i like the classic “may [deity] [action]” for quick semi formal or informal day-to-day blessings!

sometimes i even discard the “may”. example:

“may apollon grant me patience” becomes “apollon grant me patience” if i’m really exasperated.

How do you write prayers??? I'm not really good with words, and it just feels odd. I don't necessarily want my prayers to always be about wanting something but about general day-to-day blessings. Something I don't need to really be formal about if I don't want to be.

How I've put together my grimoire...

I'm honestly so proud of my grimoire and I wanted to share a bit of how I've organized it! I'm still always adding more to it, but here's a quick post on its structure and usage.

1. Table of contents.

I've structured my grimoire to have two tables of contents. Contents A contains all the info, while Contents B contains my own crafted spells, and some borrowed from other sources.

For info in Contents A:

In the last page of my grimoire, I've written a little disclaimer for referring to my detailed "metaphysical-stuff" journal. In this separate journal, I have detailed information I've collected. Some of the info includes Shintoism, Slavic Paganism, and Kemeticism. This separate journal contains several pages worth of information and notes which I couldn't easily fit into my main grimoire.

In the separate, more detailed journal, I've also included a table of contents, though it's less involved than my grimoire's.

3. Index.

It hasn't been created yet, but I plan to include an index in my grimoire. I want this to contain keywords and where to find them within the book.

I hope this inspires you to create your own grimoire! You can do so much with it, and I've only scratched the surface with how I've structured mine.

Your post brought me tears again, I’ll try to vent to Lucifer tonight, since I believe his sacred days are Mondays too.. On Sunday if I don’t forget Apollo and Friday Aphrodite!

And thanks you, I’ll try to demand a tarot divination before sleeping because I am a mess right now, I always had depression (I didn’t seek out someone because I’m anxious about it, but it’s kinda obvious honestly everyone in my family think that) and if getting out of bed is enough for them I’ll try to do it more often! Plus I’ve recently tried to do indoor sports for Lucifer and Apollo I hope they appreciate it.

I’ll maybe come back by the end of the week to unwind a bit I feel very sick (stuffy nose, i feel im suffocating when crying lmao) and tired.

Also my last request (sorry I ask too much already you’re so kind bdhwjdhejfbjw) How exactly do you meditate? I used to be Hindu and kinda following Buddha teachings, well didn’t work out I still don’t know how to meditate lol embarrassing— But I was kinda curious! I found this one enn meditation for Lucifer and another one but for Aphrodite and Apollo do you suggest just to use an normal guided meditation ?

i'm so glad that it helped !!! i was lowkey dumping everything i knew on there out of small panic because i didn't want you to feel that way LMAO but i'm so so so happy that it helped bring you some peace of mind ! i'm so sure they appreciated it btw !

usually to meditate i use audio from youtube to help . if i try it without audio then i end up falling asleep LMAO so music helps ! i've tried guided meditations but they just annoy me most of the time because i like visualising on my own so having someone telling me what to see doesn't cut it for me , but simultaneously , the first time i managed to get into that "inner space" that so many meditators talk about was through a guided meditation for apollon !

i suggest try all . try the ones made for those specific entities first , and if those don't work , then try normal guided meditations . it's all about what works for you , so just try everything and figure out what fits you best ! but i would personally highly recommend any enn meditations for beings like lucifer

i don't like sitting up in the classic meditation position because it hurts my back and i find it very hard to sit still to begin with ( i'm always rocking forward and backward just a little , even now help ) so i've tried different comfortable positions and i've found it works best for me when i'm laying down on my back with my hands at the sides . especially if i'm trying to get back into that "inner space" , i can't do that if parts of my body are touching each other , so i try to make sure my limbs aren't touching but also aren't too far apart so that i'm still comfortable . again , you'll have to experiment with what works for you !

since i don't like guided meditations , i just use audio from the youtube channel sound of sleep ( though they do have wonderful guided meditations and their guided apollon meditation is what i was talking about above ! ) because they have a huge variety of different deity meditations ! also idk their meditation music just hits different

Hihihi 🎹anon here! I hope you’re having a very good day or night, personally I could done better but it’s just a bad day not a bad life :3

I wanted to know a bit about something that I feel guilty for, you see it’s been like a good month that I’m devoted to Apollo, Aphrodite and very recently Lucifer(I forgot to do his meditation, because I was not feeling very good and today it’s just worsened because of my classmates. (But let’s not talk about them they don’t deserve my precious attention)..

I know multiple, even the whole community told me to not use Tiktok as a reliable source for research but even on Tumblr, everyday I see people having the best relationships with their gods and I feel guilty because I don’t have that kind of relationship and they maybe think I’m too weird(I genuinely believe they could think that) or not worthy enough (yet, maybe it’s going to change in the futur) I’m deeply sorry to say all this, it’s just that all I knew in my life toxic friendships or relationships so I don’t know how healthy one’s would work without me being overly clingy or demanding too much (well fearing to ask too much)

I don’t talk with my deities a lot nor do feel their presence, they feel a bit distant (everyone actually not just Apollo with the cold weather).

So I’m ending the yapping here but, do you have kinda some tips about it all and I’m sososososo sorry for dumping all this on you, it’s just got to a point I can’t even vent to my gods that so lame of me bru😭.

🎹 anon yippieee !!!!!!! i'm unfortunately not doing too well today but as you said ! just a bad day , not a bad life x VERYYY long answer so i'm placing a cut here

firstly , i want you to know that this kind of thinking is depressingly normal , even for people like me who have very close relationships with their deities . in my experience , since i'm so used to them being so close all the time , anytime they're distant i just feel like they don't want me anymore ! and that is not the case ! do not apologise for thinking this way . we are human , and it happens . especially with what you've said you've been through :( the gods will understand .

especially in the beginning , when you're trying to figure your way around things , they're going to feel very distant . keyword: feel . as humans , even with our clairsenses and divination and whatnot , we are always doomed to make mistakes . we miss signs , especially in the beginning . especially if you're like me and can't spot external signs easily . i've had many instances where during distant times , i've looked back and realised there were signs there .

secondly , tumblr highly exaggerates their communication with the gods . i'm even guilty of doing this , unfortunately . everything under my "____ things" tags are always exaggerated for comedic effect . i get that commuication through readings , through little nudges , little internal communication here and there . and i should admit i too am guilty of not meditating as often as i should !

thirdly , one thing people often forget to mention is , you don't need to feel their presences to know they're there . like i said , humans are bound to make mistakes . i've gotten used to feeling their presences so now i can't tell if they're there purely based on presence anymore . and not everybody is going to be clairsentient like i am , to be able to sense energies like that in the first place . and that is okay .

none of this means the gods think you're weird or unworthy . in all of history , they've had millions of followers . a lot of them may have been through the same things you have !

hell , i can't even make formal prayers too good . my prayers are always an attempted imitation of semi formal at best . that does not make me unworthy . i've been struggling to meditate and talk to them lately . that does not make me unworthy . as such , it does not make you unworthy !

i can't vent to the gods either , i'll admit :( i feel a bit cringe every time i do . and even though apollon Himself reassured me of this , there's always going to be that part of me that's like "what if i'm just talking to myself" , "what if i'm making it all up" , "what if i'm deluding myself" , etc etc . the only times i vent to the gods are when i'm actually at a breaking point and can't hold it in anymore .

but that's the thing . you don't need to vent to them . you can , if you're okay with it , but you don't have to . you shouldn't feel guilty for not confiding in them ! it's difficult , and they understand . they always do . here's some tips i have:

understand that they just want you to do your best . if your best today is just getting out of bed , then they are so , so proud of that , and they don't expect more until you're ready to do more .

you don't have to communicate with them every day . your every thought does not have to be in devotion to them . you are human , you have your earthly matters to attend to . you must first take care of your roots before you reach for the stars .

they will never , and i mean never think of you any less than they think of their other worshippers .

remember that those kinds of close bonds take time . i've been in helpol since 2019 , but i was basically the helpol equivalent of a christmas christian , and i really locked in this may . that is why i'm so easily able to decipher communication and feel them there . it will take time . be patient with yourself !

your emotions often tend to get in the way of anything you may try to decipher . i once begged and sobbed in front of apollon's altar because i thought He was angry with me , all because i fell sick after praying to Him . but in reality it was because it was raining outside and i stuck my head out the car window whilst going 50 km/h like an idiot . my emotions and mental state were a mess at the time , and i thought i deserved His wrath because i just didn't think i deserved anything good . and you know what His response was ? concern . utter concern . because He was not angry with me , He did not think negative things about me , it was just my emotions getting in the way of everything . don't fault yourself when this happens ( because it will ) , just remember that not everything you decipher could be the truth .

the gods will never think you're weird . hell , my devotional playlist for apollon has videogame theme songs . it has fnaf songs . and He loves it !

the gods will never ever fault you for the things you think as a result of circumstances outside of your control . things like trauma , intrusive thoughts , anxiety , etc; so many of their worshippers have those too . they know the human condition , they understand we are not perfect . they don't fault you for feeling this way !

even though you don't have to vent to them , i still suggest you at the very least try . if not for everything , then in cases when you think they might think negative things about you . if you don't want to ask them ( which i understand ) you can always reach out to someone that does free tarot readings so they can ask for you ! i tend to find these in discord servers the most . the one i ask in the most , i unfortunately cannot give an invite right now as i believe invites are closed currently , but there's also this one ! you specifically can dm ME if you want me to do one for you for free ( though i understand if you want to remain anonymous ) . but at the end of the day , you can always just go "[deity] i ask for a sign as confirmation that you don't hate me" or something and keep an eye out !

this post is. very long and very messy i apologise , because i just kind of dumped everything on here . i know what it's like to feel this way and i wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy . but just know , your religious journey is not linear . it's a landscape . it'll have mountains and it'll have valleys , and every experience helps your practice evolve .
