"Count on Eira?" Aeron hasn't really considered the ways he relies on his sister. Maybe give him perspective when it came to romance, even if it sounded kinda dumb to him. But he wasn't going to admit that. So- "To make something edible, I guess."

"Come on, I make things a little better than edible at least."

"Sometimes." He's a picky eater. He's kind of messing with her, but kind of serious.

Eira frowned at that. "Yeah well I can do it better than you can."

"Whatever." He couldn't really fight that. "I guess I wouldn't ask her for help with getting somewhere though. Her driving is pretty rough."

"For the last time, it was a tight turn! And it was just a bit of the curb. Leave me alone."

Things That Aeron Likes That Aren't Dinosaurs Or Piano

Lions. His favorite movie as a kid was L.ion K.ing before J.urassic P.ark.

S.cooby-D.oo. He went through a phase of wanting a dog but of course his dad said no. S.cooby is his favorite. He doesn't care about mysteries or solving them in particular. It was just his favorite out of the cartoons running.

Video games. Not really into the modern, plot heavy, intricate game play type. His favorite is G.alaga. And he's good at it. Wasted plenty of his dad's quarters. One of the few things they bonded over. He would purposely ask to play as a way to have a nice time with his dad.

Basketball. He doesn't give a shit about watching. He just wanted to play in middle school but no one took him to practice.

P.okémon. Never owned a game until he grew up and bought it himself. Whatever cards he got, he bummed off of friends or bought with stolen allowance from his mother.

“Most embarrassing moment in high school?” Her brows furrowed as she repeated it back. Eira sped through all her embarrassing memories, including not in high school even. Eventually she settled on one. Running into her ex boyfriend with his new varsity cheerleader girlfriend. ...That’s probably not what they’re asking for, right?

“Um... One time... I went into the wrong classroom? I mean, I had that class. I just, forgot about the class before it. It was the teacher’s free period so they thought something was wrong.” Well something was wrong. “It was pretty awkward. I had to run to the other class before the bell.”

“Talking to people because they’re so fucking nosy,” he retorted. Indeed, talking to people was a chore but really the worst for him was probably the dishes. Aeron had a habit of letting them pile up until he was forced to stand there and wash them. It was hard on his back. The rest of his body didn't enjoy it much either.

『 ☆ 』 ~ A thought. Aeron is very much a 0 to 100 kind of guy. Something can just set him off and the intensity is just through the roof. Then there's Tripp who is just 100 constantly. Yet they both run on empty just the same.

Aeron's theme is his struggle to be comfortable and maintain it.

Obviously his emotional struggle for trust, to let someone in, to be comfortable with being vulnerable.

But more than that. The aches in his body. His poor health because he struggles to take care of himself. I wonder if it's because "if no one else cared to, why should I? I'm still alive."

His smoking habit, purposely making himself uncomfortable to find comfort.

He's so uncomfortable.

Even when he finds the comfort he needs in someone, there's still a guarded edge. The second it goes wrong, it's like a smack in the face. A reminder. "I forgot to lean out. I need to lean out." Translates to "I forgot I can't feel comfortable with someone." He'll go back to what he knows. What he's comfortable with. Dealing with the uncomfortable isolation. He'll lean out of the relationship. If they no longer have a hold on him, he will not be hurt later. He will not be hurt, he will not be uncomfortable by their absence.

Except he is.

He's so uncomfortable.

By the absence. By the emptiness.

He's so uncomfortable. He's so tired.

His back was aching so he was lying on his stomach on top of his bed. Couldn't be bothered to get under the blanket. It was warm anyway.

Surprisingly awake, he just laid there. But the silence only lasted so long.

His mind wandered to Gwen. It'd been a couple of months or so, since breaking up with her.

She just called it quits one day. They weren't going anywhere, and she had plans for her life. Big plans. And he just wasn't making himself a part of them.

They hadn't been dating long but... It'd been nice.

He tried. He tried not to get mad like he did. He tried to keep his cool. He tried to be better than he was. Take care of himself the way she encouraged him to. He wanted to be good for this. Maybe not for her. He wasn't in love. This wasn't the girl that changed him. But he wanted to be good when he's been so wrong for so long. When he's been so wrong and lost the love of his life probably. He wanted to be good for something good in his life for once.

He tried for more time but the whole thing unraveled, slipped through his fingers.

He felt his anger rise at the memory. So what? He didn't fit into her plans, so she'll stop caring about him? Still want to be friends. He scoffed to himself. Yeah. She'll still be his friend. Sure. He huffed and deliberately face planted into his pillow with a grunt. His hands gripped at the fabric of his blanket.

He was so mad. She was a nice girl and betrayed his heart, his trust, this way. Dropping him when he wasn't what he'd never been. He'd never led her on with being more than what he was. Why didn't she figure it out before it all that he wasn't what she wanted? It's been staring her in the face this whole time.

Why had he put all this genuine effort to avoid this if only to end up here anyway? Why did he let her in?

He forgot to lean out.

📚 What was their favorite subjects in school/studies?

Aeron - Science. It was always the fun part of the class for him. ...Assuming lunch doesn't count. He didn't really like school in general. He hated all the teachers and they hated him. He was a difficult kid after all.

Eira - Reading. But only the reading bit. The actual school part, comprehension, vocabulary, etc. was boring.

🍗 Were they a picky eater? Is there anything they refused to eat?

Aeron - Picky like he'll only eat Dino shaped chicken nuggets but not, as in he would likely just eat whatever he was given usually because complaining would get him in trouble anyway. Can't say he was ever a fan of leafy greens even when he pretended to be an herbivore dinosaur, especially Spinach. Also watery vegetables like cucumber and celery weren't favorites either. If it's green, the chances of him wanting to eat it was pretty slim.

Eira - She got to be a bit more openly picky with her food. She didn't like carrots, not even with ranch. She didn't like onion or radish, whatever that was “spicy”. Once she ate a pepper thinking it was bell pepper but it was very much not so she lost trust in all pepper looking veggies and refused to eat any.

🏰 What was their favorite childhood story?

Aeron - W.here T.he W.ild T.hings A.re. Kid gets in trouble, has a crazy adventure, and comes home to still be loved? Perfect for a kid that tends to get in trouble. He’s not much for getting read to as much as Eira but it was still his favorite to come back to when he did.

Eira - C.orduroy. A cute little teddy bear looking for a button and a little girl just like her with a satisfying ending. She would ask for it almost every night. She even has a matching bear that her favorite babysitter gifted to her.

Okay so this song reminds me a lot of that flashback bit in H.emlock G.rove where Dr. C.hasseur kills a werewolf as part of her initiation to become part of The Order. So following that:

An AU where a society of hunters of the supernatural are secretly part of a college academy. There is another academy which the hunter students attend before this one, training to be hunters. Then they arrive here for the ultimate test. The other students are a mix of humans and unknowing supernatural beings. The hunter students must correctly distinguish the non-humans from the humans and kill them. It's a bit of a race to see how many you can get to be "valedictorian". But there are also real consequences such as needing to cover up with a story to avoid suspicion and a misjudgment that kills a human. All this while keeping up in regular classes and night classes for the hunters.

Eira Angelina - Hunter. Is actually a chimera ( think S.helley from the show since Angelina hadn't survived in the main verse. Here, she was not Aeron's twin and was revived ) which enhances her hunting skills but has gone undetected for the time being. Freshman.

Aeron - Hunter. Not top of his class or anything but he's effective. Sophomore. Gets bitten by a werewolf or something and has to survive the rest of the his time at the academy.

Oliver - Human. Ex-hunter trainee. Dropped out of previous academy after an accident. Still ended up at the same academy because he wanted to be part of research instead. Junior.

Lorelei - Hunter. Human/Succubus. Majority human. Supernatural part unknown. Witness to a hunter killing a vampire as a child and was placed into the academy. She struggles to learn and prefers not to anyway. Sophomore.

Tripp - Hunter. Son to famous hunter. Older brother overshadows him as a hunter. Can be quite effective but he also tends to jump to conclusions too quickly. Sophomore.

Current situation - Occupation, living situation, and fragment persona

Eira Melody - Diner waitress. Lives with Ryne and Drew in an apartment. Ryne moved into Drew's room so Eira could have his. She's working on moving out.

Angel - Believes in the cause. Sees people as weak and wants to contribute to making them better. Even if it means eliminating some in a "the strongest survive". She looks forward to Armageddon. The day people will be set free from their weakness. - She awakens routinely once a month to "exercise" or battle with some of the mutants being kept at True North. Sometimes Tourniquet if he's there. In the event of a competitor take down, she is strategy, navigator, and defense.

Aeron Frostbite Finn - Underground fighter / mutant trafficker. Apartment / motel. Moves around. Lone wolf. - Believed in the cause because he thought he was one of the strongest and he was helping others to be like him to save them from weakness. But he saw through it all. He saw they were just weapons. However, when he is reconditioned, his memories become jumbled. There is an instinctive distrust of Angel and Kit but he remains compliant. When he loses his inhibitor ring is lost, he's finally able to piece together some memories. He goes his own way until he seeks revenge on his father in hopes of finding some better way of surviving, only to be reconditioned once again. A more permanent tracker is installed and he's forced to become a mutant trafficker since he had become familiar with the underground fighting rings. Returning to his old state of mind, this is of no issue to him. - In the event of a competitor take down, he and Lorelei take the brunt of the enemies.

Oliver Gabriel - Mutant gang puppet. Apartment. They have video evidence of him reappearing in the middle of a robbery. ( Thank you Bucky for helping me! )

Tourniquet - Believes in the cause as a way of becoming fearless, which helps them become better people of society, to help others. Armageddon eliminates the people who will not be good people to society because they choose to live in fear. - He is awakened by Angel on occasion for "exercise" or training. If he awakens on his own, he returns to the Institute for evaluation. In the event of a competitor take down, he stands by with Angel or engages as the surprise attack or extractor.

Lorelei / Scorpion - H.ydra puppet. Moves around too much. Works at bars for her regular job and trash collection as part of mutant outreach, which keeps her informed on other mutants of political power. - Believes in the cause because it's what made her, keeps her under control. It's an anchor. A place to belong. And she'll protect it with everything she has. When she's not pretending to be an average mutant, she's gathering intelligence or similar tasks as ordered by her handler or training. In the event of a competitor take down, she and Finn take the brunt of the enemies.

*Note: Fragment personas doesn't care too much about muse's life outside of survival and preserving their cause. They find it to be petty human stuff. This fact is especially important for Eira/Angel and Oliver/Kit.
