When Draco had walked into the prefects bathroom, it was empty. Not even Myrtle was hanging around, which he appreciated because last thing he wanted was the ghost to see him naked. So after he started the bath and added some bubbles, he began stripping. Once he was completely naked, he moved to get into the tub but stopped when he heard a noise behind him. Quickly turning to see what it was then his eyes widened when his icy hues locked on familiar brown. Didn't even bother covering himself as he quirked an eyebrow, lips curving into a smirk slightly. ❝Excuse me, this bathroom is currently occupied Princess. So do you mind Granger, unless you plan on just staring at me in all my pride and glory...❞

Lips parting slightly as his eyebrows furrowed, inhaling and exhaling as the male let the silence linger for a bit. Could easily ask was what true but in a way, Draco already knew what Lena was talking about. Had heard the sneers from people who had recognized him, despite him not currently being in the wizardry world. But then again she could be talking about anything really, since whose to say she heard any of it. So really it was a fifty - fifty chance of him making a fool of himself and the male wasn't exactly thrilled about that. ❝That's honestly a matter of perspective because really what the truth may be to one person, it could be different for another.❞ Malfoy stated before sighing. ❝But would you like to clarify on is what true?❞

Ah, there is was. The reason why Malfoy had completely stopped thinking straight, the treat on his family and his own life looming over him. Theo was positive that would make anyone lose their minds, how could they not? And Nott felt for Draco, he really did but for fuck sakes. ❝I'm so fucking sorry Draco, having that threat linger over your head isn't fair. It has to be a bloody nightmare but still you will never be that person or he would already be dead, so you need all the help you can get.❞ The male stated, there was a hint of desperation his tone as he tried to get through to the male. ❝And you should know this Malfoy, even if you do manage to succeed, it doesn't mean that he won't kill you. After all he doesn't give a rats ass about his followers, just about himself and achieving his goal.❞ Maybe that was a bit harsh but it was the cold, bitter truth. Yet the Slytherin would rather the male survive this, even if it left him traumatized in the end. At least that was better than not having his best friend around at all.

Yet at the Slytherin's next words, Theodore was tempted to bail on him and let him suffer the cold harsh reality that was waiting for him alone because Malfoy was too bloody stubborn for his own good. Instead Theo pushed Draco up against the closest wall and got into his face. ❝Bloody fuckin' hell mate, will you shut the fuck up? You do realize, I could fucking ruin it all for you right now, say fuck you and your family. All I have to do is talk to the right person and you'd be in Azkaban before you even realize that I betrayed you. Yet I'm risking a lot to help your ass out because I'm fucking loyal to my best friend, who rather just push me away than to accept it. Which for your information I don't have to do that killing, I can leave it up to you but helping you find a way to succeed, I could do that. But fine, I'll fuck off and leave it alone if you bloody want. Just don't expect me to pity you when you fail. But I can guarantee you Malfoy, what he wants in the end is Dumbledore dead cause he knows he can't do it himself.❞

draco glares at theo with as much sharp irritation as his bloodshot eyes could muster. it was clear to him that theo didn't get it, more so when he shares how he'd prefer the dark lord drop dead. draco wishes he could say sentiments like that freely, and the jealousy has his temper bubbling over. "i have to be! i need to kill him, or the dark lord's going to kill me — my family, and i can't—" draco cuts himself off, his hands shaking. the pressure of his mission weighed heavily on him, and he shoves his fists into his pockets to avoid theo's observant eyes. "you can't help me, nott. get that into your thick skull. it has to be me. that's what he wants, and you interfering isn't going to help anyone. so fuck off and leave it alone."

The Slytherin had honestly just been minding his own business, ignoring practically everyone. Was more than aware of certain whispers that was spreading around, how could he not be? He wasn't deaf and despite seeming zoned out, he's paid somewhat enough attention. But with what's been going on, he just didn't care to snap back. Yet when the Hufflepuff startled him, Draco couldn't help but to snap at her with insults. Though when she snapped back, that had surprised him into silence before his laughter broke the silence that lingered for a little bit. And oh how her next choice of words, only made the corners of his lips curve upwards in a sharp smile. ❝An angel finally got some bite to her, what a surprising twist.❞ Malfoy remarked. ❝But the problem is, I don't buy it so let’s hear one morе joke.❞ Draco knew that war changes people, how could it not? But he truly didn't see her changing, however it wasn't like they were ever friends so what would he know? Nothing.

When Draco saw Harry at the Quidditch cup, there was no way he could have known what would happen afterwards. How chaotic it would have gotten, how death eaters would ruin what was supposed to be an fun event. But it wasn’t completely clueless, he knew his father was most likely among them. He was just glad that he didn’t have to witness it, although he did hear rumors about what happened to the chosen one. 

But Malfoy forgot all about the rumors when he learned about the Triwizard Tournament, excited for this school year. Excited to see who would be chosen as the champion and which school will win, excited to make new friends. He almost wanted to enter, to prove his wasn’t a coward and to make his father proud. So when Dumbledore announced an age restriction, he was disappointed but relieved.

Up until the school was gathered to see who was chosen, the male couldn’t stop talking about who he thought would be chosen, which school would win, and what the challenges would be. He couldn’t wait but he kept his cool, since he obviously had an reputation to uphold. And when the three champions was picked, he wanted to brag about being right. However that was ruin when all of a sudden the goblet lit up again and choose another name, which given the look on the professors’ faces - it shouldn’t have happened. 

The moment Dumbledore called Potter’s name, the Slytherin’s heart stopped for a moment. What in Merlin’s name was this bullshit? How the male had managed to get pass the age limit restricted spell was beyond him. Yet as he glared at the Gryffindor, he instantly doubted the other had anything to do with it by the look on his face. But who did then? Probably someone whom had no good intentions.

A quick glance around, told him enough. People weren’t happy with this turn of events, which Malfoy couldn’t say he blamed them since this was ridiculous. He almost felt bad for all the dirty looks the other was getting, although a snicker escaping his throat at Potter being called a cheat. Especially at people saying he wasn’t seventeen yet as if it wasn’t obvious, honestly could they be anymore dense? 

It wasn’t til they were free to leave, that Draco broke the silence. Discussing the turn of events with his friends as he made his way back to Slytherin’s common room, even if he truly didn’t know what to make of all this. But if though what happened after the cup was bad, then this was worst. It made him wish the tournament wasn’t happening at all.

Draco had been pacing back and forth in the bathroom Moaning Myrtle in habits for about an hour, only because hardly anyone uses it so he doubted he'd be interrupted. The only one with him was Annabelle because she stumbled upon him and Draco hadn't made her leave, which was odd but he trusted that she wouldn't squeal to his friends where he was hiding and she currently wasn't bothering him. But at the words spoken to him, all movements ceased as icy hues flickered towards the source. ❝Hm, that depends little miss fairy princess on what you think is useless? The hiding from my friends or my unfortunate dilemma?❞ Malfoy asked softly, despite knowing that she didn't know anything about his dilemma.

❝Did you know that 'I told you so' has a sibling?❞ Draco inquired, cutting the other off. ❝Their name is 'Shut the hell up'.❞ Not even giving a damn if he was being rude, the other was currently getting on his nerves. And he's dealt with enough nonsense within the past hour as it was, all the male wanted was a moment of peace. Was that too much to ask for? Apparently so, which caused Malfoy to sigh. ❝What is it that you even want?❞

There was a soft hearted snicker that lacked any real mockery escaping his throat at Theo's comment, at least the male was happy so that's really all that mattered. Wasn't it? ❝Well it's not like he can do anything about that, now can he?❞ Draco asked softly, despite not expecting an answer. Unlike Nott, Malfoy doesn't intentionally try to disappoint his father, he just doesn't care to go out of his way to make him proud. Didn't care if his father was proud of him or not, after all it didn't matter. If anything the male was a bit more affectionate towards his father but not by much. ❝It truly sounds like it but you know, I'm happy that your life turned out amazing.❞

"i disappoint my father as a hobby now," theo quips, quite pleased with how his future was unfolding. gone were the days where he took the shit his father threw at him and internalized it. now, with his father locked up for life, theo had nothing to worry about. A snicker escaped the Slytherin’s lips at the pick up line, it was remarkable that the Gryffindor had the nerve to assume he stood a chance. Especially with that line, even if it wasn’t all that bad. It was the fact Potter had the balls to hit on him and not carry through, he just walked away like nothing happened. The nerve of the guy but if the point was to drive him nuts, then Draco supposed it worked. 

❝All talk, no action. Huh, Potter?❞ Malfoy called after Harry, remaining where he was momentarily. ❝What a bore..❞
