“…” now that’s an unusual question — coming from a human too, out of all people. “I assume you dared to question me that on the very first place because you wish to know about my honest thoughts… very well.” He only needs to be as eloquent as he can be with his answers, but doesn’t hold back from truly saying his thoughts, right? It’ll be slightly challenging, yet still doable regardless.

“If you put a piece of a human next to of a pork, beef, and a random game meat and let me sample it without knowing which one is which, I wouldn’t be able to tell simply from the taste alone.” Implying that he cares less about the actual taste, but there’s something more to it. “But the mana or life force you get from a human’s flesh is different because it’s particularly more bountiful. What is the one thing you’re the proudest of in your writing?

What is the one thing you’re the proudest of in your writing? Personally, I take pride in the amount of research I try to put in as I write my characters since they take a lot of inspiration from real-life mythos, folklore, and historical events. While they may or may not 100% stick closely to the source, being respectful to the culture they originate from here is the key. Researching and reading about mythos, folklore and history are my favorite hobbies to do in the spare time, so it clicks very much for me to incorporate it in my writing and worldbuilding. I tend to stick more to East Asian-based sources since it's easier to understand from cultural proximity context (well, I am Southeast Asian...), but I'd like to expand my reach out of my usual comfort zone as well.

Some of my rp partners (notably, from local communities) said before that I also write off emotions and internal thoughts quite vividly but since English is not my first language (and sometimes I'm not confident enough with my writing in English), I'm not sure if that point applies here as well... ^^;

She blinked twice, whilst keeping her gaze fixed towards the single eye that stared into her own. Megohime had to make sure she wasn’t hearing things wrong. “You want to spend this year’s Tsukimi… with me?” Though they’ve been living under the same roof for years, hearing the great One-Eyed Dragon asking her out directly to attend a special occasion with him was something of a rarity. Understandably, he was more often away from home, carrying out his duty as a leader && a warlord, to lead his men into battles && returning to Oushuu victorious. Not all campaigns would necessarily end in a favorable result, && casualties were more often than not, bound to happen — the very reason she’d pray for his safe return to home.

As he was often away from home for so long, spending their moments together as a husband && wife was already a rare occasion within a year, moreso if it happened to coincide with a certain festival that they observe. So, when she heard of his invitation ( that rang to her closer to a declaration ) she was temporarily at loss on how to respond. Starting off with a brief stutter, an attempt was made to respond in return to his declaration.

“I… O-of course, Masamune-sama!” Her expression was visibly elated, bodily gestures turned giddily sheepish in response as her fingertips twiddle against each other. Voiced hush elicited from her lips, almost like a whisper. “You actually don’t have to ask me for that. I’ll be more than welcome to...”  

Though with only a few days left to the now-hotly anticipated moon-viewing festival that she looked forward to, her mind had immediately scrambled into meticulous planning for the event. “Umm... Should we prepare the sake and dango set that you like? Tell Kojuro to cook a special dish for the whole household? Ah, um, w-what kind of kimono do you want me to wear for the day?”

Keiji horse is straight up staring right into Renge due to said owner forgetting to feed them this one time(Goddamnit Keiji!). Matsuzake needs his food Renge, they trust you enough to feed them!

“W-what’s with you?”

She’s aware that she’s dealing with a famed historical figure — nay, a horse, but not just an ordinary horse. It’s the famed warsteed Matsukaze itself, in the flesh! However, what weirds her out from this predicament is that the creature itself has been intently staring at her, which is easy to interpret that it’s pleading for something. Most certainly, food.

Alternatively, it’s simply mistaking her for its owner — simply because they look familiar ( sort of ).

“Didn’t Keiji-san just give you food?” Or not, she thinks. He’s nowhere to be seen around too, likely already ran through all the way downtown to indulge in a festival with the locals && forgetting to do his duties — as usual. Oh well. “Mmmh…” she couldn’t help but to feel bad because the steed keeps on giving her a pleading stare with its two, beady dark eyes. “Fine. I’ll do it in his stead then…” Luckily for them, it seems like the stables already provided enough fresh carrots to feed its residents. She takes at least two pieces, being somewhat aware that these creatures can have quite a bottomless appetite. “If Matsu-san knows about it, I guess it won’t end well for him, huh?” she mumbles as she's handing out the carrots — may as well as been directed to the horse.

"I made too much karashi renkon so you can join me for a snack. I have a bottle of umeshu we can open up too, it's too heavy to drink on my own." Tomoe, inviting Tsuyuko for a meal? It wasn't like she did so because she enjoyed the fox's company. It was only because she had no one else to invite!!

“O~ya~? Tomoe-san is inviting me for a meal?” Tsuyuko chirps, lackadaisically, much like the usual whenever she encounters the young dragoness. While the offer seems sudden && out of nowhere, Tsuyuko absolutely sees nothing wrong with it. It’s not like Tomoe would try to spike her food out of spite or anything — with such a pure, honest heart ( && maybe coupled with bad acting ) she couldn’t picture her doing such.

“Huuum, you’re not inviting me because there’s no one else to invite, aren’t you? But since now that you’re willing to invite me on the first place, does that mean you consider me as a friend now?” Even if Tomoe is not willing to acknowledge it right away, Tsuyuko is more than confident that she’ll eventually make her relent. “Ah, how kind of you, just like Lady Kannon! Well then, don’t mind me if I dig in for the renkon first.”

Well, that was… unusual. Not very surprising, considering how puppy-like his companion can be sometimes, but being offered a hug of the blue like this is quite… unusual. Don’t tell that little hound that he was secretly reading what’s going through his mind ( of secretly longing for some physical affection ) ? No, of course, he can’t truly admit that out loud — that would bring shame to his name && tarnish his reputation…

“…Are you perhaps… offering me a hug?” Certainly, he is questioning what is obvious. His pride, on the other hand, prevented himself from speaking up of what’s truly inside his mind. “I-I appreciate the thought, but I don’t really require such treatment myself at the moment.” Though if one is keen with his bodily language, it’s clear that he’s hiding something in plain sight.

When she opens the front door that leads to the clinic’s premises, little did moon rabbit expect that she would be receiving a guest this late in the evening — one that is covered in a bloody mess, no less. Worse, the said guest is none other than the country’s one && only empress, many open bleeding wounds very much visible on the surface of her skin; her silken robes tattered all over as if it had been sliced open by vicious slashes of blades. Rather than grimacing out of nausea && fear, the presence of blood does nothing to faze the healer. Jinluo’s expression turns stern — violet hues directly stare onto Koto’s nearly empty sunsetlike eyes.

“Lady Koto… what is this…?” She rarely raises her voice, yet the heat of the moment gets into her out of distressed concern. “Just what in the world… happened to you?” Remembering the urgency from the dire situation at the very moment, she waits no longer for an answer && holds out her hand directly to hover above a particularly huge open wound on her chest that is laid over on a scar that is already etched upon the fair skin. With a little concentration, a small glow emanates from her palm whereas a gentle ray of light would cover the wound to gradually close it — returning to the state where it was intact.

“I normally don’t do things this way, but this is an emergency.” While she still has a myriad of inquiries she wanted to ask out loud, there are more pressing matters for her to attend at this very moment. “Don’t move until I’m done with treating all of your open wounds.” She might tire herself more than usual with this technique, but it matters little when another’s life is at stake.

Well, the man himself is nicknamed the ‘Sleeping Dragon’, but I would be more than flattered to be compared to such an extraordinary mortal.” Conversely, her nickname would refer into something else instead. “Or would that name be written with the character for ‘crimson’ and ‘brightness’? Please correct me if I’m wrong!”

The very presence of those monsters would be a good enough reason to travel in groups — as she often learned the hard way whenever she travelled alone.

“The more the merrier… especially with our destination being a particularly difficult place to traverse.” She briefly glances at the tacet mark present on the youth’s body, offering him an approving nod followed by an extended hand — reaching out to him. “I trust in our abilities as fellow Resonators. Now then, shall we depart?”

Killian wouldn’t call himself a true nor professional gourmet, but he’s rather familiar with cheese && its many variations—for being incredibly flexible to be consumed in different kinds of situations && to offer so many flavors available. The term ‘scarbuncle’, however, still remains unrecognizable to him. With the way this man is questioning him, he has a notion that he’s been played with all along.

“I’m not sure what kind of cheese that you are talking about,” he speaks, arms folded below his chest to cast his cautiousness towards the other. “Not that I ever heard of such variation either… what is it that you seek from me?”
