a sort of mini-prequel to my first ffxivwrite fill from this year! or: starfinder au aymeric getting all dolled up to go ruin a man's whole career while hanami makes fun of him.

“Diamond carbon,” Aymeric said, finally breaking the easy silence in the room as he stepped back from the mirror and smoothed a nonexistent wrinkle in his sleeve. “In the trousers. Naught but the best for an esteemed representative of El, naturally. How do I look?” He turned to present himself, all beguiling smile and spread arms and a single eyebrow raised in a delicate arch.

The holoskin—embedded in the silver cuff decorating his wrist, and she knew she wouldn’t have noticed the battery were it not for the delicate noise he could hear from the miniscule nodes attached to his hairline—was doing its job well, and he’d programmed it masterfully besides. The angle of his cheekbones was just slightly sharper than his norm; his ears seemed longer, tapered more to end in a finer point; his chin was narrower, the slope of his jaw just barely off, and his eyes—a brilliant royal blue, like duskfall over the Mandate on a clear day, and his irises were blown out, massive enough to obscure the whites of his sclera when he looked at her straight on, the dots of his pupils nothing more than dark inkstains.

“You look punchable,” she offered, with an approving twitch of a smile, and Aymeric broke out into peals of laughter. He reached up, his fingers brushing over the metal clips that held his bangs back in an elegant twist, and if she hadn’t known to watch she wouldn’t have seen his thumb brush the underside of his jaw. When he spoke again, his voice was a half-step higher, a little more airy—and his accent was entirely different, flawless Castrovelian, at least to her ears, but that she knew to be natural.

“I would thank you to refrain, melissë,” he murmured, and bent to brace himself on the side of the bed so he could stretch over her legs and drop a swift kiss on her forehead. When he straightened again he reached for his collar and pulled away one of the draped pieces of fabric, which turned out to be a mask; he tugged it up over his mouth to settle it on his nose, leaving only his eyes and cheeks visible over the embroidered vines and flowers.

“Now you sound punchable,” she added, sending him into another fit of snorts, the fabric of his mask moving with the air. “I hope you do not expect me to answer you in elvish. All the words I know are rude.”

Buzzcut Season — Lorde

The entire song has a melancholic feeling of fading naivete to me, which fits with how D'ly started out and has grown over the many years I've played her(2014 gang).

Now, she can physically go home, it's there, but it's not the same. Her parents have been ghosts for many years, it feels like she sees new wrinkles on her close friend Vorsaile who resides there each time she returns from her travels, and when she steps through the threshold it's different.

Vorsaile can bring her up to date about the shipping company, and how he'll be able to give out bonuses to their workers for another holiday season. She can tell him stories of her latest adventures over a shared, comforting meal. Most likely some kind of hardy stew. They can laugh about the trouble Dodo caused along the way and smile, but's not the same. She's seen too much, she had been at Rhalgr's Reach during the attack, and they both know one day she might not step through the threshold again.

They're 'playing along', living in a 'hologram' together, trying to cherish the precious moments before she leaves again with the knowledge above. It's all really sad, lol!

undoubtedly, it would have to be yves. don't let his freakishly tall stature and glowy eyes and eldritch abomination true form scare you, he's socially inept, he doesn't like touching people, and he doesn't like talking. just like me :p. we would most likely sit next to each other and have non-verbal communication. if there was a meme to describe both of us, it would be this one

as for your bonus question: it's a toss up between kirke, achille, and evander

kirke is definitely someone I wouldn't want to hang out with, for obvious reasons, especially not in a taxi. she's creepy and disturbing and an all around bizarre person. imagine sharing a small space with a sentient zombie who would rather cut you up in tiny pieces for study than eat you, or worse. and she would talk about your slow and torturous death like one would discuss last night's football game

achille, bless his heart, talks too much and is too hyperactive to sit next to for long. he's that type of passenger who doesn't know when to shut up and doesn't notice social cues. if someone is trying to avoid him, like myself, he'll just up the ante and try to get a reaction out of you for shits and giggles

evander is someone I wouldn't sit next to for $10k simply because he's an egotistical smartass who thinks he's above everyone else. he's the type of person who would gatekeep someone for having surface-level knowledge in a subject he just happens to know well. he's someone I would hate to meet because I would instantly want to deck him in the face. and that will happen because we would be fighting in a matter of minutes in the backseat and most likely crash the taxi. we'd still be fighting though

If I were to describe her using one lyrical song it would be this one, for sure. Not only does the vibe of the instrumental fit, but lyrically? She is a terrible thing and a very beautiful one too. It's probably part of the reason why she gets away so much. If we're not mentioning her skills in manipulation.

While she's warm in her own way, she comes off as cold to a majority of people which isn't a surprise considering she uses almost everyone to get what she wants. And yet a good amount of them keep crawling back... ...like a certain bird she likes leaving a mental wreck. She'd like to leave him in another type of wreck too, he doesn't need to know that.

9. does your muse usually carry around a bag/purse/backpack? or do they prefer to keep only what they can fit in their pockets?

l'aiha often carries a bag whenever she doesn't expect to be in combat! if she's staying in the area for a while, it's just a small bag with her typical essentials in it, like gil, hand wipes, scrunchies for her hair, a basic sewing kit or an embroidery project, at LEAST three small but informationally dense books, things like that.

when she's traveling and camping a lot though, she carries a much bigger bag, along with a rolled up sleeping bag. she keeps some basic cooking equipment with her, some first-aid supplies (healing magic is taxing for her, so she's gotten used to doing things the mundane way in that regard), a tent for bad weather days (she likes sleeping under an open sky when she can though!), and things like that.

but she also relies on pockets and holsters a lot when she travels! she carries her weapons and armor on her person, and tons of various things that don't fit in her bags or would get damaged in there or something. she's a very good hunter, so she catches game and gathers herbs as she travels; it's not uncommon to see either or both strapped to her person as the day goes on.

if she does enter a combat situation while traveling, she usually drops her bags and other carryons; she's quite strong, but her combat style relies on dexterity, so she needs to be lightweight enough to be at her best in a fight! she accounts for this too, her bags, belts, etc all usually have a very quick means of detaching, so that she uses as little time as possible. the big bag goes first, followed by as many things as she can discard before the assailant is upon her.

though, she has done a lot of random combats with a dead bird strapped to her waist. 😂

I read some of the articles you linked and really enjoyed them (I just so happened to have finished Omkara a few days ago, so it was interesting to dig into that review, and it was nice to get the full context on Tarak and RC's families where before I had only heard 'both sons from acting dynasties'. Crazy too to read about Chiranjeevi's impact! I'm still halfway through that one). I'm happy to see you back around!

oh <333💞 I'm so glad you enjoyed those too! Baradwaj Rangan (although I don't always agree with him) is my favourite film critic along with Sucharita Tyagi when it comes to Hindi films. He's also great to read for South Indian cinema as well (he used to work at Film Companion South). Omkara is such an interesting film, I watched it in 720p on YouTube in 2020 for the first time and it's only now that I'm seeing it on streaming. It's a very sexy and almost gothic film film i love ! I was on my spn blog this whole time lol, I like to alternate between this one and that <3

thank you tumblr user tsupertsundere i appreciate your well wishes i am now happily instated in a beautiful home with my beautiful girlfriend and our cat and have finished my summer class and yesterday actually i obtained a very very small dog named moses after the jerry reid song amos moses which is one of my favorite songs he is a time traveler and also a baby i actually have a blog for him believe it or not

Listen to me, listen to me. If I had not played Sword & Shield as Kor, my second pick was Sarrai. I have thought about her team make-up one too many times. Fairies are cute! Fairies are horrific! We have such gems like:

Shiinotic: Its flickering spores lure in prey and put them to sleep. Once this Pokémon has its prey snoozing, it drains their vitality with its fingertips.

Morgrem: When it gets down on all fours as if to beg for forgiveness, it's trying to lure opponents in so that it can stab them with its spear-like hair.
