        he found himself acting out of IMPULSE more often than usual, perhaps it was the sudden CLOSENESS that recently bloomed between them. he couldn’t quite remember when EXACTLY he started feeling some sort of attraction towards the barista, though when he remembered those first meetings where the chanwoo would bring him coffee for free out of nowhere and he simply felt annoyed as he is not exactly a people’s person. a giggle fled from his lips as his palms slid down on his chest as he got closer when their lips brushed again. “y’know. it’s the chapstick.” he teased back as one of his hands went to brush one of the blond locks away from his face.

            it was unknown as why would someone visit a cafe shop this late. but yuuto was one to frequent those places as he considered them more CALM than his own house. nothing against that though, but they were kind of loud sometimes and studying out with a good cup of coffee sounded like a good plan from time to time. as he was a REGULAR there, he already sort of formed a bond with the barista.

            on his usual table, he ordered the same as always but this time with his book closed, simply staring at the people that come and go from the shop. it was incredible to see how CROWDED this place always, and it was no surprise why the owner decided to close that late. “so many maybes, so many ways. so many ladies, so many men... it's a lonely night.” he muttered, as he moved aside his now empty cup of coffee towards chanwoo to ask for a refill. “everybody's happy, been turning around and looking for a friendly light. but i see nothing.” and honestly, he was only MUTTERING probably complaining because he did had a rough day, not to mention that his nature was actually derivative from jealousy. “no eyes, no eyes on me.”

         days were usually busy at the restaurant, customers walked in and out every minute and neither of the brothers had time to count nor attempt to MEMORIZE their faces. yuuto specifically, just served without caring about minimal details such as faces or voices as he was simply doing his job. sei on the other side had this friendly vibe that made each customer to feel at ease, as if they were at home. probably everyone that knew yuuto and sei knew they both worked as a restaurant, sometimes friends visited but yuuto had more DISCRETION when it came about his work, mostly because well, his brother was 99% of the time there so he had a list of people that would NEVER be invited. 

         of course on top of that list was chanwoo. which could be considered unfair because of the fact yuuto spent his free time at his work, but he did have a VALID reason ( or at least he considered it that way ). despite the AMBIGUITY of their relationship, yuuto was pretty sure that he developed feelings towards the older. not that he hid it either, in fact he tried to make it clear with every action and word and mostly his insecurities prevent him from having a HEALTHY relationship. sure, he didn’t mind chanwoo meeting his mother, who could be found all the time there, he didn’t mind him bumping into his father either. in fact, he thought they could get along. but sei? seiji was the MAIN problem here and the entire reason why he didn’t want chanwoo to get close to his family restaurant. 

         and as well, this wasn’t exactly an issue on his brother side but he was so HURT in the past that he is simply just SCARED that another one of his partners prefer sei over him. sei did remember what happened back then, but he tried to make it clear that he would never do anything like that to his own brother so he basically just kept up with his own life without taking into consideration how FATAL this was for the younger of them. and well, yuuto did talk about a mysterious chanwoo, but never described him nor showed a photo so how was he supposed to know that the customer right in front of him was that person? the thought didn’t even cross his mind as he was taking the order though, he did feel a murderous gaze coming into his direction. 

           “why are you talking to him?” yuuto mumbled coming from behind, his expression was DIFFERENT from what was usual on him as the anger was boiling through his veins. he didn’t even say a word to chanwoo as he was too focused in ‘confronting’ his brother. yet yuuto was not the jealous type, but when something revolved about the older okinaga he snapped in seconds as if he was a time-bomb. “seiji, i’m talking to you. we are not doing this again. you enjoy this, don’t you? i bet you are even doing it on purpose.” 

            “yuuto, you are scaring the customers. i don’t know what you are talking about.” sei responded, looking at chanwoo with an apologetic face still without knowing what was going.

            “oh, right! i forget how dumb you actually are. is your memory failing know? do i need to refresh what happened years ago? and now you come here and do the same with chanwoo?!”

            “chan...?” sei blinked twice in confusion, looking back at the customer then again at yuuto. oh. “i didn’t even know it was... yuuto listen to me. i don’t know what you mean, i was just taking his order.”

           “just shut the fuck up.”

            “yuuto, please. you are really scaring our custo--” though sei couldn’t finish his sentence as the next thing he saw was yuuto ready to strangle him. but in a blink of the eye, chanwoo was already up and ready to stop the red-head. "i’m sorry we met in these circumstances, but please take him to the back room.” more than ashamed, sei was worried about his brother’s behavior. yet again, yuuto wasn’t this type of person and the fact that he is causing these feelings on him was simply heartbroken for the two of them. sei sighed and stayed in the main room as yuuto was finally taken away to calm down. 

            at first, he didn’t want to LISTEN any word, not even if it was chanwoo. he was angry, hurt, desperate. a river of emotions flowing inside his heart, causing his brain to be foggy and not allowing him to think straight. it was too much for him too handle and only until that moment, he realized how broken he actually was. how much he hated himself, how his self-esteem was touching the floor,  how he compared to sei for absolutely no reason. sei never meant harm, right? chanwoo wasn’t supposed to be here in first place, but who was he to even deny him to come to public space. chanwoo was another customer, and his brother was doing his job. and he felt stupid, felt broken, felt even more desperate than before. because it took him a while to realize how the old scars were still open, because when he thought he got over the situation with tomoe was a simple fantasy that he created to blind himself from the truth. that after that day, he became broken and it would take him a while to pick up all the pieces. 

           and without even thinking, he finally allowed himself to fall into chanwoo’s arms, weeping, taking out everything as he never did it before. “i’m sorry.” he mumbled in between his cries, his face hiding onto chanwoo’s chest as he gripped the hem of his shirt. taking a deep breath, he realized that it would be better to explain what was going on. “i’m not like this... i just get extremely insecure when my brother is around. he is better than me at everything, he is popular, he is more handsome-- people just fawn around him always. all my life i have been just his little brother and that’s all. years ago i was dating someone that seemed to genuinely care for me and just for me. so i introduced him to my family, he spent a lot of time at my house but he always insisted sei to join us. i found it weird, but i thought if we were watching a movie there shouldn’t be anything wrong with him joining. that was probably the worst mistake in my life, because...” he let out a long sigh, tears still running down his cheek as his gaze torn apart. “he just used me to get closer to sei. and that had cause me permanent damage. i thought i was over it-- i try to convince myself i was over it but i didn’t even want you to come here because i was afraid you two could met. after that happened, i spent years not allowing guys i’m interested in to come any closer to sei, and that’s not normal. how did i not realize it sooner that it was not normal...”

          “i’m sorry, chanwoo. i’m really sorry. i didn’t mean to cause a scene and it’s not that i don’t trust you. i do, but... my insecurities sometimes take over me. i’m so embarrassed right now, we are not even dating yet i’m here getting jealous because my own brother is taking your other. i... would understand if you don’t want me close after this, but believe me... i really, really like you.”

the difference between these two is actually a lot. sei is more submissive, easily manipulable, naïve, clingy, cheesy, a social butterfly, cries a lot with puppy movies. yuuto on the other side is more dominant, sarcastic, sassy, bossy, has difficulties opening up to others, definitely doesn’t cry with movies. they don’t really fight, but they do have their arguments at times. yuuto scolds sei a lot because he is irresponsable and carefree, and sei simply responds how strict and boring he is not to mention he picks it up with his height, but at the end they just end up eating chips together and playing video games.

whenever he likes someone or is dating someone, he prefers this person away from seiji. why? well, it goes back to his first boyfriend when he was in first year of high school. he went to the same high school as sei, they never really shared space in school as sei is three years older than him, so in his first year sei already graduated. however, sei was extremely popular and when they heard there was going to be another okinaga in school he immediately received a lot of attention. of course, everyone realized he was not like sei at all, so he simply was “sei’s younger brother”. he was annoyed because of that, people used to approached him mostly because of his brother and didn’t even give themselves a chance to meet yuuto as their expectations were someone as social and popular as sei. obviously, yuuto is the contrary of him, he is shy and awkward at times. he is not exactly good with people and well, that made others to feel disappointed. he didn’t have many friends either, only three friends: tamaki shuuya, hattori itsuki and ishida nori (oc’s that probably will appear on this blog ngl) stood with him from the very first day of class and still have contact with him, among them nori is his confidant as she is the one that knows him the most. 

during this second year, there were a lot of rumors of his sexuality, thing that he never bother to address as they weren’t a lie. beside he came out to his parents since middle school so honestly there was nothing for him to hide. a third year, named sonozaki tomoe approached him, flirted with him a lot and without realizing it they were dating. of course it was significantly to yuuto as he was his first boyfriend, his first relationship ever however what happened next probably was the start of his self-steem issues. tomoe was amazingly cute with him, and yuuto never had an issue introducing him to his family, but he found weird that every time he were at his house he tried to spend time with sei. at this moment, sei was a freshman at college, but tomoe was a year younger than him so he knew who sei was and that was the excuse he gave yuuto, who found it weird yet decided not to give it too much thought. however, yuuto didn’t want to admit that he was starting to feel jealous about his brother, sure he was always compared to him and people related to him but up until this point, he didn’t care. still, he believed he was just overthinking and carried on with his life. 

one time tomoe was so insisting about spending the night there and yuuto agreed to it. they were watching a movie, and tomoe asked sei to join them which was enough to annoy yuuto for the rest of the night. at one point, he stood up to go the bathroom and the next thing he remembers is sei yelling at tomoe to stop. obviously, yuuto was confused and decided to quickly go back to the living room. sei was angry, and that was a hard thing to see in him. sei explained that tomoe tried to kiss him, which was extremely disgusting to sei considering he was supposed to be his little brother’s boyfriend. and honestly, what type of person do that? yuuto didn’t believe it at first, but just by seeing the angry reaction of sei he knew that he just couldn’t be lying. that night, they kick tomoe out of the house and decided they won’t talk about this anymore. sei tried to calmed him down, and even though yuuto knew it wasn’t sei’s fault he couldn’t help but feel heartbroken. a few days later, he decided to comfront tomoe but that results were even worst than he imagined, as tomoe told him that the only reason he approached him was to get close to sei. that was the moment when yuuto started having trust issues. he doesn’t blame sei, however he does feel scared of ever getting his partners close to him because of this incident. even though he knows sei would never do that but, he just has a hard time trusting as he believes if his partners meet sei they will prefer him over, as everyone else in high school did.

i thought yuuto was bisexual but it seems he is just a sassy gay. i can see him coming out to his family like:

he would probably blame sei, accusing him of telling their parents and sei would simply deny it and tell him that he is just obvious and well, it’s normal. honestly yuuto is just, jealous of nothing??? i mean yeah, it’s evident sei is the favorite but tooru and mitsuki are actually really chill parents considering that both of them came from really old-fashioned families. tooru however, he lived in europe for so long as he is a journalist. he actually studied abroad and most of his young adult years were spent there so he didn’t grow up that old-fashioned. mitsuki on the other side, she was old-fashioned until she met tooru and little by little he taught her things that were seen as taboo back in japan. he even told her that she didn’t need to be a housewife if she didn’t want to. they are really open with their kids and considering that they lost a child before sei they let them do what they want and they love them unconditionally, without judging and always making sure that there’s a bond of trust between them. but well, yuuto is just a grumpy elf.
