         Oh... he was so endearing when he would play with Muyang.  Currently, he’s fluttering about in one of his many forms  --  having shape-shifted into a butterfly to get the young half-celestial to chase him across and around the room.  It was good for his health, he’d probably say, it’s great exercise for his growing muscles !

         And, of course, with time comes the eventual exhaustion after running around like a wind-up toy.  Toddler had, instead of letting himself be carried to his crib, insisted that he could still play.  Wukong had decided, in all his creative glory, to make a pillow fort  --  though Iron Fan is certain the tot doesn’t fully understand what that is, he seemed to share his father’s excitement in the idea.  It wouldn’t be long before she, too, would be dragged into their game. 

         She sits, and she watches as the tailed toddler drools on his mini-throne made of cushions, comfortable among his plethora of stuffed animal subjects.  It’s a glance at the great and powerful monkey king that, initially, shouldn’t have caught her off-guard as much as it had.  His golden gaze is heartachingly tender, a clawed hand carefully pushing back some of Muyang’s bi-colored hair from his dribbling face.  His smile, ever-present, is not one of mockery or the joy of witnessing another’s comeuppance.  

         No.  The grin that the great monkey king proudly wears is that of pure, unbridled mirth as he gazes lovingly at his heir.  Iron Fan’s heart flutters at his shameless expression of love  --  and at the same time, it hurts, having that ignited feeling been there before, but thought to have been extinguished long ago.  He feeds her remaining embers with his devotion ; to her and their son.  

         Raven-haired beauty takes the quickest glance down at his unoccupied hand, empty and used for support when he sits.  Should she ?  She wants to, but... well, since when was she one to hesitate ?

         Her own hand nudges toward his, and it’s when he says that phrase that pushes her to take action.  It may be small, but even the most miniscule actions can speak louder than a thousand words.  Hushed but with warmth, she addresses the simian as her pinky moves to lightly curl and rest on his. 

   ❝ i think i’d like that, too. ❞

   ❝ oh noooo, ❞  The matron coos without a smidgen of concern, tidying the knot at his front that keeps his cape secure with her signature aloofness.  ❝ how absolutely unfortunate.. for you, i mean. ❞

         Iron Fan is allowed to be a little cheeky herself, every now and then.  It’s another one of Wukong’s drop-ins, surprising her less and less the more frequent his visits become.  The princess is no longer annoyed by his presence  --  and, in an odd turn of events, has found him to be entertaining company.  Her son is much less thrilled about the monkey’s growing visits, but seeing as how he is now under the guidance of the same deity as the monkey king once had, he can’t say much given his own absence. 

   ❝ your visit is well-timed, though. i have important news, and it involves you. ❞
