“PEOPLE OH THE PEOPLE”

♜. Rodion invited the pawnbroker over for tea. Rodion complained to the woman about a cockroach problem seemingly from the attic. The pawnbroker lamented on how the building’s value deteriorated ever since the “aliens” moved in.

“WITH BIGGER BELLIES BANGING BIGGER DRUMS”

♕. The pawnbroker looked out the attic window. Believing she was alone, the pawnbroker talked to herself. She spoke about how she was nearing the end. What would her money go to? She had no close relatives. She decided to pass on her things to some cousin. The woman left the building.

“THEY BEAT DOWN ON YOU. THEY BEAT THE PULSE INTO YOUR SHOES”

♛. The pawnbroker went home a week after. She closed her curtains shut and treated herself to a bath.

“SHOES ARE MADE FOR WALKING YOU TO LANDS AND OTHER SEAS”

♜x♕. Rodion forced her way into the building. She approached woman. The pawnbroker was frozen in shock. She couldn’t even scream. Rodion lodged a fire axe straight into the pawnbroker’s skull and left. No one had to know.

“SEE THOSE SEAS, OH, SEE THOSE SEAS”

♜♗♗♗. The brunette got out of the scene unscathed, but she was surrounded by talk of the pawnbroker’s death. It followed her everywhere she went. But no one suspected her. Rodion ran away from the rumors. Somehow, they always found their way to her.
