i made myself chuckle today by thinking of something kind of immature. and it was in a certain scenario, where things were suddenly starting to wind down while tyler + bunny were on the phone — and as you can imagine... she is still pretty new to some of the nuances of flirting as well as just the ways in which humans communicate with others as well.

profoundly normal about guardian / charge relationships in horror media . love when two characters are sent through the maws of hell and one feels desperately responsible for the younger, be it for an actual personal connection or a sense of obligation. when the protector knows they can try to take the brunt of the situation, try to shield the younger as best they can, but they cannot take them away or will this to not be happening. there is no savior, only a companion. only comfort. but it's not enough to keep the monsters away, not entirely. the only way out of the fire is through, and the protector will make goddamn sure the charge makes it.

Cause, I have to add...I do love me strong female characters BUT I also like when they have personalities and arn't just 'one of the guys but with boobs'/'not like other girls' type. Like, the reason all the Sonic girls are awesome? Yes, they all can fight BUT they all have distinct personalities — we got Amy who sweet, kind, and a hopeless romantic than we have someone like Rouge who is flirty, confident, and sassy. And that is just two of them, all them are distinct and badass. And other examples outside Sonic characters? Sailor Moon is a badass too; Sally the Ragdoll is a badass; Jessica Rabbit is a badass— why? Because they all are allowed to be characters that happen to be women and they're not shamed for that. And yes, not all of them are 'fighters' but Sally was willing to risk her self to help save Santa, Jessica was putting her career and self in harms way for her husband, and Sailor Moon whole thing is about protecting the world through love; most might not be fighters in the traditional sense but they can fight when needed. In conclusion, please stop making 'badass women' the 'not like other girls' trope. No one likes it, let them be bad asses by being good characters and strong ladies without having to basically shaming other women.

Van somewhat falls in line with Yanagi, as i find his voice rather soothing to listen to... and i admit, my frame of reference for them both is a little fuzzy--thanks to not having played either game for a while... But-- i do remember an extra story from the first C:R game, which gives us all sleepy voice Van, and just-- that one lowkey ended me.
