is it nico hc question time upon ye! we know how he holds his anger.... how does nico hold his love and affection? how does he show affection, and how does he like affection to be shown to him?

Speaking of emotions Nico doesn't allow himself to feel.

Before, love and affection are tangled with excitement. He loves sharing things that he loves with people that he loves, spending the time together pouring over different Mythomagic cards--admiring the artwork or practicing different battle strategies. It's not an excitement matched with adrenaline, and indeed anyone looking on would see two siblings sitting calmly near each other, although one seems to be much more invested in the conversation.

Nico has trouble recalling any time when he isn't near his sister, just the two of them. The Lotus Hotel might have muffled his memories of his time inside, and the River Lethe stolen the rest away, but the consistent presence of his sister is what love and affection mean to him.

(It's a warmth that settles in his gut, spreading up to his chest, his fingers, and down into his toes. It's a comfort that he doesn't even realize he has until it's gone.)

But then it's shattered and that love and affection is bound up inside the anger.

He begins feeling new experiences of love, mottled with anger and confusion, which make it a painful, searing cut to his chest rather than the former comfort of love. This love is mingled with guilt and shame, not only for the feeling alone but also for who it's directed at. How could he love someone who broke their promise? How could he love someone who would never love him back?

So he buries the love and affection even deeper so that even as the anger begins to fade, it does not reveal the love within. It takes some rather direct, forced conversations to crack Nico open, and this comes after wandering through Tartarus and being kept in a jar to the point of suffocation.

He's still learning to rekindle his love and affection. It's a delicate thing, something he's not used to minding--like a fire over nearly spent kindling--but he's slowly coaxing it back with help. He's starting to enjoy quality time with others again, starts to enjoy having hobbies and shared interests. He's learning the importance of giving and receiving kind touch, even the not strictly romantic touch, but it's a slow process.

When in her root mode, Electron's wings are pretty much immobile and sweep downwards and backwards. She can't lay on her back without significant discomfort—or even pain—as her own weight puts too much strain on the joints between them and her back.

Her transformation sequence does have them 'shift' to fall in line with the shape of her vehicle mode, but this is the only way it can happen naturally, without being forced.

As a consequence, she can't engage in any form of Wingspeak herself, despite being able to understand it fluently.

thinking out loud here, but i think the bito family probably lives right in the heart of the city, most likely in an apartment given the area in question. i was trying to do some cursory digging on where more specifically that might be, with a focus on the area surrounding miyashita, but most of what i dug up was on the other side of shibuya. but it just... makes the most sense to me that they'd live close to miyashita (as in walking distance), given that's where beat and rhyme died. it was after a fight with their dad that he stormed out and with the way their death was portrayed in the anime at least, i find it hard to believe they got very far before the accident occurred. even for someone as hotheaded as beat, i can't see him being able to ignore rhyme the entire trek across the city to get there before replying to her. rhyme's always been his weak spot. he'll say to leave him alone, but he can't just blatantly ignore them to that degree.

though i do think my poking around residential stuff did strengthen my headcanon that he was heading to the skate park that's at miyashita/that the skate park was his comfort place. if they didn't live nearby, it makes sense that's where he'd be headed, since he had his skateboard with him. them living near by just makes it more of a convenient trek and makes the timeline of their deaths fit a little better, imo.

that said, i also think this likely means that he went to shibuya junior/senior high school (located just between miyashita and cat street), which means popping by wildkat after school or even cutting class to go to the cafe is actually a pretty easy thing to do, since it's right in the area

With pride month on the horizon, let's talk characters and their sexualities and gender identities! While these are different, they're both part of the community, and it's important to discuss, especially when talking about those who are more marginalized.

Starting with canon characters!

Angel Dust - The way I write Angel is homosexual and demiromantic. Which means that he is attracted to men and does not form romantic attachments without first forming an emotional connection. I also write him as genderqueer, which means he's not entirely cis. He likes to play around with gender and gender expression, but doesn't necessarily have or want a different label, though he might figure something else out down the line.

Asmodeus - Ozzie is pansexual, demiromantic, and genderfluid. He is attracted to any and all genders, but again only forms romantic attachments with an emotional connection. This also means he's on the ace spectrum! And as far as his gender goes, while he frequently presents as male and mostly uses masculine pronouns, there are absolutely days where that is not the case. Sometimes he prefers to present more femme, and he might decide to use feminine pronouns that day. Or he might present more femme, while sticking with masculine pronouns. Another possibility is more androgynous, in both presentation and pronouns. The possibilities are honestly endless. He's just Ozzie, no matter what, and that's what's important.

Charlie - While she is bisexual and biromantic, Charlie is sapphic-leaning. Which means that she prefers partners who are not men. Because "bi" in her case does not mean "only men and women;" it is simply the label she is comfortable with, the one she vibes with.

Husk - While most people would judge him based on appearances and think he's straight, Husk is pansexual and demiromantic. It really doesn't matter what's in someone's pants, as far as he's concerned. Romantic relationships are a whole different story, and he's had far fewer of those, especially after ending up in Hell.

Lucifer - The King of Hell is pansexual and panromantic; he sees someone attractive and does the "oh no, they're hot" meme regardless of gender. He's also not entirely cis, but doesn't really have a label for that part of himself. Maybe he'll settle on one later, but for now, he's fine just being Lucifer.

Moxxie - This particular imp is bisexual, biromantic, and polyamorous! Moxxie is also demiboy, which means that, while he does vibe with the gender he was assigned at birth, there are times where he Does Not. He's exploring that part of himself, with support from Millie, and also through discovering different parts of himself within the terms of their ethical nonmonogamy.

Stolas - Prince Stolas of the Ars Goetia is homosexual and demiromantic. Which again means that he is only attracted to men, and does not form romantic attachments without an emotional connection. In his case, he also finds it difficult to be sexually attracted to someone without an emotional connection, which also puts him on the ace spectrum, both sexually and romantically. Additionally, though he has not had a chance to explore his gender on any level, really, that is something that will likely happen in the future.

Vortex - While Tex is probably the most cis muse on this list, he is definitely not the straightest. This hellhound is pansexual, panromantic, and polyamorous! He's had relationships with all sorts of people; he's chill as long as his partner is chill. Unlike Moxxie, he has had romantic relationships with multiple partners at once, as long as all parties involved are aware and amenable.

And now for my OCs!

Ardor - Another pansexual, panromantic, polyamorous muse! While he is pan, Ardor tends to be male-leaning. He's had multiple partners in the past, though his primary partner will always be Zeal.

Cain - Pansexual and demiromantic, Cain doesn't have much of a preference as far as partners go. He hasn't had that many romantic relationships, falling on the aromantic spectrum; he just hasn't really been interested, instead focusing his time on making sure Hell remains fed.

Echo - The definition of genderfluid. Echo's presentation is usually androgynous or masc-leaning, as they were AFAB in life. They're also pansexual and panromantic, which means that they're very much into just about anyone.

Johnny - While he didn't necessarily know the proper terms to describe himself when he was alive, Johnny is both bisexual and biromantic. Like Charlie, this just means that this is the label he prefers. He does tend to lean more into women, but he would be equally as happy with someone of any gender, as long as they treated him well and appreciated him properly.

YOU should yap about NICO and anger!! what does anger look and feel like for him? what sets him off? how does his anger change and shift over the years? how does he cope with anger?

Anger seizes Nico around his neck, gripping tighter and tighter (like a noose), traveling up from his chest to the back of his head. His chest, where it should be inflamed--and indeed it sometimes is--often rests cold and still, a hard knot in the place where his heart should be. Emotions otherwise bound up tight to prevent the rest from leaking out, only allowing the anger to escape. And as that anger travels up his neck, it sets fire to the back of his mind, clouding his thoughts with smoke so only the anger remains, giving him new energy that he wouldn't otherwise have. Sometimes the only energy and drive he has.

His teeth grit together, lips pulled back in a feral snarl, a dark light dances in his eyes. A dare, a promise, for what might to come if his anger is further tested. Shoulders are stiff, bound up in the same tension as his neck, but more ready to spring, more ready to fight. When Nico is at the peak of his anger, it's all he can do to restrain himself.

( When his anger is calmer, the cold knot in his chest still ensures its presence, but it sharpens his words instead of his blade. A cold, sardonic cut to everything he says, tempered marginally by time and patience. )

Nico's anger stems from the source of feeling wronged, of an injustice being carried out either to himself or to those he cares about. He feels broken promises deeply, again either given explicitly by someone he (previously) trusted, or implied by how a system is supposed to function. And his anger is only further fueled by harm coming from said broken promises. Nico's anger carries a holy element, a winnowing away of what is wrong in the world out of the desire to make it a better place to live. But a pride also lurks as an additional fuel for the fire-- he believes in his version of justice, his version of right and wrong, making it harder to see other perspectives on a situation.

But his anger tempers slowly over time, becoming less volatile as he himself begins to heal. The places where he's broken continue to mend and the cold, stillness in his chest begins to crack. He allows himself to feel more emotions, to be worthy of those emotions, and thus the anger has less grounds to present itself. It does sometimes flare hot, but not as hot as before, and it is usually more targeted.

Nico still feels a lot of his anger his justified, and he still needs to work on holding grudges, but he has gotten better at seeing more perspectives, understanding others from where they're coming from. Because of this, his anger doesn't come up as much, and when it does, it doesn't quite consume him anymore.
