there’s nothing like the peace i feel out here .

the lighter makes a flick noise and the small flame appears , protected by the cautious cuffing of calypso's hand . a sizzle sounds from the cigarette dangling between his teeth . all the while , his eyes have not stopped paying attention to kailee ( he thought you were supposed to keep constant eye contact during a conversation , otherwise it was rude . ) he nods in silent agreement with her , the corners of his mouth curling upwards into a small smile . he takes a few quick breaths to keep the singe going before breathing out the smoke and looking in the same direction as his friend . ❝ seriously , though . this and bein' out on the water is like . . . amazing . ❞ his hand drops to his side and he bounces on the edge of his toes out of his sheer inability to stand still .

Elise was glowing, a bright grin set in place as she ruffled Michael's hair on her way past. Pulling more decorations from the box—a string of hanging ghosts this time—she spoke cheerily. "I can't wait to surprise your father! You know how much he loves Halloween." Her marriage was falling apart. Elise, the resentful doting not-quite-housewife. William, the hardworking husband who would no doubt find a dozen imperfections to pick apart about her decorating. Hopefully, he could at least wait until they were alone to complain.

For now, she wore a bright façade of domestic bliss, only a marginally less skilled liar than her husband. ( Or so she thought. ) She held up the string of ghosts for Michael to view. "So, over the front door or in the living room? Your decision." She wasn't all too invested in the decorating, the task more chosen for bonding with her eldest than out of her own excitement. "Or should these be one of the decorations going up in your room?" A joke but, well, she would have caved easily.

If I were to describe her using one lyrical song it would be this one, for sure. Not only does the vibe of the instrumental fit, but lyrically? She is a terrible thing and a very beautiful one too. It's probably part of the reason why she gets away so much. If we're not mentioning her skills in manipulation.

While she's warm in her own way, she comes off as cold to a majority of people which isn't a surprise considering she uses almost everyone to get what she wants. And yet a good amount of them keep crawling back... ...like a certain bird she likes leaving a mental wreck. She'd like to leave him in another type of wreck too, he doesn't need to know that.
