obviously, it goes without saying that dancer juyeon was impressed by all of danceracha at first. however, minho was the one that really stood out to her.

and for good reason! minho’s past as a backup dancer showed in the practice room and it caught the attention of not only juyeon but chan as well.

after seeing him only a handful of times, bangju agreed that he would be a valuable member to their growing team and subsequently chased him down after practice one day (poor guy) before nearly coercing him into meeting the rest of their group, as minho was the last to join jyp’s trainee program

of course, minho was welcomed with open arms and a strong friendship was built in the small window between him becoming a trainee and the beginning of the survival show

but, as reminisced by hoyeon on an episode of 2 kids room, minho inadvertently hurt juyeon’s feelings very early into their friendship. it was just a little joke, albeit a little pointed as it came from minho, but juyeon totally took it personally and her feelings were very hurt.

from her perspective, his joke on her behalf was not for him to laugh with her but at her. she left this interaction visibly upset and wondered if minho was actually a mean person and they just hadn’t realized until now.

but minho was/is not a bad guy! his intentions were not to hurt her feelings, and he was quick to pull her aside the next day and apologize to her.

at this point, neither of them can remember the joke, so it’s safe to say that this incident was cleared up quickly, and minho has since adjusted the way he interacts with her.

he is still totally himself, but he’s learned how to phrase things in a sweeter way for her while throwing her under the bus at the same time ㅋㅋ

juyeon has also gotten much better at understanding his ways and often reciprocates the loving teases

hwang hyunjin + kang juyeon ♡ jinju (pearl)

ship popularity: 7/8

hyunjin is actually one of the only members that juyeon sees as a brother as well as a friend.

but brother first. (=´∀｀)人(´∀｀=)

this likely stems from their defining dynamic predebut where she consistently scolded him and jisung for fighting.

according to what members have said over the years, it was a common occurrence for her to stop practice to pull them both outside for a moment and return with their tails tucked between their legs.

and even after jisung and hyunjin fixed their relationship, juyeon remained an older sister figure to jinnie. she pushed him hard and held high standards for his capabilities, which she has since apologized for as she didn’t put much focus into being his friend.

but a long time has passed since this point, and they have found a good balance between friends and siblings, even though they’re technically the only child in their family.

juyeon remains somewhat of a mentor to him and a big motivator for his growth. in return he lets her steal his clothes sometimes and every sunday they take turns doing something they each want to do together. they call this “bonding time”.

another one of the members who can get her riled up. give him 5 minutes and you’ll think she took a shot of something. coffee? soju? windex? who knows.

always trying to one up each other in choreographies. if not they’re trying to mess each other up.

prior to meeting billie and the rest of stray kids, felix was having quite a hard time in korea. not only the culture shocks he was experiencing, but as we know, his korean was quite lacking as well. during this time he was very overwhelmed and felt totally isolated, especially when surrounded by fellow trainees.

in a backwards sort of way, this rough period for felix is actually how juyeon got to know him. had he arrived to korea fluent it’s likely the history of stray kids would not be the same.

after going to the jyp cafeteria at an irregular time she saw a boy with a dark cloud over his head sat all by himself. she didn’t have the heart to just get her food and go, and instead she decided to ask to sit with him.

at first he apologized, and then asked her to repeat herself, and his cadence alone was enough for her to realize that he was a foreigner. because of this, juyeon utilized her fluency in english to communicate with him and later helped a lot with translating what he wanted to say back to korean.

it was their first meeting that she learned he was from australia, and she called chan instantly to help offer friendship and a little bit of home to this sad little guy. chan was obviously on his way before she could say where they were, and as they say, the rest is history ~

juyeon’s warmth toward felix quickly made her a shoulder to lean on, and if not chan, felix was always next to her for moral support

for a long while, maybe until around my pace era, they had daily study sessions where they could help further one another’s foreign language skills. felix taught her a lot of english slang, her favorite being “the bees knees” as it just makes no sense.

and unlike members like jisung and minho, felix and juyeon have never had any beef whatsoever. since day one they have been besties and their connection is always harmonious and easy.

but to be fair, who can dislike felix? bffr.

not a super popular ship within the stay community but certainly an important one!
