maybe harley was expecting too much. of course shiv would bring her boyfriend along to celebrate. but harley hated seeing the two of them together. whenever they got too close or they'd kiss, it made harley feel sick to her stomach. harley wanted that to be her. and sometimes, it would be. but whenever he came around, it was as though harley didn't even exist anymore. it was like this for a while now and even though harley knew she should get tired of these games, she was wrapped around shiv's pretty little finger like an idiot and she couldn't give her up. and it didn't help that they were touring around the country in the same band, forced to be around each other all the time. even though they were all supposed to be having fun with right now since it was the after party to one of their shows, harley wasn't in the mood. so she had left the others, waiting outside with a bottle of beer to keep her company. as she continued to drink her sorrows away, she heard footsteps coming up from behind her but didn't bother to turn around. she just assumed it was one of the other members anyway. "i'll be fine," harley says without even bothering to look behind her. "just go back to the party." // @angclnumber

harley knows that flora isn't a moron. she's probably the smartest one out of them both. "so, uh, if you didn't blurt it out now, were you ever going to tell me?" would they have gone on without flora ever sharing her true feelings? "no, i don't," harley shakes her head in response, "good, because i was hoping we could be a couple and see where things go. i think i'm in love with you. no, i know it. i can't imagine life without you. i don't want to either." flora's confession made harley realize her own suppressed feelings towards flora and now that she had her chance to say them, she wouldn't let the opportunity slip past her.

“i know things can’t go back to normal, harley, i’m not a fucking moron,” she lashed out nervously, “but i didn’t really intend on telling you how i felt. it kinda just… came out.” her eyes were wide as she gazed towards the other, searching for some sort of reciprocation in their own demeanor. flora didn’t like being the only one who’s heart was hung on a string right now. “you don’t?” her voice caught in her throat, knowing harley’s words could have a million different meanings. “i don’t want them to either, harls.”

"i am so happy for you and your stupid, ugly boyfriend. i swear," harley replies, tone dripping with venomous sarcasm. harley never thought she'd actually feel this way about her best friend finally dating but she couldn't ignore it. harley . . . was jealous.

seeing the way shannon smiles is enough to make harley smile with her. it was definitely moments like these that made harley really happy to be away in the city with shannon in the first place. "i think you're just projecting at this point, babe. did you forget how badly i beat you at pacman? that was pretty intense," harley playfully shot back. "oh, of course. the both of us together basically creates one giant braincell full of great ideas." playfully, harley rolls her eyes at shannon's cheesy yet cute words. "aw, how sweet," harley replies, melting underneath her touch, "wait . . . more cheesy movies? we definitely need to reconsider that whole proposal. i don't know if i can handle too much of that all at once. it'd be too overwhelming for me."

"did you really?" shannon said with a grin, feeling her whole face light up. it would bring them such a sense of home, without the worry of her mother hovering over the two of them. "i think you just want to lose at every single arcade game again, just in a new location." she teased as she nudged her foot under the table. while she loved their life here, the days at the arcade where they didn't have a care in the world and she would sneak coins from her to play a couple more games. "maybe that's why i keep you around, we have some great ideas." she teased with another grin. hearing harley say her true number one idea made her laugh since she couldn't imagine the two of them ice skating. they'd be falling so many times, but she knew that was the fun about it. "i wouldn't want to fall on my ass with anyone else." she teased as she reached across the table to cup her face. "you know this means that i have to show you more cheesy movies to get more date night ideas out of you."

"you know, if you're looking for josh, he's back inside. his group of fan girls haven't gotten to him yet so you have a chance," harley assures them. there's no way that they could possibly be there for her, right? she was just a drummer but josh, the lead singer of the band, was the real main attraction.

            harley was a little high. well, more than a little. but that was usually the case after a show. and even though she loved to perform, she loved to party even more. this time around though, she’d be hanging out with dawn - away from the others. harley could make up an excuse like how she needed to get a breath of fresh air or something. but really, harley wanted to be with dawn alone. being in a band together, you think they’d have all the time in the world to hang out but they were growing popular so that was no longer the case. “holy shit,” harley laughs, “i can’t feel my heart right now. i think it’s stopped or something.” she was very obviously high now. // @angclnumber​

harley lightly chuckles, knowing she probably should think about herself. she had barely managed to survive last time. was she so sure that she'd be able to make it next time? but then brady grabs her, pulls her closer, and all rational thought suddenly flies out of the window. her heart's racing and she feels the same way she did when she was a teenager. "lots of things," harley smirks, daring to move even closer to the blonde. "i miss how bossy you are, how good you make me feel," she responds. "i miss everything about you, even if you're kind of a bitch." that was probably what turned harley on the most about brady. she was secretly a masochist. / @caeruleums

          harley coudln’t believe that brady had actually said she was right. like … out loud. she felt like she was dreaming, even more so that she agreed to be with her still. that was probably the happiest news she had heard all day. “in case you haven’t figured it out by now, i really have a thing for self sabotage.” she dares to move a little closer, wanting to make sure this was real and not some fantasy her mind conjured up. “i really missed you so much.  i never thought this would happen again,” harley remarked. but now that it was, she wasn’t going to let brady go for anything.

[ @cigvrettedvet​ ]                  “you… should be thinking about yourself, harls.” but she wasn’t opposed. god, she was obsessed with her all over again. it was dangerous for brady, to be so obsessive and into someone the way she was with harly. she reached out to grip the collar of her shirt tightly, pulling her in like she was some predator and harley was her prey. no man had ever made her feel this carnal. this primal. “what did you miss the most about me?” she questioned, because it wouldn’t be very ‘brady’ of her to not make it about herself. or fish for compliments.

"do you really have to spend the whole night studying?" harley asks, sitting right next to lennon. she was probably being annoying but it was for good reason. "i mean, the word dying is in it which means that it's bad for you. you should take a break. and by take a break, i mean, go out with me tonight. we can get some drinks at this really cool bar," harley suggests but it's not really much of an offer. it's more like an order since harley wasn't going to be taking no for an answer. "come on, i bet it'll be way more fun than reading a book with a whole bunch of words in it!" // @ofdoycnnes

             cigarette dangles from harley’s lips, the girl boredly flipping through her book as the faint sounds of the arcade played in the background. she doesn’t even notice that someone new had walked in until she sees a flash of golden hair, glancing up from her spot behind the counter to find shannon standing before her. “baby!” she nearly shouts, “thank god you finally showed up. i was beginning to get bored. you’re my favorite customer.” technically, she was one of the few who still showed up to this same beat up arcade in town but still. “i’m starting to think i’m just getting paid to sit here and look pretty. wanna have a little fun before the boss man gets back?” harley then asks, a devilish glint in her eyes as she then put out her cigarette with the nearby ashtray. // @heroexxs​

“a shitty apartment, huh? i can totally work with that. i apologize because i’ve clearly been watching way too much true crime documentaries.” maddie found herself laughing heartily at the femme’s next question before shaking her head. “i am not. i am the type of girl who feels bad when i step on a bug, so killing a human? not for me. you’re very safe with me.” the brunette assured, finding the playful banter between them to be refreshing. how could she resist a cute face with a great sense of humor? “oh shucks. thank you. harley is an awfully nice name, too. it makes you sound like a bit of a badass.” she complimented back, her eyelashes batting flirtatiously in her direction. “damn - you were very far off, but those are nice names. you can call me whatever you want if you keep being this smooth, though.” maddie wiggled her eyebrows playfully.

            harley’s a little relieved to know that the brunette wouldn’t mind her shitty apartment. technically, most people didn’t but it still felt safe to bring up anyways. “it’s cool. stranger danger is very real so,” harley lightly chuckled, “i feel safe with you too. you don’t look very scary at all. you look sweet actually, and very hot.” had harley completely blurted out the last thought in her mind? of course. maddie was intimidatingly pretty and harley couldn’t think straight. “i’d like to think that i am a badass but i’m probably more of a dumbass than anything else,” harley teased with a shake of her head. the smile on her lips turns a little more flirtatious when maddie calls her smooth. “anything i want? definitely tempting. i could think of a couple more names back at my place if you’d like to hear them.”

maddie always went after what or who she wanted, and she was pleasantly surprised that the adorable woman she eyed from across the bar actually seemed interested in her. it’s not that she had self-esteem issues, but rather was typically only approached by the skeeviest of men. “i am, really. i mean – unless you’re some sort of weirdo with a dungeon i should know about first, then i might reconsider.” she joked with an amused grin.  “nice to meet you, harley. a very cute name to go with that face. i’m maddie.” she introduced herself sweetly as she swirled her drink and eyed the other femme. “i’m a little curious about what you think my name could’ve been, though?” 

             harley couldn’t help but chuckle, quick to shake her head after. “i promise i’m not a weirdo with a creepy dungeon. just a shitty apartment,” she’s quick to admit, “you’re not some sort of serial killer, are you? because that’s also really important to know before we go any further. i like my life a lot.” she’s teasing but harley was already so attracted to the brunette that it wouldn’t have mattered. “maddie, huh? a beautiful name for a beautiful girl,” harley flirts. the name did fit, if harley was being honest. “you looked more like a selena or a daisy to me but maddie’s perfect too. i’m so thankful you didn’t actually make me guess since my answer just shows how far off i was,” harley admitted.

             chuckling softly as the customary-harley-adjacent pinkish blush set her cheeks alight, liv slides her dishcloth along the bar as she tries not to read too much into her girlfriend’s reaction to the new namesake drink liv’s prepared for her. her smile brightens further as harley’s grin settles her girlish nerves. she’s never been so worried over making a cocktail before, her mixology skills are coming along nicely enough not to panic each time a customer asks for something more complicated though this time around, knowing who the recipient is, it takes everything liv has not to sweat out her nerves and run away. “ yeah ? well, that one’s on the house but the rest you have to pay for ” she smirks, tempting a coquettish smirk onto her lips as she leans over the bar. listening to her girlfriend, the soft sweet confessional tone she uses, liv can’t help getting swept up into her world even more than she has been. it makes her heart swell not only seeing her throw herself into all the craziness while she’s onstage but also how easily her rockstar persona falls and she’s harley again. her harley. “ oh on top of the world, huh ? well, count me lucky because it feels pretty great from this angle too ” liv smirks into the kiss, reaching her hand up to her cheek as she lifts herself up from the bar to the sound of wolf-whistling from her more regular patrons. her lips casually buzz against harley’s, chuckling softly as she gives her another peck on the lips. “ does this make me an official groupie ? ”.

           harley’s hopelessly smitten with her girlfriend, feeling her heart flutter and her brain race with mushy thoughts whenever it came to liv. although she’s never felt this way before, harley doesn’t want for it to stop either. “pay for?” harley’s brows raise, amusement written all over her features, “is there, like a specific currency or what? because i’m kinda low on cash and i can think of a couple other ways to pay.” it wouldn’t be harley if she didn’t flirt and mess with liv. she liked the way liv could get so easily flustered. at this point, it was like a personal challenge. but as fun as it was, harley also enjoyed doing cute shit with liv too. “you’re so damn cute,” harley can’t help but say, melting when liv touched her cheek. hearing the sounds of wolf-whislting, all harley could do was give whoever it was the middle finger and keep kissing liv until the blonde pulled away. “i think it does,” harley playfully answered, reaching over to tuck some of liv’s hair behind her ear, “but you’re my number one groupie. i have a whole line of ‘em in case you didn’t know.” she so obviously didn’t. liv was pretty much the only girl in her life and while that scared harley a little, she was willing to take her time and enjoy the good times with liv. it was all about having fun and nothing more than that.

harley & elle.

surprisingly, having her status of being the odd one out thrown in her face wasn’t as confronting as she thought it would be. it wasn’t done in a condescending manner, and elle was glad that, at last, someone attempted to have a real conversation with her. it was a nice variation from the judgmental eyes and sarcastic comments about her attire she had been dealing with so far.  “ i mean, yeah, i’ve never been to a party before. one of my friends ─ ”  her only friend. the one she had known since kindergarten. celia used to be her best friend, now their relationship feels somewhat one-sided. she can sense that celia only keeps her around at her parents’ request, not because she wants to.  “ celia, she invited me. i don’t know if you know her ? celia harris ? i can’t seem to find her, though. she went to get drinks and never returned, so now i’m just wandering around. ”  she fidgeted with the cross pendant of her chain briefly, then releasing it and feeling it fall against her covered chest. unable to keep her hands still, she fumbled with the fabric of the dress that fell beneath her knees.  “ do you come to these parties often ? ”  her gaze locked on the other girl, suddenly realizing that she hadn’t introduced herself, the little gasp and innocent widening of her eyes conveying her shock at the impoliteness.  “ i’m elle, by the way. it’s ─ it’s nice to meet you. ”  it wasn’t until she stuck out her hand to shake hers that she noticed the blunt in the girl’s hand. so that was where the stench was coming from. elle briefly let her eyes wander to the object in the other girl’s hand, not necessarily judging, but smoking was not a decision she would ever make. 

       harley nods as she would listen to the other's story, brows furrowing at the mention of a celia harris. and it takes her a while to remember. "yeah, i know her. not much though," harley had seen celia around and she knew for certain she wasn't going around and getting drinks. but she won't dump such news on the wide eyed girl clutching onto her cross like her life depended on it. harley also won't mention that she's very much an atheist. "too often, i'm afraid," harley teases, sobering up slightly when she'd introduce herself. "i'm harley, nice to meet you as well." she doesn't think she's ever been this formal at all ever since she was twelve, but she shakes elle's hand nonetheless. elle was harmless and definitely lost within a much bigger pond than what she was used to. harley couldn't help but feel a little bit bad for the cute girl. harley's gaze would soon move down to the blunt in her hand, smiling as she would hold it up. "did you wanna try some? i was really hoping to keep it for myself, but i'll let you try if you're curious." she had a feeling that elle's never done anything like this before.
