((Ah, yes, SO! I feel vastly inadequate at answering this, but I'll try. Forgive me if I ramble.

My only contact with the Fate series as an active consumer is having played FGO for a whole year. I usually have multiple gacha games in rotation and I liked Magia Record (RIP that game), and FGO played similarly, so I started it. Played through a good chunk of the story but I was in event catch-up hell towards the end.

The only character I had any investment in emotionally in order to consider them is Mash, even after playing a lot of story. But from like the units I knew mostly through gameplay... I really like Sherlock Holmes and Mata Hari.

Mata Hari in particular is who I fed all my grails to in the hopes she got strong enough to justify using. ... She didn't. But I kind of like how she acts and how you can't tell just how much she likes seducing and/or killing sometimes. It kept me guessing.

As for Holmes- I don't mind him acting that superior despite the fact that canon Holmes is not as much like that at all (despite what BBC Sherlock might have drilled into people's heads). The Proot is very awesome. This one, I had the pleasure to speak to a bit more than some of the others. His characterization is intriguing. Just as I met them, I had already put in my head that Saki wouldn’t be the main Neptune I interacted with, but as it turned out (and I guess, much to Proot’s dismay), it was the Neptune with the most interaction that I had. The characters themselves just have their own spotlight regardless of the characterization of other similar ones, and that’s not an easy thing to do while still staying pretty much in character. It’s… weird, actually. I don’t think “Neptune” when I think Saki. But when I think Saki, I think Neptune. Proot’s obviously the bearer of some dark magic that makes this possible. And I love it.
