tony liked showing off his inventions, almost as much as he liked showing off his boys. when the opportunity to show a local witch just how good enough peter was with things in his mouth, he jumped at the idea. he let the man go first, watching the younger one suck him off. "that's my boy." iron man started stroking himself, licking his lips as he walked closer to them. dario rested one of his hands behind peter's head, grinding his hips to help him out. "you are right, he's eager to please."

ice slimes... ice slimes... tem is creating small sculptures of slimes (they're not all cryo! they're just made of ice) at an alarming pace. at some point, she stops, holding one between her thumb and forefinger, and then pops it into her mouth.

(cryo ice is still ice, after all...)

For once, Tonia is quiet as she sits on the sidelines, watching Tem go about making little slimes (or slime-shaped mounds of ice, which is basically a slime in all but name if she had to get pedantic but anyway—).

She's half-crouched in the snow, elbows propped on her knees and chin resting in her hands, silent but no less observant. It's a very unusual silence for Tonia, but the repetitive process of seeing little slimes being made from ice and then set around in the snow is somehow soothing. For as long as it lasts, she's more than happy to be stay where she is, contentedly doing nothing for once.

Until one of the ice slimes get popped into Tem's mouth. At which point, Tonia is shooting up from her spot, a distinctly inhuman screech of gibberish exiting her mouth.

"—What do you think you're doing?!" The Harbinger manages to say, after wrangling proper words out of her screaming. "Spit it out, spit out! Don't do that to your slimes, what are you, some cannibal?! Lame, loser, horrible, spit it out and don't do that!"

It's weird to me that they don't put Way as one of Tony's victims 🧐 he was a pathetic idiot but he was a victim of trafficking just like the others. Putting Kenta and not Way in that category seems odd to me idk

this is a topic i have many feelings on but will speak carefully about because i'm pretty sure this was pit babe fandom discourse in january. it is odd to me as well but i understand where people are coming from (way DID try to rape his best friend).

there's an old post talking about this saying that it could also be because we don't actually SEE the impact of kenta's actions. we know how much way has hurt babe but we do not see how much damage kenta has had a hand in doing.

the series is also much more empathetic towards way than the novel so i think people who read the novel first might be influenced by how way is portrayed there which, fair, novel way is... something else lol. novel vs series way is something i can talk about for a loooong time because those changes are so interesting to me.

But yes. i understand both sides of it u_u there are fewer people who dislike way active in the fandom now though

"MAYBE THAT'S THE PROBLEM, TONI ! what, you left me there and just decided to stop giving a shit about me ? about how i might feel ? what the fuck ?" as usual slater was never sure if they were in the right or wrong . that shit was hard to gauge, at least in the moment . hindsight was twenty - twenty but in the present it was all feeling . all raw ache and anger as they stare at toni , their ex and their best friend all in one ( but toni wasn't really that anymore, were they ? not really . ) . slater doesn't have time to wonder if she's got a right to any of it, she's too busy letting her eyebrows raise a bit as toni continues . "what, you don't fucking care ?" slater scoffs after the words, giving toni a long look before they're arching a brow as they say, "i find that hard to believe . they're fucking using you, toni . you should care ." it occurs only after they utter the words that maybe slater was the one who cared . the thought flickers through their mind quick and unexpected, and it's enough to incense them all over again . because why the fuck do they care ? they had a million reasons not to care . more than that . they try to swallow down the caring , or protectiveness, or whatever the fuck it is but it stubbornly comes right back up, like bile . slater resolves to ignore it until it converts itself into anger like it should ; like they need it to . they don't have to wait long . toni's next words make their skin prickle hot, their eyes narrowing into a glare that is instinctual . if slater truly had a vice it was wrath . but perhaps second to that was pride . so of course it was that that toni was digging their fingers into right now ; poking at it was a fresh bruise that slater would flinch at , would react to . unfortunately, if there was one thing slater was going to do it was react . the step they take forward into toni's space is probably predictable . they don't care . they're much too busy scanning toni's face in the now limited space between them, their brow arching as the corners of their lips quirk up into a smile that's only a stone throw away from a sneer . "are you picking a fucking fight ? is that what this is ?" despite their anger slater can't help the way their expression twists the longer toni speaks . it starts with the twitch of their lips into a frown, only to be followed by their brow furrowing . by the time slater is ready to speak the bewilderment in their eyes is clear even through the haze of fury . "... you've got no idea who you fucking are, toni ." the words are said plainly, anger perhaps still saturating them but it's without the purposeful intent of the previous jabs . they arch both brows high then, gesturing to toni in the space between them as they make a face and say, "and i don't know if it's humility or straight fucking delusion but either way you're gonna have to get a clue how other people see you and adjust accordingly ." slater meets toni's gaze, their eyes honest as they somehow almost harshly say , "trust me, i fucking hate to be the one to tell you this but you're a big deal . i mean, yeah, i am ." slater shrugs with the words, matter of fact with their confidence in a way that they've always been and, likely, always will be . "but we all knew that was going to happen ." slater's eyes find toni's with intent . " but you are too ." slater doesn't know why this feels so important to make clear, especially not right now of all times . if they understood it maybe they could articulate it . all slater can hope is that toni doesn't ask . slater can't help but blink rapidly at the words they utter next, startled by angle that toni has taken it and trying to pretend it doesn't sting . their jaw clenches tight , nostrils flaring even as they meet toni's eyes squarely and say, "yeah, i'm fucking lonely . always have been . so fucking what ? you are too ." slater's brows raise high in challenge then, waiting for toni to object . their head tilts as they shrug stiffly and almost aggressively ask, "you gonna deny it ?"

"i never said it was! you're deliberately misunderstanding me, like you always do...it's not an invasion of your privacy to write a song about something that happened to me. it's from my perspective, because that's the only perspective i know! what would be the point of censoring myself, when the whole goal was to get that shit off my chest? you don't get my artistic process— that's fine! no one's asking you to! but don't make it a fucking personal attack, because i assure you, i was genuinely not thinking about your feelings at all when i wrote that ep." it hadn't been created out of spite, is what they meant, but it was difficult not to inject a little venom into their words when slater had such a knack for getting them so riled up. toni was far from cool and composed— they felt everything so deeply, and then they bottled it up it, but for once they were allowing themselves to let it out. "who am i to stand in the way of a gal looking to make a quick buck? what they do when they leave is none of my business." it was strange sometimes, realizing that some girls were only attracted to them because of their supposed "fame". they'd never considered themselves famous by any stretch of the imagination, so at first they'd figured everyone that came onto them after their shows had truly connected with their music, and therefor with toni as a person, but it didn't take long to realize that their interest revolved heavily around how many instagram followers they'd amassed since the release of their ep. sure, it didn't feel great to know that it wasn't them the girls were interested in, but their notoriety, but they'd take the false companionship over loneliness any day. "the tik tok charts, maybe..." everything they were saying now was with the intention of digging into slater, as god knows they'd never given a fuck about charts or sales. really, toni had been happy for them when they'd first seen their first single pop up on their twitter feed, feeling a hint of the tenderness that'd strengthened between them over their many years of friendship. good for her. as hurt as toni was, as pissed as they'd been at slater in the height of their fallout, love wasn't something that could sour that easily. with a heavy sigh of exhaustion, they ran a hand through their shaggy mane, pushing sandy brown locks up off their forehead in the process. "look... i know you think you're, like, god's gift to music, and the greatest rockstar the world has ever seen, or whatever, but i am not operating under that same delusion. i really don't think people care about me, or my life, or my past as much as you seem to think they do. maybe they care about yours, but i'm just... some dude with a keyboard. i can assure you, journalists aren't clamoring to get the shocking exposé on my pathetic high school situationship. i write the music, i release the music, i perform the music, and my job is done. you can tell tmz whatever the fuck you want, once again, that's none of my business." their face felt hot from the overwhelming frustration, blurting out, "it doesn't! it doesn't fucking matter!" before slater could even finish their sarcastic query. this is exactly why they'd never reached out after all these years. plenty of time had passed, but everything that had happened between them was still too fresh, and toni still couldn't put aside their bitterness and resentment long enough to have one calm conversation. finally, their fiery frustration faded to pure incredulity, taken aback by how slater framed that fateful night that had ended their relationship, a mirthless chuckle pushing its way past their lips like a short bark. "wow... wow, that's— wow." all they could do for a moment was laugh, shaking their head as they tried to compose their rapidly firing thoughts into a concise statement. "you are such a sad person. it must be so lonely living in this alternate reality you've constructed in which everyone around you is fucking insane, and you're the only rational human being."
