DURING   THE   GALRA   invasion   paladins   of   voltron   had   little   to   no   choice   but   to   sit   still   in   the   galaxy   garrison,      only   able   to   provide   help   to   a   small   select   radius   around   the   area.      now   however⸻      with   sendak   defeated   and   remaining   earthlings   now   freed   from   enslavement   and   hiding   the   defenders   of   the   universe   could   now   make   rounds   around   the   planet   and   aid   wherever   possible.

TODAY   LANCE   FOUND   himself   in   the   heart   of   japan,      dressed   in   iconic   armour   to   express   his   being   there   as   he   set   down   his   lion   and   began   his   search   for   people   in   need   and   places   to   lend   a   hand.

PURE   EUPHORIC   BLISS   had   embraced   him   when   long   awaited   arrival   home   was   greeted   with   the   open   arms   of   his   family,      he   still   vividly   recalled   the   sensation   that   in   that   moment   everything   was   right   with   the   universe,      but   as   time   progressed   worry   and   wonder   began   to   settle   in   for   a   couple   paladin’s   specifically⸻      he   and   pidge   seemed   to   be   the   only   ones   reunited   with   relatives,      but   what   about   the   others  ?

WHENEVER   THIS   QUESTION   surfaced   keith   struck   his   conscience   strongly,      faded   memory   couldn’t   recall   ever   seeing   him   with   anyone   aside   from   shiro,      and   after   meeting   keith’s   mother......      did   he......      have   anyone   here  ?

IT   PLAGUED   HIS   thoughts   more   and   more   as   time   went   on,      and   lance   found   himself   hovering   in   keith’s   company   during   downtime   more   than   he   used   to,      doing   his   best   to   spark   conversation   and   simply   offer   friendly   presence,      but   he   never   quite   got   himself   to   voice   his   concerns.      at   very   least,      he   hoped,      it   was   better   than   nothing.

TONE    WAS   CONSIDERABLY   more   sombre   than   it   usually   was,      but   perhaps   that   could   be   simply   chalked   up   to   the   time   of   night.      sliding   his   way   over   lance   decided   to   ignore   the   slight   awkwardness   hanging   in   the   air   to   instead   flop   down   face   first   onto   keith’s   bed,      groaning   softly   into   his   pillow. 

LANCE   WASN'T   NECESSARILY   unwell   or   upset,      just   lonely,      no   matter   how   much   time   he   spent   in   outer   space   there   were   still   times   where   it   felt   disturbing   for   his   room   to   be   so   silent,      for   him   to   have   a   full   nights   rest   and   not   wake   up   to   screaming   kids   barging   into   his   room,      to   be……      alone.

❛      good   job   out   there,      team   leader.      ❜         HAND   RAISED   SKYWARD   for   a   high---five,      small   smile   pressed   to   tired   lips.      he   was   absolutely   exhausted   and   felt   as   if   he   could   easily   sleep   off   a   good   couple   weeks,      but   lance   had   a   need   to   check   in   with   the   others   first   before   anything   else.

CONSIDERING   THE   TYPE   OF   PERSON   KEITH   WAS   lance   had   honestly   assumed   it   would   take   much   longer   for   them   to   get   to   hand---holding⸻      on   second   thought,      perhaps   he   shouldn’t   be   congratulating   himself   whilst   the   floor   was   practically   crumbling   under   their   feet.
