     peter has never liked horses— not out of hatred but out of sheer intimidation. much like how spiders freak him out for having far too many legs, horses simply have too much muscle for him to be okay with being near them. the look he gives reaper is decidedly wary, his feet pointed inwards as he remains on the other side of the pen.

     ❛ i didn't lie, i just got overzealous... ❜ a lame mumble as he leans against the fence and rubs awkwardly at his arm. there's a little bit of frustration in it. when he'd originally made the claim, peter had felt as if he was on track to conquer one of his fears. after all, he doubts an animal in rien's care would stomp him to death unless he truly pissed it off. now, though... now he feels rooted to the spot, brown eyes big and round as they stare helplessly at reaper. the name feels correct.  ❛ ... ugh, can't i just get away with a nod of acknowledgement? like, a 'when you and a stranger make unintentional eye contact from across the street' sorta thing...? ❜

After centuries in the fog, David has learned to control the anger inside of him and harness it, becoming "fogwise" himself under the tutelage of Vittorio. In order to keep his memories, some centuries previous, Vittorio used the remaining ink from the tower to present David with similar tattoos to him. Unlike Vittorio's, David's glow with a deep fiery color (similar to Vittorio's alternate cosmetic skin). While he still does suffer from his personality disorders, in the future, King is able to redirect the outbursts into rather protective energies that he uses to help the other survivors. His personality from when he was younger has taken a complete turn.

Often times, survivors (and even younger Vittorio) mistakes the older David as a variant of the wanderer. Gone also are the 'perks' that made David more of a survivor that would actively seek out the killers. Replaced now with perks that are more focused on the altruistic aspect of the trials and stealth. He also has no need to return to paradise in order to enter a trial. Able to 'sense' different realms and their alternate entrances, he proceeds to trials using these 'doorways' instead, taking the power away from the Entity and allowing him to choose when he enters a trial and where.

This older David also knows a vast majority of the killers by their real names and their stories. However, much is still a mystery to him.
