finally finished another manderville weapon today and i couldn't be happier bc these milpreves are to die for, honestly ;;

slowly, but surely, i'm working down my list of jobs to get all of them since they all fit hikaru's aesthetic so damn much

aside from the hair being the wrong one (i'm working on farming the cowries needed for the modded hair i usually use for her), hikaru's back to her full glory!

i'm still trying to find eyes that i like, too, but the ones she has now are very pretty!

slowly working on leveling jobs other than gunbreaker for hikaru and i gotta say, something about the rdm artifact gear for this expansion is doing things to my brain.

though, i gotta say, gnb's artifact gear slaps hard.

also, until penumbra's stable build's out, y'all are getting vanilla hikaru! tbh i'm kinda getting used to seeing her like this (but i'm gonna give her back her starry scales, eyes, and long hair when penumbra comes back!)

out of uniform: first and foremost, this headcanon is inspired from @drachenblood's headcanon where taco has stated that estinien is the better dragoon between him and the wol. and honestly?

i have to agree.

when hikaru started her journey as an ordinary adventurer, she was an arcanist under thubyrgeim's tutelage and through a realm reborn, she felt like the path of a summoner was her calling over that of a scholar, thus gladly learned all that she could from y'mhitra in the art of summoning and how to control the elements. to her, if there is more that y'mhitra wishes to teach her, she's more than happy to partake in learning from her.

and then, since the warrior of light has the capability to swap between jobs ranging from paladin to sage, i'd like to say that hikaru is very much a jack of all trades, but master of none of them. throughout her journey, all of the skills and abilities that she's learned thus far have been taught to her from various mentors who wanted to pass down their knowledge of their jobs down to the warrior of light, and in some cases, make sure that the art of their jobs doesn't die out. hikaru can utilize all of these abilities thanks to the soul crystals she has and through her own training, but by no means is she suddenly a master of them or will ever be one.

there are a few jobs she's more skilled in, like that of gunbreaker and dragoon, but again, it's not as if she's dedicated her entire life to learning the craft and thus has imperfections in how she utilizes that job's specific talents and skills. she is always up for learning more from her mentors, fellow scions, and those who have devoted their lives to being a master of the job as well as how to use more sophisticated techniques than what she already knows.

i see y'alls headcanons for how your azem died, so lemme just add one more into the mix for my own:

helios, ever selfless helios, who would always extend a hand to whomever needed it would have definitely tried to provide whatever aid she could. if someone needed their wounds staunched, she would do her utmost. if someone needed to just talk to someone before they inevitably died, helios would have sat and talked with them.

but, the one person who helios didn't look out for was herself in the chaos and ended up sacrificing her own life to protect someone to keep them safe. i envision that she died with a smile and never failed to at least try to say something comforting in her last moments to the one she tried to defend. she also could have just ended up dying alone, too, with her thoughts being focused on venat, hythlodaeus, emet-selch and the rest of the friends she made until she passed on and would inevitably become hikaru takeda, an au'ra who just wanted to be an adventurer, but fate had other plans in store for her.

this is a temporary look until i get my hands on the fixed upscale that i was using for hikaru (just don't mind the small glimpse of vanilla scales that are peeking through) in endwalker, but like, even if it is temporary? it still looks so good and i'm pretty happy with how this came together.
