“…” now that’s an unusual question — coming from a human too, out of all people. “I assume you dared to question me that on the very first place because you wish to know about my honest thoughts… very well.” He only needs to be as eloquent as he can be with his answers, but doesn’t hold back from truly saying his thoughts, right? It’ll be slightly challenging, yet still doable regardless.

“If you put a piece of a human next to of a pork, beef, and a random game meat and let me sample it without knowing which one is which, I wouldn’t be able to tell simply from the taste alone.” Implying that he cares less about the actual taste, but there’s something more to it. “But the mana or life force you get from a human’s flesh is different because it’s particularly more bountiful. There’s even more plenty if you consume the brain — likely because they believe it’s where thoughts and emotions are stored...” His sentence briefly trails off until he tops it off with a conclusion, “...yes, the brain is indeed the most satisfying part to me, taste wise.”

Homesick; certainly not a word she would hear every day in every conversation. The concept of home itself is never truly defined for an assassin who barely stays in one, fixed place. To hear someone having a ‘home’ to come back to… it sparks an ambivalent sort of jealousy within her heart. Albeit owing much of her life to her old master back then, she is practically left on her own to survive through whatever skills and survival instincts that she was taught of. For many years, she’s been much conditioned to solitude, people coming into and going from her lives — most hardly lasting for long.

“Ah.” Ryu’s voice puts a pause on her brief yet quiet, thoughtful pondering — snapping back her attention to the cold-water bottle offered to her hand. “…Yeah, I do like it.” Twisting open the bottlecap, she takes in a sizable refreshing gulp before returning to resume her reply, “This place’s not as big or crowded as Tokyo. Much quieter and homey, actually…” Apart of a certain group made up of some nosy housewives that makes shit-talking around the neighborhood as their pastime. “Well, we need some peace and quiet for once in a while, am I right?”

Although she’d eventually come to wonder to herself again, how long would this peace and quiet would last.

“I’m actually used to move around a lot, you know. But not so often that I get to unwind in a smaller town like this.” Lips tug into a contented simper, before concluding her answer in a jest. “You make a pretty nice neighbor, Ryu-san, as long as you don’t make open gossiping around your neighborhood as a hobby, yeah?”

THE MEME SAYS ONE THING but i am annoying so i'm giving you a few. and it's not a comment to a specific portrayal but moreover points of consistency i really admire about you!

you do a lot, a lot, a lot of research and i love how evident it is. you're passionate about the details and put so much care in integrating that with every character. it makes their inner world very accessible even to a vicarious viewer like me.

also re: your tags—i think the fact that english isn't your native language is a lowkey buff. because your writing has this fresh perspective that gives your writing a like, poetic edge? idk how to explain it well but it's something i see in a lot of people who have english as a secondary/third/etc language. i think it's wonderful & there's a lot to be proud of there for you!

Admittedly, I have to confirm that you got my love for researching to a T because of my personal love for general knowledge heheh. Personally, I can be very self conscious of the source material accuracies. I know rp is simply a hobby and all, but even then writers have to possess basic general knowledge and be respectful about what they write, especially with certain cultural contexts. Thus, I get super deep into researching. You can see why I tend to prefer Asian-based muses as well since the basic gist of their experience is also closer to my IRL experience as well LOL

As for the re: ESL part, I'm honestly kind of surprised that it could be seen that way! I feel like my writing tends to forgo poetic metaphors and less wordy to be more straightforward since my vocab isn't the best. In a way, I always think of creative writing as a productive hobby that helps me with my job irl and helps myself develop as a person, so this hobby also serves as an outlet for me to further learn English by myself.

She blinks her eyes once, then twice, and thrice — slowly, affectionately, almost cat-like in nature. It is meant to be something of a playful gesture, intending to prove his point. “Really?” Rhetoric. She knows the answer is clearly a ‘yes’. “I thought you’d find them weird at first, since most people did.” Just like how everyone else did back then. Those beastly eyes were deemed as a bad omen, of an otherworldly nature that is not of a human. Not for some people in the present day, apparently.

“But anyway…” Swiftly moving from her side of the bed, she climbed on top of him to gently lay herself down on her stomach — soft mounds of chest meeting his uncovered, chiseled torso. Flashes of golden meet his own forest green through the canopy of dark eyelashes, intently gazing and getting lost within the verdant colors of his eyes. “I could get lost forever in yours too, Dante~ Yours are so pretty too, you know?” Head slightly tilts as fingertips gently tread against the skin of his cheek, an achingly affectionate and admiring gesture.

“Heheh…” she voices out a pleased chuckle, and as a little twist, decides to give his cheek a little pinch. “You’re so cute.”
