well, being woken up in the middle of the night for an emergency wasn’t anything new to Yotsutsuji. It was routine, of the years he had worked and lived in military hospitals alongside Jakurai. For both drills and due to being in actual danger - these sorts of announcements were more familiar than they should have been, for anyone his age.
But it seemed like this was more of a training drill than anything else. An optional one, but the term “optional” seemed to be a little...loose. So, he headed down to one of the "safe zones” nearby, giving him the option to select a task from the terminal and arm himself.
...he had never needed to use a weapon before, but he’d likely need to defend himself. He didn’t want to hurt anyone - so...a taser seemed like a fine option, right? It wouldn’t severely injure anyone, but it’d still stun them enough for him to be safe.
So, with the weapon in hand, he moved over to the terminal...though stopped in his tracks when he recognized the person already scrolling through the tasks they could accept.

“Oh...Ichiro! I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised to see you out here, huh...? These kinds of tasks seem right up your alley...”

It almost felt like he was back in Shinjuku here.
...almost.
Yotsutsuji had found himself looking into the first ward in Spirale today, which just looking at it was already an adventure in itself. A large, winding canyon with large skyscrapers built around it...and...in it?
While the skyscrapers were a familiar sight, they were definitely more futuristic than he was used to seeing. Especially the more he went into the city. It felt almost too sleek and surreal, but that’s what made it appealing too. The buildings were a lot more jam-packed with one another. Far too much, in certain spots.
So even if the more advanced technology was interesting...it would probably be better to explore around the outskirts, where it wasn’t as busy. And that lead to...a more mechanical looking area, but that was just as interesting. Probably because it looked more like it was supposed to be a neighborhood, with houses and various little shops.
It was cute, but what he really didn’t expect was for one more similarity to pop out in the form of familiar pink hair. Sure, he wasn’t wearing his usual hat or outfit but...that was definitely him, right...?
Well, there was one way to find out. Even if he was still suspicious of him...it was best to talk to the people he knew in this situation.

A library in the middle of the woods...was probably one of the strangest things he had seen thus far. Honestly, he had thought it to be a castle at first, but upon entering the building it was evident that the building served an entirely different purpose.
Streams, flowers, and even a large fountain with fairies floating nearby - the whole thing felt straight out of a picture book his parents read to him as a child. Straight out of some fantasy books he read on his own in the past few years, even. But this went to show that magic and other similar things were absolutely real in this world.
...he’d need more notebooks soon, to keep track of everything.
For now, though, he’d be a fool if he wasted time looking at everything inside the library but the books. Most of them seemed to worn down to properly read, but in scanning over them, Yotsutsuji managed to acquire at least a decently sized stack of the books that were legible. Most of them seemed to document nature but...even that could be useful - especially in this ward, based on what he had seen of it so far.
The only problem now was actually getting these books somewhere he could sit and read them all. Maybe he had grabbed too many? Still, there was no point in putting some back now if he was planning on reading them all anyways, so the teen did his best to arrange them in his arms before starting to walk. But given he couldn’t really see...he wasn’t all too surprised when he managed to bump into someone, books spilling out of his arms and onto the floor.

“Ah, sorry-! I grabbed more than I probably should have...are you alright?”

The obvious next step after finding his room was...exploring. Given how large this city seemed, it was going to take awhile to see everything there was to see. It was going to be most efficient to explore city segment by city segment, starting with the one he was housed in.
And so far...it was a pretty lively place, almost reminiscent of home. Well, minus it being right by the ocean, but still! It felt kind of like walking around Shinjuku...actually, maybe it was a bit closer to Yokohama with all of the ocean-side attractions?
Today, his search for information brought him down to The Boardwalk, something closer to the edge so he could work from the outside in. And, well...amusement parks weren’t really Yotsutsuji’s style, but it all seemed pretty fun! And you never knew - unassuming places could hold the most information sometimes.
...honestly, though, this just seemed like a completely normal amusement park. Minimal notes were taken - just listing down all the different things that were available to do - and nothing substantial was gained. But, even no information was useful for things like this.
Yotsutsuji opted to head for the exit of the park, but stopped and turned back around once he was almost out, following after a pack of people that had just entered. Because...there was no way that he had just come in...right?
It couldn’t be. He looked...too different from how he remembered him looking. But that heterochromia...it was too unique to him for it to be someone else. So, the teen followed after him for a moment and waited for them to reach an area where the crowd thinned out before speaking up.

While he hadn’t really wanted to...it was pretty apparent that his only choice moving forward was to climb into that strange car by the hole he woke up next to and allow it to drive him to...well, wherever this new segment of the city was. It was pretty flashy, which was actually kind of nice since it resembled Shinjuku in that way.
He couldn’t do much in the car other than keep himself calm, though he made sure to grab both the pamphlet and the cellphone sitting on the seats before he got out.
Apartment buildings...likely where he’d be staying. The cellphone seemed like it could only access a large list of contacts ( he’d look through that later ) and the pamphlet explained some things, but not enough for his liking.
Yotsutsuji sighed lightly and shifted to place both of these new items into his shoulder bag before pulling out the new - and frankly, adorable - notebook that had been tucked inside. He’d have to start some new notes, but that worked in his favor. He’d probably need several notebooks to record everything he spotted around here...
Tumblr media
Yet, in his search for a pen inside his bag, his attention was pulled by something else. Something familiar, despite the circumstances...though a little different than he remembered, at the same time.
The only way to find out if that passing-by figure was truly who he thought it was would be...
“Excuse me...!” The teen’s voice carried out, feet beginning to carry him in the direction of that purple-grey hair.

Well...the first thing that was evident was that he wasn’t in Shinjuku anymore. And that certainly shouldn’t have been the case.
The last thing Yotsutsuji recalled was...falling asleep at the kitchen table while working on some notes for Jakurai. The man had been pretty busy battling alongside the other Dirty Dawg members, so he figured it’d probably be best to lend a hand where he could.
But now...this was a whole new city and...well, emphasis on the whole. Or rather, the hole. There was a massive, gaping hole in the ground right next to where he woke up, which was really concerning. Looking in...made his head spin, so he figured it was best to avoid doing that. Still...waking up in a new place with this massive hole nearby...maybe he could start piecing together an idea about what had happened from that alone?
Or, he would have, if something else didn’t draw his attention.
Taking another glance around, it seemed like he wasn’t the only one waking up near by, or taking interest in the hole. But...that one man seemed awfully too interested in it. Like he was about to fall in if he took another few steps.
...actually, he wasn’t stopping. He’d absolutely fall in if he took another step or two.
“A-Ah...excuse me-!”
Tumblr media
Yotsutsuji rushed over, carefully wrapping a hand around the man’s arm to pull him back a step. He was careful, not wanting to startle him too much if something was wrong.
“Sorry for grabbing you, but...please be careful, I don’t want you to fall down that hole...”
